I specifically asked about a scenario such as this when I was at TRu the other day pre-ordering Tink. I was told by the manager that you get the $10 off another disney movie when you pick up B&TB NOT when you pre-order. I’m assuming since that’s what my store’s manager said, then that’s how it is. So this deal won’t work for me. But, since I need 2 of each movie anyway, I’m going to try to pre-order 1 each of B&TB and TS3 and then use my $10 credits for a second of each plus my 2 $10 gift cards for pre-ordering 2 Tinks.

    • mary

The wording on the BATB pre-order card states: “Pre-order your copy of BATB and save $10 WYB any Disney Blu-ray $19.99 or higher TODAY.” I would interpret that to mean at the time of pre-order not pick up. I’m pretty sure that in the past with similar promos that the $10 discount on the other DVD came off at the time of pre-order.

      • Renee

But if you look at the bottom of the pre-order card it has directions for how the cashier is to ring up the transaction and it says when you PICK UP Beauty & Beast- not when you preorder.

        • Jennifer

I reserved my copy of Tinkerbell today, and I have all my coupons ready to go for tomorrow. I also grabbed the preorder forms for BATB and Toy Story 3. Renee is correct, the BATB form says “Today” at the top, but down in the bottom for cashier instructions, it says you don’t get the 10 dollars off until you pick up BATB. The Toy story form does not have cashier instructions on it, nor does it have the word “Today” on it.

Is anyone going tomorrow to try out the scenario and let us all know if it works out and the register doesn’t freak out? I’m worried the cashier won’t scan the bottom of the BATB form because it tells them not to until you pick up the movie.

    • amy

They had this on the Toy Story pre-orders too, and it was the day you pre-ordered. not when you picked it up…

  2. Kellee

How do I print the Beauty and the Beast coupon? I joined up and put in the upc code, but when i clicked on it, it said i had already redeemed the offer? I have no idea why it said that. i haven’t printed it. Any ideas?

    • Lysandra

This happened to me & I just created a new account with my hubby’s email address just so that I could print out the $10 off on BATB. It worked! Good luck!!!

  3. heather

.ok so I went to toys r us to pre order tinker bell and I saw that Barbie and a fashion fairytale was on sale for $11.99 (normal $14.99) until the 20th only. it has a $5 off that dvd when you buy another Barbie dvd on the case. but Toys r us is having a deal where if you buy the new Barbie movie you can get $5 off another Barbie movie! so i got Barbie mermadia priced at $9.99 totally FREE!! and since i had to pre order my tinker bell movie and had to pay $10 to pre order ( that i get back when I go in to buy it) It came to just over $26.00 so i could use my $5 off $25 coupon! woohoo! $20 for pre order tinker bell, got the new Barbie movie and another Barbie movie and get $10 back so I paid $10!!! 😀

so then when i go get tinker bell I have a $10 gift card they will give me and I have a $10 off coupon and I will pre order beauty and the beast when i go in and get $10 off! (another deal they have you pre order beauty and the beast and buy another Disney movie for $10 or more and get $10 off!) Normal price is $29.99 so I will first use my $5 off $25 coupon and then my tinker bell coupon and then my gift card for $10 and pay $4.99!!

then when i go get my beauty and the beast dvd I will use my $5 off $25 coupon and then my $10 off beauty and the beast coupon i have and then $10 gift card on that one as well and pay just $4.99 for that one too!! SA-WEET!!!

so to break it down one more time I paid $10 for the new Barbie movie and the mermaid movie I will pay $4.99 for tinker bell and $4.99 for beauty and the beast! Total for 4 movies will be $19.98!

hope that helps you guys!! sorry it is so long!

    • AC

Where can I find the $5 off $25 coupon from? Thanks!

      • Maria

You can find the 5 off 25 at the toys rus website good till the 25

    • Keri

Heather- I’m confused where the extra $10 gift card is coming from that you will use when you pay for your Tinkerbell. We don’t get one for Beauty & the Beast too do we because I noticed you said you would use one for that too? I’m just trying to figure out how you will only be paying $4.99 when you pick your Tinkerbell.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yeah…it was 14.99 at my store, and they had no clue what the $5.00 off deal was you wrote about…the only way to get a deal on the Barbie movies was to buy 2 and use the coupon from the cover of the new one….

      • Tika

My Toys R Us ad shows the 11.99 price good until today!

