Isn’ t the townhouse coupon for 9.5 oz or larger?

  2. megan

couldn’t you just use 2 of the olay B1G1 coupons on that deal and get both free?

    • muser

you’d have to buy 4 in order to use 2 BOGO coupons.

  3. muser

    >>Use the Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon from the 7/11 SS
Use the $1/1 coupon from the 6/6 PG, 7/4 PG or the Rouge Magazine June issue<<

Has anyone ever had success doing this at a CVS, where you combine a BOGO MQ with a money off MQ for the product for which you are paying? I never have been able to do this at any CVS.

I emailed corporate and asked if it was allowed and they refused to answer. They just gave me the canned "coupon rules" regarding BOGO store sales.

    • kelley-nc

Muser – same here, my CVS absolutely hates dealing with coupons and only allow the use of 1 coupon when doing a BOGO. I’ve tried at a couple of different stores too and I get the same thing….I never argue with them since it only seems to escalate their frustration…so it’s not just your store.

      • Nicole

Call corporate and ask them and tell them abotu your experince. I did this because they told me I couldn’t use a BOGO with a BOGO coupons, I got a $10 gift card, $5 ecb and a written letter from the manager explaining that the employees have now been trained on coupons.

    • Lydia

I have been able to do it.

    • Janet

I do it all the time at all the CVS stores around me. My closest one is my fav and they are very coupon friendly.

  4. Kathryn

All current CVS shopppers, is it worth it to drive 25-30 miles to a CVS?

    • ejlillyaker

Tough question, CVS is great but unless you are going that way already probably not. In my opinion to really make out at CVS you have to be close enough to stop in quite often, once a week or so. i personally don’t do a HUGE shop at CVS, i might pick up two things a week, like maybe hte CVS panty liners and maybe some laundry detergent because i am almost out. I like to keep my out of pocket expenses low too. so i generally don’t spend more than $3-$5 per week at CVS. Again in my opinion to get the most out of CVS you need to use the magic coupon machine frequently and you need to be able to get there easily to use your ECB (good on you next purchase) rarely do i turn around and use ECB in the same week.
now if you had some other reason to be there every other week or so, then it would be worth it, but on it’s own, if you have another store closer, you are probably going to be less frustrated just going there. HTH! and if someone disagrees please share!

      • muser

No, I agree. I have a CVS within walking distance, so I can go there a couple times a week. I spend very little at CVS and walk out with oodles of stuff, but that’s because I always do the ECB deals. If you live 30 minutes away, there are times where you’re going to feel obligated to go all the way out there because your ECBS are going to expire the next day or whatnot.
And that can be a real drag!

    • Renny

it really depends on what you have closer than CVS, if you have a Rite Aid close, maybe not, but if you are going at least once a week anyway, absolutely. i’m lucky, my CVS is super-close & if I just shop in there 1 day a week, I do really well, very little oop, much less than at Wag’s, & neck & neck w/RA. I nearly always get a $5/30 when I scan my card at the coupon machine & I combine these w/their sales & my coupons to do great. i love CVS & would hate to do w/o it!!

    • Alana

I’d say no –especially this week. By the time I went out (3 hours since opening), only M&M’s were left. But if you have ECBs to burn, then ..yes.

      • Heather

My CVS just started accepting expired coupons AND Extra Care Bucks so I would say yes it is worth it.

  5. megan

i am totally confused about B1G1 coupons. some people say yes you can use two MQ B1G1 on two products to get them free and others say you absolutely can’t. does this just vary by store. i have used B1G1 to get two products free before like the SOBE life waters and the pretzel m&m’s. what’s the deal?

    • Stephanie

You can use 2 $$ off coupons on a store sale that is BOGO, but she’s talking about using a $$ off coupon together with a BOGO coupon on sale items. Some stores will allow it and some stores won’t.

  6. Stephanie

You can use a BOGO q with a BOGO sale to get two items free but if you want to use two BOGO q’s you have to have 4 items.

