Order Cancellations…

I’ve had a very busy day today, so I haven’t had much of chance to be on the blog like I normally am. With that being said, I did want to quickly give you all a heads up (Some of you may know this already) that the Amazon Hammermill paper order got canceled and so did the My 24 Hour Fitness orders. 🙁 It does stink when deals don’t go as planned, but I hope that all the sweet deals you’re able to score here on Hip2Save far outweigh the ones that don’t work out.

  3. mjk2

The incredible deals I get in on thanks to you FAR outweighs any deals that don’t work!!!!!!! THANKS:) I love your site and got incredible deals for Christmas gifts this year thanks to you – looking forward to all the bargains in 2011 that you help us find.

  4. sheena

  5. nedwards55

No problem. I actually had 2 orders cancel today. My first, so no big deal. Thanks for all you do Collin. I am happy with any of the good deals I do get!

  6. SMG

Both of mine too – bummer, but thanks for letting us know about them! You’re the best at helping me save money!

  7. Alea

Not your fault at all – thanks for always giving us the heads up on deals! I think there are just sooooo many savings sites out there that these deals are going to be harder and harder to get now – seems like a lot of companies are cancelling lately.

  8. Emily

doesn’t hurt to try, anyway. Thanks for the great bargains Collin!

  9. cindy

you win some, you lose some. Easy come, easy go!!! No worries!!!!

    • Takako

I totally agree. Off topic, “Easy come, Easy go” as you said, that’s one of my favorite song which I used to listen long time ago. You know, Karin! 🙂

      • Karin

B’z,right?lol I used to be a big fan of Anzen-chitai, but have’nt been listening to Japanese music since I’ve been here…for over 6 years.

Collin, I didn’t know the paper deal today since I’ve been so busy this week, but thank you for posting the great offers everyday! Sometimes they did go great, sometimes didn’t, that’s all. 🙂

        • Takako

Like lots of other readers said, don’t worry, Collin. We still love you and your site!
Yeah, B’z!!! Love it. I miss those music, too. Yes, It’s very hard to get any those. *sigh…*

        • Annie

I love Anzen-Chitai too…..and Chage Asuka etc ( from 25 years ago!). Strange to find this topic in these comments! I’m not Japanese but I lived there for 5 years.

          • Karin

WOW! Really!? I’m so glad to know that someone(and even you are not Japanese!) loves Anzen-Chitai!!! I heard Koji Tamaki changed his style alot and their music has changed…I wish they have touring US but I know it never happened. 🙁 I brought their box CD set from Japan and still love their music.(I even used few songs at my wedding reception)
Anyway, so surprised and happy to know you love them, Annie! 🙂

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The great deals we get far outweigh the ones that don’t go through! Thank you for all you do!

  11. Monique

    You know it!!

  12. Kimberly

Thanks for all that you do!! We ALL knew that it was a chance that they could be canceled, so no biggie!!

  13. Rebekah

You do a great job Thanks!

  14. jen

Not your fault girl…but I firmly believe 24 hr fitness was bombarded, and just doesn’t want to honor it! Usually when a code is entered and isn’t valid a message pops up!
THANK YOU HOWEVER FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!

    • Lindsey

The 24 hr fitness code was a valid code that was emailed to customers who had ordered a whey protein product. It wasn’t meant for mass release. Someone posted it on slickdeals, and then other blogs picked it up. So they had no choice but to cancel everyone’s order.

  15. Kolina

Off the topic, does anyone know how to add a picture so it will show up beside your name?

    • Alicia

It’s a gravatar and you can upload your pic at gravatar.com. The link is above the comments box:)

    • anna15nc

Kolina ~ If you will look above where you can write a comment you will see a line in bold letters ending with Gravatar.com. Go there and sign up. You can add a picture from what you have on file. I make my avatars through avatar.com. It will link to the email addresses you choose. Also, you will need to choose a “G” rating for it to show up on here. HTH, Anna

  16. Hilary

    Your the best Collin!!