    • Lynn

The $5 Toys R Us coupon is only good until Sept 26, so it won’t be good when you pick up Beauty and the Beast after Oct 5. Also, the deposit for pre-ordering Beauty and the Beast is $5, not $10. They would not let me include the $10 for pre-ordering Tinkerbell to count for my $25 purchase for the discount at the Toys R Us in Vernon Hills, IL.

  4. Mary

not worth it…..thanks though..I live 25 miles away!!!!

  5. Maria

I would love to have one of the Beauty and Beast coupons, I have a 2 year old twin girls so I don’t own the old DVD, Is there someone that will have an extra code to print the coupon???? I would really REALLY APRECIATE IT. If you tell me any coupons that you might need I will send them to you. Thanks!!!! au_tag@yahoo.com

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

go to disney movie rewards.com and login or register (if yr not already a member) enter 786936171631 in the box that says “enter the magic code” to get the coupon (if its still avaliable)

      • Maria

Kayla, Thank you SO MUCH!!!!!! I got my coupon!!!!

  6. Leslie

Oh…I am so going to do this. Since we don’t have a blu-ray, I can sell the blu rays on ebay an likely make money. At least that is what happened with the Toy Story deal last year. I came out ahead when it was all over.

  7. Nikki Lane

it’s too much of a hassle for me as I live 30 minutes away from the local TRU. I’m going to wait and see what Target and Walmart do for a deal when they come out.

  8. Renee

I tried to do this sort of deal with the Toy Story movies a couple months back- I got both movies and used the $10 coupons and then you could get another Disney movie for free. The blogs said to do Princess and Frog since that $5 off coupon was out- the only problem was my TRU wouldn’t let me use the $5 coupon because I was already getting the movie for free- SO- I possibly see some stores having a problem with you getting $10 off TB when preordering B&B and trying to use the $10 coupon off TB as well……

  9. Amanda

I called my local toys rus and they said they may not even accept the coupons. they get a call the day the movie comes out on whether they can accept them..do you get get preorder money back if you can use a coupon you had planned?

    • Christan

I had called my local TRU ahead of time to make sure they accepted the coupons (for the Toy Story deal) and the manager was happy to accept them and said that several people had already redeemed them, so I don’t see a problem this time either.
I am taking notes and gonna do this deal too. I am finally having a girl after three boys, so am excited to start buying this kind of stuff!!

  10. Kerry

The disney store is also having the same type of deal ($10 off furture purchase with pre-order), just figured I would mention it to anyone who might want another option. This one works for me since I will be needing to purchase halloween costumes from there.

  11. julie

Is the Tink Movie part of the CVS deal this week $19.99 get $5- ecb. So after 10 off coupon that would be $5- out of pocket?

    • Kerry

just a note, the coupon is for the Blue-ray 2-disc combo set only, so you might want to just make sure that is the one they are having the deal on.

    • Betsy

the coupon works at CVS……I did it today without a beep…..

  12. savdoc2

I wish I lived closer to TRU……but driving 70 miles would negate the savings.

Does anyone know if Walmart is running a special on these tomorrow?

Also, in the past on specials like the charm bracelet, it is only 1 charm per movie purchased? I have 2 daughters and it is hard to buy for just 1.

    • Yami

Wallmart will have the combo for $21.96. Less $10off coupon total $11.96..No bad at all!! 🙂

      • savdoc2

My Walmart had the combo pack for $24.96 – so Target was a better deal. Neither Walmart nor Target had the gift with purchase packages available.

  13. Jennifer

TRU is a bit of a drive for me too… does anyone know if they honor any of these deals online?

  14. Jennifer

If anyone goes and does this deal today, can they report back here that you do in fact get $10 off instant savings TODAY on Tinkerbell when you pre-order Beauty and the Beast (not including the Manufacturer coupon)? We’d all love to hear if you encounter any issues.

    • Yami

      I am going at noon..:)

    • Marylou

I did get the $10 off instant savings today!

    • Robin

I was NOT able to get the $10 off instantly. My store had the blu-ray combos priced down to $25. So I only owed $15 instead of $19.99. The instant $10 off BATB is off a disc priced at $19.99+ and since it only shows me owing $15 it wouldn’t take it off. The internet coupon DID work, so I only owed $5 for Tinkerbell and $5 for the BATB pre-order. PLUS I got the $10 gift card for buying Tink, AND a free Tink watch as well! So still a good deal after the freebies!!! OH! And I’m going to submit for my free charm bracelet as well!!

