I have a few favorite cashiers at various stores and I always try to be as nice and polite as possible. I’ve previously even given a couple cashiers some of my freebies as a thank you for their patience with me and my coupons! Once you find a super coupon friendly cashier, make sure to let them know how awesome they are. Most cashiers are so appreciative of this and will go above and behind to help you out.

Yes, you will need to do separate transactions for each Almay product you purchase in order to get a $5 RR back for each one. I did 3 separate transactions to get the products pictured above.

Yes, as long as they are in separate transactions and the ‘deal’ doesn’t state a limit.
I did 7 separate transactions with no problem GIVE THE MANF COUPON FIRST THEN THE WAGS COUPON!!! Some of the removers say not a match when they scan the coupon but most ppl with let it go thru I paid $0.53 each =$3.71 for all 7 making it a $31.29 money maker!!! (I did not clear the shelf they has ALOT!!!)wish I had more coupons lol
Mandee, this is what I did when I ran out of coupons. I got a package of Plackers and one Method soap and a filler item (I used snickers egg but you could use something cheaper…there is a penny that needs to be dealt with) use your $5 rr, I paid .97 oop…get 2 $2 rr rewards back and then go do the Almay deal twice…you should end up the same as with the coupons, 2 $5 rr plus soap and dental floss!

LOL! That’s too funny… I had the same issue at first. I went up and down, up and down and could not seem to find the Almay products. Well, finally, after going up and down a couple times, I found them! Yay! There were right in the middle of 2 bigger cosmetic brands (I wanna say Revlon and L’Oreal – but I’m not sure) and the Almay section was very small. Hope you’re able to find it! 🙂
I’m In Michigan and one of our Walgreens stopped carrying Almay but the other one still does! Yours may have stopped.
No, I’m in the denver area and one of our walgreens has no almay at all, but most of the others do, i would suggest trying another wags if you have one near.
I was able to buy the makeup remover on Sunday and it went through. Then on Monday tried it and it DID NOT work. Im in Missouri, not sure if its just my stores. I have never tried Almay cosmetics till now, there are a little high for me.
Yes each Almay must be purchased seperate in order to get more than 1 RR.
Do you know what code she put in to make it work? My favorite wags cashier was just price checking them and then price adjusting them for $2 less since she knew the wags coupon wouldn’t work.
Some of the almay is also ringing up b1 get 1 1/2 off, it wouldn’t be as good of a deal, but if you didn’t want to do a bunch of transactions.
i tried to use both qs today but the cashier said that the booklet q was a manufacturer q and couldn’t be combined. so for my first transaction i used the insert q (silly, i shouldve chosen booklet q), and then the second i used the booklet q — but the booklet q didn’t show up as a manufacturer q, it just reduced the selling price to $2.19. i wish she’d let me use a RR with the booklet q — would’ve lowered my oop. oh well, happy! tried it and the eye remover works well. 🙂

Do you know if you have to give the coupon from the Walgreens booklet (ie. tear it out and hand it over) like a normal coupon? I have three booklets left but wasn’t sure as it is a Wags coupon and I want to do more than three transactions 🙂
No you do not have to hand over your coupon, so you may use it for more than one transaction. The coupon would not scan, so the cashier just enters the amount off manually.
just say, “can I have that back? it’s a walgreens coupon and they are hard to find.” I said that today for both the spring beauty booklet and the infant care book. no problem. even the beauty checkout lady told me to make sure and keep the spring beauty guide b/c they only have a few and keep them behind the counter so one per person.
I work for wags 🙂 and no the coupons that are in the booklet with Walgreens we don’t need them to be teared out we just scan them and leave them where they are.. since they are a store coupons and not mnf coupons we don’t need to send them to get money back.. (at least that what my my mng explained ) so you don’t have to get several booklets unless of course you use them somewhere else as a competitor coupon 😉

careful, all mine for different products and different locations have been taken, they have NOT let me keep one yet. When asked they told me it’s one per customer and If I keep it then I use it more than once, And “my manager wants all of them and they are accounted for and we are responsible for every coupon or it comes out of our paycheck”. Seems as though these Beauty books have been nothing but a problem, they dont want to scan and or they will not allow us to stack them. i am in NY. They would not scan to stack with the dickonsons toner either but I had manufacturer printed. (that would not scan either but she pushed it manually)
Darn, sometimes my wags collect them and sometimes they don’t. Usually doesn’t, but when they do there’s nothing I can say to change there mind. I think they are worried about there drawer coming up short or whatever. :(. Guess I need to pick my cashiers carefully.

