This is great! I can send some nice lilttle care packages to soldiers now!

  2. Megan

Great deal! Does anyone know how long these stay good??

  3. holly

great deal only problem is shipping starts at $15.99 no matter what you get.

    • Lynn J.

      holy cow!!

    • Holly

Not true for me- 7.99 is the shipping on the beef sausage trio- I can ship it to my Father in Law in Michigan for a total of 12.49- not bad considering the retail cost is $18

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

OMG the shipping is really expensive. I added 2 things to my cart and it’s over 15.00 to ship.
Not worth it unless you are going to ship it to a soldier. Thanks anyways Collin.

    • Monique

WHOA, that is CRAZY. 15.00 shipping? Oh man…

      • Monique

Mine actually said 11.99, but that is still high.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I put in coffee and and truffles and it was 15.99 to ship it. πŸ™

  5. Charmaine

My shipping shows 29.92!!!!!!!!!!! And I only have 2 things in my cart! Whoa!

  6. Jackie

Shipping goes by your total purchase before discounts. There is a shipping chart on their site. They unfortunately did not discount it to go along with the discounted price of the items.

  7. Sarah

I had to wait for the confirmation email to see final total. Even when I hit “Place Order” it wasn’t discounted yet. Gave me a scare! But what a great deal.

  8. SUSAN

Does anyone have a soldier I could send one to? Maybe a son/hubby/brother/daughter/wife/sister who could distribute to their buddies?

    • Amanda

My brother is overseas and has been eating a lot of MRE’s lately! I know him and his buddies would greatly appreciate this! Please email me personally for his address… cantuaok3@gmail.com
Thanks to anyone who sends! He is a GREAT guy!

    • cnor

      Susan,
Go to anysoldier.com and find a soldier who is representing his/her unit. We have adopted units for a couple of years and it is so good for the soul. The service people are thrilled and so are we. We send food, hygiene items, games, you name it. The units appreciate it and they also appreciate just getting mail. Some of the kids over there have no one and letter is worth gold to them. A goodie box is a treasure chest. Give this a whirl.

      • Catherine

Thanks! Hubby and I just did this. We chose a soldier that is from the state we live in. Now that I have his address, tomorrow I’ll get my 2 year old involved and we’ll write a letter and draw a picture to let him know the package is coming.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Please know that many pkgs to serfvice cannot contain pork and not sure about beef. please check beforfe sending.

        • sarah

Beef is fine.. the only reason for pork is due to cultural beliefs. Used to send my hubby summer sausages all the time.. was great for when he was out on missions.

    • Nicole

My brother in Afghanistan would give his to a buddy. Email me and I’ll give you his info. nicolelovesgod@yahoo.com

      • Jenn

We just sent a care package to a friend of ours who is deployed to Iraq. Just make sure you click on “Military Gifts”, as that section contains the only gifts that you can send to a service member. I think the selection is 6 or 7 items, as low as $6.50 with the 75% off discount. We just sent the holiday pack (regular $50) for $12.50. No tax and no shipping!!

  9. Cecilia

If anyone wants to send something to a great person overseas (free shipping☺) please email me and I will give it to you,Thank you!

    cecilia_marassi@hotmail.com

    • Cecilia

I don’t know him personally but he is my “adopted soldier” (through “adopt a US soldier”), He is married and has a daughter. He is from New Jersey and I know he will be happy with anything. Thank you again!

      • Abby

I think it’s a wonderful idea to send this soldier items, but because of OPSEC his address shouldn’t be posted here. My brother is in Afghanistan and I know they’ve beat it into our heads not to post addresses in a public forum. Just thought I’d let you know since you might not know that. πŸ™‚ Happy New Year and THANK YOU for supporting our troops!

        • Cecilia

you are right, I took it out, I completly forgot about it:(

      • Jessie

Thanks for sharing his address. I came here hoping someone had done that after I saw the shipping charges! πŸ™‚ I just ordered him the Hickory Collection.

        • Cecilia

          thank you!

  10. Pam

Sounds like a great- Deal but for 20.50 worth of SALE sausage shipping is $20.99 which makes it 6.00 A pound! Yikes!

  11. Eve

Shipping is extremely high — I tried to place a $36.00 order and shipping was $32.

  12. rebate queen

If they didn’t base the shipping on the original price, it would be great, BUT……
my total was 40.00 and my shipping was 35.20!!!!! NO WAY!!!