      • Andrea

Yep! That’s exactly how it went for me, too! Not flawlessly, but our TRU has the BEST cashiers and managers and they were beyond patient and kind trying to make it work out as best they could!!!!

  15. Maria

Just came back from TRU you CAN”T use both promotions the computer is no taking both because after one of the coupons or promtions the balance left is 9.99 not 10.00 costumer sevice was really nice but could make nothing to fool the computer I ended up paying 8.99 but I got the free watch, the pre order for BB is only 5 dollars

  16. Marylou

I went to TRU today. I got my Tinkerbell movie, pre-ordered B&B, the free watch, 2 SORRY games, and 1 Monopoly game. I paid $3.98 and got back the $10 gc!! I’m pumped!

    • kayla

wow! thats great i hope i get that lucky too. im goin when it opens

    • Yami

Mary didi they deducted $10 off Tinker movie for ordering BB? Di dyou use the $5off/$25 coupon as well and the ganes coupons? 2 or 3 of them?

      • Marylou

        I used the TB $10 coupon,they took off the $10 instant for pre-ordering B&B, $5/25, and 3 $4 game coupons! Good Luck!

  17. kristen

wow got it all for just over a dollar plus the gift card which cancels out the $10 deposit money for tinkerbell!

  18. Piggly

Seems I may be the first to post my experience…

    TUESDAY EXPERIENCE…………………..

Ok, I went to TRU to pick it up. They guy at the desk said they could price match Target’s ad, so he attempted to do so, but since I preordered, the system wouldn’t let me. They called a manager who said I’d have to get it done (refunded) at the CS desk.

So I went there. The girl tried but before the $10 coupon, and after the BatB $10 offer, the price was $9.99 so it wasnt allowing her. After the new store manager came and explained some things, of which I won’t bore everyone to death, this is what happened.

    1) TRU won’t price match Target or Walmart, but since I was the first and I was told yes, they did it for me.

    2) I paid $3.21 They had to void out everything and redo the purchase. I cannot help but think I got shafted, but we’ll see.
I’m hoping they refunded me the $10 preorder because this is what was done. sicne they had to cheat the system.

TRU was running the watch deal promo with purchase. But they had to charge me $0.01 for it to work. They then price matched the movie as if Target had it for $2.99. So after tax I got charged $3.21

The breakdown should have been this:
    $29.99
    -$7 price match
    -$10 coupon
    -$10 BatB preorder
    +$0.01 for the watch
    = $3.00 +tax.
I got the following. DVD/BR combo+$10 GC, PLUS the watch.

now I originally paid $10 preorder, but since they were the same CC, I hope the $10 gets refunded. If it does, then I am ecstatic. IF not, then I guess its ok. Nothing super special, but I did get a bunch of freebies.

The preorder of BatB didn’t show my $10 off deal, so I may cancel that and buy it cheaper at Target when it comes out and keep the $10GC from TB. I’ll have to see the numbers when its out. I may stay with TRU and preorder TS3 when I pickup the BatB movie with the $10 coupon and $10GC I have. so that movie should be $15 ($5 preorder hold, +$10/$10)

    • Robin

Here’s what happened with me- the Tinkerbell blu ray was on sale at my store for $25- so after my $10 prepay came off, I only owed $15- and the BATB discount of $10 wouldn’t work because it’s only off a balance of $19.99+. Took me an HOUR for someone to figure out wth was going on, because it wasn’t marked or advertised ANYWHERE for it being on sale for $25 at my store. I even tried to get them to price adjust it back UP to the normal $29.99 so I could use the $10 BATB credit, but the computer and manager wouldn’t let the girl do it. I’m bummed the deal didn’t work for me as planned, but I wasn’t expecting the free watch, so I’m still happy overall!

  19. K.

got the movie, watch and giftcard, preordered B&B and paid… $ 4.28… I also used the $5/25…

At first I had to pay $1.50, then he scanned the Giftcard and my Total came up to $11.50 and he couldnt take the Giftcard Balance back off… so the Manager came redid everything and I ended up paying $4.28… not sure how it all went down… still confused… but I am happy regardless…. *lol*

    • Ana

To K.-did you have to use a filler before you could use the $5/25 coupon?

      • K.

no I didnt… the DVD rang up as $29.9? at first and I told them that it is over $25…

  20. Summer

I went earlier and I paid oop $11.27 That includes the Tinkerbell movie, preorder for B&TB, Tinkerbell watch and Mt.Dew. I use all the coupons (including $5/25) and I still have my $10 on Tinkerbell GC

So I really Paid: $3.41 For Tinkerbell Movie
    5.00 for B&TB preorder
    1.57 for Mt.Dew
    =$10.00 +1.27 tax =11.27 So I guess I did pretty good!