My cashier had noted that the almay eye trios are paying the BAs $1 each…so, moneymaker plus great for the cashier.
Please help out everyone with your input- I went to my local Walgreens today & first attempted to buy the wipes & used the $2 Walgreens coupon and after it beeped, was told that the wipes do not fall under the category of cosmetics and the item had to be something else. After I picked up another item and tried to use the $2 coupon and saw it beep, the manager told me this is because the $5 RR will make the item more than free and corp. policy states an item can’t be more than free. In addition, he read how the coupon said do not combine with another offer as an additional reason why To me, that seems to be completely opposite of many items that are a moneymaker weekly w/o an issue. What would be my best course of action to take in trying to explain the situation?
I have not heared that… and plus it doesn’t make the item free… 5 RR is just an extra buck for you to come back and shop again at Walgreens, you still pay tax on the item so it shouldn’t matter… try different walgreens or different time of the day with different cashier 🙂
Try a different Walgreens. My WAG coupon beeped too. And I got eye shadow and eyeliner. I just think the coupons is coded wrong. Like maybe it’s coded only for items over $7.
Anyway, I don’t argue with managers or clerks about coupons. I just find a coupon friendly store.
It wasn’t the Walgreens coupon that beeped for me, it was the manufacturer’s. The guy said they have done that all day even though in his estimation they were valid and should not be giving anyone trouble. He pushed it on through, but I wondered if any other Walgreens stores were doing the same thing.

I’ve done this deal multiple times today. For some reason the Q’s in that book aren’t scanning and need to be reactivated according to a manager so if you’re having problems i would call corp because they supposed to work on the towelettes and remover as well. My cashier just entered them manually. On a side note the towelettes are ringing up b1g1 50% so be sure to grab 2! After the 50% off the second one is $2.09 minus the $2 Walgreens Spring Beauty Guide Coupon makes the second one just $.09! Loving Wags this week!

Hey, I have a question after looking at your receipt — you only bought one item, but still used 2 coupons?? I am “sort of” new at shopping at Walgreens, (i.e. within the last three months) but I was almost positive you always had to have two items if you have two coupons — can you explain? Thanks!
The beauty book coupon is a store coupon so it doesn’t count. I think you are thinking about RR which are actually manufacter’s coupons and you would need an item to use it. Hope this helps.
Yes, what Christie said is correct. I used a store coupon stacked with a manufacturer’s coupon, so that’s why both coupons are showing up for one item.
Really? So, if I were to use one of the in-ad coupons (the .99 Reach toothbrush, for example), I wouldn’t need a filler item?
Right, unless both coupons would make the item be in the negative in which case you would need a filler item to make up for the amount, unless your cashier would be willing to adjust the coupon up.

I am going to Walgreens tomorrow, I want to do the Reach deal (I have a couple sets of coupons, as I found a display with them in Kroger a few weeks ago) – and I was wondering, if what you said is true (about the Wags coupon not counting towards my coupon amount), can I *just* get 4 toothbrushes, use my 4 man. coupons first, then give them the store coupon? Will it price adjust all the toothbrushes, or will I need a filler item for the .04 cents it will be under?

the coupon does say it manu coupon not a store coupon, it is also show like on the receipt. will wags get reimburse? not wanting my store to get cheated.
They should. If you read the back of the coupon (or wherever the fine print is), it should say.

