Wow!! I have some great news for all you Walmart shoppers out there! Walmart recently announced that they will price match Black Friday ads. Yes, Black Friday ads!!! 😀

Check out what they’ve stated in their press release:

Walmart is one of the only retailers that will price match competitors’ ads on “Black Friday.” Customers simply bring in competitors’ ads and Walmart will match the price of any identical product right at the register, making Walmart the easiest place to save this holiday season.

The retailer’s three days of savings will commence with Thanksgiving Day online-only specials followed by unbeatable prices on Friday, Nov. 26 on electronics, home and apparel items. Also on Friday starting at midnight, Walmart will offer treats and entertainment to customers including 5-Hour Energy, Great Value Breakfast Bars, donut holes, Trident Gum and Hershey Holiday Kisses.2 Electronics savings in store will continue on Saturday, Nov. 27 including the largest shipment of new Kinect sensors and Xbox 360 bundles while supplies last.

So what do you all think?! Will you be doing the bulk of your Black Friday shopping at Walmart?

They do every year! Make sure you have your ad with 🙂 Best idea is to put ALL the ads in a bag with you!

    • Ellie

Dumb question, when and where can we get the actual black friday ads? I usually only look at them online.

      • Christy D

HI, You can get the ads inside the stores you would like to shop at. That is, if you did not get this weeks Sunday paper! 🙂

      • Melanie

They usually come in the newspaper on Thanksgiving day.

    • Kris

They do every year…BUT there is a HUGE catch. Walmart will only match if it’s pictured & same UPC exactly as they sell. This sounds simple but its not. Walmart is the largest retailer. They have many, many products package especially for them even thought it is essentially the same item! They also have an agreement with ALL of their vendors that they get the best price over all other retailers for wholesale price. In return the vendor makes basically the same product but sometimes use cheaper parts. So say Walmart is selling a Sharp 32″ tv well their product number may be slightly different bc its been cheapened & been package especially for Walmart. This is especially true for electronics!

      • Ali

This is exactly true. Someone in my family was doing some marketing work for a large vacuum manufacturer and Walmart insisted that the manufacturer produce a vacuum that could be sold for under $89. This price is far below any price the manufacturer could achieve, so this directly resulted in the vacuum company having to switch to cheaper outsourced parts to make the price cut on that model. The punishment if they didn’t comply was that the largest retailer in the world would flat-out refuse to ever carry ANY of that company’s products. They were strong-armed by Walmart, and we get cheaply-made, taking-away-US-jobs products. THIS IS WHY MONOPOLIES LIKE WALMART ARE BAD FOR EVERYONE! No one company should control 8% of the entire US consumer economy. I WILL NOT be doing any of my holiday shopping, or any shopping, at Walmart. I’ll go without Christmas altogether before I sell my soul to that monster of a retailer.

Thanks for bearing with me, rant over.

  2. Megan♥

I’m going to be in the middle of no where (they don’t even have a Starbucks *GASP* 🙁 ) so if I want to do any BF shopping this might be my only option. Glad to know it’s available. 🙂

    • Bessie

Do they have Walmart in the middle of nowhere? LOL

      • Barbara

They have a Walmart everywhere! lol

        • savysaver

Not in my town…they have been banned by P&Z!!! I don’t view it as a bad thing either. I rather shop anywhere besides Walmart.

  3. Angelene

I wonder what time they will start price matching. at 12:00 am or 5 am?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Last year my Walmart stated they would start ad matching as soon as the competitors ad was valid, so basically whatever time the competitors store opened.

    • Jennifer

We called our local Wal-mart b/c looking at the black friday ad, it appears as though you could check out at 12:01 with items that weren’t in electronics. However, that is not the case. They told us that we wouldn’t be able to check out with anything until 5 am.

      • Kim

Hmmm, interesting. The one item i want on the page in the ad it says it starts at 12:01 am. I’m going to have to call and find out. Thanks for the heads up!

  4. k.

    they did that last year…

  5. megan

they way they get you is that is has to be identical products. like the itunes card at target for BF. it say this particular style(print) only. so if walmart doesn’t have that style you are out of luck 🙁

    • Selene

Gee! A gift card is a gift card! Who cares what picture is printed on the front!?