  7. megan

I have done both before though! this is really frustrating me. i understand the deal she is describing. what i am saying is i have done a B1G1 coupon with a B1G1 sale for 2 free and i have done 2 MQ B1G1 and gotten 2 free (at target and cvs). was it just a fluke that they let me do that? it didn’t beep or anything.

    • Leah

It’s a fluke…you’re not supposed to be able to do the latter. You can use a MQ BOGO free + a store BOGO free to get 2 free, but you shouldn’t be able to use 2 of the MQs unless you’re buying 4 products (paying for 2, getting 2 free).

  8. muser

Matching a BOGO coupon w/ a BOGO sale to get both items free is ok at some stores (e.g, CVS condones this and even has it in their emailed “coupon rules”) but pairing 2 BOGO coupons to get 2 items free was likely a fluke. I’ve never heard of that working for anyone until now.

    • muser

I just looked at the printed out copy of the email CVS sent me, and it expressly states that you cannot use 2 BOGO MQs on 2 items.

  9. kidsallgone

I hope I don’t get attacked for asking this, and I hope it’s a legitimate question (maybe others are wondering too):
If I have receipts for items that I’ve previously bought at CVS, but the total after using multiple coupons comes to maybe 1.00 or so (or just paid tax)…..what happens if I want to return some of the items? I have some Ivory (bars) soap that I got for free when I bought some OLAY body wash in June. After the body wash and soap, using my coupons, I just paid the tax. I have another receipt with the diabetic meter that I ended up paying tax. And another receipt with deoderants that I just paid tax. On all of those purchases, I received ECB’s. I have donated many things to the Homeless Shelter in the past and plan on it again soon. I called a couple schools to donate the meter, as well as a couple vet’s offices with no takers; and I probably need to return the items soon before it gets to be a long time after I “bought” them. I’ve also given my family/relatives a ton of things I get for free. So I was just wondering about these (about) 6 items. Any thoughts? I know there is some ethics involved, and I’m OK with just keeping them for….forever? Maybe eventualy donating them. I”m not asking for cash. A gift card would be fine. I buy my prescripts at the same store. I love this CVS. All the managers and cashiers are just super nice and accomodating….once accepting a Target coupon!! And I don’t want to take advantage of them, but thought I’d run this by you to see what you thought. I don’t even know what the CVS store would tell me. OK….your turn. Thanks!!

    • Leah

Well, I think they would deduct the ECB you earned from your return total. I’m not sure about the logistics of that.
I do know, though, that if you return items you bought with coupons, you will receive cash back for your OOP expenses and a GC for your coupon value. I know this because I bought an item that I realized was not what I thought it was (didn’t use it) and returned it. I told them that I had used coupons and that my OOP was $X (I had a receipt) and I was only expecting to get $X back. They insisted on giving me the store credit for the Qs since they get reimbursed for them, anyway.
As far as the ethics go…I’m not really sure what your reason is for returning the items (or what you’re expecting to receive in return– your $1 OOP?), so I can’t really say if it’s moral or not.

    • MommySpendsLess

Practical answer: If they didn’t cost you anything but a coupon and a few cents in sales tax, I would say it’s not worth the bother. Even if CVS is close to you, you still have to drive and take the time to do the return. Plus, and more importantly in my opinion, you don’t want to get flagged by your cashiers/managers as somebody who might be trying to pull one over on them. I’m NOT saying you are, just that returning things that you used coupons for and everything MIGHT look funny, kwim? Especially the diabetic monitor, they might wonder why you would buy one if you’re not diabetic and if you are diabetic, why would you suddenly want to return it.

