Wow! If you have a Rite Aid nearby, check out this email I received from a reader:

Hey girl I just wanted to past this deal along to our coupon community. Well I found out about a deal at Rite Aid. I was able to get FREE Neutrogena Healthy Skin Compact Makeup with Helioplex – Fresh Beige. They ring up $13.99 but if you have a Rite Aid Wellness Card the price drops to $0.00. So it makes them free.

I am not quite sure if this is going on at all Rite Aid locations or what?! But next time you’re there shopping making sure to look for this product and let us know if you’re able to score it for FREE!

*Note: I cannot guarantee this will work, but I thought it was worth giving you a heads up about.

    • Mavis

Holy Mother of Coupon Goodness… I can’t wait to try this deal after I drop my son off at school!

    • Melissa

My Rite Aid in Pittsburgh does not carry Neutrogena Make Up Products

      • Shannon

Mine doesn’t carry it either in Lancaster, SC.. Was sooooo excited to get this deal for our local women’s shelter. Oh, well, Thanks Collin!!! Keep the deal scoming 🙂

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    ill try it today!

    • alyssa

      Didn’t work!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

didn’t work for me either. Either it was a glitch or my store didn’t have the right kind.

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

not to be pessimistic, but it sounds like it will last all of 5 minutes, like most hot ra deals.

    • Tilla Ham

i agree sara, and it would last longer if dozens of couponers didn’t call corporate to ask them if it would work 🙂

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Do people really do that? Bummer 🙂

      • Miss Coupon

        Yup such a bummer.

    • mouni

I don’t want to try it because it sounds like a glitch that may not work for everyone and honestly I don’t feel right doing it since it seems to be a pricing mistake. Rite Aid will lose money on this for sure.

  4. Deb

    Certainly worth a shot 🙂
Grab some today-maybe during your lunchbreak-and while you’re at it, load up on all the free Hormel Completes and Special K, and maybe some more StayFree Pads?
I read the other day-maybe here-folks have used the thick pads on their Swiffer!
I fully intend to try this, this wknd 🙂

    • Erin

GREAT idea! HAHA! I might have to try this, too, because I really don’t need all those pads…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That is awesome…lol! Makes sense, though!

      • Lyn

Wow. That just made me almost spit out my coffee….haha!

    • Alanha Cruz

LOL!!! I almost spit out my coffee too!! This was funny, but a great idea! The swiffer refills are expensive!

      Thanks for the laugh!

    • Bonnie

Hormels are no longer printing 2 ups, just a heads up.

    • rachel

wow interesting! If i get in a bind I use papertowels or just use a dishtowel or rag. I think using a pad is a little much for me. But I am still a newbie at couponing. Off topic but does swiffer every go for a great deal at riteaid or walgreens? I have the swiffer vaccumm uses the dry refills and the cheap swiffer that takes the wet refills. Hince papertowels.

      • Sherrie

I have pick up quite a few swifters for a couple dollars each. I think I have even score one or two for free after rewards. Just have to wait for high value coupon with in store promo to matchup! One will come around, just have to be patient!

  5. Letra

I live in ohio..I ran up to my store and it wasn’t going on there. Great deal, if you can score one!

    • melly

SO did you buy it and keep it or return it? i just hate the thought of having to turn right around and return it if it doesnt work. most of the workers at my rite aid dont like me as it is LOL i dont actually want to intentonally do anything else to make it worse LOL

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Could you just ask them for a price check using your Wellness card?

        • colleen

Yes I did that and still came up 13.99 Bummer!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If it rings up full price tell them you changed your mind and don’t buy it.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Did you try to buy 2 and they rang up free, or just 1, and did you do a price check or was you going to buy this and found out that it rang up free,

    • Lisa

Hello I actually ran up 2 the first time and then. I hit all the store and bought the rest of the ones that were available. It doesn’t matter how many you buy at one time or what level wellness card you have as long as you have a wellness card. Some of them were missing at one the store that I went to. I plan on donating them.

    • Lisa

Also ladies this isn’t an error I asked the manager. He said that it was a promo. As you can see on the receipt is sales DISCOUNT 13.99-!

  7. Tim

    Deal was not working here.

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The date on the reciept is from Sunday so they may have caught this by now but I’m still going to try it out at my store.

  9. Beth

    Didn’t work for me.

  10. Lisa

In mi and did not work here

  11. Jewel

the question is: how many idiotic cashiers will let that go without calling for a manager. Obviously an error!