I am not going to Walmart. Hate that store in general no matter how much money they are going to save me.

Good luck to you all if you are going.

      • M.

I am not going to Walmart either. I went last year and people were acting like wild animals. It’s not worth it to me to be in that environment. I want a peaceful day.

        • Lou

Not going to walmart either…there are other retailers i would rather give my money, even if it would be cheaper.

        • chosengurl

Is it possible to have a “peaceful day” on Black Friday? That is what I LOVE about it! It is madness! 🙂

      • Emily

I’m not going to Walmart. Occasionally I drop in there, and even though they have good prices, their service (attitude, speed, ability to find things, helpfulness) is beyond terrible. I leave every time remembering why I do NOT want to shop there. Not worth it!

  6. Sabrina

So excited…I usually dont shop walmart even though I live almost next door BUT they have the products that I was going to Toys r Us for that is 30 minutes away from me and thanks to you and all your readers if I dont snag one of the deals I am going for its ok because I have gotton so many deals already I am starting to become content…lol but being able to price match at Walmart means not standing in a long line outside tru!!!!

  7. Amy C.

That’s tempting, but not enough. Wasn’t there a worker that died in 2008 at a Walmart Black Friday Store Opening? I’d rather sleep in an extra 30 minutes.

    • Brandy

Wal-Mart has worked tirelessly for the last two years to make sure that doesn’t happen again. The trampling was the fault of the hoards of people that could not control themselves – Wal-Mart did nothing to encourage it and prevented it as best they were able. They start planning for this in early October and it is a well coordinated event because of that 2008 incident.

    • Susan

Says more about the clientele than the store.

  8. megan

also, with super walmart being 24 hour how does BF work. do they let people in to line up by specific products or do they close thursday night and open again at 5am?

    • Melissa S

Last year at my 24 hr Walmart they let people in on Thanksgiving. There were bags over the doorbusters that were uncovered at the hour the sale started.

    • Rachel

Wal-Mart doesn’t close on Thanksgiving. People start lining up at 10-11 pm for the 5 am specials. I got to Wal-Mart last year at 2 am to get in line to realize that the three items I wanted were technically gone already because of all the people already in line. If you have to get something at Wal-Mart, I suggest shopping at home on your computer.

    • Demekadj

No they stay open. At our local Walmart they have the BF deals “wrapped up” on flats until 5 am and then they undo them. People usually just gather around the big ticket items or whatever they want most and then work around the store after that.

    • Crystal

They stay open but the items are covered up and located in the main aisles around the store is the way it was done at the Walmart I worked at.

  9. maehing o

Hey Hip 2 Savers… I’ve been price matching at Wally World on Black Friday for a few years now, and it is great because there’s not a bum rush for those items, esp. the toys. It does have to be exact items! Happy Saving/shopping everyone!

    • momwhocares

You know I was just about to say why I wouldn’t go and how crazy it willbe with everyone hopped up on energy drinks and donuts – but now I think I am going shopping! You are so smart!

  10. Heather

Silly question (comes from living overseas with the military for so long), but where/when do the ads come out? Thanksgiving morning? Early enough to still hit the 5:00 a.m. Walmart “opening”? I’m assuming that I’ll have to have the ad in hand in order to price match — printing off the ad scan will probably get me nowhere.

    • Sarah

They’re usually in the Thursday paper.

    • Courtney

Where I’m from the ads usually come in the Wednesday paper. That way you have plenty of time to plan 😀

    • Melissa S

yes the ads come on Thanksgiving. (in the paper) and they only accept the full ad not partial or internet printed.

      • Melissa S

also, some ads are already on the internet. one place I like to look is black-friday.net

    • Samantha Booker

Also if you just want to view some deals early, try blackfridayinfo.com and bfads.net. You can even select the item you are interested in ( like Digital Cameras) and it will show you all of that product in a particular ad! Just remember you have to bring the physical ad from the paper in to price match.

  11. Kristin

Here’s a question. If we bring in the Rite Aid ads or Walgreens ad, will they match the price that is given AFTER register rewards or up rewards?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My walmart will not, also they will not price adjust for a competitors coupon.

