I’ve never used this program before, so I have a question. If you can do 2 per day, does that mean you can be refunded for a total of 14 of the same thing if you go every day. Or does it mean you can only do 2 items a day and only be refunded the full price of 1 of each thing? I hope that I don’t sound stupid, but I wanted to try these deals and I don’t want to mess them up!

    • Lpmousse

Bonnie- it’s fine to ask questions here. I’ve asked many questions here and gotten great answers. As far as I understand it, you can buy 2 of each item every day for 7 days, and get fully rewarded for the amount of money that you spent. I bought 3 pairs of scissors in April over 2 days, and got fully rewarded back the money for all 3 pairs (plus all the other stuff I got). I’m a single gal and just don’t need that many supplies, but I gifted some of them to a friend who was starting his own business, some to the church where I work, and spread them around.

    • jessica

You don’t get refunded per se…
You get a “reward card” good only at Office Depot for the amount you spent on the items.
As far as I understand it, the rewards do not “roll”, i.e. you cannot use your reward card to earn more rewards.

  2. QueenValerie

Hey I am wondering the same thing Bonnie… Sounds fun, but not so sure what I need to do..LOL

  3. lauren H

I have a question too. I am new to this program. Can you earn rewards when you use the reward gift cards?

    • jessica

I’m pretty sure you do not. Office Max is the only one of these stores that seems to let you “roll” the rewards.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I shopped @ Office Depot the last time they had the same promotion 100% back. At that time, I could bought 2 items per product per day. It was in 04/11/10, and I still haven’t received my reward yet. I called customer service and they told me that the reward will arrive in August. I hope it will come then.

Look like this time, they limit to only 2 items per day. But you can always come back the next days to get all you want to buy to 14 items in total and get all that back in rewards. Just remember, OD rewards are very slow to arrive. I got the similar deals from Staples in late April, and they already sent my rewards at end of May.

    Still it’s a good deal!

PS: You are not going to earn rewards if you use gift cards to buy these items. They told me that the last time.

    • Pamela J

The rewards are only sent out every QUARTER. I also did those deals in April and haven’t reicieved my card but I can look up my info on line and it shows me how much money I have coming to me. I will just have to wait a little longer to get it.

    • klester3705

Did you get your rewards? They are refusing to pay either me nor my dad for a 100% promotion in November.

  5. Ashley

I have not done this program myself but a few weeks ago I got an email to sign up and they gave me $5 in Rewards. You need to have $10 in Rewards to “cash out”. They will send you a rewards check 30 days after you hit your $10 +. Then you can use that reward check to spend it on anything you like in-store.

    • Lpmousse

Ashley- that’s not completely true. You do need to get up to $10 to cash out, but it’s done on a quarterly basis, so you won’t get your reward for April to June until early August.

  6. Lpmousse

I’m a big Office Depot shopper, and have been a rewards member for years. I did this back in April, and got a few of many of the items on the freebie list. I even used a $15 off $75 or more coupon, so I made some money on the deal. I checked and you can buy Forever stamps with your gift card. (I confirmed this with 2 different store managers, and did it with the Rewards gift card I got the other day for the 1Q of the year.) Snatch these up before the price goes up next year.

The rewards program with OD is pretty slow, but just wait for your gift card in August for the April deals, and maybe these will be included on it. They do it on a quarterly basis, so rewards for April to June are mailed out in early August. Your reward will come- mine is $236 today. Yippee! I figure with these full rebate items, I’m getting each item I purchase with the gift card and to get the gift card half price. Pretty sweet deal!

I work at office depot and there are many things this week that are giving you 100% back on your rewards card and if you get anything done in the copy and print center you get 50 % back on your rewards card as well.

  8. Sean

Is there any way to see the items that are being rewarded? Also, do you need a coupon for any of these like the paper? It seems to me the coupon I had made the paper free, I just paid the tax?? I don’t want to purchase things I don’t need in expectation of the refund. Thanks for any help!

  9. Wendy

I have a couple other questions. Is there an expiration on the money/time limit to use it? Can you use it for other 100% back items?

    • Janet

All the gift cards have expiration dates of about 3 months. Do NOT use your rewards card to pay for the free items. Office Depot was not very good about letting me know that if I used the card on free items that I would not get rewards(I was thinking rolling bucks). There IS small print on the form when you get (or don’t) that rewrds can not be used to get the “free” items. I was ticked when my gift card was lower than anticipated. I felt that, that information should have been clear in the flyer and/or the store.

    • Mitchell Wischmann

If these are in fact gift cards, then they should not expire. It’s illegal for gift cards to have an expiration date in Minnesota.

      • jessica

They aren’t actually gift cards. They are similar, but they are called “reward cards” and they do expire.

    • jessica

If you use a rewards card for other 100% back items, you will not get your rewards on your purchase.

  10. K

    Can someone clarify this program?

At OfficeMax, for example, I have been told that when you purchase an item and then get a reward, you cannot use those rewards for any other reward.

So, for example, I did this promotional, and then when I future “rewards” promotional comes up, IF I use those rewards on the “new promotional,” I then will NOT GET the next rewards.

Is this the case with Office DEPOT?

This is what I understand so far:

Rewards are issued quarterly, AFTER you have $10 of rewards points.

    Rewards are slow to come.

You can use $10 off $50 (example) coupons in conjunctions with the rewards program.

You have to sign up for the program.

You can use rewards to buy “forever” stamps.

    Do the rewards expire?

Thanks to anyone who can so yes or no to each of these points or clarify.

    • jessica

Yes, rewards expire. They are good for about 3 months.

If you use a rewards card on another deal that offers rewards back (such as these 100% reward deals), you will NOT get the rewards. In other words, you can’t “roll” reward cards.

  11. CJ

I’ll be getting a $161 rewards card in August for all the feebies I bought in April. So I’m skipping the 100% items this time around, except for the printer paper. Cant pass up free printer paper! Also if you’re a Rewards member you get $3 back for each printer cartridge you bring in to be recycled. I’ve been a member for almost a year and am very pleased with the program.

  12. Emily

Can I purchase these online, or is it an in-store only deal? I tried adding some to my cart online, but they’re coming up at a much higher price. Not sure what is going on. Anyone know?

  13. Jamie

I have a question as well – the limit is 2 of EACH item per day not 2 Items per day correct? Also if you sign up online they immediately email you a $10/$50 coupon, I plan to use this tomorrow if it’s a limit of 2 of EACH item per day. I can always use the rewards to pay for bubble wrap.

  14. Stacy

Same question as Emily…are these offers available online?

    • Stacy

Ok, to answer my own question, I found:
“Visit https://www.myworkliferewards.com to view the complete list of qualifying items. Offer is valid in store, online, by phone or fax from 6/20/10 – 6/26/10.”

  15. Wendy

I just checked my account and they only gave me 1% back in rewards. Unfortunately, it’s after their customer service hours (M-F 9a-8p) for me to call them. Has anyone else gotten only 1% back??

    • Jaxona

I noticed the exact same thing. I submitted a complaint through the “contact us” form, but will see if I get a response. Frustrating!!!

    • klester3705

Did you ever get anything? They are refusing to pay me anything for a promotion in November.

  16. Samantha

This quarter is my first time to use the program as well. It appears from the website that the current week’s offers and reward status are not posted yet. I am assuming that we can check our status next week??? I can see the purchases I made back in April and also my reg. and paper purchases that are the 1% and 10% amounts.