I’ve had no issue using the wags beauty q’s, but for me, the mq’s for almay wont work with the eye make up removers.. anyone else having these issues?
Yes, had that issue today too. They only used the beauty book Q on eye remover pads. She said MQ was only cosmetic which makes no sence because both have same pic and both say any cosmetic. I asked cashier about her bonus on sales too, she basically roled her eyes and said she didnt know or care that its diff. Every month. She ripped up my reach RR because I used the coupons and got free. Wow. Also lady’s watch out, those new scanners, wont scan a lot of Q’s. Noticed $2 not. Manager gave me the money, but got home and duh $1 didnt either. Also cream of wheat Q’s wouldn’t and won’t take till I said ask manager. I am honestly tired of being accused of double couponing on Bogo too. After 5yrs never a coupon…treated great I am dissaponted in change of treatment when I am spending more and making them more. I think I use the RR I have and switch my scripts to rite aid and be done with them. A two minute cashout ends up being 15 and I leave unhappy.
B/C I’ve had bad experiences using coupons verse spending cash full price What I do now is save my R/R week to week and only buy items given back R/R along w/ my coupons and trust me between CVS,Rite-AID,or Wal-green’s you’ll never run out of anything or miss out you’ll save money and it’s more exciting shopping elsewhere so I’m not letting them run me off only get less of my money and if cashiers in cosmetics don’t want their bonus I’ll go to another register
Thanks, that is an idea to think about. I am new to this and still afraid to try CVS, Is it really better than Wags? I never even knew about the register rewards until this site in january. I had been going in over 20yrs filling scripts and only cashing out at pharmacy without any issues and treated GREAT. I’ve been at this location over 5yrs. I cannot tell you how many RR I threw away (I, never knew what they where, I THOUGHT YOU HAD TO BUY THE SAME PRODUCT AGAIN DUH DUH…DUH!!! LOL,but there are no signs explaing or employees explaining). I am just so dissapointed in the behavior of some of the employees, I have one favorite guy and when he’s not in I want to walk right back out. He greats me “There she is, let’s see how you make out toaday” and congrats me on the saving. I have given Q’s and free deals to cosmetics girls too. I am finding that I try different locations and the treatment of I and others is crazy…I look back and think “Is this for real?”. I have called corporate over a ass. manager following me harrasing me and telling me “we don’t want use here” “your stealing out of my pocket” getting a RR is illegal and fraud which is arrestable” mind you it was the first time I ever used a coupon (3 total to be exact). I felt like I should have called the cops. Corporate was so wonderful about it and so was the head manager, he was able to see the video footage and sent me a gift card to come back. I did go back there and first great (so happy I shared 5 and told cosmetics girl how to get free), second horrible, had 6 renuzit and 3tea and took 15 minutes because cashier was scolding me…for no reason and looking at my one Q forever. I will go in to take the shaking of the hands with the manager and tell him how the two visits went, he wants me to. Sorry I have typed forever, I am just so sad that I spend at least $60/wk there now(save lots too) and some people just don’t deserve their jobs. I am always nice and I am ALWAYS apologizing even though I know it’s not me. Kindness seems to not work. I just wish they would send undercover employees in to do this and see what happens, but I think they know they would fire 1/4 of the staff. If I could work again I would love my job, with so many out of one. I am starting to love my Rite Aids now after one call a lot changed and things are great. I agree, most of the cashiers at Walgreens are super sweet, and some of the managers are great too. Ex-Walgreens in Grand Rapids MI, purchasing some of the Almond Joy piece bags that was on this blog and I had coupons BUT the cashier pulled 2 coupons out of her drawer that were Walgreens ones I didn’t even know about!!! I practically got the 2.99 bags for free. Another ex. a year ago (I ship alot off ebay) and again on this blog was a post about tape guns on sale plus coupons, so I went and they were out of the Scotch brand, but the manager no problem substituted a HUGE name brand of tape with tons more tape for the sale price without my asking!!!

Collin, I couldn’t agree more. Today my cashier actually saw that I was purchasing Almay ( I already had the spring beauty guide Q) so she found a manufacturer Q in her stash to stack. Then she pulled out the infant coupon book and offered it to me (I hadn’t been able to find these anywhere). I wish I would have known about the promo item bonus for her, because I would have purchased them. I just might have to go back.
When using the RR can you use coupons as well?
Yes, you can and it really helps lower your out of pocket. Just make sure to have a filler item as the RR counts as a coupon and you have to have an item for each coupon. So if you have a RR & a mfg. coupon then you need to add a cheap filler item to your purchase.

I am in Ohio, my sister is an hour and a half away. We have both used them. They say manufacturer’s coupon, and there is a mailing address on them.
I use my RR at Kroger all the time. No beeps or anything. Meijer takes them as well. I usually go to self checkout though to bypass the grumpy cashiers.

