Here’s what you need to do to snag those free glasses…
* Head over to the Coastal Contacts Facebook page now, “like” them and click on the “Get the Code” button (remember, this code will not be valid until 12:01 PM EST today)
* Then head over to CoastalContacts.com and pick out your favorite frames (try to find between 3-5 frames that you would be happy with since many styles are sure to sell out quickly). You may even want to bookmark these pages so that you’re prepared at 12:01 EST.
* Then just be sure to schedule time to hang out in front of the computer around Noon EST today.
Giveaway Details/Rules
* Only the first 10,000 people will be able to use the coupon code to snag a FREE pair of glasses including the frame and standard 1.5 index lenses (note: you will need to pay shipping/handling charges will usually range between $10-$15). Keep in mind that if you have received a free pair of glasses from Coastal Contacts before, then you are not eligible for this promotion; limit one free pair per household.
* This promotion is only valid for web orders. If you need help with your web order, call the optical staff at 1-866-333-6888.
* Certain frames are NOT eligible for the promotion. If you see a “Coupons not applicable” message on a pair of frames, then it is excluded from the promotion.
* You will need a copy of your current eyeglasses prescription (it’s different from your contact lens prescription) and your PD measurement. Sometimes your PD will be on your prescription, but if not, watch this instructional video on how to measure it.
* After you have chosen your frames and selected your shipping method, you’ll go to a “Order Review & Payment” page, where you can enter and apply your coupon code. After applying your code, you will see your order total before you choose to check out (remember that you will have to pay shipping/handling charges of $10-$15)
* If you would prefer to order a pair of prescription sunglasses, you can use the coupon code and then you can add a tint to your lenses and simply pay for the cost of the tinting, which is about $30.
* Your free pair of glasses will include the standard 1.5 index lenses, which accommodates up to a -8.00. However, if your prescription is over a + or -2.00, you may want to upgrade to a thinner, lighter lens. If you choose to upgrade your lenses, or have selected progressives, Transitions or a tint, you will see the cost of the upgrade in your order total.
* If you’re not happy with your glasses for any reason, Coastal Contacts will allow one exchange for another free pair at an equal or lesser value. They’ll even pay for the return shipping and send you a return label. Just give them a call at 1-866-333-6888 to make arrangements. Remember to keep your box and all the accessories that came with your order.

Sorry about that! I received an email from a reader with the coupon code but was then informed that the coupon code (which made the leg warmers free) was only intended to be used for a recalled product. It was definitely not meant to be mass-distributed. Sorry for the confusion.

Entered the code, it applied to my order… entered my CC info and submitted… then site went down.. wonder if it took… guess i have to watch the cc stmt and see…

That happened to me as well. But then I also go an e-mail saying that everything was submitted
It just did the same for me. I have a paypal account which i used for this purchase. So i logged into my account at paypal and transaction said completed. I purchased glassed just for the frames really. Put in a 0.00 prescription so I can later go to my eye doctor and get the right prescription lenses placed correctly. 🙂
I got in on this deal last week and received the glasses yesterday. Along with the glasses was a gift card for yet ANOTHER FREE PAIR of glasses. I could keep it or pass it along to someone, so I passed it on to my mom.

Does anyone have any theories as to why they are giving away so many pairs of glasses? I have 2:
1. The online glasses weren’t selling so they are trying to get rid of them
2. They want to create some word of mouth advertising for buying glasses online.

I would love a free pair as my daughter just broke my glasses literally in two. I didn’t plan this very well though, I thought you could order just the frame. When I went to check it out it wants your prescription. So I called my eye doctor to get it and I guess they lost my file. So I doubt I will get in on this deal, but good luck to everyone else and thanks for posting! 🙂
Call them and place the order and have them put it on hold until you get the prescription. They did that for me last time with no problem. I finalized the order yesterday. They were very accomodating. Your eye needs to find your file..be a pest. : )
You can also get the classes with no prescription just put 0.00 in the left and right eye for the lenses and i just put a PD number in so I can get the frames and take them in later for the right lenses
Thanks for the info! I called where I usually get my glasses and frames and they said it should be no problem to switch out lenses. Still no word on where my prescription is, but I will be calling them back soon. I was able to get 128$ frames for 16$ WOO HOO!! Thank you so much!! This will be a HUGE savings!!