    • nicole

HELP!!! So I need someone elses math skills and logic. I pre ordered 4 Tink movies 40! I went in today picked up 4 tink(19.99), pre ordered 4 more b&tb (5 each),3 tag jr books (10.99 each with buy 2 get 1). I used 4 $10 off tink, 3 $4 off tag and 5/25. It appears as if 40 came off for pre order, 40 off for tink manu coupons 5/25 and 12 tag manu. I paid 46.41 (6.41 in tax) and received 40 gift card. Y can’t I figure this out?? The math just doesn’t seem right. HELP ME MAKE SENSE OFF THIS….

      • Yami

Nicole: It doesn’t make sence! here is what I figure out and FYI the cashier made a mistake with my purchase too and went back to CS and they fixed it. See case #81.1
        Yours should be like this:
        4 tinkerbell @ $29.99 =$119.96 + 4 BB preorder @ $5 = $20 + 3 Junior tag @ $10.99 =$32.97 Grand Total before coupons and promotions $171.73
        Less B2G1 free tag junior promotion $171.73 – $10.99=$160.74
        Less $5/25 TRUS coupon $160.74 – $5 =$155.74
        Less (3) $4off coupons (tag) $155.74 – $12=$143.74
        Less (4) $10off tinkerbell disney coupons $143.74 – $40=$103.74
        Less (4) $10off BB discount towards another movie $103.74 – $40 =$63.74
Less (4) $10off deduction you already paid when preordering Tinkerbell $63.74 – $40=$23.74 + taxes and you still need to get your (4) $10 gift card totaling $40
        Hope this helps 🙂

  21. Leah

Has anyone does this deal yet?

    • Leah

That is horrible! I hope I don’t run into any problems. I am on my way out to do it right now.

    • Robin

I didn’t have a great time at TRU today either. I happened to get there as the store was opening, and the first girl I spoke to, had no clue where to get a pre-ordered movie from. What’d she do? Did she ask for help? Nope, she just went about her business. So I asked again, can I have my movie “Well I don’t know what to do” “OK- then call someone who does!” So she finally did. Thirty minutes later someone comes back with a normal DVD- uh no. Blu-ray combo please “We don’t carry those” “Really? Then why do you pre-sell them?” Manger comes in- finds the movie and the first girl starts ringing me up. Had no problem with the $10 Disney q, but the BATB $10 didn’t come off. I didn’t want to deal with her anymore so I cashed out at $11.27, got my $10 gift card, the free watch, blu-ray and pre-order of batb, then went to CS. After another 30 mintues with a very patient cashier, we finally figure out the extra $10 deal didn’t work because the blu-rays were priced to $25- so after taking off my pre-payed amount my $15 balance didn’t meet the requirements for the $10 BATB deal. Oh well. I’ll go back with my gift card next month and my BATB coupon and hope that works. We’ll see.

  22. Stephanie

I went to the TRU today in the Norfolk, VA area. They would not accept my Disney Internet print coupons.
Needless to say I was not very happy at all! I will be writing a letter to Corporate about this because this is the 2nd time that this has happened to me at this store.

So beware before you go that this may occur!

    • Kathryn Gibson

I am not letting it go. I emailed my letter to contactus@toysrus.com. If you read my letter you saw where the cashier said that they had gotten Free X-box coupons and that was why they wouldn’t honor mine. How dumb are your employees to honor a free x-box coupon…Oprah is posting a printable for a free car tomorrow…geez

    • Leah

They will take them in Virginia Beach… the lynnhaven store… I had the same issue with norfolk

  23. sarah

I’m going over tonight to see what happens but i know last night when i did the preorder for tinkerbell I asked about the ip. The cashier said “oh yeah, probably a $10 off one knowing disney” Hoping she’s working tonight since she knew her stuff.

  24. Stacy W

This was a disaster for me. I did not have time to argue with them today because I had to pick my daughter up at preschool, but will definately be heading back tomorrow to have it corrected. I ended up paying $10.06 and somehow my mf coupon only took off $6.01.

  25. Stephanie

Had a horrible issue today too…. Basically they said I could not get both the $10 gift card for pre-ordering the Tinkerbell movie and the $10 off by pre-ordering Beauty and the Beast I have to buy another Blue ray DVD to get the $10 off from the Beauty and the beast deal….this is after 30mins at the check out cause nothing would ring up!!! UGH!