  17. Barb

You are one of the bloggers that are more true with your post. I love following you. I understand when things dont go right once in awhile. At least you tried these deals before you posted but it fell through. Many bloggers do not even try the deals before posting. I think that when there are freebies or super cheap finds (like the paper deal) that require us to give out our billing info, bloggers should try it beofre post. So thank you for being honest!! 🙂

  18. Melindatx3

They sure do out weigh the canceled ones and when you list a great deal, I will be all over it like white on rice! Thanks Collin for all your hard work 🙂

  19. Dianne

Good stuff you do far outweighs any deals that fall through!! You have saved me tons!

  20. Mari

Yup, its totally worth it!!!! You even told us they might cancel, but even if you wouldn’t have, it is still worth it!!! Tis the life of a bargain hunter/couponer 🙂

  21. Christy

They totally do Collin! 🙂 Thank you … you are great!

  22. Renee

You did a great job of preparing us for the possibility ahead of time. It is worth taking the chance because often times they do work!

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It’s no big deal at all. I’m so friggin’ happy with all of the Rite Aid and CVS deals I’ve gotten this week, thanks to you, that nothing can bring me down! It’s only paper. LOL!

Thanks for all of your hard work!

    🙂

    • Jen

Amen! No CVS here, but Rite Aid was amazing 🙂

  24. Kelli Morris

You win some, you lose some. My 24hrfitness got cancelled, too. Not a big deal though. There will be other deals tomorrow. Thanks for all you do.

  25. Susan

If it makes you feel any better, Hammermill paper is the worst paper you can put through your printer. This from my technical hubby that works for “a company” who deals with tons (literally) of printers. 😐 So maybe it added more time to your printer’s life?

    • Angel

      why is that?

  26. Michelle

Hey, its always worth a shot!! Its not like we lose out on anything by trying! Thanks for all you do Collin!! We all appreciate your hard work! 🙂

  27. Lana

All the great stuff I have gotten far outweighs when an order gets cancelled. Thanks for everything you do!

  28. kelly

This one just smarted b/c they landed right on top of each other. It was a good try and really is not a big deal! You do such a GREAT job of helping us out that it definitely DEFINITELY far outweighs any disappointment. Thanks so much for all you do, Collin!!!

  29. mouni

You said it , Collin. The great deals we get thanks to you and your hard work far outweigh the ones like these that don’t work. Thanks again for everything! You rock! :
Can’t tell you enough how happy I am with the snuggie I got for 4.95 at HSN thanks to you! I use it every evenning. 🙂 One small example of all we get from this great site! 😉

  30. vaylene

luv this site!!! Thanks for all you do.

  31. JulieF

Definately happy with Hip2Save…..can’t win them all!!! 🙂 Love this site and all you do!!!!!

  32. Niki

I didn’t do any of the 2 deals. In my opinion, it’s OK for a company to cancel order, but don’t we all deserve to hear a reason why? Just say “out of stock” or so.
I had my BabyRUs wipes ordered cancelled without a reason. I am kind of pissed.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Actually, they (24hrfitness and Amazon) did give the reasons for cancelling the orders. It’s not like one company (name escaped me) who cancelled all orders and did not even inform the customers their orders were cancelled – this is perfect example of poor customer service.

      • Amaria

were you referring to OneStopPlus.com? this company cancelled everyone’s order last time without even notifying!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes I believe so…. I didn’t order from them but that name sounds familiar!

        • Angela D.

Yes, then they had the audacity to blame ANOTHER company instead of just telling customers that their orders were canceled and why…oh and I never did receive the “letter” in the mail informing me my order was canceled..did anyone else lol? I know ya win some, ya lose some and I deff don’t mind that, but be honest lol…

And Colin, I got TONS of deals from your site during the holidays (saved our Christmas honestly lol) so don’t sweat it!

          • kelly

So funny b/c as a result of these I remembered that $1.99 blanket and decided to research it. My order was still up on onestopplus and active! I contacted them and they said the same everyone else heard about the coupon code not being theirs and they canceled it. But if I hadn’t reached out to them, then what??

        • Lindsey

Ugh I HATE One Stop Plus. They didn’t notify me that my order was cancelled, but I have been getting spam from them in my mailbox. They’ve been sending me credit card offers. What a joke.

  33. Rhonda in SA TX

You are awesome Collins and I know and am sure I speak for most of your followers when I say we could not have saved as much as we have without you being so devoted to helping us save money. We REALLY do appreciate all that you put into it. :$

  34. Krystal

It’s not your fault, of course!

