Walgreens: Lots of Frozen Food Clearance + More
I’ve heard from quite a few of you that Walgreens is starting to clearance out their frozen food section. Now this may not be going on at all stores, but it’s definitely worth checking out. You may also want to do price checks on these frozen food products to see if they ring up for less. Here’s a list of some items you may find on clearance…

I got Red Baron 2 count singles deep dish pizzas for 99 cents. I stocked up on those…i wish i would have bought more.
I did the Red Baron singles too, plus there was a $0.75/1 manf Q which made them $0.24!!

I got Dreyers/Edys ice cream for only 1.29. I also got some Walgreens brand fudge bars for .90.
My Walgreens here in Texas had the Large Red Baron Pizza (only one of the varieties, can’t remember which) for $2.59. If you still have the IP that was offered back a few weeks ago….only $1.59!
The prices were different at different walgreens in my area. So it doesnt hurt to check at different stores.
I was just going to get on and say something about the frozen clearance!! Another thing is I also found the ziploc bags on clearance and also looked through calendars that they had on clearance. I was able to find some of the calendars with coupons in them and one of the March coupons is for $1/2 ziploc bags! So I bought the calendar and then went and bought the ziploc bags. Wish I would have had a mgf coupon to go with it, but no such luck.
I got Haggan Daas Ice cream at mine (orem/provo Utah) for .40 Cents each! Great Filler Items!

my walgreens also had the Jack’s supreme pizza’s for 1.09. I had the coupon for $1/3 so it made it .76 for Jack’s pizza which is awesome. After I bought 3, the CRT machine spit out another coupon for $1.25 off of 4 so I went back in and bought more!!!!!!!!

I got tons of stuff yesterday all 75% off. I couldn’t believe all the great deals!
I loaded up on the Jack’s supreme pizzas for 1.09 and had coupons for .55 off each making them only .54…not sure where I got the .55 off coupons…that’s why I always take my binder everywhere with me!! Also picked up a few frozen rice stuffed green peppers for .90 and Healthy Choice Healthy Steamers for only 1.09.
My walgreens had the planters flavor groove almonds were on clearance for $0.99 and I used the $1 coupon from coupons.com when I got home I checked the expiration and they expired last september!? Make sure to check before you buy!!!
On a similar note, be careful with the frozen foods at Wags. We LOVE Edy’s ice cream, and when I’ve purchased it there, it was full of ice crystals, as if it thawed slightly and refroze. Gross.

Then I opened another package, and it wasn’t bad, but when I cooked it, it was the worst tasting pizza ever. I will not waste my money this time.
I am leary of ANY stores clearance frozen items. They are always freezer burned or have a bad taste. Think I’m out on this deal.
One of my Wags had a bunch of nuts/trail mixes on clearance. My kids love trail mix so I picked up several for a song! Expirations were all good.
Went to 2 stores yesterday they got the frozen food on sale plus the nuts on sale!!! 79 and 84 cents….
And ensure for 4.19 bought 4 of them use 4 of the $3 off coupon and got 7RR
Also they had on clearance for 2.79 banana boat and hawaiian tropic sunscreen bought $20 and got 8RR.
Every time I have purchased frozen clearance items they were not fit for consumption. I’m not sure I am ready to try it again. Anyone else experience this?
I can see ice cream getting freezer burned easily. Has anyone encounted the clearanced pizzas being bad?

I was going to let you know about this, too! I got some pints of Wags ice cream for about .75, I think, 8 count of Wags fruit bars for .90, the .32 pot pies, individual cheese pizzas for .25 and Good Humor bars for about .75, I think.
I was looking at the frozen clearance the other day too….had my grocery coupons with me..and was going to get the Jimmy Dean Delights breakfast ones with 55 cent off coupons..would have made them about a quarter. BUT…the dates on all of them had already expired…was back to the end of 2010 and early 2011……ugh. Needless to say I didnt get any…..I did get one of the Deep Dish Singles by Red Baron as I had a 1.00 off coupon and they were 97 cents…so got it free…but not sure I want to eat it now. 🙁
I work at Wag & used to eat the Red Baron singles out of our freezer all the time for lunch. All but 1 type of Lean Cuisine at my store was marked down to .90-1.09 & those taste fine too.

I found this on Thursday while buying the cereal deal. Make sure you check exp. dates–I got home and 2 of my Hot Pockets Calzones for 75 cents each had exp. in Feb. Besides what was already posted, I also found DiGiorno 3 meat pizzas 1.79, Red Baron Deluxe Pizzas 1.29, Phillippes 5 Cheese Bread .45, Mama Rosa’s Pepperoni Pizzas .75, Michelina’s Pasta and Chicken .25, Skinny Cow Chocolate Cones 1.39, ind. Klondike Bars .45, individual Ice cream drumsticks .60, Individual tiny Haagan Daz Ice Cream cups .40, Eskimo Pie Bars 1.19, pints of Oreo ice cream .75, Nestle Dibs ice cream bites 1.09. Also found travel pks of Quaker Chewy granola bars 3pk for.50. Used $24 RR from the cereal deal, spent 14.54 on frozen food & 3 pks granola bars (50 items), saved 121.97.
I actually found skinny cow ice cream cones (4pack) for $1.39…..regularly $3.39 and I ate one last night and they were not freezer burnt….being on weight watchers this was an awesome find for me…for once I got to buy myself a treat while out couponing…lol and I didnt even need a coupon!!!!
Thats what they were at my store to..but in the ad there was a dollar off of skinny cows..so I got them for .39!!! and it printed out a 1.50 off any 4 skinny cows..so I am going to look at another walgreens for them!!!