    • Angiie

Same thing happened to me. I pre-ordered Tinkerbell but when I was ready to use the coupons I wasn’t able too. It was either the $10 coupon or the gift card. And I couldn’t use the $10 off for pre-ordering B&B. So, I told the cashier to give me back my $10 deposit and that I would just go get it at Target which would be cheaper. 😛

      • manyhats0211

where are you guys located that happened to me I should have read this before I left today

      • Robin

That’s totally ridiculous that they would say that! No where in their advertisement for pre-ordering Tinkerbell does it say that you won’t get the gift card if you use a coupon. They seriously need to train employees better!

  26. kayla

I had a great experience at my TRU in Goodyear, AZ. 2 sorry and 1 monopoly, Tinkerbell blu-ray, $5 pre order BATB, and Free Watch, and $10 GC. rang up at $33.65. Somethin happened, she couldent take off coupons so i went to customer service, he took off all coupons so he gave me back $27.49 so $33.65 – $27.49 = $6.16 i paid out of pocket. im very happy. Sorry to those having problems. Thanks Collin!

  27. kayla

what i dont get is where did people get a coupon for a FREE X-BOX???? anyone know? sounds fake to me. Let me know plz

    • Christen

      it is fake

  28. Yami

I went and picked up the tinkerbell movie ($29.99), a free watch, the BB preorder ($5) one
monopoly game ($7.99) that ended up being free with the buy 2 get one free promotion. One sorry game ($7.99) and one scrabble game ($7.99). Total before coupon $58.96.
I used $5off/$25, (3) $4off for the games, and $10off for tinkerbell movie. Total $31.96
Toyrus promotion B2G1 free game $31.96-$7.99=$23.97
Minus $10off tinkerbell movie for preordering BB $23.97 -$10off=$13.97
    And this is the confusing part….Minus $10, I previously paid I should have been like that $13.97 – $10 = $3.97 right?
But my subtotal before the gift card was $6.24 including taxes and when the cashier put the gift card it went up to $16.24 ($13.97 + $2.27 taxes) which I paid cause I needed to leave after 30 minutes with the cashier and manager, but, they explained that the gift card value gets deducted somehow from the price of the items so if you return the item, the gift card value also gets deducted. Something like that… I am still confused. My receipt shows that I save $65.98 but I honestly believe they charge me for the gift card or didn’t deduct the $10 I previously paid. Can someone figure this out?

    • Christan

I did almost the exact same scenario as you did, except I only had 2 q’s for the monopoly games. My final total was $12.27 and since you had another $4 off than I did, I would think somehow your total should be less than mine.
I really dislike TRU receipts. They are sooooo hard to understand! Hope you get it figured out.

      • Yami

yes I did after 2 hours of math!! and I am going back because I just noticed they didn’t use one of the codes on the preorder card that saids “blue ray coupon balance due” so they didn’t deducted the $10 I already paid. The receipt shows $29.99 – $10off for the BB movie preorder and the $10off disney coupon leaving a balance of $9.99 but it should be $19.99 minus $10off for BB minus $10off disney coupon making it FREE. I will ask them to refund those $10 back to my card. Also the promo say “FREE gift card” and there is another code in the card to deduct the $10 they add for the gift card too. Ladies check your receipts!!

So I went to the CS and told the lady that the $10 that I paid for preordering Tinkerbell were not deducted from the $29.99 and she revised the receipt and told me “you’re right”. So she refund what I have previosly paid ($16.24) and did the whole transaction again using the receipt only and the new subtotal was $3.97 + paid $1 something in taxes. Total $5 something for Tinkerbell, BB preorder, Tinkerbell watch, and 3 hasbro games and got my $10 gift card.

I am so irritated by inconcistancy! I just preordered Tinkerbell. I was told I had to choose between the coupon or the gift card. However, my friend got the deal at the same store this morning with no problem.

    • manyhats0211

just happened to me considered double dipping and a friend of mine “double dipped” yesterday!!

  30. kathy

I went this afternoon and the deal was the following:

They charge $19.99 which is the left over balance
toke off the $10.00 from the disney coupon
and got the free watch and gc $10

they couldn’t take off the additional btb instant $ because the computer had that I owed 9.99 so they couldn’t put it in the system. they tried it all. Does anyone have any suggestions…he said I can come back and adjust if I find a way…can you imageine. I was there for an hour. He tried it all…and still..I ended up paying the $9.99 plus tax…which is good..because I figure between the coupon and gc I will end up paying for btt $9.95 too.