    • Mari

Mine won’t either, because with RR and ECB’s technically you aren’t getting the item for that price, you are getting it for whatever you pay and you get an ecb or rr back, and as someone who has had ecbs and rrs expire on her, I know not everyone cashes in their ecbs/rrs, something that they take into account. Similar problem with the % off items, the stores might inflate their prices, or just have regularly more expensive, so 50% off one stores item can be very different to 50% off Walmarts item (I see it a lot in grocery store ads, the item on sale elswhere sometimes is the same price or higher than the regular price at walmart), and I only know this because I have been to the other store, since lots of times the % off ads don’t tell you what the new price is (if they did, sometimes Walmart will match it).

    • Samantha Booker

The cool thing is that unlike Target, Walmart does price match stores that require a loyalty card to receive sale prices like Kroger and CVS. https://walmartstores.com/7659.aspx

  12. kayla

Question in refrence to Leapfrog Tag. Do u have to buy the pink one for girls or is the green ones for girls too? thanks

    • Megan♥

Girls can use the green one! 😉

    • Mindy

My little girl uses a green one and loves it : )

    • tilla ham

i don’t know why, but this made me laugh..i am a mom of three girls, and if i bought any of them something pink they’d probably wonder what was wrong with me, girls like other colors too!!!

    • MommySpendsLess

I actually just bought my little girl a Toy Story alien Tag Jr pen, which is blue and green. So no, not everything has to be pink…in fact my friend’s oldest daughter favored yellow and the youngest one’s favorite color was red. Random tidbit: studies showed the the color most preferred by children of both genders (I think under 12) was purple, followed red.

  13. Michele

I have always price matched at WalMart but in the past few years I’ve stopped shopping Walmart as much as possible. I’ve found the service they used to offer that made me a loyal customer is gone and I’d rather spend my money elsewhere. I understand avoiding the whole rush of trying to get a sale price just check around almost all stores will do price matching – Target, KMart, Staples, Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot – they all have price matching and YES the trick is that it has to be IDENTICAL and often Black Friday items especially at Walmart are specific for that day – the toys are the best thing to price match usually. My kids are older now so it’s a bit harder but still worth it. I can say this for those stores that have 3 or 4 of a huge sale item THIS is how you get the price you want and not be there all night waiting in line. 😉

To the woman that asked about the individual being killed at Walmart, yes that happened now they do not lock people out of the store; instead they allow you shop but you cannot buy the special until the set time – normally they have a line form and give out numbers so people can have a fair chance. Personally I don’t think any sale is worth getting up at 3:00 a.m.

    • Jill

      Kmart doesn’t price match.

      • vicki

really? my Kmart does all the time; though maybe not on Black Friday…

    • Laura

I just saw last night on yahoo news a lady was already camped out at a Best Buy. She said there wasn’t anything specific she was in line for just the point of being first…..CRAZY!

    • sara

I don’t think best buy price matches on black friday? I tried one year and they said no.
I think it’s their policy just for that day???

  14. Ipreferpublix

It still doesn’t make me want to go anywhere near walmart. Especially on black friday. Nope, nuh-uh, not gonna happen.

    • Jessica K

      Amen!

      • kim

AGREED! There are HUGE check out lines at my Walmart EVERYDAY. I can’t imagine what Fridays will look like.

    • audrey

      Amen I hate Walmart!

      • Karen

I agree! I hate Walmart, not deal is worth going there and being around crazy people with no manners!

  15. Takako

    I will be there!! 🙂

  16. Violet

I also have a question does the item have to be one of Walmart black friday deals? I want to get the 32gb Ipod deal from Toys R Us but Walmart is only having a deal on the 8gb Ipod.

  17. richelle

Heads up they did this last year, but I was very disappointed! They will not match % off, it has to have an exact price on it, so socks for 50% in the Fred Meyer ads won’t work, it has to be the exact item with an exact price. It was crazy and REALLY held up lines only for people to find out they wouldn’t match half their stuff. Just a heads up. I wouldn’t do it again!

