Walgreens: Hershey's and Diapers Updates

Alright, so I am sorry to say that I have a couple not so good Walgreens updates. First, the following Hershey’s candy deal I highlighted in the Walgreens weekly deals is not accurate…

Spend $10 on Participating Hershey’s candy = $5 RR
Buy 5 Whoppers eggs 10 oz 2/$3 = $7.50
Buy 1 Hershey’s Easter candy 8-10 oz $2.50
Total = $10
Use 2 $1/3 coupons found in the 2/27 SS
Pay $8
Get back a $5 RR
Final cost only $0.50 per bag!

Please note that you will actually NOT get back a $5 Register Reward! 🙁 Instead, you will get back $5 to spend on Hershey’s products. When you are at your local Walgreens you may see an apology note by the Hershey’s products that reads something similar to this…

We Apologize. In this week’s ad we are advertising Hershey’s Easter Candy 8 to 10oz. Due to a printer’s error the Register Reward offer is incorrect. The correct offer is: Get $5 Register Rewards at checkout WYB $10+ of participating Hershey’s products – Good on you NEXT HERSHEY’S PURCHASE.

(Thanks, Wild for Wags!)

*******************************************************
And one other deal I want to mention is the Walgreens brand diapers deal scenario and rebate offer I had put together. After reading through the last few comments and receiving a couple emails from readers, it appears the rebate form is not printing at checkout. Some readers have purchased more than $25 worth of Walgreens brand diapers (after coupons) and I’ve also had other readers purchase $25 worth of Walgreens brand diapers (before coupons) – either way it appears that the rebate form is not printing. I am not sure when they will get this issue resolved, but I just wanted to give you all a heads up. And if it does print for you, please share what you purchased. Thanks!

You can still score cheap diapers this week (even without the rebate)…

Walgreens premium jumbo pack diapers on sale for $5.99
Use the $2/1 Walgreens diapers coupon found in the Infant Care coupon booklet
Final cost only $3.99!

Yes, you can use a manufacture”s coupon and an in store coupon on each item purchased.

  2. Andrea

I went and did the buy $10 get $5 in RR’s today…. WHAT A LET DOWN!!!! IT WAS NOT A RR, IT IS A COUPON FOR $5 OFF HERSEY’S PRODUCTS! Of course I went early and didn’t see this till now, but at least I got easter stuff and some more for free with the coupon!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Will you still get the $5 if you use the $3.00 Hershey reward?
      and
      Does the $5 Hershey roll?

      • maureen

I used $3 hersheys rr from several weeks ago and the $5rr printed. Yeah

    • Molly

I talked to the assistant manager at my Walgreens after I bought the candy and she zeroed out two of my bags and gave me $5 and some change back.

  3. renee

I went to wags and the debate form printed for me. It was before coupons andafter she scanned the 2.00 from baby book…and paid..t worked!!! Yahoo
    I am in utah

    • renee

      *Rebat not debate

    • me

Which one did you go to in Utah? What items did you buy specifically? I’m in the Orem area and want to know if the 4 diapers + wags refill on wipes work ($2.50 ones)

      Thanks!

    • K Crew

I went to Orem, UT and I bought 5 packs of diapers of various sizes and it printed for me. The 38 ct wipes are only $1.49, the 78 count were $2.49. They have the Infant Care coupon at the register, just ask. Also, there are signs right under the products that qualify. The wipes should work just fine…I looked at buying them but decided it was better for me to get all diapers since the coupon is only good for diapers.

  4. Stefanie

    Collin-
Went to do the diaper deal today. Bought 4 packs of diapers and one package of wipes, and the form did not print. If you look at the April coupon booklet, the wipes are not pictured. The employee’s said this is why it didn’t print.

SOOOO, I returned everything and bought 5 packages of diapers and the form printed from the Catalina machine. I also did in fact use the Infant care book, so we know that it is in fact printing even though I only spent $21’ish (sorry, receipt is already in the rebate envelope). Ironically, the rebate form clearly states that wipes are included. So I really don’t know what the deal with it printing is?

Ultimately I got 5 packs of Wags diapers for $1.99/ea after Infant Care Book coupons and Rebate. Not bad in my book!

    • Heather

Thank you for posting this. I’ve been trying to figure it out before I go to WAGS and it was seeming like the wipes weren’t included, but people were not being very clear what they were buying and if it was before or after coupons. Thank you for being specific!!!

    • jmbrown4681

Do you just use one infant care book coupon or do you need one for each product??