Ethical answer: Personally, I wouldn’t return the items if you’ve already spent the ECBs you earned for “buying” them. As far as I know, once you cut the ECBs off the bottom of the receipt, there’s nothing on the receipt itself to show the cashier/manager that you got Bucks for buying those items. I’ve always wondered what would prevent an unscrupulous person from buying something that generates ECBs, spending the Bucks, then returning the item, except starting to get recognized at their local stores. If that info comes up when they scan the receipt or something, I hope another H2S reader lets us know. I’m NOT saying that that’s your goal. I understand that you’ve purchased things that you can’t use/donate/give away so you figure you may as well return them but PERSONALLY, I’d feel bad getting back full credit for something when I’d already spent the reward I got for buying it. You would get the refund for the coupon (at least that’s how they did it at my CVS when I bought something I thought was included in the promotion and wasn’t…they kept the coupon even though I’d just checked out and refunded me the OOP amount plus the coupon amount) but I kind of felt bad when they did that to me…like I was trading a coupon for cash and not actually getting the item. There again, I’ve wondered what would prevent someone from doing that over and over at various stores – buy say Huggies, use a $3/1 coupon then return the Huggies they never wanted in the first place and get $3 extra for the coupon…

Why don’t you put your unwanted items in a box on your porch and put a free ad on Craigslist/Freepeat/Freecycle/etc.? My local public library also had a donation box in their lobby that goes to a charity. I would also guess if you asked friends and family someone probably knows someone that could use the items. I didn’t know what to do with my blood sugar monitors either but I kept hold of them and my stepmother gave one to her neighbor and my mom remembered that a client’s son could use them. I made my $5, people got free medical supplies and everyone ended up happy 🙂

  10. Leah

BTW, most local charities (like Salvation Army & Harvest Home) will take ANYTHING. If they can’t use it for their “clients”, they’ll sell it and use the profits to help others. And I’m sure most homeless shelters could use bar soap!!

    • kidsallgone

      Thanks Leah! Appreciate your reply.
The reason I’m wanting to return them is because:
      1. I’m not using them.
      2. They’re sitting around taking up “space”
      3. I’ve already given my extras to my kids and/or shelters plenty of times (and plan on it again…just not anytime soon)
      4. I live about 30 minutes from a Goodwill and CVS is across the highway

I’m not sure that they could figure out how many ECB’s I got with the items (the Ivory bars were free but there were coupons for each, the meter I’m guessing I got $10? Not sure about the deoderant, plus I kept 3 and returning 3). There is also shampoo that I didn’t receive ECBs for and I paid 34 cents after man Q’s. There were also a couple CVS coupons used. I’m not looking to defraud CVS (not implying that you said I was). I’m just looking for opinions on how I should return them and how much (if any) money I should expect to get back. Thanks again for your reply Leah. And thanks to anyone else who I hope will put their 2cents in.

      • Renny

You should get the retail back, I believe (correct me if I’m wrong…) & they usually put it on a gc. I did this once, using coupons, & realized I had brought the wrong items & they just put the whole transaction amount on a gc. If you need the gc to buy something else, ok, and nearly anyone would take your extra stuff, local churches, etc, so it’s just up to you, I would say. hth.

      • Julie S.

I would not return the stuff. Donate it (tax credits!), garage sale it, and if no one will take it, throw it out. Returning it seems tacky, and would probably result in the CVS staff thinking you are trying to abuse the system.
Think about it this way: stores are not coupon cashing locations, and manufacturer would lose lots of money from reimbursing your coupons and paying for CVS’ ECBs, only to have you return their product. Manufacturer losing money on deals could cause them not to advertise with coupons or ECB events, and CVS could become more stringent with their coupon/return policy.

    A) The Prevacid $10 q that is linked is for the 42ct box. This deal is only the 28ct box.
    B) I often see this site and others saying I can use two Bioluxe or similar CVS-brand q’s from the RIB magazine on bogo sales. Like, the Bioluxe is bogo this week, and this deal says to use two of the $2 q’s from the RIB magazine. However, those q’s say only one may be used per CUSTOMER (not purchase/item). When I have attempted this in the past, the register beeps at the second q and will not take it unless the cashier manually overrides it. So I don’t think it’s really fair to post this as a scenario when the q’s specifically exclude it. Especially for newbies who are trying to work these deals and may not understand why they’re getting denied at the register.

