My husband and I have this to keep him accountable. He loves it and obviously I love it too. I’d recommend it to anyone. 🙂 There are a lot of settings on it so you can set it to do whatever you want it to do. Try it out!
I downloaded it, and it said it was a Windows application. So much for using it on my Mac.
We got Net Nanny last Christmas when we got our 12 year old daughter a laptop. It has been great. Even though she is trustworthy, it keeps her from being curious and checking other things out. It gives us great peace of mind that she’s not getting onto sites she shouldn’t be. You can set the controls just how you like them. We recently had to take the “intimate apparel” control off though because it would not let her access any shopping sites that offer underwear. LOL Like American Eagle, JCPenney, etc.

As for licensing, it is indeed a full 1 year license – if you’re getting just a 14 day trial then you’ve obviously not gone to the page that Collin linked.
As for OS platform support – the freebie we are giving away is for Windows. However, we love Mac users too and are willing to hook you up as well. Just go ahead and get a windows license and then call into our free tech support number (1-800-485-4008) and ask them to roll your license over to a Mac license. They’ve been given instructions to do it for free.

But it;s blocking all the good stuff!! I remember when I was a teen and we had gotten AOL, and I convinced my parents to make me the master screenname, so I could change all the settings however I wanted. Ahh, the days of 56k

We use this software and it is great. There are times that I have searched for something seemingly harmless in google, but when I click on the link, it gives me a warning about what is on the site. It has saved me from seeing many things I do not care to see. We have really liked using this. If you are looking for something to purchase as far as a control software goes, I would highly recommend it!
