Have any of you that shop at Walmart been told that they are no longer taking printed online manufacturered coupons? Friday, my coupons were refused under the premise that a new corporate printed online manufacturered coupon policy had been released from the head office earlier in the week. The clerk stated the new policy was due to coupon fraud from people making up their own coupons. When I cited and asked where her coupon alert sheet was from the CIC (I think that’s the name), her eyes glazed over. I informed her that this website posts these type of fraudulent coupons and all of the stores in the area have them posted at the registers. She inability to respond was anwser enough.
When I asked for clarification, store policy or nation wide corporate policy–again she insisted it was a corporate policy. I asked for my coupons, and told her I would go to another store to do my shopping. I informed her that I would be contacting her manager and writing an email to corporate for clarification, not because I was mad–I just didn’t believe it was a corporate policy and believed it to be her store’s policy.
Well to make a long story short…same response from the evening manager, just in a smarmier manner. When I asked for his last name, I got “I don’t have to tell the public my last name.” Geezzzzzz…this store is soooo rude to customers, no wonder it wasn’t very busy! Anyhow, I called a bunch of other Walmart stores in a 10 mile radius, and they cited the same policy that is posted on Walmart’s website–ya know, the one we all know and love. When I told Steve, with no last name, he said they just weren’t following the new policy.
Well, Steve that was working on Friday evening at the Walmart on 136th & I-25 in Westminster/Thornton, Colorado–I warned you that I was going to ask a bunch of other customers throughout the US if this is a new policy at their store too. (When I told him that I was a couponing blogger…he started become a bit nervous.)
Folks…have you had this problem too???? Or is my Walmart just trying to become Nieman Marcus when they grow up, or have a bunch of ill informed divas as employees?

i had the same sort of experience at Target last week..the store manager told me he made the coupon policy. not corporate..i called corporate and they called him to tell him he was wrong..sadly, he still felt the need to tell me he was right..havent been back to his Target since, i have 3 within a 10 mi radius too…I can give my money and coupons to another store. He had all his cashiers trained not to take coupons on clearence items or to let you get any items for free with coupons (ie $5 off a $5 handbag)..too bad that isn’t a Target policy, but one he just made up in his head…1 cashier told me she got yelled at for taking a coupon on a clearence item, but that the register took it and she knew he was wrong.
I know the walmarts in my area (Florida) take internet coupons, and some cashiers are even happy when you save money…I rarely shop at walmart though, because of all the hassles some of the “better than you cashiers” give to me when i have coupons.
What on earth is wrong with people who think coupons are bad?
They are slips of paper that save people money! Anyone can obtain them!
Are they angry because they assume we don’t work and are they feeling silly for working for low wages?
As for the managers, if they are reimbursed adequately for a coupon, then what is up?
Luckily, I have not been subjected to these practices, but I suppose it will only be a matter of time.
He DOES have to tell the public his last name, especially if he wants to move up any higher in the Wal-Mart food chain. Wal-Mart is a publicly traded company and he is a representative of that company. If I am a rep of most any company and conduct business with the public, I must supply both first and last name in case of error.
Some WM are completely gone off the deep end. People printing their own Q’s is not that common of an endeavor and the fake ones can be recognized if you take the time to train your cashiers.
oh heck no! There is just too much fraud to be dealing out full names. I was a store manager for a local grocer for 15 years, and there was no way I was going to tell anyone my full name. At the time, I was a single woman living alone…no way. I think that being able to reference “steve” or whatever, working at 8pm at store # is enough to know who he is corporately.
Remember, these are real people. Some can be real dicks but they aren’t the whole company or owner. Just some shlub that got stuck working late.
I did not get the nivea coupon here in Norfolk Va…….I am out of town and was looking forward to it. There was not even a redplum insert….bummer. I live in Northern Va-and am waiting on a call from son to see if it was in ours.

