UPDATE: From reading the comments, it appears this $3/1 peelie coupon may in fact be a Rite Aid store coupon. If that is the case, you can stack the $3/1 coupon with the $1/1 coupon found in the 2/13 RP for a final cost of $0.88!

I’ve heard from a couple of you regarding a great deal on Gain laundry detergent at Rite Aid. The Gain laundry detergent (40 load powder) is on sale for $4.88 this week and reportedly there are $3/1 peelie coupons on the boxes… so just $1.88 after the peelie coupon. Come back to let us know if you’re able to score this deal!

I just came back from Rite Aid with my 4 boxes of Gain. I was in the store on Friday night and all the Gain boxes had the coupons on them. When I just went back today, none of them had coupons, but, the Tide boxes had a few coupons. I took those off since I was buying the product listed and obviously it had been ripped off the boxes I was buying. When I got to the cashier, she asked me if I had ripped them off of the Tide boxes. I was so surprised I stuttered, “yes”. She informed me that I should not take them off of another box. I should use it for the box it was on. I would normally agree if the boxes I was buying hadn’t had their coupons ripped off of them by someone else.

I dont think there is anything wrong with taking the peelies off of the Tide if you are going to use them on the Gain right then and there–they clearly state the coupon is for Tide AND Gain, and I think the only reason my stores did not put the coupons on the Gain is because they were already on sale. The RA $3 coupon is good through September, so who wants to bet that there will be plenty on the Gain boxes starting tomorrow when the price goes back up to $8.99 a box? Check the liquid Tide–my store only had them on the ridiculously priced $17 bottles of Tide, even though they are for both brands and sizes.

I bought 14 boxes of gain today and used the three dollar off store coupons and combined them with my 1.00 off mf coupon and paid $.88 each I also snagged the gain softner for 1.88 each using the $3.00 off mf coupon! Gotta love stocking up on laundry detergent. I also happened to ask the store manager if he had anymore of the coupons that were on the boxes of gain and he gave me a stack of them and since I bought all the gain that they had he gave me a raincheck for 20 more boxes. It pays to make yourself known at your favorite retailers!

I went to RA for the first time today after seeing this deal posted here on hip2save 🙂

I was able to find two of the gain boxes with the $3.00 q and another one on the floor which allowed me to get three boxes with three $3.00 coupons. Went I saw the screen it said $2.85 or something like that; I gave the cashier a $5.00 bill. To my surprise she gave me $4.15 back which I questioned since it didn’t seem right. She said my total was .85 cents hence the $4.15 change. I told her the math did not add up and then I noticed she had put four $3.00 coupons. I said I was happy to give her three dollars because I did not wanted her to get in trouble. She called the manager and the manager said there was nothing he could do; once the coupons go in they have to stay there. I explained that they (RA) were losing $3.00 to which he responded “thank you for being honest and trust me it will not affect the register because coupons are on a seperate category and coupons get lost all the time so all is well”. I got a GREAT deal and made sure that the mishap with the extra q did not jeopardize someone’s job.

Thank you for sharing this deal!

As it appears the Gain is $4.88 in some areas and over $8 here in SoCal, a great big THANK YOU to those nice enough to share your location with your comment. Then, your comment actually becomes useful to others.