But it is frustrating when it happens. I feel like these companies should honor the deals that are put up. It’s not the consumer’s fault when the system isn’t programmed correctly or the deal is offered at a lower price than they intended. I wish there was a way to hold them to the purchases we gave them our credit card info for!

  35. Cyndi

I wouldn’t have even known to try the deal if it was not for you. It is just like couponing in general sometimes everything goes wrong and you don’t get the big deal, but then when it works it really works. I love your site and can’t wait to get home from work everyday to check for the latest deals.

  36. larinda

So far my 24hr fitness seems to still be good…i got an email stating that it will be shipped in 1-2 days, and no cancelation email at all…guess we’ll wait and see if it comes…

  37. Heather

well the fitness deal was obviously not meant to go out to everyone.

the paper deal – i did to – and was a little mad it was cancelled.

but o’well, there will be other paper deals.

  38. Marissa Petersen

I think the whole 24 hour fitness one is bogus. Totally unfair and false advertisement (in my opinion) Not your fault, what so ever!!!! I do look forward to your posts daily!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Really???? How is it false advertisement on their part? They did not post the code on their website or advertise it either. The code got around because someone posted the code that is intended only for people who ordered certain product from 24hrfitness.

      • Marissa Petersen

I didn’t realize it wasn’t a shared code by them. Calm down.

  39. Debbie

Thank you for all you do to give us the best and most amazing deals out there. You are incredible to devote so much time and attention to this, and I am extremely grateful to you! 🙂

  40. Kathi Long Deese

You have helped me save hundreds last year when I 1st signed up, and I’m sure this year, I will be saving thousands, thanks to you!!! Like I’d let a few bucks or a couple of deals not go through bother me? NO WAY!!!! lol

  41. Joy

No worries! Deals come and go. You do a great job! Thank you for saving us all of much of our hard-earned money!

  42. RachelG

Not your fault at all! I do think it’s funny the amount of people who gave a negative rating based on the cancellations. Keep up the good work!

  43. Cat31302

    Doesn’t hurt to try!

  44. Jessica

If everyone would act fairly and use codes that are meant for only them, the fitness orders would not have been canceled. People are so lame sometimes. With that being said..you are for sure not lame…I love the deals you post, and as someone said earlier..for all the great deals you post, I can stand a couple that don’t keep up the good work. For those of you who like flip flops or crocs…or crocs flip flops LOL..They are having an awesome sale. Use novship and thankyou codes for 20% off and free shipping. I got my son two pair of crocs for 22.00 shipped.

    • Katie

How do you know if a code is only meant for you? And how are you supposed to NOT use a code – if a site posts it. Lame is a harsh word for people who don’t know.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think Jessica is referring to someone who mass-released the code that is not meant for the public. Usually if the code is just for your own use, it is emailed to you with message like “thank you for your order of blah blah blah. Here’s the code for blah blah blah as a thank you for your purchase” blah blah blah. If the code is for the public, it would be posted on their website or advertised somewhere.

  45. LIsabella

There will always be other deals.

I always try to think about how a mistake like that could put a company under. That office supply store would go out of business if Amazon put through all those orders. I only did it because I’d hoped Amazon would reimburse the cost of the mistake. I love a good deal, but not at the expense of peoples’ jobs.

    • steph317

i totally agree, a smaller company like shoplet could not afford that. if it were amazon or walmart, i would expect them to find some sort of compensation.

  46. Jess

Ya win some, ya lose some. The good deals definitely makes up for the bad deals. Thanks for everything!

  47. AmyH

Ahh, bummer! It was worth a shot though! Thanks Collin! 🙂

  48. Christa K.

Mine was canceled too. I rather expected it with the volume of people using the code, so I wasn’t too disappointed. Definitely have had plenty amazing deals that outweigh the few that haven’t gone through!

  49. NightmareReader

It’s no biggie. You give us so much, if a deal doesn’t work it’s not a big deal. Thanks for ALL you do!

  50. Teresa

No big whoop! I ordered thinking if it doesn’t go through oh well if it does yeah! I’ll still be here once or twice or ten times a day! Thanks for all you do Collin!!