When I added the UV protection and scratch resistance bundle for an extra 14 dollars it brought my total to 7.95…For some reason if you add it you get a discount.
I got my pair shipped expidited for $ 13.58 The server is experiencing heavy traffic. Keep refreshing. It will eventually work…unless they sell out of the 10,000 pairs.

You might be suprised. I thought the same thing last time and decided to forget about it. Then I noticed that the promo was still going on three hours later, so I headed out, got my perscription, and placed my order with about an hour to spare before they ended it. The site was moving nice and fast by then too!
Everyone that did it last week is saying that they are getting a card for another free pair to give to a friend, I just ordered a pair, if they send me the card then I will share it with a hip2saver, maybe anyone else ordering today can do the same- sometime next week…
I had this same problem. I don’t get why they can’t give an eye prescription over the phone?? It’s not drugs or meds, it’s eye wear! Oh well, maybe they will have one of these deals again.
Eyeglasses and contact lenses ARE actually considered medical devices therefore they are regulated by the same federal laws as PRESCRIPTION medication. Thanks but no thanks to this deal. Lenses made in the U.S. must pass certain ANSI standards along with safety/ impact resistance tests and who knows where these lenses come from.

I cant believe it BUT YESSSSSSSSS I got a pair for my HUBBY!!!!!!!! Thank you SOOOOO much, Collin!!!!!!!!!!!!! It did take me abouet 20 mins because their website kept going down as soon as I would click on the glasses and start ordering them and when I clicked on the cart to check-out. But I kept on trying until I got as far as checking-out then I applied coupon code “10KUSA” and it deducted $98.00 perfectly!! I got this deal last week and received the glasses yesterday. I am SO HAPPY with my glasses! They are beautiful, the lenses are very clear, they fit great and were an awesome deal for just the shipping cost. Last week I was able to order a pair at 4 pm, then got my husband to order a pair – his just came this morning – really nice, too! Great case, cleaning cloth, mini-screwdriver, and a gift card for another free pair to give to someone! I am sitting here with tears coming down my face…this offer couldn’t have come at a better time. my husband is currently unemployed and we don’t have insurance. my 8 year old needed glasses a few months ago. We took her into the eye dr and he confirmed that she does need glasses. We can’t afford glasses right now so she has been wearing her sisters old pair which are the exact prescription she needs, ironically enough. the bad news is she broke then 2 days ago. I wasn’t able to get in right away because of the heavy traffic on the site. I just placed my order now and they are still available 2 hours later. I dont have my prescription available as i need many posts that don’t either or cant get them. So what I did is I put 0.00 for my left and right eye so that I could just get the frames for $14. Then you can take the frames in at a later date to get your correct lenses and PD. I rather do that then put in a wrong prescription and PD and everything be wrong so then i can’t even wear them. So just keep in mind that you can put a 0.00 prescription to get just the frames

Site was still slow but able to snag a pair. I chose the cheapest shipping method and still paid 28.00 but I added a 15.00 upgrade on the lenses so that isn’t bad at all for a frame that retails for 68.00.
Be careful… I entered my credit card info and then when I pushed checkout the browser came back with an error. When i pushed the back button it said my order had been placed successfully. I have checked my account and the amount was only deducted once but be careful if you run into this issue as it could result in duplicate orders and multiple charges.

I totally forgot that today is thursday, so I just realized this is on. And I didn’t even have my PD, so I read several articles on how to measure it…. I really hope I did it right. I managed to order a pair of glasses with $38 frames, single vision lenses and anti-reflective coating, UV protection and anti-scratch. Paid $28 for all this, which is really nice, since the cheapest glasses I could find in stores were around $100. So, I really hope they are good. Im gonna have to get them tested I guess.