    • kayla

its been like that at walmart forever. No % off or BOGO. Food their not so picky, but other than that it does have to be the exact thing. Or you find someone you know works there. It all depends on the cashier.

    • Sarah

It makes sense to me that WalMart wouldn’t match percents off. 50% off of their price is a lot lower than 50% off other places like JC Penney or somewhere that marks their items up, then puts them on sale…

  18. Elisabeth

Just another heads up…Last year when I went to Wal-mart and price matched on Black Friday they wouldn’t match the price until after the sale started. So if the ‘door-buster’ sale doesn’t start until 8 they won’t price match until 8. But with stores opening at 3 and 4 in the bless-ed AM that may not be an issue for some people!!

  19. lvaus

No… forgive me for being Mrs. Negative, but I don’t like WalMart:( It was my only option for 12 years and now I’m in a city of 100K where WalMart is more like MethMart. It’s a very depressing experience. I’ll stick with Walgreens, CVS, RiteAid, Best Buy, JCP, Sears, Pier I, Michaels, TJ Maxx, and Office Depot. Thank you Collin for introducing me to this way of shopping and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your parents. I’m glad you are able to be with them! I really am thankful for you this Thanksgiving!

  20. Kristina

I price matched at Walmart last year (I used to do it at Meijer, but they stopped price matching last year) and it was great. I got there around 1 am and most of the ad items were out in the center aisles all over the stores. The only items that were covered on skids were bigger ticket items, i.e. GPS. The electronics (TV’s, Nintendo DS, laptops) were not out at all, but there were areas for each item and you could stand in line for the particular item you wanted. They weren’t handed out until 5 am when the sale started. I would highly, highly suggest going with friends. That way, you can take turns standing in line while the other(s) get what they need that is already out. Also, make sure you get in line before the lines get long. I usually try and line up at least 30-45 mins before the sale starts (so, 4:15-4:30 for the 5 am sales), most years I’ve been the first in line. That way, you’re out of there in time to go to the next store. Price matching on BF is like couponing. You have to be ORGANIZED!!! You need to have a full page ad of the item you are matching and be ready when you check out. Also, as someone said above, they will not do % off or B1G1 and the item has to be the exact same. I would suggest putting all of the items you are price matching in a group on the belt, separate from the items that you aren’t price matching–it will make it a lot easier! You can definitely run into unhappy cashiers and shoppers on BF, but for me, the high of all the incredible prices far outweighs their bad attitudes. It is FUN!!! Happy shopping 🙂

    • Leslie

I couldn’t have said that better!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

where do you live? Just curious so I can move there! Here in LA, I there was still a line to get INTO the front doors of my Walmart at 9am! Crazy!

  21. RENEE

I was going to until I got the DSi and the Acer Laptop at the Pre-Black Friday Target sale today. Yeah! I get to sleep in!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What was the Pre-Sale on the DSi at Target. I am wanting to go to Walmart for the DSi, but would rather find just as good of a deal and not have to go. I did price matching last year at Walmart and it was great. Alot of the popular items on sale at other stores at BF prices are gone as soon as the sale starts, BUT if Walmart does not have those particluar items on sale for their BF sale, you will usually beable to find plenty of stock at Walmart to have the price matched.

      • Tiffany

The white DSi is priced at $119 at Target and on Target.com through tomorrow!

        • Hilary

The white DSi is out of stock on Target.com 🙁

  22. Sam

I will be sleep-in! I really don’t need much of anything this year and have all my xmas shopping done. But, I like the idea of Walmart price matching!

  23. Esme

Do you know when the Wal-Mart online deals for Friday will be posted or can you buy certain items that are in the ad ?

    • Sarah

The ads are posted already on blackfriday.net- you can’t buy anything in that ad until Friday, online or in store. Only certain deals are online, they are all in store.

      • Sarah

Oh, sorry, you’re looking for online deals. It’s LATE, I should be sleeping.

  24. ashley

Nah.. no Walmart for me. My hubby is even a Walmart employee (pharmacist) and they treat their employees crappy. Bad benefits, bad upper management, etc. I hate putting money into walmart. My heart belongs to Target : ) Lol!