    • April

Don’t use the Q and have them then do a post coupon after the transaction. If your store will let you, mine won’t!

  31. Stephanie George

Are there specific pre-order forms for the different types (DVD, Blue-Ray, or Combo DVD/Blue-ray)? I am wondering now since I purchased the Tink preorder if I got the right one?

  32. amy

something is wrong with the gc input. i was at cs for almost 35 mins, had a very nice man, even gave my 22 mo old a balloon because she was getting restless. he had it down to 1.32 and then when he scanned the gc it went up to 11.32 so it was adding it back on. he voided and rerung 4x and finally asked if i would like to buy something and he would take ten off instantly, had no problem with that! so picked up a thomas toy for 14.99 so paid 5 plus change for tinkerbell blueray, watch, bb prepay and the thomas toy. not bad!

  33. Jackie Landy

I was able to get the Tinker Bell FREE and the FREE watch. Use the Toy Story Pre-order card instead. I only paid $4.99 OOP plus $10 initial deposit, but got my movie and free watch and also the $5.00 deposit towards Toy Story 3. It was a mess, but I am a blogger and was able to get it worked out at our store in Vegas. The bottom line is, it is not normal to not get $10 off the movie when you pre-order and in the B&B case it is after (when you pick it up).
If you have a $5.00 of $25.00 and was planning to use it – there is a way to do it too, but it counts Tinker Bell as $9.99 so make sure you add the difference. I used the preorder for Toy Story 3 and pre-ordered B&B anyways (secured another $10 off coupon for later) and added junk for $5.01 plus. Final price, $9.99 for all of that!!!

  34. Anna

I ended up paying $5 plus tax, which I think ends up being the preorder for Beauty and the Beast. They would not take the $5/25 coup because the computer had taken all other coupons off first and it went down to $15. I asked if he could ring up everything then try my 5/25 coup, but he said the computer wouldn’t take it. I ended up ringing up at $15, but he then took me to the CS so I could use my Disney coupon and get $10 back. So, overall, I paid over $5. I think I’m okay with that. Since I preordered and paid $10 for Tinkerbell a few days ago, have I really paid $15 total? So confusing!

  35. Tanya

Ok guys, so, I went in knowing that the beauty and the beast deal wouldn’t work, but here’s how things went down for me:

    1 – Tinkerbell combo pack (I preordered it) – 19.99
    1 – free watch – 0.00
    1 – beauty and the beast preorder – 5.00
3 – zhu zhu pets (my daughter got one for her bday and my son won’t leave it alone, so I spent the extra money and got 3 since they are buy 2 get 1 free) – 19.98
    total:44.97
    – 10.00 (tinkerbell coupon)
    – $5 (used a $5 off 25 purchase)
    – 10.00 (since I bought the extra stuff, it allowed the $10 beauty and the beast discount)
    Total: 19.97 (without tax)
Plus I got the $10 giftcard.

so basically you just have to buy enough to bring the dvd price back up. the tinkerbell coupon ends up coming off of your total purchase not the movie.

    • Roger

I thought my purchase of the pre ordered TB would be enough, at $19.99, then pre-order B&TB at $5, plus a filler item at $4.99, brining the subtotal to $29.98. Granted, this is before any coupons, so it doesn’t include the $10 preorder discount, nor the $10 coupon, but they wouldn’t accept the $5 off $25 for me. That was the whole reason why I bought the filler item, to put me over $25.

    • April

I had a $15 filler with no additional Qs and it still didn’t work!

  36. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Although I had a successful trip to Toys R Us this morning I’m disappointed about how frustrating it is to use coupons there! My cashier was very patient and kind. She did her best to work out this deal but it took 45 mins. and the involvement of many more employees. There was a fellow Hip-2-Save reader at the next register having the same issues. With each new Disney movie release I head to TRU to pre-order and anticipate my great savings as I roll the deals from movie to movie, but it’s always a difficult process. After reading the experiences of others I can’t help but wonder why there are so many inconsistencies between the different TRU locations, and if there is anything consumers can do to change this?