Keep you eyes open.I was driving around the other day and happen to spot a fridge and a stand up freezer in front of some one house for sale. They wanted $500 for both, but when I got home and called them. I got both for $250. The Stand up Freezer I got retailed for over $900. Score 🙂
I went to Walgreens yesterday and their Red Baron single serving pizzas (2 in a box) is 95 cents each.
Since Thurs. my kids have eaten the Skinny Cows, Klondike Bars, and a couple of the pizzas with no freezer burn. Also, when I bought 3 Hot Pockets, a coupon for $1.25 off 3 Hot/Lean Pockets printed, so I went back in bought 3 more at .75 each. Using the coupon it cost $1/3. And then it printed a coupon for $1.25 off 4 Hot/Lean Pockets. Just check those exp. dates.
I would love to go and stock up but I’ve been told by my husband that there’s absolutely no more room in the freezers…yes I said freezers. LOL…There’s been so many great freezer food deals I’ve been stocking up and ran out of room I guess, haha.
I did not even realize that Walgreens has a frozen foods section until this moment. I don’t think they all do, do they? I can’t envision it at some of my regular Wags.
There are two different walgreens within 10 minutes of each other in my city. One has very small freezer section next to refrigerated items, but the other has double the amount of frozen items. The one with the larger freezer section is less than 2 years old, so maybe it’s the newer WAGS with more frozen items???
Yep. Some have a teeny tiny freezer (the wags store mere minutes from my house has one of these). Others have much larger freezers. Not too long ago when there was a hot money maker at Wags I was popping into many wags stores I had never been in before. I wish my memory was better because one of them had the biggest Wags frozen food sections I’ve ever seen.
The one and only Wags in my area, has a tiny freezer area. Just two doors, where they have about 5 doors for refrigerated items. Good score for all those with the clearance items.

At my Walgreens everything that I like was sold out 🙁 They had bunch frozen food on sale that we do not consume 🙁

There is a coupon booklet available @ Target Starbucks that has the $1/2 coupon. You might want to check for the coupon there if your Walgreens and Targets are close to one another.
If your Wags is like mine, much of what you find in the freezer is past expiration date. I hope this sale clears out all that rubbish.
I can’t even understand why they’re allowed to sell stuff past the exp date… But last time I saw clearanced food @ wags it was exp too. Always keep your receipt so you get your money back if it turns out inedible!
They aren’t supposed to, but it doesn’t always get checked like it should.
Lean Cuisine is 90 cents here in CA- spagetti, enchiladas…..there is a chicken one for 1.09. PRICE CHECK them if they are not tagged!!! My moms Wags didn’t have themmarked but she priced checked them & they were on clearance. Love the Red Baron pizzas.
* If you run out of freezer space I have stored my pizzas & frozen meals in the fridge & used them within 1-4 days.
Taquitos were on clearance for .75 – family had them last night – yum!
save your receipts for your frozen items – if it turns out they are bad you can either call Walgreens for a refund and complain, or call the mfg (phone numbers are always on pkg) and let them know….they most likely will reimburse you and/or send you coupons.
Mine had coupons hanging on the freezer door for .50 off Ben & Jerry’s so I them for .69 each. They also had PF Changs ready made sweet & sour chicken for 2 (looks HUGE for 2 people) down from $8+ to $2.25.
I went shopping with my cereal RRs but was going for Coffee Mate creamer. I found clearances on frozen foods every where–no expired dates. Frozen pizzas for 25 cents, frozen french fries for 32 cents, taquitos for 75 cents, TV dinners for 90 cents. pints of ice cream for 56 cents, 1/2 gallon ice cream for 82 cents. All the expiration dates where OK. I got so much stuff–tried to get the “healthy” items–maybe 50 items. Great for spring break and really cut down on my grocery budget for the week. Spent about $8 OOP.
Guys, the only thing I have to say to you if you bought the PF changs meals sweet and sour chicken, is return it while you still can. It is the most disgusting thing i’ve ever eaten. Ugh!

my target had 4-5 employees clearancing the frozen there too. they were having contests to find expired items, in front of customers. eeeeek!
It’s not a food item, but at my Walgreens today, they had the Crayola Glow Station On The Go, for $3.49, down from $12.99. They are $17 on Amazon! I can’t wait to give it to my son for Easter!
I bought several pizzas, ice cream and microwave meals today on clearance in Springfield, MO. I don’t know how they taste, but the expiration on everything is October of 2011 or later, so it’s all still good!
I work for Edy’s so I’ll tell you the one way to check your ice cream before you buy it is to squeeze it gently. It should give a little. If it’s hard as a rock then it’s been thawed & re-frozen. & no they shouldn’t be selling expired merchandise.

nope, unfortunately no coupons. I work on a route so I usually only get coupons if they send us tear sheets to put up. Also, it’s a nestle company so occasionally they mail us coupons for candy around the holidays, etc.
I would have to say my favorite flavor is the new triple cookie sundae one – YUMM. They’re coming out with quite a few new flavors & products across Edy’s, Nestle, Skinny Cow, & Haagen Dazs very soon so everyone be on the lookout! 🙂
I just went to the 3 walgreens by my house. I spent $32.28 on 47 items, and saved $99.90. My son was very happy because we got ice cream and fruit pops, which we normally dont buy. All the items I bought had Aug 2011 and later expiration dates. I did see some things that were past the use by date but we didn’t buy any.
I bought some of the Walgreens brand ice cream for $.82. They had Neopolitan, Rainbow Sherbet and Country Strawberry.
I went this afternoon. Bought 6 lean cuisine, 8 Michelinas, 3 M&m ice creams, walgreens ice cream, and 4 pot pies 🙂
This morning one of the Walgreens had several freezer items were very cheap. The guy at the register said that they were clearing a lot of the name brand items to make room for the Walgreens brand. Yeah for us!