    • Monique

Haha this made me laugh…I actually feel the same way! My husband also works at Wal-mart and I NEVER go there. HA, my heart is also with target…just wish we had one less than 45 minutes away! I buy most of my stuff online!

    • Confused

My husband also works at Walmart but they treat him like gold. They recently offered to buy him new glasses when he broke his. They work around his schedule for our son’s surgeries and they let him keep his cell phone by his side even though it’s against policy just so we can stay in contact if there’s a problem. I don’t think it’s the company that treats their employees like crap but most likely the individual stores. My husband isn’t even a higher up, he’s just the toy guy.

  25. amanda

I price matched a movie this morning at Walmart using the new kmart sales paper and the cashier almost wasn’t going to price match it. Kmart had it on sale until Wednseday for $2.99 while Walmart was selling theirs for $10. She thought that there was a too big of a price differnce even though it was the exact same one. CSM explained to her it was right so she price adjusted it. So heres my advice look for a cashier who looks like she may have worked there a while so you won’t have any problems price matching.

  26. Susan

On a side note, I heard that Target is putting the older white Wii on clearance for $139.98 and with the $20 off coupon in their Sunday ad, it makes the Wii $119.98 for the console. Its not including any extra games or a bunde (all Wiis have the Sports in it). The older ones don’t have the motion plus built into the controllers like the new ones rolling out do.

To check if your Target has any:
    https://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/mobile_fiats.jsp?title=fiats&dpci=207-25-1&desc=Wii%20clearance%20139.98%20Target%20ymmv

Personally, I like the new red Wii better because the motion plus is now built into the controller and it comes with the $49.99 Mario game included (and because its red), but this might be a great find for someone who is on a budget and can’t/doesn’t want to fight the crowds on Black Friday. As always, I recommend calling ahead and seeing if they are indeed in stock, they’ll take the coupon, and if they’ll hold it for you. It really stinks when something goes wrong and it feels like you wasted your time.

Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving and this Holiday Season!!

    • Kim

So are they currently on clearance or going on clearance in the future? Thanks in advance.

  27. melanie

Does anyone know if Target will price match other stores BF deals like Walmart? Target price matches ‘now’ on groceries and stuff – but will they on a bf deal?? Also, will Walmart price adjust if you buy an item on Thursday and it goes cheaper on bf the next day?? Anyone know?

    • Melissa

I asked and the cs lady said they won’t price match door busters (like 5am-7am specials) or offers where you get a GC or promo item. The only issue I have is that you have to buy the item, then GO to cs for the PM. I sure wish you could do it at the register like wm. My mom wants that Shark steam mop. WM will have it for $36 while Target will have it for $49. Thats a $13 difference and my plan is to go to Target only, so I hope I can PM since the WM ad said the price is all day.

      • melanie

        Thanks Melissa 🙂

    • Heather

I was in Target this morning asking this very question. According to the Manager they will not price match Black Friday Ads. May want to double check with your store just in case it varies by state!!!

  28. thj0011

Another thing, if you’re price matching something from Best Buy or another store like that be sure to read the SKU number listed. I worked at Best Buy awhile back and for many of the BF deals they had special SKU numbers on the items so that they wouldn’t match identical at other stores. It was a way of loopholing around the price match. Some people had a problem with this when they went to Walmart and some didn’t. It all depends I guess, good luck to everyone heading out. Thankfully nothing I need is on sale this year. Be safe out there.

  29. SuzieQ

NO. I do not like Wal Mart’s policy. They come in & try to put everyone out of business. I do not shop there except as a last resort. They don’t put out ads but will cut other stores by a penney.

    • Susan

I went into my Super Walmart yesterday to put up some groceries and they had their greeters handing out the Black Friday ads.

      • Susan

pick up some groceries… not put up

  30. Kris

Does anyone know if you will get a gift card along with a price matched item? I was looking at going to Toy R Us for the Ipod touch but would rather get it at WalMart if I can get a gift card along with.

    Thanks,

    Kris

  31. Erica

I don’t know if this is only local or at every Walmart, but this year, they are starting the BF sale on everything except electronics at 12:00 AM.. the electronics sale starts at 5 am. Just wanted to give you all a heads up. I would check the BF ad in the Thanksgiving day paper.
Now, on to my question, will Walmart price match a game system that is not part of their BF sale?

