Don’t forget about the FREE Welch’s grape juice on sale for $2 using the Facebook coupon! I price matched mine at Walmart:)
Hooked On Bargains$, thanks for the reminder. I forgot I printed the Welch’s Q. Thanks Collin, for all you do!
Just an FYI I think the $2 price ended yesterday with the old ad. I went tonight and it was 2.35. Still not a bad price!
Does Family Dollar take a Family Dollar coupon and Manufacturer coupon for the same item?
Yes they do. I verified this with the manager at my store.
i JUST WENT TO fAMILY dOLLAR AND WHILE THE CASHIER ACCEPTED THE $1.OO mANUFACTURE COUPON FOR A REACH TOOTH BRUSH IT WOULD NOT TAKE THE INTERNET $2.00 OFF TWO BECAUSE HER MACHINE WOULD NOT LET HER SELECT TWO ITEMS AT THE SAME TIME TO PROVE I BOUGHT TWO. UGH! Well…I got one tooth brush since I did not have a policy with me.,……my bad!
The register beeps because it can’t match up 2 items. It does that for any $ off more than one item. All they do at my Family Dollar is scroll on the screen and match each item with the actual amount off for that item. Hope that makes sense lol
my family dollar will not except any coupns…every thing beeps and they look at you like you are doing something wrong. Just not worth the hassle.
If I buy just the toothbrushes and Werthers, will the register beep? Will I need to purchase another item to absorb the free items? Does that make any sense? I’ve never shopped @ FD, but I’m not above free!
I would like to know does Family Dollar take inter-net printed coupons? I have tried in the past but they tell me they dont accept internet coupons. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is the Family Dollar coupon policy – https://www.familydollar.com/Pdfs/CouponPolicy.pdf
Family Dollar Stores, Inc. Coupon Policy
Family Dollar accepts Manufacturer’s and Family Dollar issued coupons
(including internet coupons) that meet these requirements:
Coupons must be original (no photocopies)
Coupons must have a scan-able barcode or valid promotion code
Coupons must have a printed expiration date
Coupons can be redeemed only for items sold at Family Dollar, and can
be redeemed only for the exact same item (package weight, size, etc.)
Coupons for free items are only accepted if a purchase is required to get
one free
Maximum of two coupons per item. One coupon must be a Manufacturer’s
Coupon and the second coupon must be a Family Dollar Coupon as long
as neither coupon states that it is not valid with other coupons
Family Dollar will NOT accept coupons that:
Are from other retailers
Are expired
Are internet coupons without a scan-able barcode and/or promotion code
Contain the combination of an invalid barcode that won’t scan and
promotion code that the register will not accept
Are for “free” items, unless a purchase is required (i.e. Buy one get one
free is acceptable)
Do not have a “remit to:” address on the coupon
In addition:
“Cash Back” will not be issued if the value of the coupon is greater than
the purchase price of the item.
thanks for posting this! I’ll have to print it out and take it with me tomorrow. The Reach coupon beeped today for me too and the cashier called the manager who told me they didn’t accept internet coupons…and I couldn’t argue b/c I didn’t know their policy…:-p Now I just have to decide if I really want to go back there and make them figure out how to make it work!
I’ve seen Werther’s $1 coupon mentioned before – mine states it is for “original caramel chocolate” found in the chocolate section. Walgreen’s wouldn’t accept it on regular Werther candy. The chocolate sells for $3.49 at Walgreens. Will Family Dollar take this coupon when it isn’t caramel chocolate?
exactly! I got the coupons when this deal was posted weeks back. I went to FD and in 7 stores, I could not find the werthers chocolates for a $1. Caramels YES, chocolates NO! That tells me everyone was using this coupon on the wrong item! I am surprised no-one said anything before.
I was just coming to ask this too! When it was posted for Dollar General I checked and no chocolate and now I checked Family Dollar and no chocolate. I didn’t even try to use the coupon though, because I don’t want to mess it up at my store they are real friendly to couponers!
Family Dollar’s coupon policy is still very vague…It will not give you “cash back” if the value of the coupon is greater than the purchase price of the item. OK, that’s obvious. But, will you still get the full value of the coupon and have to add a filler or will they just “take off” the price of the item, ultimately making it free?
I don’t think it works that way at Family Dollar. I had an item like that before and I had other items that would have absorbed it, but it wouldn’t let her do it she tried. She even asked the manager if they could adjust it, but it was a no go. I’m not sure what the actual policy is for that though.
I had a major issue with Family Dollar today. I tried to use the visine coupon and they said it didn’t scan and therefore they couldn’t accept it(this was the coupon from the newspaper). The cashier said that it would have been, “like free, and that just wouldn’t be right.” I let that one go, then I tried to use the reach toothbrush coupons and they would not scan either. The girl at the register took out the sign with the store rules on it and started reading it to me. I told her not to bother explaining the store rules and these coupons work just fine everywhere else. Has anyone else had issues like this. I have never shopped with coupons at Family Dollar.
This was my first visit to our local Family Dollar. I was buying a couple of containers of lysol wipes and then planned on using the reach $2/2 toothbrush coupons. They beeped when the cashier tried to ring them up, and he said “I don’t think they’ll work b/c then the toothbrushes would be free” and I thought to myself, “that’s the only reason why I’m here!” He called up a manager who also said they wouldn’t work so I just kept my coupons and didn’t buy the toothbrushes – guess I’ll use the coupons elsewhere!
Hmm. I think some of the Family Dollars aren’t trained on how to enter those coupons. The cashier at mine did it. It was funny, because she said “you just got those free” I guess she didn’t realize I was getting 4 visine free too lol. They always compliment you on how good you do!
The toothbrush coupon beeped and they took it but said from now on when internet coupons beep they won’t take them. Apparenty the store manager didn’t even know that her system beeps if the coupon is off 2 items.
I ended up going to 2 family dollar stores. The first store said that limit one coupon per item means you can only use one coupon total. And than when the visine coupon beeped for only one item she said thats because we don’t accept coupons for free items…..Family Dollar don’t be giving anything away free. This was the store manager. Won’t be shopping at that location any more. I called corporate and made them aware of the situation.
My Family dollar store beeped when I tried to use the $2 off visine which was $2. She was puzzled, couldn’t figure it out, wouldn’t ask anyone for help. So I told her to forget it and left. I emailed corporate and the regional manager called me back and said that you can not use a coupon for free items according to the coupon policy. I told him that I had read the coupon policy several times and it does not say that. It says you cannot use coupons for free items. It says nothing about using a coupon that makes the item free because of the $$ amount of the coupon. He preceded to argue with me and I told that he did not know his own policy and I would not be shopping in Family Dollar. Please someone tell me if I am reading the policy wrong.
