The biore coupon doesn’t expire until 12/31. Awesome!

  2. KellyJ

Yeah Think I will wait for a good deal on regular size items. as apposed to trial.

  3. Minnesota

Just an FYI…..I went to WalMart and found several great coupon deals only to have a WalMart employee say they would not take them. An example is Dove any size and they would not accept a smaller Dove deordorant. Tide any size same thing. Many other ones. The sales personnel said, “Not in the picture, we won’t accept them.” I emailed WalMart and recieved no response. Personally the store here was EXTREMELY messy, they had many unstocked shelves, and the sales personnel were extemely rude about coupons. I would really like to say they responded and things are better but not the case. This was very disappointing especially considering all the ads saying they want to help us save in this economy.

I also had the same issue at my local Walmart in Muskegon they refused to take the coupons even though I kept trying to tell them it said ANY did not exclude trials, and did not have to be the item in the picture, but they would not budge. 🙁 Ugh

  4. Stephanie

My Walmart will not take coupons that have overage. Like the KISS Nails were $1.87 and the coupon was for $2 off. They wouldn’t accept the coupon, since it offered overage. There wasn’t a person in the store who knew how to reduce the coupon value either. And I don’t understand why they think it has to be the item pictured when the coupon itself has a written statement on how the coupon is supposed to be used.

    • Kira

They can adjust them. I’m not sure what key they hit but it rings in as vendor coupon. It depends on the cashier in my case, some will adjust them down and others don’t care unless it beeps.

      • Teresa H.

Thats correct. I used to work at Walmart as a cashier. I only checked the expiration date, and scanned them. If the machine beeped..I would have to look into why. I never came across a customer problem. The coupon said “ANY” and say the picture was of chocolate flavor and customer bought vanilla. Something stupid like that. If it still would not except it, I would type it in as a vendor coupon and enter amount.

As for adjusting. All they have to do is instead of scanning and having the coupon beep..if it even beeped in the first place. They just hit “vendor coupon” and it will ask what amount. They hand key it in, and cross out $ amount on coupon, and write “redeemed X amount.” Nothing hard about that, but I agree that the stores need to have a training course in coupons.

Lots of cashiers I knew of were afraid of getting into trouble over this and that. I also worked in the accounting office where we dealt with the coupons. The only questionable coupons was say a zillion of the same coupon from one register. The management would want to see why… If management wanted us to look into it..we would have to pull that register #, and view all transactions. Finally after an hour, we’d find it and see a transaction where a customer bought say 20 shampoos..and used 20 coupons. As long as the coupon didn’t specify one per transaction, or one per customer..then the manager would say ok, everythings cool..it was done right.

It just depends on how they were trained, and what the management/store manager thinks or wants.

I had the same issue with WalMart last night. They wouldn’t take my $1 off ANY Tide product coupons when I purchased the Tide sample sizes because of the picture on the coupon. This was after explaining to 1 cashier and 2 so-called managers.

Then I went to Target and after 1 cashier and 2 managers, they finally adjusted my coupon value and accepted the coupon.

on the razors-my coupon printed out $2 on ONE schick disposable razor-did I print the right one?

    • Danielle

I was wondering the same thing!! Will that work on the packages?

  6. kelly

I keep looking for the .97 clearasil and I have yet to find it. any help? Also, where would the biore travel size be located?

    • Jennifer S

I could never find the clearasil either I think some stores don’t carry all sizes. But check the travel section for the 1 oz sizes. Also you might try Target I have better luck with them then Walmart on travel size bottles.

    • skc676

Our store has it, but I can’t find the coupon… new to this! 🙂

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just went to walmart today and have done the $1.97 schick razors many times before, the one i normally go to said they couldn’t take it, even w/ a corporate policy.

  8. Sabine

I personally find it a huge consumption of time to hunt down travel sizes and hope that the store allows overage. We get tons of free samples in the mail, many from Wal-Mart. Travel sizes are nice to have, but on a practical level, they aren’t worth much.

How much is in a travel size, anyway, 1 ounce? I’ll bet you are receiving more than one ounce free when you use the high value coupons toward a larger product. If you indeed travel, buy an inexpensive set of smaller plastic containers to use as a travel version.

The time spent hunting them down and arguing with cashiers and management is better spent (even from a financial perspective) on other pursuits.

Economics teaches us that everything we do carries an opportunity cost, so if we are running around fretting about obtaining a miniscule product for free, we are missing out on something else that would bring us more gain.

    • Sabine

Just found the full-size product pictured above on the Biore website. It is 5 oz. At the price for the 1 oz product pictured above, the larger version would be $9.85. I’m quite sure Wal-Mart is not charging $9.85 for the full-size product. Using the coupon for the travel size is a little like wasting the coupon.

