If you bought this item a few weeks ago for around $5, were you surprised by the packaging when it arrived? I’m not sure I want to give this as a Christmas present anymore because the packaging isn’t labeled. I expected a second box within the shipping box that had a nice label. I think I will donate mine to the United Way…
You’re not giving it as a present just because it doesn’t have a labeled box? As a gift recipient, I would be thrilled to get this as a gift. I wouldn’t care about the box.
The box it was shipped in is the box… My address label is on the box. When it’s unwrapped by the gift recipient they won’t know what it is. It’s packed really compact, so you’d have to take everything out to figure out what it is… just fyi.
I had this exact same problem! I got it for a wedding gift and don’t think I’m going to give it anymore… 🙁 HORRIBLE that it doesn’t come in a box.

Yeah, I bought 4 of them and I thought they would be packaged differently… but since I bought them for gifts, I am going to print a picture of the product and stick it with the gift 🙂

I agree. I wish there was a way to use grocery store ziplock or glad bags.
Wal-Mart has a generic brand of bags for use with the foodsaver system and they are pretty cheap. They’re back in the kitchen appliances section by the foodsaver machine thing.

This is a great deal. I have a FoodSaver that I have been using for years, and it still works great. Have to have one when you buy large quantities and there are just the two of you. However, after ordering, I noticed that this hand-held FoodSaver doesn’t use the regular bags, you have to buy the new zipper ones or use the deli-saver. I don’t have either. I went back in, ordered the bags, applied the J0FV85FS code, and it took off the shipping.

There is a section that asks “is this a gift” Maybe if you chose yes it might come in nicer packaging.

As far as movie tickets go. I think you have to have a weekly cinema account. Then you take the codes from that and put them into a fandango account. I think it is pretty simple.
im trying to do that but it is saying my code is invlaid. I know it has to be me but Im not sure what to do and the help lines are closed on the weekends 🙁 boys will be so dissappointed if i cant figure it out
You actually don’t have to sign in to Weekly Cinema. At http://www.weeklycinema.com click on the link at the top left of the page that says “Did you buy a 4-pack on a deal site”. That will take you to a spot to enter your info. That should work for you.

I just ordered 3 of these..went through without any problems. Also, I didn’t go through ShopAtHome, and when I checked out I wasn’t charged shipping or tax. I received a confirmation that my purchase was successful and my total is $10.80! So maybe it’s cheaper not to go through ShopAtHome?
I read that if you use a coupon code you don’t get the cashback from SAH, not sure if thats true or not? Maybe its one or the other, I didnt go through SAH either.
i dont think it has anything to do with S.A.H. the amount does vary depending on where you live and the amount of tax you pay I think. The one I ordered to come to me (south) was like .20 cents cheaper than the one I ordered sent to my moms address (west coast).
I have never had a problem using a Q or Promo Code and getting cash back through SAH most of the deals I do online I go through them and dont have a problem. You do get the cash back amount based on your final price tho, not the amount of the merch before discount codes.

Has anyone tried it out yet? I have a handheld one (I can’t remember if its glad or Ziploc) which is junk… I still have several bags too…
Ok, I didn’t want to give both of those brands a bad name since I had only tried one brand so I went to check what brand my handheld one is… I’m glad I checked, its actually Reynolds! So yeah, it didn’t work for me, but now I am trying to remember if it was the baggies, the machine, or both. Whatever the case, I was not able to vacuum seal any of the items I tried. So… back to my original question, has anyone tried it out yet? 🙂
I haven’t personally tried this brand, but I did just see a program that reviewed them (along with the shmancy upper end ones) and none of them passed the test, except of course for the $479 professional model. Who knows, I think it’s hit or miss, mostly.

Does the charger base come with the handheld vacuum? I know it doesn’t require batteries, but I saw another handheld vacuum on the site and it came with a charger base.
On the product page there is a brief description of the product and it says it comes with a charger. HTH
