the sunday coupon doesn’t seem to have good coupons to save $ like they use to 🙁

    • Janel H

I agree! There have been so many more high dollar coupons to print online than there has been in the Sunday papers!

    • Karin

I agree too. I decided to order some coupons from the clipping site instead this time. 🙁

      • Takako

What kind of clipping site you use? Would you please share? Thanks! 🙂

        • Karin

Sure! I use ‘My Coupon Hunter’ and love it!! They have no minimum purchase, and no additional fee, just add shipping. I highly reccomend it! 🙂

  2. Janel H

Has anyone else been getting shorted on their coupon inserts? Last week I only got three inserts when there should have been four, and this week I only got one insert when there should have been two. What a disappointment!

    • DP

Call your paper, that happened to me once, and they sent me some..

  3. Jo

Just so everyone knows… I found the Garnier Frutis Herbashine at Walmart in the clearence aisle for $5. After the $3 off coupon from last Sunday’s insert, it was only two dollars!

  4. cj

The problem with inserts is the resell of coupons on places like ebay. Sometimes other paper buyers “steal” the coupons out, but most of the time it’s the coupon “packers” that are taking them. I had to contact my local paper two weeks in a row about missing inserts.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      huh?!!
There were no coupon inserts on 9/5 so of course you didn’t get an insert!

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My grandma has been complaining for some time that clipping coupons has become unfair since some, who do not use a computer nor have internet access because of how far in the country the live, cannot get the better coupons that are now being posted online instead of the sunday paper. She has been clipping coupons since she was first married in her early twenties. I think it really stinks. I would must rather prefer to clip than print.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It would definately save on ink!! But I print alot of coupons anyway!! lol 🙂

  6. mouni

I didn’t get the Ben and Jerry coupon for some reason. I checked my ”red Plum” and double checked but nothing! I’m addicted to the Strawberry cheese cake one. That stinks that we didn’t get the coupon. Hope it’ll be somewhere online. And i do agree that the coupons we’re getting in the Sunday inserts are nowhere near as good as the online coupons.

Hey Collin, I didn’t really know where to post this, but I saw on another blog that the free Pringles Extreme coupon, was actually legit. I just wanted to let you know, if you didn’t already, because I did see your post about being so stressed about it.
And by the way, its awesome that you are so stressed, even when you already do so much for all of us. It really goes to show that there still are some fantastic people left in the world. =]
Thanks so much for all you do.

    • Takako

Hmmm, just curious, which blog you read? I called P&G customer service last week about this deal and they told me the deal was not setting up by P&G nor Pringles which stated they don’t have any promotion like that currently. They also said it’s still under investigating and if they get some answers, they will post official comment on their website. That I was told. If I was wrong please just ignored for wrong comment and sorry for in advance. If anyone see their official announcement on their site about this, please share with rest of hip2save readers. I feel sorry for Collin, who works really hard for hip2save readers, she beated up herself even thought it was not her fault at all in other day. I’m still trying to contact with the P&G again so see what will happen. Thanks.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Takako, I emailed Pringles (P&G) when all the controversy was first happening and they sent me an email saying that the Pringles Xtreme promotion was totally legit and apologized for any confusion and that it was now over. On the Pringles Facebook (not Pringles Xtreme) page they announced that it was legit but by the time they mentioned it soooooooooo many people already believed in all the hysteria.

        • Takako

OMG!! Yes, I checked Pringles Facebook wall and I got the answer now. Even P&G employees couldn’t tell that was legit or not as the result of I talked with the customer service. I understand that the free offer was setting up by an individual and from other country, so many people got confused. I really appreciated that any company offer those free promotions so I’m ok with it. I still buy Pringles because I like alot even thought I removed my application from their Facebook site. Thanks for heads up! 🙂

I am very new to couponing and have enjoyed and learned alot from this site and everyone’s posts and just had a question (even though it doesn’t relate to this specifically.) I have been reading alot of coupon sites/blogs, etc. and came upon a site called “The Grocery Game.” I’m sure you expert couponers are familiar with it. There is a small membership fee (less than $2 a week). I was just wondering what everyone thought about it and if it really helps couponers save even more money. I am trying to lower our monthly expenses as we have had some unexpected medical expenses within the last 2 years. I appreciate everyone’s advice!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Why not just stick with Hip2save? This website is wonderful and best of all it’s free!!!