You can use RR on almost all purchases. I think there are a few exclusions printed on the RR.
I had a great time at Walgreen’s on my last trip. I bought $74 in merchandise, and after the rebates on the Theraflu and the Neurogen, i will end up making $5.00! 😀

When I have given cashiers freebies before, I will usually do it in a separate transaction and let them keep the receipt.
Also, they took my Beauty Booklet coupon both times…
I have given them gum before (offered them other things but they wouldn’t take them) they just wrote the transaction number on it.
I scored this this deal Sunday 3 times got back $15 in R/R but the Walgreen’s coupon didn’t scan and my Cosmectic Cashier wasn’t nice at all and told me there’s nothing she can do

I got the beauty booklet off of the cosmetic counter. But when I went to use it on the Alamay deal the register beeped. The store manager came over and said that they shouldn’t have put them out yet because they don’t start until April 1. They were nice and made it work.
The booklet came out about two weeks ago; there is no “start” date. Unfortunately, the stores only seemed to get limited quantities on this booklet.

I just ask the cashier what items they wouldn’t mind me purchasing! 😉 I’m also pretty sure the promotional items are the same across all Walgreens, so I’m guessing the Revlon lip glosses may also be a promotional item at your store… but just ask to be on the safe side.
On the Almay deal, the eye shadows give the BAs a buck a transaction.
we have lots but the revlon color burst lip gloss is the big one 3.00 for each one and buy one get one half off and 4.99 on sale alson any revlon lip is to but they a lil higher and less money back it is the same items at all stores
I was so P’od today with my Walgreens. I have noticed they have been getting less and less friendly each time I go in there and today was no exception. My favorite cashier is on maternity leave so I ended up with a dreaded coupon hag. When purchasing the eye makeup remover both the MQ beeped and the Wags Q beeped. Manager was called and a big fuss was made over whether the remover was a cosmetics item. He finally price adjusted and I received my $5RR but flat out refused to let me buy the towlettes. Said I was only going to be allowed ONE transaction per day. Well I guess I won’t be going back there again!! I will definitely be calling corporate tomorrow.
If you are going to complain about not being allowed to do multiple transactions, you need a good reason for doing them. Like you do shopping for others unable to make it to the store.
The store doesn’t have to let you do more than one transaction.
On the other hand they shouldn’t be rude to you when you ask.
Debra – I used to work at Walgreens first off, so I know what I’m talking about on this.
You are not supposed to do more than one transaction of the same deal at a time. So it’s really not their fault. I know that some people let it slide, but that’s no excuse for you to be so mad because you couldn’t do what everyone else was doing. I know my store was told specifically from corporate that people were not allowed to do more than one same transaction per day.
However, I am sorry that you had to deal with someone who is not coupon friendly. That’s never fun, and it is frustrating and I understand that. I’ve been there too, (Was just last night, as a matter of fact… but that’s a different story.) and it sucks.
You’re better off trying a different store, if you can, or going different times of the day, when another cashier is working.
Maybe people wouldn’t mind coming back the next day to do the deal except the wind might blow you get an even worse cashier than today!
If we didn’t have to fight for what is a legal transaction in the coupon world then maybe we could waste gas to drive back for the deal every day!
Going back for more another day is just asking for another fight with the uncoupon friendly cashiers!
OK, I understand and read furthur comments. Simply not ok. They cannot refuse a sale according to corporate. If a manager does that, report it. They dont want to loose a customer over a couple dollars. If the manager wanted to limit, he could have simply not given the RR…but they CANNOT refuse a sale unless you are clearing the shelf on a sale with a set limit. They told me RR are per offer and you can do a sep. Transaction if there is plenty of product. Ive also been told that if they take RR it must be ripped in front of you and silly because they loose money by being so rude about one extra, they do not get the money until you use it. I have been told it costs store everyone printed which not true. I am calling tomorrow because they rip at mine when useing coupons on product.

