I went to Target today in hopes of snatching up some great clearance deals and that I did! Oh and I even found my Couponing purse (pictured above). I bought this purse back in 2009 on clearance… so I laughed when I saw it available again priced at $29.99 (retail cost). I guess just wait a few months and it will be back on clearance again like it was before! Just goes to show… deals always come back around, so like I said the other day – it is OK to miss a deal! πŸ˜€

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I walked out with 3 shopping carts from target today for $165. Toys, tide, dish rags, paper towels, flour, shoes, Christmas stuff. Lots of clearance. Used my coupons and saved $23 n saved 5% w/ my target card. I luv Target!!!

  6. Jessica

I gpt a bunch of stuff but my best find was Vanity Fair dinner plates, plain white 16 packs with snowflakes on the wrapper. They were marked to $0,74 a package but some of the regular packs had $0.55 peelies I snagged so I got each pack for $0.19 !!!

  7. Sharon

On Thursday I found bundle packages of 10 full sized Target tissue boxes for $3.74. That’s about .37 cents a box. I picked up 2. One for my household, and one to donate to my daughter’s 1st grade classroom. I shouldn’t have to buy any tissues for at least a year.

    • sierra

thank you so much for posting this. I found the last two at my store this morning. One that had the square boxes, and one of the longer rectangular ones. $3.74 each.

  8. krystal buchholz

i went to a target by where i live in wisconsin, i bought a 4 in one printer for 39.99, i also got a 5 shelve black bookcase for 19.99! the 3 shelve bookcase was only 9.00! but i need bigger with all the books our family has lol. 9. Jane

KMART….sorry, not a Target note….but, a friendly lady told me while I was shopping at Target about this better deal….the AXE gift sets are on clearance at KMART for $4.98 and with the $3q off the sets ….makes the 4 piece Axe gift set only $2……great deal…..I found these sets near the pharmacy in our KMART.

  10. Sherrie

I was in a couple days ago, everything was still 50% off. I did snag some FREE tag jr christmas books (with magazine and tropicana rewards coupons.) Also pick up a few things I didnt think would last. I plan to go out again later and hopefully its marked down to 75% now!! Fingers crossed!!

  11. sierra

I bought a bunch of the premium glittery wrapping paper when it was 50% off. It’s basically glittery leaves on white paper, and it’ll be PERFECT for wrapping my sister’s wedding gifts this year. It was more than I’d pay for christmas paper, but it’s a show stopper for $2 a roll. I also found some Hanukkah paper for $1 a roll for my SIL. Honestly, we don’t have ANY holiday decor at our house having just moved from an apt to a house.. so we were like kids in a candy store picking through everything. My husband got really attached to some knitted elves he found for $2. I am going to look for those salad dishes tomorrow, that’s an awesome deal!

  12. tina

I want to buy a 9ft christmas tree.. where can I find them on sale now? Target was out of stock yesterday .
    Thanks!

    • MommySpendsLess

Great question! I’d love an answer too. This was my last year sweeping up pine needles! I’d love an 8′-9′ pre-lit tree for next year. I might check out Lowe’s later today (if they’re open).

      • Tara S

fake trees shed too though πŸ˜›

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Didnt Collin post about a 9.00 tree at Lowes a few days back?

    • Sunflower

You may want to try JCPenney. Got mine there on Clearance last yr

  13. Carrie

Oh, man. I haven’t been to Target since before Christmas, and now I’m house-bound with the flu! Bummer. Well, it’s not like I really *need* anything…

  14. branaca

  15. robyn

my walmart NOT target, has stuff for 75% off. so i cleaned house there for next year. didn’t pay anything over $1.75 for pajamas. most everything i got was $.25!

