I have some possibly great news for all you Walgreens shoppers. Sue over at Save the Coupons signed up on Walgreens.com to receive special offers and ad previews via email. Well, guess what appeared in her inbox this evening?! A $5 off $25 Walgreens coupon! It appears she received this coupon because she was signed up for these email offers! If that’s the case, I would highly suggest heading on over here to sign up too (bottom right hand corner). Let us know if you receive a similar coupon!

I just got my coupon! Thanks!

In my area Walgreen’s bought Duane Reade and is now competing against itself by keeping the DR brand. in the Union Square area, to celebrate the grand opening of a Duane Reade that is HUGE, there are $5 off of $15 all over the place. Maybe Walgreen’s is stepping up their game as well.

Wow, Mitch, I’m in NYC too. Didn’t realize Walgreens bought DR, but VERY good to know, as I live in Queens, 2 blocks from Walgreens, and work directly across the street from DR.

Also, my local Walgreens had an e-mail sign-up sheet near the register for coupons. Wonder if there’s something else going on as well.

Great I have a hard time spending my RR we get. And we get all these deals so cheap, how do you spend $25 or so!?? lol

    • Erin

Don’t forget if you have a Publix in your area you can use RR there and your coupons at Publix as well!!!…I use all my 5/25 at Publix, even CVS ecb can be used at Publix if your store considers them competitors!!!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yeah I wish!! No such luck here in MI

    • Tilla

if you have safeway grocery store you can use them there as well

      • Rachel

I read somewhere that you can use WAGS RRs at Meijer (for the previous Michigan responder). I cannot verify that for sure, but I will be giving it a try.

        • Amber

Never been able to. I’m fairly positive they don’t accept competitors’.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Won’t let me click sign up!! ;(

  7. Diane L.

I’ve been signed up for these E-mails for a couple of months, but I only received a coupon for $10 off $40 at Walgreens.com. No in-store coupon.

  8. steph317

i got the same thing! with all thwe coupons, i guess we will all have to trat ourselves to some coupon-less items!

  9. Lpmousse

I’ve gotten two $5 off $25 coupons. I never ever spend more than $25 at Wags, but I’ve gotten my bill up to $25 by buying diapers for a local food pantry. Then I donate the diapers, and get a couple of other things with coupons, and pay $20 for it all. Yay!

  10. Lisa

Only thing about the Wags $x/$xx is that it has to be AFTER all coupons and discounts 🙁 With the Easysaver rebates they used to have, it made it worth it sometimes b/c you could easily “turn it into cash”, but now that is gone, I never find a reason to spend that much, lol!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      that sucks.. Why bother then?

  11. Melissa

I got one about a week ago, the fine print reads that it is $25 after coupons and discounts… I used to buy the neutrogena with the mail in rebate for the full price…

  12. debtfreedicus

I happened to sign up for walgreens emails today and this showed up in my junk box. Thankfully I check my junk box!

  13. Julie

signed up the other day and got the same coupon $5 off $25 in-store.

  14. pbauerdorf

Yes its happenning I signed online Monday and I just got the coupon this morning in the email!!! and yes it read that $5 of $25 must be before taxes and AFTER all manufactures and walgreens coupons and discounts. I had never shop walgreens so I shall see if I get there and see how make this deal work!!!

  15. glolorey

I shopped at Walgreens yesterday which in my area (Virginia) gives a 15% discount to military on Tuesdays. When I have used this discount, I have had to check out at the cosmetic counter. When I was checking out at the cosmetic counter yesterday, there was a form to be filled out with name/email address on it. If you submitted your info, then Walgreens would give you $5 off of $25 . Waiting for my coupon!

  16. Debi

Actually, I got this and SCORED BIG TIME. I recieved this $5 off $25 in store coupon IN ADDITION TO a $10 credit at Walgreens.com for being a new customer. So, this is my completely related deal!!!!!!

And I actually NEEDED/WANTED all these things!!!!!!!!

    Thank you Collin!!!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry if this is a stupid question but did you do this transaction all online or all in-store or a mix of both? Because some of your discounts look like they’d be Walgreens.com online discounts on top of the in-store $5 off promo. I’m confused on how they can be combined! Thanks!

  17. megan

quick walgreens question. do they do coupon overage?

    • Lpmousse

I don’t think there’s any hard and fast rule about this. My favorite Wags cashier always allows me to get a little extra back on manufacturer coupons which go over, but Wags doesn’t have a hard and fast couponing policy. 🙁 You should watch Collin’s latest videos about Wags. They’re hysterically funny and show how disorganized Wags is. I hope you have a nice Wags by you. 🙂

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I live in S. CA and all of my Wags have had these signs all over the store windows and displays as you walk in so yes this deal is real for those who have not already signed up. If you have create a new email and dign that one up! I am just waiting until there is a good sale coming up so I can score big. 🙂

  19. Jo Ann

I got this today via email when I signed up my alternate email address. Now, I have never purchased $25 worth of stuff after mfr. coupons before. I need a good deal to use this and make it worth it. 🙂