    • Rosie

a $0 oop actually requires manager approval (at least at every RA store I frequent). I’ve expereinced it several times this week when my +UPs took me all the way to $0 (no tax on food or meds here)… so I’m pretty sure the manager saw this.

    • candie

Too bad you think cashiers are idiotic.

      • Dana

yea,,, I hate it when I see people calling cashiers names,, they make $7.25 and hour and are the last to know everything,, but the first to be called names

  12. megan

not to be a debbie downer, but notice the receipt says 1/9/11…so if this was a good promo, im sure they caught it by now. 🙁 i just tried and it only took off $1.30

  13. Anne

I am happy for those of you who have Rite Aid, because of all the great deals I see. I am VERY bitter because I no longer have Rite Aid where I live and I am VERY jealous.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

move closer to me. Lolz… rite aid is across the street.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

🙁 I sincerely feel for you. I wish I lived in Milford, NH where there are three awesome Rite Aids within a mile of eachother. I would save a lot of time though if I had no Rite Aids.

  14. jamie

I love my local Rite Aid and the employees are amazing!!!!!! They know me by name and are happy to go look in the back if they are still unloading a shipment and get me whatever I want!

  15. melly

i just got back from rite aid and although i didnt try this deal i did do the beef jerky deal
    2/5
    used
    (2) $1 off peelie coupons
    (1) .50 video coupon

    paid 2.50 (techinaclly i rolled ups but…)
    and i recieved the (3) $1 UPS

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I couldn’t find the beef jerky peelies at my RAs here in W.MI. boo hoo. Was looking forward to some cheap yums.

      • melly

i they werent on all of the jerky just the southern style. i might go back sat night and see if they have more and do the deal again the jerky is pretty good

  16. mic

Just tried to do this deal in my store in Virginia, it rang up full price.

  17. Chey

I called Rite Aid’s 800 Number and asked if this was a deal at only some stores, or all stores. The woman said she had never heard of this deal and she’s concerned it’s a glitch or a scam. She doesn’t think this is legit. I think this couponer got really lucky with her card! Congradulations to this reader! Now if we all could only get that lucky! 🙂

    • Annie Moose

Its calling the corporate number that get these ‘glitches’ fixed quickly.

    • alyssa

      yeah that was DUMB

      • Get a clue

Personally, I think trying to scam the store because someone found an error is DUMB. But then again, I don’t like to run to the store for a ‘glitch’ that I know is WRONG.

    • alyssa

      yeah that was DUMB

      • do the right thing

I always point out every single time to RA if I see something that seems to be a mistake. I have morals – AND I want to continue to be able to do the legit deals – if people keep taking advantage of what may be simple mistakes on RAs end they may eventually make it much more difficult or stop it all together.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Right, if we take advantage of the mistakes eventually we may have no Rite Aids to shop at. We need to help them, while they serve us with such great legitimate deals. I would be very upset if loads of people tried to take advantage of my shortcomings/mistakes and I lost loads of money because of it. I would be extremely appreciative to the few who have the morals and would speak up so that I could fix the mistake. It feels better to be honest about the glitch deal and lose out than to take advantage of it. And you know what? When you’re honest you usually get pay back several times better than what you are getting for dishonesty.

          • Anonymous

Too bad that’s reality and there’s no link to actual morality in your argument. If anything, the corporation itself is immoral. The corporation makes millions of dollars in a month so honestly, I don’t feel all that bad about this deal. The business world doesn’t exactly care for morals and you take what you can get, seizing every opportunity. You know the Blink Tears deal that’s going on right now? Are you getting that deal? Obviously Rite Aid looses money for giving out a free product. Why do they give out free products? To lure consumers in and entice them to buy more products. All retailers give out “lost leaders;” it’s nothing new. That scenario is analogous to the current one. It’s clear that there’s checks and balances within the company and there’s a director/manager in charge who may have unintentionally ok-ed the promotion. But there’s also a chance that it’s a discount for certain random card members. Please don’t automatically think couponers are horrible and have no “morals” just because they want to get an item for free.

            • Anon

Weakest argument I have ever heard. They have plenty and make more thn me so it’s ok to take advantage. I’m sure you aren’t a Christian. I sleep soundly at night knowing I don’t take advantage of anyone whether they make a lot of money or not. If someone gives you too much change do you just keep it because the company makes plenty of money? Even if the cashier might be fired dor it. Shameful.

            • Lolo

actually anon. Rite Aid is not losing on the blink tears deal. They are being reimbursed by the manufacturer. The manufacturer is running the promotion, not RA.