      • Jennifer S

Honestly I find it exciting to see if I can get the travel size items for free. We still use them even if we aren’t traveling. Like when there was a ton of the baby shampoo coupons I have never had to buy my son baby shampoo full size bottles. Now tell me that isn’t a deal?

    • KellyJ

Like Collin Posted. I collect travel items that I will never use (but can get for free) for Soldiers overseas. Or Even take them to local shelters. I don’t run all over town looking for it, but if I am at a store I will certainly go on a hunt to find it so they can benefit.
I have also got the free travel because Frankly. I don’t want to spend money on something I may not like anyways. This way I can try things out and not have to spend the extra money, Because we all know. There are usually more great coupons that will help if I want to purchase the full size in the future.

      • Leah

I don’t search them out, either, but if I’m already shopping at the store, I might as well pick a few things up for free. I have used them for traveling, or in my son’s diaper bag, or just when I run out of toothpaste/bodywash/shampoo to tide me over until I buy a full size. I don’t usually bother to argue w/ a cashier, though, I just tell them to take it out of my cart if they won’t give me the deal.
Oh, and FWIW, at travel toothpaste is around 1 oz, a full size is around 6 oz, so for me (who only uses around a tube/month), getting 6 free small toothpastes/month is worth not having to buy toothpaste.

      • skc676

Ronald McDonald House also accepts new trial sized items for use in their free housing for medical reasons.

    • MommySpendsLess

I agree. I don’t clip my coupons until I need them and with a 9 month old that just discovered mobility, her nap time is too precious to me to spend it finding coupons for one-time use bottles of Tide 🙂 The biggest deterent for me is arguing with cashiers though. If I knew the coupon would be accepted 100% of the time without complaint I might be tempted for a few items.

With so many high value or BOGO detergent coupons, I can’t remember the last time I paid more than $1 for 32 loads. CVS takes care of my personal care items for around the house. I stocked up on Aveeno baby wash and lotion for $0.79/bottle when Kmart had doubles. We don’t travel very much and never by plane (hubby’s terrified of flying) so samples help me save space and if I don’t have a mini version I just bring one of my smallest full-sized freebies.

That being said, for those of you that save money/donate this way – happy searching! Oh and let us know when the stores finally come around 🙂

  9. Jennifer S

My Wal-mart had the wheatables for $1.98 until last week they raised the price up to $2.77!!!! Guess too many people were getting them for $0.48. Ugh now I will have to watch for a good sale.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just went into walmart today and they had the wheatables at over 4.00.
I just bout one not that long ago for .48 cents with my coupon

    • Kim

Yeah my WM did the same thing on the crackers…I was so mad!!!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I can’t find the Libby’s coupon. What zip is this under?

    • Jennifer S

There is a $1/2 Libby fruit coupon under zip code 66203.

  11. Steph

Our Walmart has the large original box of Cheerios down from $3.50 to $2.50. Then there’s the $.55 coupon. Pretty good deal.

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got a total of 10 items: Glade Sense & Spray, Nexcare bandages, crest and colgate kids toothpaste, crest w/scope toothpaste, uncle bens 90 sec rice bags, bic pens, windex wipes, refried beans and flour tortillias all that for only $8.59 w/ tax! WOOT!

  17. becky.e

After abandoning WalMart for months, I was pleasantly surprised. I got the Digornos pizzas for only 3.50. Not only was my cashier friendly, but she told me they will also accept competitor’s coupons. She said they throw them away, but they will take them. I will be giving WalMart a second look.

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Same thing here ive always hated walmart now even more

  19. Tara

    The Armor-All coupons are gone

  20. Amy

Hi! I am new to couponing and have a quick question. I found the Gillette Body Wash for Men at WalMart for $3.50. Can I use the buy one get one free coupon AND the $4.00 off two coupon to get both items free? Still trying to figure things out and don’t want to cause problems for anyone or my self 🙂 Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

    • Rebekah

I am new also, and I asked one of my couponing friends that same question, and she said no because they say “Limit One Coupon Per Purchase.” She said that you can stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons (like Target has their own store coupons), but not 2 manufacturer coupons. Hope this helps 🙂

  21. Kristen

Just to let you guys know….my local Walmart had Tide detergent for $4.97, so after the $1/1 coupon, it ended up being $3.97!! Also, Wheaties Fuel cereal is $2.50/box, so after the .75/1 coupon, it ends up being $1.75! Not as good as free cereal, but my husband loves this stuff so I try to find it when its not $4/box!!

  22. skc676

When printing the Biore Skincare Product coupon on 5/23/10, it now states that it excludes trial sizes.