    • LilKim

Walmart will price match anything in a competitors ad, as long as the same item is available at Walmart. It doesn’t have to be in Walmarts ad, you just have to bring in the competitor’s flyer. That’s actually a BEST case scenario for a price match – somewhere else has it on sale (will be sold out super quick) while Walmart doesn’t (no waiting in line for the item, and they have plenty available) and you get the same “doorbuster” price without risking life and limb, since its not on sale at Walmart.

  32. Joanna

Ok girls for the slow one. If WM’s sale starts at midnight and everyone else doesn’t start until 4 or 5. Can we still price match at midnight?

    • Andrea

Probably not. I imagine Walmart will not honor the price from the other store until the time the other store starts the sale.

  33. marissa

This is a lifesaver for me. I really want the $198 eMachine laptop from Walmart and was going to get there at 11pm Thursday night, and miss openings at all the other stores while I’m waiting. Now I can just bring the ads and get the items at Walmart.

    • audrey

In past experience by 11:00 PM where I live all electronics are spoken for. You may want to rethink that. I have found that the lines for the electronics starts around 4-5 PM in the afternoon if not earlier. Last year a numnut was there at 2. Talk to those friends around you who may have done WM electronics to find out a great time if you are really wanting an emachine. Just a heads up

    • laury

I also want the computer. What do you mean that you can just bring in the ad? You need to get in line to get the computer just like all the 5am specials. Am I missing something?

      • Kim

I think she means that there are other items at other stores she wanted to get. So she’s going to bring those ads in get those items at Walmart with the price match. Nothing to do with the computer other than the fact that she is going there to get that too. HTH!

  34. happyone327

Walmart price matches all year long as long as the item is identical. I used to get cheaper new release movies all the time when Best Buy put their ad out with the best price. Unfortunately there is no way to price match items when you order online despite site to store shipping due to the fact that you have to pay as soon as you order. I tried 🙁

    • Jennifer

I think that I read on Sears.com you can send in the receipt or something and they will match the price plus give you 10%. Not 100% sure how it works though since I haven’t done it.

  35. patti

Be warned if you go into Walmart to price match and expect it to go smoothly like at a store with great customer service. The times I have tried it has been a huge HASSLE, ugh! My experience is they try to find any reason not too once you get to the register. That store is not worth it for me but good luck to all you brave shoppers out there 🙂

  36. Paulette

    I don’t care WHAT they say they’ll have/do. I HATE WALMART!!!!

  37. Kaitlin

Will a Walmart in a small town price match a Toys R Us ad, even if the nearest TRU is 60 miles away? Anyone know?

    • Andrea

That is at the discretion of the store, manager, etc. My local Walmart will match ads for stores that are 30 miles away because the manager realizes if he doesn’t, his customers will drive to get the deal.

    • Sarah

Call your store and ask them. Our local Walmart will price match Target’s ads even though the closest Target is 45-50 miles away. But I typically call anyway to make sure that they will definitely do it before I bother to deal with them.

  38. Kelly

Just saw that they are planning on handing out Five Hour Energy Drinks starting at midnight. Really????? Thinking that’s not the best idea.

    • Melissa

um, yeah, I don’t see it being a Holly Jolly Christmas at WM! I can just imagine the scuffles. Who wants to hang out at WM for 6 hrs waiting for the unveiling of electronics?? Not me! Whenever I go to WM, I’m in and out in less than an hour (sometimes waiting to ck out takes longer than my actually shopping)!!!!

So right!! I hate shopping at Walmart on a normal day of the week, being there for 6 hours would be a NIGHTMARE!!! Not my idea of a Holly Jolly Christmas either!!! I want the Nintendo ds lite but there is no way I’m waiting in line for it . It might just be worth paying the extra money and buying it on Amazon.