    • Lisa

      Thank you girl:)

  18. Toni

Yeah….NOT calling a store or corporate for hot deals is usually rule #1.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      I sencond it.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I third that. And not telling others about couponing is up there too since so many peps are getting on board, its getting harder and harder to get any deals at times. Especially on FB!! Thats like adding gas to a fire. Not good at all. Uuugh. lol

        • Christy830

I think of my savings as a blessing and love to share it with family and friends. Why not help out other people who need it too? You shouldn’t be selfish and keep all the good deals for yourself.

  19. Bianca

I love this website but I just don’t like to see so many people try to take adavantage of what is obviously a price glitch. Using coupons with their advertised offers to get items for free no problem. But to EXPECT to get something for free beacuse there is a GLITCH and to call corporate to whine about it is just not right to me. I am not just refering to this deal but also to the many times they have glitches and everyone starts whining about when there ups don’t print. If it is an unadvertised deal/glitch doesn’t gaurantee that you will get it. If you buy and don’t get what you expected don’t return it. If you don’t need it then don’t buy it. If the unadversited deal/glitch doesn’t turn out then if you really need the item then you won’t be out much. This is just my opininion and mean no offense to Collin or anyone else here that posts.

    • Suzy

      Agreed!

    • Megan

Thank you! It’s one thing to get a great deal and it’s a whole other to take advantage of a system glitch/error. Anyone stop to think if people have lost jobs over these small typos that are found and taken advantage of by us? I am all for a good deal but even more for being fair. Sometimes the idea of getting an item for free clouds out our better judgement.

    • tammy

      amen!!!!

  20. Latasha

Question- to the people that have tried this and had it not work, are you buying the same shade that the orginal poster did? She mentions the fresh beige shade, maybe this deal is only attached to that one color?

    • Lisa

No it is for all the shades on the display because I bought them all LOL 🙂

  21. beth

This is not a deal, it is obviously a computer glitch. I can’t believe so many people are so excited to take advantage of something that is obviously a mistake.

  22. Aleshia

Maybe it wasn’t a glitch, maybe she is such a high spender and she has way more points than most people and they gave her it as a gift. At one point I got two coupons for free products that were each valued at 40$. It may be a way to reward her. You never know.

    • nicolep21

I agree, you don’t know if it is legit or not so why bash the people trying it? The people it didn’t work for weren’t complaining to RA that they didn’t get the deal. I see no harm in trying to get something for free. Sometimes these companies offer freebies to get people to try things and move their merchandise. Many of us don’t have the luxury of makeup, so when something pops up for free I love to know about it. Thanks to Collin and all the other posters here that help us find these deals.

    • Lisa

It wasn’t because of my card level. I used my moms card that she rarely uses and it worked. 🙂

  23. Shannon Williams Cox

She may have gotten it free b/c of her points she accumlated on her Wellness card…just a thought. I really don’t know how the wellness points work yet.

  24. Ailidh

Wow, lots of anger and hate for people that are obviously buying something anyway.

Apparently there are nasty and greedy or judgmental people everywhere. That’s too bad.
I never thought anyone wouldn’t want to help other people in this bad economy save money.

I guess if the people on Hip2Save want to say “Stop sharing deals because -I- am not getting things I want” I will be keeping my deals to myself.

    • mouni

What are you talking about? I don’t see any anger or ”I don’t want to share the deals” Kind of attitude here. Your post sounds angrier than anything I see on this page.

      • Anonymous

Read post 18.1.1. She was the one saying those things. I feel if something rings up free yippee for me. I am not trying to scam anyone. Lighten up people! Thanks hip2 save I still think your great.

        • VOWEN

Yeah seriously, come on we are all adults here. It is a bad economy and sometimes stores do stuff like this to help us (and them) out. Think about it, one of us couponers goes in there to get a free thing of makeup and.. look! Toilet paper is on sale.. gees I’m running low.. and the cycle continues. If someone here thinks it’s a glitch then ok it’s probably wrong for you to buy it then because it is against your moral standards, but if it’s something that could go either way use your own good judgement and don’t try to push your opinions on other people. I’m pretty suprised that people get in a big tizzy over this stuff. I agree with “anonymous” Lighten up! Saving money is supposed to be fun right!

  25. Karol

I just visited my local Rite Aid and the Manager rang it up for me but there was no FREE discount she said that it was ringing at $0 Sunday and it must have been a glitch in the system. She also said ALL the Neutragena was ringing up at $0 on Sunday 1/9/2011 which it what her receipt is dated! So deal or Glitch WE missed IT!