Every time I walk thru Walgreens doors I end up having a bad experience. Today was no different. My coupons always beep. Did the Almsy deal. Coupon beeped manager was called and he proceeded to tell me that the Beauty Guide coupon is not for the towelettes,just makeup. I explained to him that the words were the same on both coupons and Walgreens considered it a cosmetic product being that it was on sale. He put it thru after going to get a makeup product and the Walgreens coupon beeped on that one too. He wouldn’t use the WAG coupon for my second transaction.
I ALWAYS have this experience at all of our Walgreens. They do not enjoy couponers. CVS however cheers me on when I go in there. It’s such a different vibe. It doesn’t stop me though. I will go where ever the deals are! hee hee!
It’s funny, I have that issue with CVS here. My Walgreens cashiers are pretty much all helpful. I get dirty looks when I go into CVS LOL.
I think we must be shopping at the same store! If you read my post a few up from yours you will think the same thing. I just don’t understand why they get so annoyed when we get such good deals. Plan on calling corporate tomorrow because the cashier, who’s tag stated that she was a photo center specialist, also had me purchasing more items. I purchased four items and used 3 MFR Qs. She said I was using too many for transaction. She also wouldn’t adjust my coupon down for Airwick and said again that I had to buy something else. Spent more than I originally intended.
I have 3 walgreens and none of them have a cashier for the make-up counters EVER. They are just displays. Thought it was weird other stores had casheirs and registers behind there. LOL!
Just heard tonight that my favorite cosmetics cashier has been promoted to another store. She checked me out one more time for old times’ sake, but we agreed we’re going to miss each other – I boost her sales, she keeps track of the best deals and reminds me if there’s another coupon I can use. *sigh*

Had a fabulous experience at Walgreens tonight! I asked one of my favorite employees where I could find the spring beauty coupon book. I was told that they were ALL gone, but they had one behind the cosmetics counter to scan the coupons when requested. Well, it was no where to be found. I explained what I wanted out of it (the $2 off Almay coupon) and she proceeded to tell the cashier to adjust my Almay purchases down $2 each when I checked out. I expressed my appreciation and she said, “Only because it is you – I wouldn’t do it for anyone else.” I told her I felt so privileged. It really does make a difference when you are pleasant, kind and show friendship to the store employees. I’ve learned about their families and their life struggles just by taking a few minutes to chat with them when I see them. I’ve got “friends” at Rite Aid and CVS, too!

You can use manuf. coupons on items that will scan properly if clearanced but if they have to type in the price when marked down you can’t So just check the barcode if there’s a line through it it’s not going to scan if not it should just price check first at the magic red box then they can’t refuse your coupons

My “ALM M/U RMVR 25S” has a “BGLP” after the price on the receipt! So maybe it is BOGO 1/2 off here in Austin??
My WAGS does not let you use the coupon from their monthly coupon booklet and a Manufacture coupon because they tell me that coupons in the booklet are Manufacture coupons….I wish WAGS would put something about this in their policy. Because several miles away from my house another WAGS does let you combine the two. They are so flip floppy on their rules it’s so frustrating. I like that they actually HAVE a policy now…but it still needs some work!
Anytime you buy cosmetics, always check out at the cosmetic counter. The cosmetic cashier gets a bonus for any cosmetics they check out. I have a friend that works there and she told me about it. Actually, they get a bonus for anything in the first 2 aisles.
Unfortunately there is rarely a cashier at the beauty counter where I shop. 🙁
I wish I could find the 2 dollar off Almay coupon in the 3/6 SS, but it seems, like many other times, I don’t get the same coupons you do 🙁 So sad! Does this happen to anyone else on a pretty regular basis? I’m in Iowa…maybe that’s why??

Does anyone have the bar code number for the Almay coupon in the Walgreen’s book? My Walgreen’s doesn’t require the coupon, just the code.
Unfortunately this coupon book doesn’t have numbers under the coupons like most wags coupons do, just a barcode

Huh, I’m just looking at these IVC coupons from the spring beauty guide, and there’s no numbers, no address, they say “Instant Value Coupons Good at Walgreens” but then on the back say Manufacturer coupon… I’m baffled because none of it makes sense with each other. 0.o According to it being an IVC, it should be a Wags coupon. It’s really all dependent on how they come up at the register, and as they aren’t scanning at all… Well it seems like this is kind of a YMMV deal… I can see where the confusion is on both sides. =/
YES!!! I love money makers with RR!! I use them at the commissary to bring my total WAY down!!! LOVE THEM!!

I did this transaction twice today at 2 different stores. At the first store I used the manufacturer coupon first and the store coupon beeped. The cashier put it through manually. At the second store I used the store coupon first followed by the manufacturer coupon and it did not beep.
The almay makeup remover towellettes in the purple bag are on sale buy 1 get 1 1/2 off. So I think that if you buy 2 and use the wags coupon it should take off $4 dollars and so your second one would basically be free. example buy 1 4.19 second one 2.10 $2 wags beauty guide coupon should take off $4. total for both products 2.29, get back $5 rr. correct me if I’m wrong. I just wish that I would have realized this before I bought mine.