I wanted to go here around 4am to get the leapster for $25 and $3 kitchen appliances and few other things.. but now all the responses are scaring me.. lol… I’ll have to rethink this… if any other stores price match please let me know…

Went to WalMart(a 24 hr one) for the first time on Black Friday two years ago(never braved it before, always went to Meijer, who USED to price-match.) Set up my Mom in line whle I intended to run around the store at 5 AM grabbing the sale items (only wanted the cheap toys, clothes, etc) By the time 5 AM hit, I realized that I couldn’t even MOVE around the store to get back to my Mom…it was THAT CROWDED. I was stuck in one spot for a good 20 mins. Then when I finally got over to her, waited in line for almost an hour, and tried to price-match, they gave us the run-around because the bar code did not match the item in the other store’s ad EXACTLY. After another 20 mins of finding managers, arguing, etc…they finally gave in & matched. We spent an ETERNITY in that store, got hardly anything we wanted(cuz I couldn’t physically GET to the items!), and missed the start of all other store’s sales. So BE WARNED if you brave Walmart on Friday!! I love the store, but will never go on that day again!

I don’t see even the price matching as worth it. I think the moral with how they run their stores is what has run them down the tube. My own recent experience with a store manager thinking that no trial size could ever be bought with a coupon (regardless the fact the coupon allowed it), and told me that was store policy. Corporate commented to me that each store is allowed to make “it’s own decision pertaining to policy” and that alone should speak volumes of their idea of customer service. They didn’t see any importance of the matter nor do they seem to care about the customer.
It appears as if they are only in it for the power of the almighty dollar.
My advice, be wise when you are looking for a bargain and ask yourself, is your time and sanity worth the aggravation?

Question – so I just looked at some of the electronics items on the scanned Wal-Mart Black Friday ad (i.e. Blu Ray disc players) and the doorbuster price it had listed in the ad is already a sale price you can buy the item online! So, will the Black Friday price really be any lower, or should I just buy it now and avoid the Black Friday hassle! lol

    • Jamie W

So, I just answered my own question! I looked at Wal-Mart’s website and I could already see the Black Friday ad. The only two blu ray players that you can already buy online for the price listed are the two that are available on Saturday morning, not the Black Friday options!

I think it really depends on where you live as to whether this is a good idea or not. I live in a small town. I have lined up at 3 am for a 5 am doorbuster the past 2 years and been the first or second in line. It does get crazy crowded, but not the insanity some of you guys mention. This year we are going for the trampoline and wii band hero. I’m hoping neither one of those is going to have a long line waiting. I guess we’ll see…

Does anyone know does TRU price match or no? There is only 2 things i would go to walmart for, and does a xbox game constituite electronics?

    • KIm

Our TRU does not price match.

  45. Rhonda Y.

I don’t know how accurate this is, but thought I would offer the info in case it is. My friend went to a couponing class and told me she learned that Walmart will now take other store coupons! Let me know if this is true!

    • Jenny

I heard this too, but I called a few Walmarts around me and they will not accept competitor coupons.. So i guess you would have to call and see..

  46. Betsy

So what is the thing with doing the deals online? For example, the doorbusters, are they available on walmart.com???

    • laury

They were last year. BUT I checked this year and the computer I want is only available in the store.

  47. Joan Southwick(Jafra Lady!)

    I don’t believe in Walmart…….

  48. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So walmart wont price match on Thursday even though the press release says “three days of savings”?

    • LilKim

Walmart price matches every day of the year, not just Black Friday. What’s special here is that they will actually price match a doorbuster (usually the super good sales on BF are only valid for a certain number of hours) Other stores that price match (Target, Best Buy, Toys R Us) usually DON’T price match doorbusters or Black Friday deals.

If you go in on Thursday with a deal that is good on Thursday, they’ll match it (if your walmart is open) If you go in on Friday at 1am to match a deal that isn’t good at target til 4am, they’ll make you wait til the deal is actually available at the other store (at least that is my experience)

  49. Lindsey

Walmart is the only store in my town and I would have to travel 30-40 minutes to do any other BF shopping. I am not planning on shopping this Friday because I am really not in the market for anything to go fight crowds lol HOWEVER, I know a lot of people hate Walmart but our Walmart is fantastic and they’re really good about pricematching! If I see something I can’t live without I’ll definitely hit up Walmart!