  16. Bethany

I know this is about Target – and I’m a Target girl all the way!! – but I had even better luck at Walmart! My Walmart was 75% off yesterday and it looked like nothing had been touched! I got a 7ft tree for $22, 10pk of gift boxes in white for 75 cents, 3 pks of red cookie tubs for 75 cents, red serving platter 25 cents, but my favorite find had to be a 4 pk of red chargers for $1.25! I saw these at Target in gold, but red is good for so many holidays and to match at our Buckeyes party! Lastly, I picked up a mix of Gingerbread cupcakes, which rang up as $1.50 – not a good price, but I was really curious about gingerbread cupcakes with cinnamon icing – well when the cashier rang it up, she stopped, stared at the price, then said “That’s not right” and change the price to 50 cents! Hooooray!

I did have one good find at Target – Ghiradelli! I found 2 bags at $1.24 used the $1/2 coupon that was an IP earlier this month and got two bags for $1.48! Not bad for great chocolate!

    • Annie

      Go Bucks!

      • Betsy's Third

Nah – that should say – Go Bucky! Wisconsin is playing in the Rose Bowl today. πŸ™‚

  17. mary

  18. Carla M

I haven’t read everything, but I am so jealous of all of you that have anything left. We are nearly wiped clean. πŸ™

    • JAMIE

i had mine out last thanksgiving. i feel your pain. best wishes on the recovery. i feel so much better now and know you will too!

  23. Corinne

My husband told me the same thing last week “It’s OK to miss a deal!” haha

  24. Kellie Jones

I found a pair of jeans in the clearance section a couple years ago for $4. Of course I expected them not to fit but when I tried them on they were perfect! I was so surprised I didn’t buy anything else!

  25. JAMIE

    adorable knit ornaments: 50 cents
    quilted tree skirt: $7.50
scotch tape 3 pack: 75 cents
plastic wreaths: $2.50 (are these totally cheesy for putting around garage lights…plastic with red ornaments and berries? they were half the price of faux greenery but maybe i should have gone that route?)

    walmart was 75% off today:
    glitter ornamants: 25 cents
    6.5 foot prelit tree: $9.50

  30. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Dirt Devil Stick Vac marked down to $3.74! I’m pretty sure it was mis-marked. The lady who checked us out started laughing and said she needs to take more time in looking around for good deals before clocking in every day. LOL!

The ONLY reason I even went today was because of this post. So, THANKS COLLIN!!!!!!!

  31. Love Hip2save

.25 small kid books (hard page books with short stories) in the dollar section. They had 75% pink dot. Great for school presents for kindergarden age kids.

  32. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just got back from target. My family actually went to 2 different ones. It was nice because they had different stuff left at each.
I scored tons of great stuff for $0.25 at the 75% pink dot $1 section.
-3 lotions, 2 chapsticks, 4 sets of bowls, 2 resusable bags, 3 purses, travel brush
I also got 75% christmas stockings (0.50), outlet charger $1.50, and I splurged on a workout dvd (it had a free dvd offer).

  33. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

All of the Christmas stuff was 75% off and when I went there this morning, they were stocking the shelves with more stuff….the dollar section wasn’t marked down though..oh well…still bought a lot of christmas stuff for next year πŸ™‚

  34. Lynn

Throw Pillows – at one Target I saw these in the Christmas clearance at 50% off – so I went to another Target that was at 75% off – no pillows in Christmas clearance so I went to the throw pillow aisle and found them. Red (more of a maroon), Green (more like dark olive), gold (cream color really) and off white soft plush feeling pillows. Scanned them and they were $3.24 each. I bought 6. I needed throw pillows and they match my sofa pretty well. πŸ™‚

  35. Heather W

I haven’t been able to get to Target or Walmart yet. I just wanted to add I have that purse also and it is wonderful! I use two binders and they both fit in there perfectly. My husband got me the purse for Christmas 2009. I had just started couponing November 2009. I thought it was a great present! It wasn’t on clearance when I got it, but I don’t care it is great! I love the two pockets in the front when I pull coupons out of my binder I put the ones I’m using in the big pocket and the others go into the little pocket to be put back away later. :0) Happy New Year everyone! I am very jealous of that Shark Steam and mop for $22 I have been wanting one of them! πŸ™‚