      Hi Jen-

Thanks for pointing out these 2 errors…I have since removed the $10/1 Prevacid coupon that was only valid for the larger size and replaced it with the $5/1 coupon from the 6/13 Parade magazine. I have also corrected the Bioluxe scenario to reflect the use of only one Bioluxe coupon since the coupon states one per customer. I work really hard to provide you with accurate and helpful deal scenarios and I appreciate you taking the time to point out when something is not correct. Hope you are having a great weekend! 😀

The $1/2 Keebler Townhouse is for size 9.5 oz or larger, I dont think you can use it with the 4-8 oz.

i dont have that 6/20 rebate insert so is there an address for that so i could just send it or do i have to have that rebate form for the Zederid?

    • Renny

You will have to have the insert rebate, but you could probably buy one at a coupon clipping service or trade for one on a site like weusecoupons.com (hope it’s ok to post that!!, so sorry if not…).

    • Brianna

I have an extra one, Keisha. Email me your address, bridriz04@yahoo.com. I also have 2 more if anyone wants them, email me- 1st come, 1st serve.

  15. Lili

Can anyone print out the coupons on pull up?? Does nt seems to b printing for me… Sad… But manage to snag clearance mega pk diaper for pampers at 8.99 woohoo

  16. Shelly T.

I did this deal tonight: Pantene Pro-V Shampoo, Conditioner 12.6 oz. or Styler 1.9-11.5 oz. 2/$6.97 = $2 Ecb (Limit 2)
Use 2 $2/1 Styler coupons from the 6/27 Parade magazine
    Final Cost $0.49 each!*
    * This can be applied to the Olay $10 rebate when you spend $30 on select products.

*PLUS* I still had the $2.00 off Pantene CVS scanner coupon to use toward it. I got them both for FREE and some overage!

  17. Shelly T.

So, funny story about my CVS visit Saturday evening. I was doing the Pantene, Olay, CVS Pantyliners deals, and I had a rain-check for the BOGO FREE M&M Pretzels. My rain-check was for 8(the limit) and I had 4 BOGO FREE coupons, making them all free. When the cashier started to ring everything up I told her I had the rain-check, and she applied it. I then started handing her all my coupons(I hand them over one at a time). After the fourth coupon, she stops and voids my transaction and calls over a manager. The manager asked her why did she do a void and she said, “BECAUSE SHE KEEPS HANDING ME COUPONS!” LOL The cashier then tried to tell me that I could not get them for free, and I nicely explained per their coupon policy that I could. The manager was fine with everthing and told her to go ahead. Long story, but I thought it was priceless when she said that. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I had a similar problem when I matched the BOGO M&Ms sale w/ the BOGO MQ a few weeks ago. The cashier began ringing them then stoped and said, “I don’t think this is right??” I assured him it was and he completed the transaction. They have a hard time letting items go for FREE but sometimes it works out that way and I am so glad to take advantage of it when it does 🙂

the $2 coupon for contact solution is no longer valid

  19. cheryl l.

Tried several times to get the BioTrue coupon to print on the B&L website – didn’t work. Tried this morning, and got a message that the offer is over!!! Everything else I tried to print worked except this so I have to assume it’s their website that caused it. VERY AGGRAVATING! Tried to do “contact us” and they have you jump thru hoops…gave up.

  20. jvkom

So pleased with my CVS trip this morning. I NEVER get everything I want on my list bc items are always gone. But today I got everything I wanted!! I did pay $22 out of pocket but I got $21 in ECBs to use later. Very successful trip 🙂

    • jvkom

Oh and there was still no signage on the Biotrue at my store but it came out right at the register.

