Hip2Save Christmas Toy Donation…
I am so excited to post this video today. Just yesterday, I was able to go to the Amarillo Downtown Women’s Center to donate over $1,250 worth of toys to Toys for Tots! These toys were chosen by the 25 lucky readers who won the Hip2Save Christmas Giveaway. In addition to the toys that were purchased via Amazon.com, Jasmere was nice enough to donate several vouchers throughout the last few months that I used to purchase items for today’s donation as well. That was really touching! I have been so busy this semester going back to college, that I have not seen many things online or on Hip2Save, but this is just amazing that this was possible! Every year for many years, we were part of a “toy run” that collected new toys to be presented to the local hospitals on Christmas morning! It was a very joyous event – very rewarding. After moving away, we began to have our son (who is 6 now) clear his room of half of the toys and take them to one of the local collection units. I love getting him involved and seeing how he can make an impact and being aware that there are many people who are completely less fortunate than we are. I may be a newly single mom – college student on a very limited budget, but I feel that teaching my son these things will give him a valuable lesson for the future!