  36. Amber L.

I was thrilled to have a sleeping toddler as I walked into Target today so I was able to look around without chasing her. Asleep in her stroller I found goldfish crackers for .50, ginger cookies for .75, rolls of green wrapping paper (for birthday gifts) for .62, sticker/coloring books of dora for .99, and my personal favorite….Flannel King Size Sheets (said holiday but I don’t know how cream with dots is holiday?) for $4. I live in the North East and it has been lows of 10 with wind chills of -4. These sheets help me turn down the heat at night and save some more $$$. The gift that keeps on giving….Thanks Target!

  37. Jolene Shaw Ogden

Besides all the awesome Christmas clearance items that I found, I was also able to get very cute silver shoes for my three girls for $3.24, and a pair of tennis shoes for me for $6.98, some Shaun White shirts for my son for $1.98 (with the $5 off coupon), and my favorite…holiday pretzel m&m’s for .44 (with coupon)!!! I’m loving Target this week!

  38. Julie

Found a Dirt Devil vacuum for $11.24– originally priced at $44.98!! I was stoked about that deal! It was on clearance in one of the home decor aisles. Also, 12 pack of wash cloths and 4pk of dish cloths for $1.48/item. All Christmas decorations were 75% off so I got two 50 count packs of ornaments for $3.75/pack.
At Walmart, I was quite impressed by my boyfriend because HE actually found a 7.5ft Down Fir tree for $19.50!!! My sister bought this same tree and it is actually really full looking and a decent size for $78.88.

  39. Tracy Y

I Love shopping 75% Christmas stuff and finding things I can use year round! Example – found beautiful white linen napkins marked down – ended up getting 4 pks (2 in a pk) for .69 each. Also found some pet gift packs and most of the items are red and white, not necessarily Christmasy – so the dogs in my life will have lots of new toys. Christmas stuff is great too though – my favorite was a huge Gingerbread house/sled/reindeer kit – my daughter and I will have a great time decorating this next year! Of course I got ornaments and lots of other great stuff too!

  40. Angie L

I ran across some L’Oreal makeup marked $5.78 down from $10.99. When they rang up at the register they were an additional 50% off clearance…I had a coupon for $2 off L’Oreal makeup. Making my the deal even sweeter after coupons at $0.74 each for L’Oreal powder, regular $10.99. I LOVE Target!!! πŸ™‚

    • Cappy

I scored some of the L’Oreal 360 Go clean facial scrubs for .98 cents each after the $2.00 off coupon in today’s paper. I have been wanting to try these for the longest time, but at $6.00 each, I just couldn’t spend the money if I wasn’t sure how my face would react to it.

As an added bonus, they each came with a travel size shampoo. I checked the aisle in HBA and they had regular ones without the bonus marked for $5.99 so I got a steal. I wish I could have found more for the family.

  41. meri

    i just returned!
.25 pink dot merchandise: 5 pairs xmas socks, board book, playdoh
Xmas section- wrapping paper, bows, packing tape, kids plates

  42. Rachel K

I found 3- pack of Enjoy flameless votive candles (red-cinammon and white-vanilla) for 75% off! Making them $3.25(normally $13)!! I was so excited! I only found one in the Christmas clearance and went to the candle isle to check the others, sure enough they were 75% off too! It’s not marked, I just scanned some. I also found a beautiful silver bordered table runner(will match my china beautifully and is not Christmas-y) for $3.75!

  43. Megan

Do Christmas items ever go 90% off? I’m waiting and waiting, but I don’t want to miss out if they aren’t going to!

    • Peggy

They do, but most things are gone by then! I have found a few things here & there though (tissue paper is usually still hanging around by then) which makes for a super deal!