  21. Karen

FYI … The Zegerid rebate says that “we will reimburse your purchase price minus any coupons or discounts, up to 12.99, etc.” so you might pay 2.99 (9.99 – 4.00 Q – 3.00 ecb) and get back the 5.99 rebate check. If the person reviewing your rebate isn’t picky, they might reimburse the full 9.99 but there’s a chance they may not.

    • Gillian

I read the fine print as well and noticed the line about reimbursement only for the amount after coupons. However, I purchased many items on my trip today, Zegerid OTC included and I have no idea how they will be able to tell if I used a coupon on it or not. Beside the item it shows the in-store savings (that it was on sale for $9.99 instead of $12.49) but the coupons are not deducted until the end of the receipt. It lists all 15 or so of my coupons but all it says is “coupon” or “mfr coupon” – it does not list specific manufacturer’s. I’m going to try and submit it and see what happens – I may just profit from the EBC’s or maybe it will end up being a moneymaker!

  22. Olga

Zederid rebate states that it will be reimbursing only the amount after the coupons, etc. So, at best it is only $3 money maker (the 3ECB you get back). So, if you pay for it using ECBs, since it shows on the receipt as a coupon, you may end u getting no rebate at all.

  23. Lori Clark

Just to let you know…my store did not have the pretzel M&M’s but they let me get any other kind of M&Ms and the machine printed about the ECBs just fine.

    • MommySpendsLess

To clarify: Did the register automatically print the ECB’s (so the deal is working on all varieties) or did the manager/cashier print them for you?

  24. KAT

Could someone help me with thi?. I want to do the deal that Colin posted about:
    Celsius Green Tea 4 pk. $7.99 = $7.99 Ecb (Limit 1)
Use the $3/1 coupon from the 4/25 SS or 5/23 SS
Final Cost as low as FREE + a $3 moneymaker!
However, I could not find this product listed in the CVS flyer this week. What page is this on?
Is this a regional sale? HELP!

    • Shannon

I did find it posted online, but all I can say is do a price check. Couldn’t find the coupon here in Indiana, but I found an approved pdf here: https://www.trycelsius.com/coupon.pdf.

    • Shannon

Sorry, forgot to say that it is only for $2/1; therefore only making it a $2 MM.

    • jferlee

Has anyone found the celsius 4 pk coupon in the 5/23 SS? My insert doesn’t have it, and I started collecting inserts in May, so I don’t have the 4/25 insert. Just wondering if anyone else has that coupon or if it might be a misprint. I’m in illinois, so maybe that makes a difference, too. I also don’t have the $.75/2 coupon for the M&Ms from the 7/11 RP. Guess I’m unlucky with my inserts this week. 🙂

    • jferlee

Thank you, Andrea. It worked. 🙂

  25. Tiffany

I didn’t have the .50/1 Ivory soap coupon, it was only .25 🙁 Boo! Oh, and I couldn’t find the Xtra detergent coupon either! I hate when that happens! I normally buy my regional papers, hubby must have brought home a local! Arg! LOL

  26. Jennifer

what does this mean when i see Use the $0.50/1 coupon from the 6/6 PG? what does the pg mean or see Use the $1/1 coupons from the 4/18 SS? what do these mean ?

  27. Leslie L Baker

Collin, How many All You Magazines do you subscribe to? Just wondering…. some of your deals require 4 q’s from one issue….I subscribe to one but wondering if i should do more!

  28. Rose

I have a question: In my p&g the coupon for the Ivory said .25 off any One size ivory. and it has a pic of dish soap ivory. Can I still use that on the 3 pack of ivory? or will they give me a hard time. I think that the one size means the one size the bar pack but I am not sure I am right. Any ideas?

  29. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I can’t find the .75/2 M&M coupon anywhere, can anyone help? I am in NW Indiana

    • Alisha

I am in NW Indiana too. I don’t think we got it hun.

Anyone have any tips on how to print that Brita refill pk coupon? I signed up for the silly reminder and I still can’t find it on that page. That’s a great deal, even w/o the coupon…but I still want the coupon 😉