I called to see if they would do any adjustments, but they wouldn’t πŸ™

  13. Lana

I tried to ship it to my soldier (through adopt a soldier) but the Hickory Farms website won’t recognize the military address and zip code πŸ™

  14. Tilla Ham

thanks, i ordered 5 bags of the mint meltaway candy thingies which are delicious and i plan to use in cookies and on brownies. It came to 17.58 with 10 bucks shipping, so I figured I got 5 bags for the price of 3. not too great, not too bad either

  15. Liz B

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out what to get my 30ish son who lives in another state – and then this post magically appears. After shipping Christmas packages by Priority Mail this Christmas, I’m more than willing to pay for the luxury of not having to package something and brave the post office. And I’m VERY happy with the 75% discount! My son and his family will really enjoy this.

At full price this would have cost me $129.32 + tax and I ended up paying only $52.77 including tax and shipping. Since my budget was around $50, this was a perfect deal for me, in spite of the shipping. Below is the deal I got and it did show me the discount as soon as I clicked on Checkout.

    1 Dried Fruit Collection $40.00
1 Our Finest Mixed Nuts Gift Tin $26.00
    1 Beef Summer Sausage $18.00
1 Cheese Ball Party Pack Gift Box $22.00
    Standard 3-7 Business Days $23.32
    Subtotal:$129.32

    Your Order Total
    Items $106.00
    Shipping $23.32
    Discount -$79.50
    Tax $2.95
    TOTAL $52.77

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Same for me, it was $25 after the discount but when I went to put in my cc info it said subtotal $100 I’m crossing my fingers they don’t charge me $100.

  16. Catherine

This is great! I LOVE LOVE LOVE their dried fruit platters. The shipping was pretty high, but I felt better knowing that I had a WHOLE ham in that order, so pound for pound, I feel like I got my money’s worth. These packs will be great for all the football that my hubby will be watching! I’m going to check the expiration date on the fruit when it comes. I’d love to stash a few for gifts, or for yummy, heathly snacks for the kids. I ordered:
The deluxe sausage collection: $60 (4.4 lbs) sale-$15
    Cheese ball party pack $22 (1.2lbs) sale-$5.50
Dried fruit collection $40 (1.7 lbs) sale- $10
Spiral sliced honey ham $77 (7-9 lbs) sale-$19
    Shipping-$43.56
    Tax-$4.94
Grand total: $98 for $246.50 in yummy stuff. I paid around $2.70 per pound for shipping.

all of the items i have tried to send to APO wont let me send-does anyone know items eligible to send to APO soldiers on this website?

    • Catherine

I sent the sausage gift box that was originally $60 to a APO with no problem. I didn’t try to send any chocolate, pastry, nuts or candies-maybe they have those blocked from APO shipping.

    • Nicole

The one with turkey was the only one of the 3 that was listed here that did work to the APO for me.

      • Catherine

I wonder if it depends on the APO? The one I sent had pork. Man, I hope I didn’t pay for something that will just get thrown in the trash. I wasn’t thinking!

        • Laura

I don’t know – we aren’t allowed to send meat products there but it may be different. I hope not!!!

    • Robin Turner

Use the military gift section to shop.

  18. Emily

That shipping cost is highway robbery. I run a home-based business and KNOW that it does not cost $20 to ship 6lbs within the US. Don’t bother trying to talk to them about it, either, because you’ll just get shuttled around three different “customer service representatives” and after half an hour told to just place the order as is and call back on Tuesday to ask “Tier 2 customer service” if they’ll adjust the (already paid) order. Good grief!

  19. JEAN COOK

The way it’s adding up … with the shipping … you are paying around 50% off instead of the 75% off … which is still good. Just wish they would lower the cost … I do get frustrated at company’s who overcharge for shipping … You’re not getting the deal they advertise…but .. OH Well…watcha gonna do…lol.

    • Emily

Not purchase from them? πŸ˜‰ Seriously, they get away with it because people pay it.