i have been to the Walmarts on 72nd and Sheridan and 92nd and Sheridan in Arvada/Westminster, Co. I was cied the same B.S. I tried to argue and they stated some of the same B.S. There were a few other posters saying they have came across the same situations across many of the Denver Metro Walmarts.
I had this problem at only one Walmart in my area (Chicago suburb). I also asked the “high on her horse” manager why it’s only their store that won’t accept these, and that it’s THEIR policy to accept internet q’s. She also stated it’s because of fradulent q’s people r trying to use. I told her not all her customers are shady and this shouldn’t effect all the rest of us decent couponers that are trying to save a buck.
I had a similar problem in my local Walmart (Arlington, TX) except they wouldn’t take any of my coupons that were made out of Del Rio, TX. She said there had been fraudulent coupons made out of that city and that Walmart will not take them any more if they were from Del Rio. However, I went to another Walmart a few miles away and they took them with no problem
When you come across a manager that offers ths behavior, inform that, not only are you contacting WalMart Corp about his newfound policy but you will also be contacting the coupon manufacturer because why are they issuing coupons for the public to print from the website and obviously issuing a statement to WalMart that the coupons are fraudulent….Inform the coupon manufacturer that you want to be re-imbursed for your ink and paper that you used to print the coupon from their site or send you a coupon directly from them to be used in the store….I did this about a year ago with Kraft ($1.50 BBQ) when a coupon I printed from their website was refused for being fraudulent by WalMart…Eventually it was accepted but I still emailed Kraft about the hassle and how I felt like a criminal for trying to save money…The point is to let your frustration out and try to get some type of jusitce…Coupon Justice!
The coupon was in St Louis’ Sunday paper that comes out on Saturday. I live in a nearby town and the paper was sold out by 5:00 pm Saturday…. hmmm must be lots of couponers here in town.
Yep, I am on the IL side of St louis area and it is in there. I bought a local paper and the Post and went to my car to see if it was in both or just one. It was in both so I went back in a bought another one!
I read an article that St. Louis is the biggest area for using coupons in the country!
Interesting, but we sure don’t have very coupon friendly stores
* Schnucks: limit of 15 coupons, will double manufacturer coupons valued up to .40¢ and only 6 of your 15 coupons may be doubled, you can only do 2 BOGO offers.
* Dierbergs: limit of 15 total coupons doubled with a value of 40¢ or less, can only use 3 identical coupons. no overages.
* Shop ‘n Save: Absolutely no “free” coupons of any kind including the BOGO coupons, coupon cannot deduct more than 1/2 the current price of the item. No doubling on any coupon. And they limit the amount of your coupons too.
All 3 grocers don’t put their coupon policies on their store sites (or have pulled them and in Shop ‘n Save’s case change it constantly) so what was a kosher coupon one day will not be allowed the next and everything is a YMMV when it comes your couponing experience and you have to check with each individual store for their own coupon policies that they decide to choose.
And you would think with all these limits on coupons that there would be enough product for every customer to purchase – but no, and especially with Schnucks – they will not restock a product until the day of the sale is over and of course post a message that there will be no rainchecks issued and no substitutes.
I’m going to try the 2 body washes plus 2 lip cares at CVS for $2.13 overage. I never have much luck at Walgreens when the RR deal requires you to buy a certain dollar amount. The manager has told me that if the RR doesnt print its because my coupons lowered the dollar amount below the required amount.
I just returned home from Walgreen’s and the Collin’s Nivea scenerio worked like a charm! Thanks, Collin! Even the cashier was impressed!
CJ…. that’s crap. If the manager tells you your coupon lowers total and prevents RRs from printing – show him his sale ad that advertises register rewards and says “coupons in most Sunday papers”.

So in Louisville there was a power outage so only the people that order the paper got it and now i have no clue when they will be distributed for buying and no one has any idea……I’m very upsest cause i want my coupons

Did you get the Minneapolis Star Tribune? I got the Early Sunday edition and there was only ONE coupon insert, the Smart Source. Grr.
Same problem here. The early edition did not have the RP. And the paper delivered to me this morning did not have any coupons at all!
I buy the Tribune at a local gas station and almost had a FIT when my hubby brought it home! Only SmartSource…grrrrrr! Our local small town paper had more Q’s this week!

