A friend at work informed me tonight that Best Buy is giving people (presumably people who haven’t used their Reward Zone cards in a while) $15 or $20 certificates to use before Christmas. I hadn’t used my card in a while, so I logged on to my account and I did indeed have a $20 certificate! Expires December 25th. Merry Christmas to me! What a great deal! I hope you’ll be able to share this so some other people can be pleasantly surprised.
Let us know if you discovered a gift certificate in your account as well. Also, keep in mind that this offer appears to only be valid for existing members and not members that sign up today.

We have a Rewards card we use but never established an online account….I guess we wouldn’t have anything then right?
I would call 1866-797-7367. They might be able to still get you one. I called and got one for $20
Sweet! I had a $20 one in my account. I got How to Train Your Dragon and Grown Ups – on sale – so both for $26.98. Minus the $20 reward and a $5 gift card I got for buying those two DVD’s, I paid $1.98 for two movies!!!

Kristin: The ad says that How to Train your Dragon is $19.99 and Grown ups is $14.99. Were they didn’t prices in the store?

ok i called for the second time, waited on hold for 25 min. and the lady said she would give me a $20 certificate it would be available in 5 days
I called and they said they couldnt give more then a 10 dollar one if they didnt send an email. You are so lucky.

I didn’t receive one…I called and waited on hold :). They said I wasn’t included but added 250 pts to my account (equivalent to $5.). So that is something! Give them a call and give it a shot!

Yeah I agree with you. We hadn’t used our card in a long time but bought something during thanksgiving sales. It makes so much sense to reward the people who do not use there rewards card.

My husband has a personal rewards card account, and I’m in charge of my work’s rewards card account (which I’m allowed to keep the rewards from). We got a total of $40!!!! What an amazing Christmas surprise! 🙂

I can’t believe Best Buy did not send some people an email about the certificate in their account. If they put the certificate in your account they should at least let you know about it. They sent me an email about my certificate being available (otherwise I would have never looked for this either). Thanks Collin for posting this for those who didn’t get a email from Best Buy. Good for Best Buy for giving certificates away. Bad on them for not letting everyone who was getting a certificate know via email. Happy shopping to those who got the certificates. 🙂
I’m surprised too. I had an email last Friday from them saying I had a $20 certificate waiting.
I wonder if some people just didn’t read the email. I got two emails…the first one I deleted not realizing what it was. The second one they sent was reminding me that it expires on Christmas Day. I was like, “OH! I have a free $10? Sweet!”

It’s worth it to call if the reward doesn’t show up. My husband was on the phone with Best Buy for 5 minutes and they gave him 1,000 points which equals $20. I’m so glad I read this blog!

I didn’t have anything in my account. We spent over $4500 there the last 3 months, hubby bought me a dslr for my bday in sept, and in oct. we spent $3500 on a 3d hdtv, bluray player, movies….i called best buy & they are crediting my account w/a $20 g/c which will be redeemable in 7-10 days, and good for 180 days, i was only on phone for less than 5 min!

I went to check and for some reason the e-mail I used with them said not valid anymore so I had to redo it and have nothing. 🙁 don’t shop there much and forgot about the rewards card (my hubby got it when he bought me my laptop a couple years ago) and used it last year to get my girls a computer but that is it. rats.