  20. Kelly

I also have a brother overseas in Afghan, He has been having a hard time lately with chirstmas and his birthday this month, I think he is homesick! Anyways, I will be sending him something but if anyone else wants to, I know it will cheer him up.
Plus he is always sharing stuff we send with the others πŸ™‚
He went in to being a marine because of 9/11 because he wanted to serve his country, he is pretty much a stand up guy πŸ™‚

Anyways if you email me at kellyosu23@yahoo.com I will share the info with you! Thanks
    KElly

    • Tee

Just sent you an email Kelly

      • Kelly

Thanks, I know he will be so excited!
        I appreciate it πŸ™‚

  21. caroline

Thank you so much. I just went to anysoldier.com and got an address of someone stationed in IRAQ. I sent a $50 basket for $12.50. YAY! After your order is complete they send you a coupon for $10 off your next $50 order so I am going to go back and get some more addresses.

  22. Alison

I just sent a gift box to my soldier, He loves this kind of stuff. Thanks!!

  23. Nicole

My bro is in Afghanistan. I tried to send him all 3 but 2 of them told me they weren’t allowed to be sent to an APO. I was able to send the one that had turkey. Thanks!

  24. Mary

For those who are sending to APO addresses, under “Shop by Category” you can select Military Gifts. Those are the only items that can be sent overseas, so this can save you a bunch of trial and error!

    • Catherine

That page is odd. They have a whole roasted turkey that’s not on there. The site let me send a package that has a couple of pork sausages, I hope it doesn’t get thrown in the trash. I wasn’t thinking.

  25. Anne

Go to the “Military Gifts” section on hickoryfarms.com for the 7 food items they’ll send to APO/FPO addresses. 1.5# Summer Sausage will only cost $4.50 with free shipping! What a great way to encourage a carnivore serviceman–he’ll love it:)

  26. Tee

Totally off topic but I have one of the 20% off Diapers Amazon coupon codes that expires tonight, email me at southchick318@yahoo.com if you want it.

    • Tee

      Claimed. Happy New Year Everyone.

  27. Carol

Thanks Collin – I love that shipping is free to an APO address! My son will be back in Ft Leonardwood on Monday after being home for Christmas and it’ll be great for him to receive a package from home soon after he gets there.

  28. Julie

Sent two packages to my husband in Afghanistan. I love the free shipping and he loves to share!

  29. Heather

Sent my hero-soldier a gift! Thanks for the heads up!

  30. patti

SHIPPING: I called in my order and the shipping was based on the final cost of the item at 75% off. I ordered 2 items for an original cost of $36, but after discounts it was 9.50…so only 5.99 shipping.

On another note, I was shipping to Altus AFB in OK and I still had to pay shipping. I was told by the rep that only APO and FPO qualified for free ship.

    • Jenny

I just tried calling to place an order and they charged me the same high prices for shipping that the internet has. πŸ™

      • patti

very strange! it must matter who answers the call on the phone. the rep told me any order $10 or less as a final total was $5.99 shipping. I varified at the end of the order. maybe try again today??

  31. HAYDEN

Just found out from my aunt that all my cousins are home so I used anysoldier and picked someone else’s cousins! Thanks for the site! I got so much 75% off today at Target on after Christmas sales – I’m happy to get 75% off for someone else too! I just hope it gets there because it said my zip code was incomplete but that’s exactly the address anysoldier sent me, so I pushed it through anyhow.

  32. Jessie White

Thanks so much Collin my friends here in my deployed location will love it! Thanks!

  33. Priscilla

anyone wanting to send a package to a solider, I know? Please email me for the address, she is doing another tour of duty…this would be an encouragement to her. She is a hip2save follower but of course can’t shop/do the deals while overseas working.

  34. jess

Thank you so much for sharing this! My brother is deployed and this was a wonderful thing to send for him leave in his squadron and share. Thank you!!

  35. BekMomof3girls

I needed a gift to send to my brother for his birthday. Got the summer sausage set shipped to him for $12.57. He loves summer sausage…so this was perfectly easy, cheap, and now I don’t have to leave my house to get a gift in the mail.

  36. Robin Turner

Thanks for posting this. I just sent $200 worth of stuff to my deployed son & the guys in his company in ‘Stan. USMC. In my note, I said “Have a party or two on me”. Total cost less than $50!

  37. cnor

Remember, nothing containing pork can be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan due to the Muslim religious prohibition of pork. Thanks for using anysoldier.com. The guys and gals really appreciate anything you send. I sent a gift to the 3 soldiers we have adopted using the military gift selection – free shipping. I did not try to send the turkey. Be right back after I give it a try.

  38. cnor

Darn, now I can’t find that item

  39. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I order when this was posted!! Everything says on backorder! πŸ™