I considered purchasing them off eBay but they have doubled in price in about the last hour.
I really don’t need body wash that badly, especially when all the other body wash makers are giving out huge discounts regularly as well.
It would be different if it were a large discount on a food product I go through quickly, but I can make a bottle of body wash last forever.

There was no Nivea body wash coupon for $4 off in my paper today either (SW Michigan). Weird bc the Rite Aid ad even says to look for the coupon in your paper. Bummer.
I did find the coupon in the Morning Free Press which is in SE Michigan. However, I purchased 4 papers and only three had the Nivea coupon so its really hit or miss.

The coupons do exist, however I purchased 4 of the same paper today and only 3 had the coupon in the SS insert.
Did all the Ebay-ers hoard them? Even a friend of mine who runs a clipping site can’t get her hands on them. What’s up? I am thinking if they are this hard to find, they will be even harder to use.
I can’t answer that question. I often wonder how they get hundreds and hundreds~it’s kind of hard to buy that many papers without running into some flack.
As I said, it’s not even that desirable of a coupon. One bottle of body wash lasts for how long? When I used bar soap, I could go through at least 3 bars a week, but the body wash stuff seems to last forever. Usually by the time I use a bottle up, I am completely tired of the scent and ready to move on to another brand.

Only a $1 Nivea coupon in Lower Michigan paper….not surprised though we don’t usually get the “good” coupons.
My region (I live outside of /indianapolis) is now putting the RP in our weekly ads that we get in the mail instead of the Sunday newspaper, so I ony get one copy now, huge bummer!:( I guess I will have to find some more copies on the internet.
When I got my paper this morning it only had the Smartsource. I wrote an email to the Washington Post (DCs paper) telling them that I didnt receive my Red Plum OR P&G coupons. Within 30 mins. I had another paper at my door containing ALL the coupons. Start emailing people lol 🙂

Well I feel fortunate for once. I got the Muncie, Indiana paper today and it had P&G, SS, and RP with the Nivea coupon. I had to re-read it because I thought it was $4/2 not one. 😀 😀 😀 yay for once i get a good one. I love the Nivea wash. It smells great makes me soft and gets real foamy without a loofah even. yay,i got the $4 off nivea coupon in the mail and got one in the Houston Chronicle,even though no P&G,i heard that some people steal the coupon inserts from newspapers,so i would have checked 4 the inserts,but i send my hubby and he came back w/one missing;(wanted that coupon for $2.00 tampax for the movie ticket i guess u can’t win it all.

Woo-Hoo we actually got it in the St Louis area! I can’t count how many times a deal scenerio is listed and I won’t have one of the coupons in my inserts. I will check the comments and apparently everyone else will have got the coupon. I guess it is just hit and miss on who gets what and when. I noticed people commenting and wondering how ebayers get their hands on so many….I am not sure…BUT….I used to buy my papers at a local gas station. I went one week and got 4 and got home to find NO coupon inserts. I called the station and the employee said that their was nothing they could do about it and for all they know I could be telling a lie to get more coupons. I switched to another station and after a few weeks…boom, no coupon inserts. There are only 3 stations in town! Tried to go to the third and they are sold out super early. Went back to the first one and started checking papers to see if any had the inserts…none. I told the lady behind the counter and she seemed very unconcerned and said, “Huh….people must have taken them”. I am convinced employees are stealing and selling them. The papers are right by the register. It would have been impossible for a customer to stand there and go through 20 papers to remove every last coupon. This may not be how everyone is doing it, but I am sure some are.
I don’t think that would work here. People would contact the newspaper office and they would contact the carriers and eventually find out which stores were “lifting” the coupons.
I’m pretty shocked we got the $4 coupon in the Des Moines Register – we never get the special regional ones!!
Received the same RP earlier in the week with junk mail….Same coupons….No, high value Nivea q just $1 Nivea lotion or $1 Nivea lip care….I wonder if this will become a weekly thing with the RP coming with the junk mail….Another part of town, my cousin didnt receive the RP with her junkmail…Go Figure!
