Looks like a great week! Can’t wait to get over there… by the way, did anyone else get an email survey from CVS, with $5 ECB as a thank-you for completing the survey? It came in my email last week. 🙂

    • Allison

I did! I was so excited! Made me even happier since I was going to buy Cokes this week!

      • linda yarnell

I got a survey this week via email and got $10 ECBs for doing it – I was stoked, the survey took less than ten minutes!!

  2. dwagnfly

There should be a Mead coupon in tomorrows paper (Redplum insert) $1 on any two (2) Five Star Products (excluding Academic Year Planning items) and a $2 on any one (1) Five Star binder, including Five Star Flex Hybrid NoteBinder.

  3. Shika

I did not received any emails from CVS this week… sually they send a $4 off 20 or something like that

    • Melissa R.

I didn’t get one either. This is the 3rd or 4th time in the past 5 or so months that I didn’t get a weekly email from them. I didn’t see much in the ad I need this week anyway, I may just get the Lysol thingy. Or take the week off since I don’t have any ECBs expiring this week anyway.

      • tarin_at_play

if there is something I’m looking to buy and I didn’t get an email I wait till Saturday. Sometimes they send an email the following weekend. One of my cvs’s is excellent at having both sales running on Sat around 5 so I get both weeks and use the coupon. I normally make out really well. Just a thought.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got up early and had a good trip at CVS and Target. Got 12 Sobes, 6 Ragus, 3 regular Band-aids, 3 90 page spiral notebooks, 2 Wacy Macs, 2 8 pack Juicy Juice, 6 Snack Packs, 1 Band Aid First Aid kit/bag, 3 Dora The Explorer Band Aids, and 3 Hello Kitty Band Aids for under 12 dollars. (Got the 12 Sobe, First Aid kit/bag, and 3 note books for free). Also, got $8 ECB and lots of coupons from CVS and Target ($25 GC for CVS transfer of prescription–used one this morning to pay for my CVS trip so no OOP).

Now clothes shopping for kids because it is tax-free weekend!

  5. msrossdaboss

How r the Schick razors pay$0, when they cost $8.97-5MQ=$3.97 to pay?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      +4 ecb

      • Kelly

I noticed that too, just a mistake I guess =) But you are right, you still have to pay $3.97 OOP.

        • Julie S.

Or roll an ECB for $3.97 or $4…

    • Tammy

      $8.97
      -5.00 coupon
      $3.97 OOP
      receive $4.00 ECB

Then there is a try me free rebate — which you get the before coupon price back so you will get $8.97 back on your rebate (I know this because I already got mine back)

So after everything it is a $9.00 money maker!!

  6. julie

we didn’t get the $5 off schick hydro coupon (insert crying sound here) LOL

    • Krystal

Some of the Schick Hydro’s at my store have coupons attached for a free Schick Hydro Shave Cream.

  7. april r

    weak week IMO lol

  8. Julie B

How are you able to get the next week specials on saturday without the cvs ad being available on Sunday.

    • Melissa R.

some ppl have access to the ads ahead of time and share. I ck a couple different places, iheartcvs.com (and iheartwags.com) and a grocery savings forum. Once one website posts it, it spreads like wildfire to other forums & blogs. Sometimes you can see the sneak peak ads 3-4 weeks out. Like I’ve been knowing about this weeks ad for 2 weeks now and have already seen the 8/15 ad. This really helps me plan and gather my coupons in advance!

    • Igot5ltlboyz

If your CVS isn’t open 24 hours, they usually run both sales (the current week, and the upcoming week which would start on Sunday) on Saturday. Just ask them!! Also, you can preview the sales ads for the current week, the next week, and sometimes the week after that for cvs by going to http://www.iheartcvs.com Hope this helps!!

    • Erin

I get a Saturday paper from our local community (they don’t publish Sunday papers). They have all of the Sunday coupons insert and sale ads. 🙂

    • Mandy

my CVS is open 24 hours, but they still start their sales early on Saturday. They also put out all their ad for the new week on Sat

  9. Julie B

    Thanks alot for the info.!!!!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hey, can you use your ECB’s to buy gift cards?

    • Haila

I don’t think so. If you look on the ECBs themselves, it lists the exclusions…

    • Krystal

No, you can’t use them on that.

    • Kim

No, but you can buy some items with ECBs and then return them. They will then put it on a gift card.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

why would you want to do that?

  11. jvkom

I am signed up for CVS emails but I have never received any….any suggestions?

  12. Mitch

I just got back shopping this weeks circular, thanks hip2save! 20 Free Sobe water, $.34 mouthwash that should be $7, and all the Fuze I can drink!
A million thanks, now where to stash it all!
    http://www.gaynycdad.com

    • judy

where did you get coupons for the fuze. i went to about 4 cvc stores and couldn’t find any.

  13. Shelly

The local paper doesn’t run on Sunday so we get the ads and coupons (although sometime they put them all in and sometimes they don’t) on Saturday. I just got done looking at next weeks ads.

I didn’t get the Schick Hydro coupon either. 🙁

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    QUESTION ON PRESCRIPTION COUPONS:
So having a C-section and know I will have one or two new perscriptions coming. Just got 2 coupons for $20/$25? gift card with new/transfered perscription. If I have 2 coming home from hospital can I use both of those coupons? Seems that I should be able to, just wondered if anyone had experience with this.

    • Melissa R.