I’m grateful that I received such an excellent deal but would love a smoother transaction on future purchases. Here’s the breakdown of my purchase today:

Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue Blu-Ray combo $29.99
    Pre-order deposit for Tinkerbell -$10.00
    Disney coupon -$10.00
    Fairies watch FREE
$10.00 gift card from TB pre-order FREE
Beauty and the Beast pre-order deposit $5.00
Savings today for Beauty and the Beast pre-order -$10.00
    TRU $5 off $25 coupon -$5.00
My Total OOP from tax $0.48

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Can someone who was successful post a scan of your receipt somewhere. I was not allowed to use the B&TB $10 Q (from preorder) because the TB $10 was also a Disney and they won’t work with another Dinsey promotion. So far I have paid $20 and received the movie, a watch and a $10 gift card. Is that right? –chris

      • kathy

        Chris,

that is right…you pay 20 but you got a 10 gift card…that you can use towards beauty and the beast.

      • Leah

That isn’t right. Although I ended up paying the correct amound they had to give me $5 cash to make up for being over charged. The problem is when they put in the $10 giftcard. For some reason it ends up charging you and extra $5. I would go back with everything written out how it should go. They can understand it better when it is visual. Good luck!

  37. Jami

I was also not allowed to buy the Beauty and the Beast pre-order with my Tink movie as they said Disney wouldn’t allow it. Ugh! Sometimes I really get frustrated couponing!

  38. kathy

I noticed that several people have said that if you buy additional items you can get the $10 discount….I was told you can’t …but I think tomorrow I am going to try cs….and see if they can manually override.

  39. Denise

I did this today and to was confused 😛 However, I paid the $5 for the pre order of BaTB plus tax and then I looked at teh cashier and said Im sorry but Im really confused because I was supposed to get a Gift card too, well she siad o yes you were I scanned teh wrong bar code on the pre-order card…so she just scanned the bar code as a seperate transaction and i got a gift card for 10.83. I dont understand which I dont like so I possible wont try anything like this again…I would rather have the TS3 movie than BaTB so might look at that and cancle the pre order…who knows. I am just happy and I know that when I go get BaTB I will have paid $20 OOP for both Blue ray combos because since I only paid $5 today I will have to make up the balance when i go get the movie the coupon, the gift card adn then I will owe $5. HTH someone, This told me it has to do with what barcode they scan on the preorder cards. O I too got the watch, yippee something for me as I have no girls!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went today and purchased the TB movie and pre-ordered the B&B movie. I did not receive a gift card only the $10 deduction for purchasing a movie while pre-ordering. Is this because I did not pre-order TB, but just purchased it on the day it came out (for some reason my store never offered a pre-order on TB)? I am confused about how everyone is getting a $10 gift card….please explain so I will know for future purchases….:-)

      • Rebekah C

Yes, the $10 GC was only if you pre ordered TB, I had to ask for is back where all of the movies are.

    • Leah

Because the reserve for beauty and the beast was only $5 not $10 we didn’t get the full advantage of both $10 coupons because it wouldn’t dip into the negative before ringing up the giftcards so for us we got the tinkerbell combo pack for $15 instead of $10 and received a $10 giftcard which is a bummer but a great deal as well.

  40. kathy

does anyone live on long island, ny….if so which toysrus did you go to…and share your results..if you can

  41. Rissa

I spent a little more, but am happy with the results.

    Tink – 19.99 (preorder)
    Prince of Persia- 34.99
    BATB pre-order- 5.00
    TS3 pre-order- 5.00
    Before Coupons total = $64.98

    Coupons used-
    BATB Pre-order- 10
    TS3 Pre-order- 10
Prince of Persia from disney- 8
    Tink- 10
    TRU- 5/25
    Coupon Total= $43.00

So 64.98-43.00= $21.98 OOP (+tax) and I got the free watch and the $10 gift card
No beeps, no problems, no questions, the cashier did say “I’ve never seen a total go down that fast! Where did you get the coupons?! That’s a great deal!”

  42. xkalgal

I paid for my preordered copy of Tinkerbell, and used my coupon for $10 off. I got the $10 GC for preordering it, but when I preordered B&B he wouldn’t give me the $10 instant off deal because he said I didn’t purchase $19.99 worth of DVD’s. He said because of the coupon it brought it down to only $9.99, so it didn’t qualify. I was slightly irritated, but wasn’t worth arguing with him about. Obviously, the $10 I put down on the movie didn’t count. I was really bummed out, but it’s still a good deal. Overall I will end up paying $14.99 each, which I guess is better than $29.99 each. Still wish it would have worked. 🙁

    • Diana

      xkalgal,
If you’re going to pay 14.99 each, isn’t it cheaper just to buy at Target ?
      Blu ray price : 22.99 – 10.00 coupon = 12.99 (no hassle)

    • Stephanie

I had the same problem. So what they did for me is return my $10.00 deposit and ring the whole transaction again, the computer then understood that my purchase was above 19.99 and I was able to use the Beauty and the Beast Credit. I had an AMAZING manager and employee work with me for an hour and a half.