    • Karin

I tried their free membership period, and then I didn’t continue it. I just stick to Hip2Save and other few my favorite sites since then. I think TGG is very convienient especially for people who would like to save time for going through each ads, b/c they let you know which store to shop is cheapest. But one of my local store wasn’t listed, so I had to check their ad anyways. I check all the grocery ads by myself each week, and save those money instead of membership. Oh, there’s the site called ‘A Full Cup’. They have tons of forums about specific stores, so you can check the stores you like. And you will know what to buy cheapest or free before you shop. HTH!

  9. jennifer2

Oh, I definitely am sticking with Hip2Save…just came across lots of websites when I was first wanting to get into couponing and wondering about them. By far, this site is the most informative and keeps us up to date with all the online coupons and deals available. Not to mention that Collin is hilarious and I am loving her videos!! 🙂

    • Amanda C.

I first learned how to coupon years ago, by joining the Grocery Game. After I learned the ropes and so many blogs started popping up, I cancelled my membership and do fine on my own. The one thing you will find about the GG is that you are not allowed to talk about the deals on your lists and your questions have to be very vague. You can’t talk about a specific deal on your “list” because their forum is public and you aren’t supposed to share the information with non-paying people. They will delete your post within seconds.

I don’t think it would hurt you to join for the trial. I’m pretty sure it’s free for 4 weeks now. Just make sure you cancel before it’s up if you don’t want to be charged again. It is a valuable tool, but I think you will find that after you start doing it for a while, all of the blogs that are available will be plenty good enough for you. And although Hip2Save is my #1 site…it might also help you to find blogs local to your area and they will often have more of the grocery deals specific to the stores that you shop at. I have Hip at the top of my favorite list, but also have a few Kansas City area bloggers as well because they always have detailed lists for my local grocery stores.

      Hope this helps you! 🙂

        Amanda C.

Can I ask you what KC blogs you are reading as I live in Western Kansas and the stores are very similar? And thank you for your advice….I will definitely think about it.

        • mommy2parker

Jennifer, I tried posting a comment with the blog addresses but for some reason it’s not showing up. If you want to post your email address, I could email them to you! 🙂

          • jennifer2

            mommy2parker
Thank you so much for responding to my post about KC coupon blogs. My email address is jbgoetz@ruraltel.net. Thanks Again! 🙂

          • Amanda C.

I emailed them to you! 🙂 Not sure why they are showing up in the comments section now though. I kept checking and it wasn’t there and now all of a sudden it is. Oh well. Figured I’d email them to you as well just incase you don’t come back here to check.

I got 2 more toy coupons in my magazine. Jealous of all the other good coupons, we do not get a great selection in NYC, thats why I look for circular deliveries during the week!

Hello! I am on vacation in Florida and was wondering what the good paper for coupons is down here?

  13. Kelly

I was fortunate to get TWO Smart Source inserts in my paper this weekend!! I LOVE coupons!! Thanks Collin!!!

  14. Leah

I didn’t get the $2 off Listerine in my Red Plum, I’m in the Seattle area. Anyone else not get this coupon?

  15. Kim Ramsdell

I only got the red plum insert in my paper today and there were only 3 coupons in it. And all of them were for things I don’t use/get. I am really frustrated because I was looking forward to some of the coupons this week.

    • Shanyn Claycomb

Ya, I only got redplum in my paper, too. I usually get Smartsource in the paper AND each Wed. in the mail…..so I am hoping I at least get one in the mail this week. The coupons this week were LAME. Esp. after a week of no inserts.
My paper did come with a coupon and empty bag to get a free bag of bulk coffee. Too bad I don’t drink coffee. LOL

  16. Nicole

I am fairly new to couponing and I just moved to Vermont. I want to subscribe to a paper to get the Sunday coupons, but cannot recognise a paper in my area that will have coupons on Sundays. I can’t go out and buy a paper on a Sunday to check and see….any suggestions as to how to find a good “Sunday coupons” newspaper?