      • Megan K

Great thanks! I was at my Target yesterday, it was still 75% off but the shelves were full! I couldn’t believe it! But just incase, I’m going this morning to clean their shelves. I don’t think I can wait anyways, this is too fun πŸ™‚

  44. PJ

Around here, everything goes pretty quickly. Even by 50% off, it’s pretty slim (I can;t believe how crazy people go for only 30%!), so you gotta get there early.
I did get most of the birthday presents I needed (yippee for Jan bdays!) plus some birthday decorations for my daughter’s party next Dec (it’s going to be a candy theme, so those candy shaped ornaments are perfect!) and a roll of ‘Santa-only’ gift wrap (this year my five year old son noticed that “Santa has the same wrapping paper as us!” Oops!). There was still a lot of wrapping paper, but I’m still way stocked up from a few years ago when I was able to get it at 90%! ;o)

  45. Dada

Nestle Toll House Dark Chocolate and Mint Chips on sale for .64!!! Add the .50 coupon/2 and you’ve got yourself a steal!!!!

  46. Sylvia

I hit up Target the day after Christmas (it’s my mom’s & my annual tradition) and picked up numerous items for 50%. Most NOVA stores clear out their merchandise within the 1st couple of days so there’s hardly anything left for 75%. I picked up a bunch of Bonnie Bell lip gloss sets for $2. Perfect for the younger girls in the family for next Christmas. We also picked up a bunch of Disney Princess lip gloss packages, perfect for party favors for my older daughter. I think they were $1.50. Also a couple of Thermos sets (thermos & 2 insulated mugs) at $5 for teachers next yr. Two personal safes that were originally priced at $25 for $10 for my soon to be college-aged niece & nephew. My biggest score was new year’s eve. I hit the pink dot sales & picked up 24 formerly $1 board books for 25 cents a piece. They’re perfect for party favors for my younger daughter’s birthday in the spring! So much better than the cheap toys I despise in normal party bags.

  47. Madelene

90 percent Christmas clearance at Target.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My Target is also 90% off, too. Woohoo…going to hit it up again later today πŸ™‚

  48. Nina

I get so totally engrossed in all Christmas, holiday clearance items and coupon food shopping – Last week I shopped in Walmart with the 75% off clearance items and I was thrilled to get the pretty Christmas tissue boxes at 75% off $1.98 – for 49 cents a box – I bought all that were left,, pretty toilke red paper napkins, and I found a beautiful Better Homes & Garden twin comforter set w/shams packaged in a pretty red cloth tote bag for $5.88,~ I had customers stop me and say that they wish they had seen it first. Some of them actually asked me if they could have it ~ LOL. I found different shapes and size package of four Wilton cookie cutters also a 75% off for $1.37 ~ ( I ribbon-tie the cookie cutters with gift tags on Christmas presents). The ideas are endless, and every holiday clearance offer I find are always useful.. for my home decorating ~ I even found Hershey Kisses and Hershey miniatures on a 75% sale at our local pharmacy for 87 cents a bag. I purchased 12 bags and they are sooooooooo adorable in my glass candy store jars. ( After Easter I found Brachs jelly beans for 10 cents a bag), I purchased about 15 bags and they look so whimsical in my big clear-glass apothecary “candy store type”, as they sit next to my Hershey candies, I also have all mixed colors of clearance M and M’s, and eveyone compliments me on the “:cute candy jars” :D) Of ourse, I returned to Walmart and snapped adorable Christmas picture frames for $1.25, 24 packaged Christmas cards in cute little bakery, pet, and gingerbread cardboard boxes for $2,00, I grabbed 6 boxes ~ The boxes are perfect for small gifts and I use the inside cover of the cards for shopping lists, recipes and notes, and I always have the envelopes to use all year long. It’s quite funny, when I get so many comments from fmily and friends telling me “I can’t be bothered going for all the clearance sales, it’s just a waste if time”. When they see the variety of all my holiday clearance buys stacked up on shelves, including all my weekly couponing expeditions they wonder hiw I do it.
