Damn! Must have been a price error!
off subject but does anyone know of a price point per ounce for honey? I was looking to buy some on amazon and best deal i saw was about .21 cents an ounce.. is this a good price??
Hi Tina,
Was looking for some promo codes and saw your post. It may be to late but to answer your question there is a way to find out current honey prices. I haven’t successfully found anything online but I have been researching beekeeping (because I want to become a beekeeper) & subscribe to BEE CULTURE magazine. In fact they have a website- beeculture.com. You can look in a current issue that you can find at your library & sometimes at a book store. Look up “Regional Honey Price Report” It is broken down by regions (shows a map & you can find your region) the report gives both wholesale & retail costs. You can then figure out price per oz from there.
Because of my research, & a I have a friend who is a beekeeper, I caution you to know where your honey is coming from. For instance, some companies ‘spike’ their honey with corn syrup, honey from outside the US which is more likely to have ‘manufactured’ honey.
Although honey can be costly your best bet is to see if you have any beekeepers locally and buy direct from them. You can often buy a quart or gallon of honey. Generally the larger quantity you buy the less the cost. You might see if a friend or two want to buy in & you divide the honey between you after you’ve purchased it. Not only are you help support your beekeeper, but you know what you are getting and you can often save $ because it keeps their shipping costs down. If properly stored honey doesn’t expire. You can check your area to see if they have a local beekeepers assoc to get connected to a bk, or check your local county extension office or university. Good luck and I hope I was able to pass on some helpful info.
It’s $5.20 right now…still pretty cheap!
I just got mine…even though everyone else said it was gone…weird!
I just got this deal, after everyone else said it was gone. I guess it’s back?!
I just got this deal, after everyone else said it was gone. I guess it’s back? I went through the link on this blog post rather than searching for it on Amazon.
OMG! Really even if it was free could we possibly need any more cereal. LOL. My family is ating cereal for BL&D already! What we really need is some free milk!!! Thanks for all you hard work Collin. You are my secret BFF.
Here’s a coupon for free milk:
https://www.keepingcents.com/2011/free-milk-w-purchase-coupon-1st-100000/
It shows back up to $19.99 for me!! Weird!
Yay! Got some…this is my hubs favorite cereal. Thank you Colin!
Was able to put it in my cart but when I went to check out Amazon said they were out of stock.
missed it darn..i guess lunch interfers with getting cheap breakfast food at times LOL
can someone please explain to me where the subscribe and save option is?
thank you!
I’m not seeing it either.
Deal is over.
I got it this AM… I didn’t know about the coupon code, but still, less then $5 for 3 boxes of cereal is awesome… even more awesome, my kids actually LOVE honey nut cheerios and it’s SO much better for them then most of the other cereals out there!
This thing is crazy refresh your screen it finally showed up for me!
Everyone keep checking for deals on Amazon. I just ordered a pack 6 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (hubby’s favorite) for $10.56. I used two $5 amazon codes I earned from Swagbucks and only ended up paying 56¢ OOP!!!
is this still available? I don’t see it
I refreshed 5 times and finally got it for $3.64 (just a minute ago).
I just ordered mine for $3.64.. try it again:)
I had to go to amazon and search cheerios myself and found the deal again…just not with the link you provided…SO I got some. 🙂
It’s live again as of 12:36 p.m. EST
Its back at $5.20 thru the link posted above!!
I got it!
I just got it! It was back up to 19.99 and I kept checking about every half hour. Then about ten min. later I decided to get another one for my brother who is a single dad and they were back up. Keep checking, you might find it back down!
got it! thanks collin .
Maybe I’m crazy but $1.21 for a box of cereal seems a bit high for a bargain. My price point is usually $1 for a box. Maybe if this was a bigger box, but it is the 12oz size. But then again I know price points can vary on region. What is everybody else’s price point for cereal? I’m curious.
To me it’s worth it since I have Amazon credit plus I don’t have to go to the store 🙂
It may seem like a high price, but none of my grocery stores double or triple. So the cheapest I can get cereal is when it goes on sale from 1.50-2.00. Also with 4 kids and 2 kids under 2 going to the grocery store is not easy. So free shipping straight to my house = DEAL!
my price point for cereal is .50 a box, and last year i had 79 boxes for free, this year I have about 110 boxes (half were free, half were .50) and I am in WA state near Seattle where grocery prices are very high. I wait for when it can be paired with sales, catalinas and coupons. 1.21 seems high to me too:)
I was thinking the same thing! 🙂 Although, my real though, was “OMG..I must be cheap…”
lol coupon shopping has turned me cheap, which is a good thing, considering it has vastly improved my families debt to income ratio!
got one right now. thanks!
Did anyone else notice that it won’t be shipped for 2-3 wks, says estimated delivery is in February and I wasnt able to find the subscribe and save either.
Mine says: Delivery estimate: January 20, 2011
Where is subscribe and save on this deal?
I got Post Honey-Comb Cereal, 12.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) for $7.62!!!!
It says now that it’s not available to be subscribe to at the moment. I did get the price to come up as $5.20 and the 15% off code worked. But, I had to click the link that said “4 new from $5.20”.
Even if you go there and see the $19 price, the offer is still available! If you look for “More Buying Choices” you may see Amazon there with it for $5.20. The coupon code works but subscribing is not available right now.
Thanks for the tip! The coupon code and everything worked for me!
Wow…..this isn’t really a deal. I mean, where we are in AZ we don’t ever have to pay more than a quarter a box. This would be very expensive cereal……..
Thank you! Just picked some up.
Can someone please explain to me what an amazon prime account is? How do you cancel? I need to buy a book and I’m really watching each penny.
amazon prime is their upgraded shipping service, and it cost 80 dollars a year, yes you HAVE TO CANCEL!!! I believe they give you a brief free trial, but if you do not cancel, you will be billed 79.99. Unless you are a daily shopper on amazon.com, i can’t see how this fee would be worth it
Holy cow, $19.99 for three boxes of CEREAL!??!?!
Ok, breathing again…
I’m hoping the subscribe and save deal comes back, because this is my kids’ favorite cereal. 🙂