Yes. Each RX has its own #, so you can use 1 GC coupon per RX. The Pharm will fill in the RX # on the coupon. DH had surgery in May and had 4 rxs. I used competitor q’s from Rite Aid & Kmart to get 4 GCs back.
Now, the downside about getting RX GCs though, is it reduces your quarterly spending by that amount (20 or 25$), then as you start redeeming your GC, it will add back up. Just want to pass that along b/c a lot of ppl don’t know that! I didn’t and I was like WHATTTT?? when I noticed my balance had dropped. After digging out a previous receipt and checking with another board, confirmed it deducts the GC amount.

      • Shelly T.

How are you getting the coupons for the gift cards? I never get them. 🙁

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Kmart has 4 $25 coupons printed together that you can pick up at Kmart–use to be able to print out on internet but can’t find it. Look for Target prescription $10 coupons in the newspaper–they print them about every 4-6 weeks. Last time was about 2 Sundays ago. CVS will accept competitor coupons. I used Kmart coupon for $25 and got a GC from CVS. Today I got a CVS $25 GC coupon from CVS magic machine :). Also, in my area local grocery stores put out their own GC coupons for prescriptions. I use those once in awhile. I try to get my prescriptions that don’t cost much OOP with the GC coupon but not always successful.

        • maletha

you have to sign your ec card up online. I also get free ecbs for special occasions. For example I got a $3ecb for my birthdday

  15. JessicaB

I was able to print $3 off Huggies snug and dry off Coupons.com again so that will make a pretty good deal on the diapers and I have a $2 off huggies cvs coupon!

    • JessicaB

I forgot to mention I was able to print a $4 off $20 purchase on iheartcvs.com

      • fairy dust

Thank you! That’s exactly what I needed. Coke and kitty litter, here I come 😀

      • CJ

How do you get the $4/20 coupons on iheartcvs.com to work at CVS if they beep because they dont match your card? I doubt my store would allow the cashier to push them through.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

ditto. I read her disclaimer and it says – … the emailed $/$$ coupons ($5 off $30, etc.) and free item coupons will beep “not for card” if they were not emailed to you. I’m pretty sure my store won’t override one of those beeps either.

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wonder if we did this Schick MIR last month if you can do another one now? Hmmnnn.

    • CJ

Nope, one rebate per person for the length of the rebate. Somtimes if a rebate is reissued later with a different starting and expiration dates you can do it again.

  17. Melissa R.

Sorry, its limit 1 rebate per person/address/household,

  18. Rhonda

The Dulcolax $5 rebate has been extended to 9/30/2010 if you haven’t sent it in yet. I just called to confirm it. There are rebates hanging on some of the bottles. Send it to your friends and family if you already did it!

    • Kavi Ravi

I just got them today at cvs and when saw the rebate form expired I was confused. Should I call them or just send in? Thanks for the help.

      • Randi

I called today about the rebate. just send it in.

        • MsKittyclipsinVA

I am so excited!! I picked up a bottle with the REBATE CERT. and will be submitting mine today as well 🙂 We are scoring big time on this one, Hip friends!

  19. Lindsay

Couldn’t: Colgate Total Advanced Whitening, Total Enamel Strength, Total Advanced Clean or Total Advanced Fresh Toothpaste 4oz+ Save $1/1 (8/28) from tomorrow’s SS be used for the Colgate and they would only be .40 each instead of .90??? Anyone know???

  20. Brianna

My CVS machine printed out a coupon: “$1/any 2 Caliber stationary items (pens, notebooks, etc.)”. If you received this too it should make the Caliber #2 Pencils FREE, or the Composition Books and Filler Paper $.34/2.

    • April

I’ve been getting them all week! I used one on this week’s ad for 8 FREE 2 pocket folders! (On sale 2/$.25)

  21. kidsallgone

I could have really used some $/$ CVS coupons yesterday (Saturday).
Still did sort of OK; but not one of my finest 😉
    I bought:
    (2) Clairol Hair = $12
    **Used (2) $2 off
    (3) Dawn = $3.00
    **Used (3) $1 off
    (2) Always pads = $6
    **Used (2) $1 off
    (2) Pantene = $7
**Used $BOGO (tried to also use a $1 off but it beeped & I didn’t pursue it since the BOGO was an expired coupon and when I asked if they would take a less-than-30-days expired coupon, she said if the register takes it, then it would be OK…and it did!)
    (1) 8 roll pkg Bounty Basic paper towels
**Got credit for $8 for buying $25 worth of certain items from the ad
    **Used $2 + $1 ECB
Total was about $36 before coupons & ECBs
Paid about $13 from a $25 gift card I had gotten from a transferred prescription
    So……$0 out-of-pocket!!
OK. I guess it was a good day 🙂
Paid $13 (which was equal to

  22. ahall

I bought the Dulcolax Balance and on the bottle I bought there was a $5 rebate! Score!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I bought mine with rebate form but it says good through 02/28/10… can I still use it? thanks

  23. SFrank

Several months ago someone posted how to refill the Lysol dispenser tubs with other soaps. Anyone remember how to do that? I bought one of them on sale today and am curious how to refill it less expensively than buying the Lysol refills. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  24. Pam

Just got back from CVS. I was able to find 2 Bic Soleil Twilight razors 4 pk + 2 bonus. I used the BOGO coupon with the $3 off coupon to get 12 razors for $0.49! Awesome!

    • RachelA

So, on the BOGO 50, does the cash register automatically take off the original price with the BOGO coupon? Is that how you did that?