  43. sarah

My preorder for B&TB says $10 off when pick up reserved copy, it’s in small print along the back near the coupon-balance due barcode. It states the following “pick up must be between 10/5/10-10/11/10 cashier: scan this coupon when customer pays balance due, picks up reserved movie as per normal procedures, and purchases another disney blu-ray 19.99 or higher.”
Not sure how others are getting it past through the machines, mine came to 11.15, which i don’t feel is too bad since i now have the 10 gc for pick up B&TB next month.

    • Tammy

I need help on this one too. I spent over 30 miuntes at TRU yesterday. The cashier was very nice and was trying to help me understand but it is still wrong I think. Should have been:
      $29.99 for Tink + $5 for B&TB Preorder = $34.99
      $34.99 – $10 already pd when preordering Tink = $24.99
      $24.99 – $10 for Preorder on B&TB when purchasing another DVD = $14.99
      $14.99 – $10 Disney coupon for Tink = $4.99.
Total should have been $4.99 plus tax and get $10 gift card back from Tink purchase.
They wouldn’t let me use the $5 off coupon bcs the computer wouldn’t take it. Somehow, I ened up paying $11.15 OOP. I did get a $10 gift card from the Tink purchase to use next time but I think I got shafted by $5. What do you guys think?

  44. Betsy

I did the TRU scenario and it worked just fine. Pre-paid for Tinkerbell and then did the Beauty and the Beast pre-order when I went in to get it. I also got the free Tinkerbell watch from TRU for buying the movie.
Then I went to CVS, who had the regular Tinkerbell dvd (no blu-ray disc in the set) on sale for 19.99 with $5 ECB back…used the $5 off $20 coupon I had for registering my card and the $10 disney coupon (I had to put in a carmel too to cover the penny difference) paid $5 and got $5 in ECB back!

  45. Meredith

I preordered the Tinkerbell DVD and went to pick it up today and preorder Beauty and the Beast and they were completely out of preorders! They had already sold their entire allotment of Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story preorders. I was so bummed 🙁

  46. Rebekah C

I just got off of the phone with the corporate office, and they are offering nothing to make me a satisfied customer. I did get to use my coupon, but the computer adjusted my 10 discount for BATB down to 4.99, so I will be paying about $12.50 for each which I guess is better than some. I am most dissapointed about the service that I have received from my local store manager and the customer service supervisor that I spoke with on the phone. He repeatedly quoted the Toys R Us Coupon policy states that you can or can’t do that, but when asked for a copy or where he got that info, all he could say is that is what he was told from other people. I was told that the only way to go above the CSR Supervisor was to write a letter to Public Relations wich I fully intend on doing, here is the address if anyone would like to join me:
Public Relations, 1 Jeffery Way, Wayne, NJ 07470.

  47. April

I had the worst experience at my store (Lima, OH)! After standing at customer service for 2 hours why they tried to figure it out. (They told be about 5 different reasons why it wasn’t working… just guessing) They said they could not do anything about it, they refused to do a post coupon. I told them other stores were honoring the deal but they said no they were not, basically calling me a liar! So after making a trip across town just to get the deal and waiting for 2 hours for them to figure it out, I came home with nothing.

The one lady kept telling me I couldn’t use the $10 coupon because I already paid the $10 (pre-sale). I said I should not be penalized for pre-ordering!!!

To top it off when I pre-ordered Tink the cashier was extremely rude when I asked about the deal and the customer behind me couldn’t believe she treated me that way. I ended up walking away from the register (with my children) while she continued talking extremely rude to me!

This store has lost my business!

I was planning on purchasing a $600 baby jogger stroller from TRU but I have now decided to buy it some place else!

    • Andrea

Besides TRU being jerks to you, there are soooooooooooo many better online places to get a BabyJogger, and maybe even for less.

      • aprilmullen

Toys-R-Us is the only baby store close to us, and my husband wanted to get it from some place that we could return it easily if we did not like it.

I just ordered it (2009 Baby Jogger City Elite Double) from strollers.com and pray that I like it! (Plus I found a closeout deal and a coupon code, so $454 shipped! not bad at all for a $600+ stroller.