    • Lisa

When I went on Sunday I only bought 2. but the on Monday I bought 22 of them 12 at one store and 10 at another store. I can send Collin the receipt if you guys post it. 🙂

      • Erika

Geez thanks for clearing the shelf! Maybe that’s why noone was able to take advantage of the deal! Lol!

        • Courtney

          Agree!

  26. adlovesmw23

I work at a Rite Aid and I went and tried to see if it worked.lol. It didn’t work at mine. I tryed at first with my associate card and then tryed with my mothers wellness card but neither worked. Maybe someone rang a customer up and saw it was ringing up for free told the manager and they email corporate to let them know what was happening. It has to be a glitch.

  27. Amanda

I work at Rite Aid. What happens with stuff like this is if an employee or manager notices it they just call the rite aid help desk and it immediatly gets fixed! So if you notice your getting a deal dont say anything out loud while your there… Sometimes the systems catch it but if not the deal will stay going until someone logs a racs about it!!

  28. mcarty

I bought 2 at my Rite Aid in Kentucky. They were priced at 13.49 each. The weekly circular (that was available in the store) had coupons for $2.00 off each one, which made them 11.49 each, plus I got a 10 +up Reward for spending 25.00 in Neutrogena products. So I actually gave 12.98 for two. Not free, but still a pretty good deal.

    • margaret in seattle

it might be too late, but there is a $2 MQ from recent insert i believe. if you didn’t use it, bring the receipt and Qs back to the store today to get $4 cash back. my store do that by returning the items and then ring them up again with the Qs you brought in. do it today since you can show them the $2 discount is from the in-ad STORE coupon from the flyer, NOT a MQ.

  29. Beth

I Live in Winston-Salem, NC and just went to two different Rite Aids. Neither one of the stores rang up this deal. I had to buy them anyway and i had coupons so i still got them at a decent price.

  30. Sherry

WHY do people feel the need to call RA corp like tattle tales!? lol lol it drives me INSANE!

ALSO, it probably would have been nice to allow someone else to get in on the deal rather than running to every store and swooping them all up yourself! Be mindful of others!!!

    • Erika

Exactly!! I hate shelf clearers!! There are many around here! Give us a chance!

    • Anonymous

Maybe people call because they might just have morals. Have you ever gone to a store and had an item ring up for free, without using coupons? Even if the store is getting reimbursed like others are saying what about the manufacturer of the product. Do you think the people making the item should have to work for free? Do you work for free? Nothing in a store is free unless you are using coupons, a mistake by the store, or using the 5 finger discount. A mistake by the store or the 5 finger discount raises the prices for everyone else. Be mindful of others….the people who make it, the people who ship it, the people who stock it, the people who work at the local stores, the other people who have to pay more in the store because of mistakes like this and others who use the 5 finger discount

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        Anonymous….get off your high horse.

    • do the right thing

I will always call – and I check out many many sites every day – so hate me if you will. I sure would hope that if I dropped money on the ground or lost something that someone would do the same for me.

  31. Marg

I just left my local Rite Aid and the free makeup was ringing up free yesterday but not today. However, the manager stated that it was gitch but would be happy to give me 75 percent off for the same makeup (3.49 not bad if you ask me). Gitches happen and I am grateful for any discount that a store or store manager will give me.

  32. bawanab

I tried the deal in Oregon and it didn’t work. No major deal, just voided the transaction. The cashier wished it would have gone through so she could do it too. Oh well next time…… 🙂

  33. BLT

The deal did not work here in Upstate NY.
However; If you’re a Gold Member, you can still score a good deal
    Reg Price $13.99
    Gold Member Discount – $ 2.80
    Coupon from Insert – $ 2.00
Coupon from RA Flyer – $2.00
    FINAL Price $7.19 plus tax

  34. VOWEN

Haha, come on people. I feel like I’m in highschool again. Just because something is free doesn’t mean you are stealing it. Why does walmart give out free samples of food.. so you will buy it. A little free means a lot of business. It’s a simple thing come on, obviously Colin is a good lady, how nice of her to share this with us! I don’t think she is out there to rob rite aid. I’m sure Rite Aid appreciated our business even if we got a free item out of it. How many of you have picked up a gallon of milk while you were at rite aid getting deals because it was more convenient than running to walmart to save a few cents. Lighten up, have fun couponing!

  35. Dana

glitches happen all the time, and yes the company can lose money from it,,, have any of you every checked out the stock prices for rite aid??? they are trying to get these good deals in there and work better with coupons so they can get their sales up,,, the future is not Bright For Rite Aid, so lets shop there use our coupons and dont try to take to much when glitches happen,, or you may not have a Rite Aid
