Earlier today, Mattel issued voluntary recalls for several Mattel products. Check out all the important details below…
* Inflatable Ball Recall: Baby Playzone™ Crawl & Cruise Playground™, Baby Playzone™ Crawl & Slide Arcade™, Baby Gymtastics™ Play Wall, Ocean Wonders™ Kick & Crawl Aquarium (C3068 and H8094), 1-2-3 Tetherball and Bat & Score Goal made before 2008 are included in this recall due to a potential choking hazard. * Little People® Wheelies™ Stand ‘n Play™ Rampway Recall: Only the purple and green Wheelies™ vehicles included with the Little People® Wheelies™ Stand ‘n Play™ Rampway that have “Mexico” and do not have a yellow dot on the bottom are included in this recall. No other Wheelies™ vehicles are affected. The remaining pieces of the Little People® Wheelies™ Stand ‘n Play™ Rampway are not affected. * Healthy Care™, Close to Me™, Easy Clean™ High Chair Recall: Only Healthy Care™, Close to Me™, and Easy Clean™ High Chairs with tray storage pegs on the rear legs are included in this recall as they contain tray storage pegs on the rear legs that children can fall on or against resulting in injuries or lacerations. * Fisher-Price® Trike Recall: This recall includes a number of Fisher-Price® Trikes that are intended for children 2 to 5 years of age, with a maximum allowable weight of 55 pounds. They include pretend keys that are located about 3 inches in front of the seat and protrude at least 5/8 inches above the trike body and a child can strike, sit or fall on the plastic key and be injured. This recall does NOT include Lights and Sounds Trikes; Rock, Roll ‘n Ride Trike; Grow-With-Me Trikes; Action Sounds Trike; Push ‘n Pedal Trike as these Trikes do not have a key feature in front of the seat. My trike was recalled, but I think its silly. Your kid has to be sitting far away from the seat, and seriously these trikes are not for heavy riding. I’m not bothering with this one, but I think its great they are letting us know about issues.
My high chair that is 7 years old is on this recall! What’s funny is the recall is for pegs on the back that are made to store the trays on–kids were falling on them and hurting themselves? I had no idea the pegs were even there—LOL. I got the free repair kit but may not ever use it. 😉

I was hoping they’d give me a new highchair! Mine’s 6 years old. We’ll see, maybe this repair kit will somehow make it clean and sparkly again. Here’s hoping…..
I just bought the Little People® Wheeliesâ„¢ Stand ‘n Playâ„¢ Rampway for my son’s 2nd Birthday. He’ll be 2 in just a few days. What a bummer to have to deal with a recall now. I’m glad I went ahead and purchased it because I’m sure they’ll be taking them off the shelves until they fix this. Oh well, thanks for letting us know!!
My son just got this for this 2nd bday a couple of weeks ago & he’s had a lot of fun with it. I’m annoyed that I have to make an inconvenient trip to the post office to mail the little cars back to get a replacement. They should just mail me the cars. :-/

Love how mattel has all the big recalls yet they get to be the only ones who don’t have to follow the regs of CPSIA.

Although, my kids are done playing with the toy now…is it bad just to return it to Walmart since it’s recalled? I could use the $30. LOL –

I have two of the trikes involved in the recall. I went online to order the kits and it says ‘maximum quantity 1’. Really? Not only are you assuming that families only have one of these items, you’re also limiting the kits used to fix them?!? Now, I have to keep calling the (busy) number so they can manually force it in to send me two! Come on…
I also have two of the trikes (diego for my son and barbie for my daughter) and ran into that same problem you did. I just ended up going back through the entire process again online and ordering the kits seperately for each trike. Hope this helps!
BTW – We’ve had these trikes for well over a year and this genital-mutilating key has not posed a problem for my kids – but it’s better to be safe than sorry, I guess!
I have the highchair (7 years old, but using it for my 6 mo. old) and the Diego trike. Also got a letter in the mail today that my Maytag dishwasher has been recalled!
We have the Laugh & Learn Musical Chair but ours is different than the one shown so I guess it’s older. After reading why it’s on recall I see that ours isn’t designed the same way. It’s good because I think my daughter would cry if it went away! We have to replace the batteries all the time because it gets used so much.
