This looks like the perfect thing to have to really organize the things that you need to get at the store. If I was crafty I would make one up for everything that I personally buy at the store all the time.

I don’t really get into the style of it either, but the idea is just brilliant. Maybe if it were just a white board, with your items printed permanently, and check boxes that you could use a dry erase marker on. Hmmm, I think I may have an old white board in the basement somewhere ….
Kim-you don’t even need a dry erase board! Use a regular picture frame, and then put whatever on the underside, and the glass instantly turns it into a dry erase board! I know my explanation stinks, here’s a link to one I made to better describe it…

I actually just use one of those clear sheet protectors. I used the website outofeggs.com (my friend’s husband is the creator) and customized a grocery list from there, printed it out and stuck it in the sheet protector. It hangs by a magnet on my fridge with a dry erase marker in my cabinet next to it. I just mark as I go, then erase them all once I come home with my groceries! SO EASY (And free, since I already had one sheet protector!)

Seven slings Free Sling Scam! Please read

Sometime towards the end of sept one of our “kind” members posted a link and code word to get a free sling from sevenslings.com. Well, i fell for it, and some of you others did too! I have no idea where my sling is, they took the money out of my account for shipping, and I cant get anyone to answer my emails or calls from this site. My next step is to contact my bank, and hopefully they will get after them!

Wow thats not good. They even show they are BBB credited and everything. I think it would be fun if a bunch of us wrote them under they Contact Us page and say “We heard you guys are a scam biz because we have a friend that has never gotten her sling or even a response to her calls and emails.” How did you pay? You should be able to get your money back at least if its paypal or a credit card. Sorry about that for you. 🙁
I ordered one of the free ones through them and had no problems. Received it within a few weeks and it works great for my 1 year old and my 6 month year old nephew.
I ordered a sling and got mine 2 weeks later. It’s not a scam. It is, however, a crappy sling. Perhaps yours was lost in the mail?
i have this really cool wrought iron Pig that holds paper- I love that thing- Also I Always write my lists on envelopes and fill the envelopes with my coupons! What I really love is getting little post its from my hub or my kids to remind me what they need too 🙂

So, I’d read about this and decided to do it anyway, to see if I could get a “free” sling. So many people had posted both ways about it being a scam or not being one.
I received my Seven Sling in the mail about 10 days ago. On Friday I received a phone call from American Express saying my account had been compromised. Someone was charging Canadian Airfare and movie tickets to an online retailer.
Amex cancelled my account because their fraud protection kicked in and overnighted my a new card with a new number.
The ONLY thing I have used that card for that is new in the last 6 months is for the Seven Slings promotion.
Hmm. Lesson learned. Watch your statements like a hawk. SO GLAD I never use a debit card for this type of stuff.
I’m going to file with the FBI.

Maria but it is the national deal in Mamapedia today… Is there a problem with Mamapedia or the seven sling site? Who is the third party? I know that mamapedia deals are legit!
I also ordered a sling through them and it took almost 2 months to get it and by that time I had already file a dispute through paypal and the company never responded to my money was refunded.

Amen- that is an awesome find, LOVE IT Collin! You have great taste in addition to being frugal- I bet that’s got some rich history and worth some $$!
Just a thought to get someone’s creative juices flowing…if you wanted to make something like this, it could probably be really inexpensive. Use a clipboard or even a piece of strong cardboard as the base, print off a permanent list with an image, quote, pic etc. in the center and clip to the board or glue to cardboard. Then buy the small binder clips to use as arrows, just clip around the edges, and the front metal flippy thing would be the pointer. I’ve seen lots of cute ones in stores lately, but you could also buy the basics and paint, attach stickers, wrap the metal flippy part with colorful string or ribbon, etc… I’m thinking the hardest part would be getting your list lined up, might have to print off a couple rough drafts of just the words to make sure the clips will line up when flipped, then add finishing touches. HTH someone 🙂
Great idea using the clips! I think I might try that but make a list for my boys of daily things to remember (homework, brush teeth, etc). Much funner than me reminding them all the time!
Sorry for sounding like an alarmist. I went to google to search the product to see if it had been recalled. Some slings were because an infant had died in one (not sure of the brand). The first 4 entries in google was about this scam. Then when I looked at other posts on Hip 2 Save, I saw the same comment in them and I was compelled to bring it to this community’s attention.
Again, I was not a victim of the alleged scam. I have no details. I just wanted to warn you to double check since it was not posted by Collin.