      • Stefanie

You only need one Infant Care coupon/book. It’ll deduct as many as you buy. I’ve purchased probably 12 packs of the diapers over the past month or so, and just had the same one coupon booklet.

    • Josie

I did the exact same thing. The rebate did not print when I tried to buy 4 pks of diapers and wipes, so I had to return all of that and then buy 5 diapers and the rebate printed out just fine. I used the Wags coupon, also, so still a great deal!

  5. Maria G

Same here, my grandkids are coming to visit for the week so I jumped on the candy deal. Did not realize till now that it is not a regular RR. Oh well, I am sure we can come up with some Hershey candy to buy. I do think they could at least have given it a later date. we still have to use it by April 10.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went to WAGS this morning and purchased 4 packs of W diapers and one refill pack of wipes. Used the Infant Care coupon and the rebate form printed.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Also want to note that I got the 4 diapers and the big 234ct pack of wipes. It was $28.95 total, I got $8 off with the coupon, paid $20.95 OOP, total will be $10.95 after rebate. My WAGS had signs by each item that was eligible for the rebate and the only wipes with the sign were the big packs, so I got those instead of the smaller pack Collin listed in the original deal. Maybe this is why some are having issues?

  7. Tiffany

I rec’d the wags rebate today for purchasing the diapers and wipes. I purchased 4 packs of the 5.99 diapers and 1 pack of the premium wags baby wipes 78 ct. unscented senstive with aloe (not in the tub but in the green plastic)… these were priced 2.99 at my store and they were not marked on the shelf that they were in included in the rebate like the diapers and larger ct wipe refills were… This was at around 9:00 AM EST that I rec’d mine…

  8. Coupon Princess

I can’t make it to Wags today to try but this could still be a good deal if:

We bought one transaction of the Hershey’s Deal and then was able to

buy say 7 Whoppers in the second transaction for $10.50
    use (2) $1/3 and (1) $5 OYNO Of Hersheys and pay $3.50

Better yet if it rolled 🙂

Has anyone tried to roll it yet or use the $5 off on a second transaction?

  9. gwen

You can also stack the Wags diaper Q’s with the peelies found on the wipes for an extra $2/ each one and only pay for the wipes and .99 cents for the diapers. I found peelies on the cases of Wag’s brand wipes.

  10. Leslie Null

Just came back from Walgreens and did not get $5 RR for Duracell batteries or $4 for Garnier! Anybody else not got theirs either?

  11. Nicolle

I had a rain check for when the diapers were on BOGO so I used that rain check this week. I did:
    2/$2.50 Wipes = $5.00
    10 Jumbo Diapers @ $5.99 = $60
    -BOGO Sale = $30
    -$4 Wags Wipes Peelies
    -$20.00 from Infant Care Book
    =$11.37 Total with tax
    Paid $10 with Almay RR
Paid $1.37 OOP (tax and left over)
The rebate printed fine for me. I hope this makes sense:) I did this around 9.30 CST.

    • RH

does the rebate say 1 per household???

      • Nicolle

        Yes, one per household

  12. Julie

my wags wouldn’t let me have the sale price and the bogo raincheck from last week so I put away 2 of the 6 packs I originally needed. Then the cashier didn’t ring them up indiviually at $8.99 so my 4 packs would be over the $25 mark for the rebate, instead she rang them indivually at $4.49 and $4.50 so I this deal was a disaster for for me because it was under the $25 rebate price. Grr. One more reason I dislike Walgreens…

  13. Monica

Leslie Null – I am in Indiana and I bought the Colgate toothpate, Edge shave gel, and Hershey candy and no RRs printed for me this morning either. I just did one transaction.

    • Lisa

Call the number on the back of your receipt. Walgreens is REALLY good about getting you RR that didn’t print. I just did that last week for the Garnier mess.

  14. Kelli

If anyone has the infant care coupon codes can you email them to me. kesims09(at)yahoo(dot)com Thanks!

    • Lisa

I think it was just a coupon for use in-store, not a code?

      • PG

All Walgreens IVCs have numbers on them that can be entered into the register instead of scanning the coupon. Some stores will hand ring these and others insist on a hard copy of the coupon. 🙂

  15. Jessica Y

My store had a problem taking the infant care coupon and even without it no rebate

  16. Charlene

I always seem to have issues at walgreens, and the local manager is very rude when you need ant help.

  17. Katie

Irritated! I would have never done the candy deal if I had known this before I went…

  18. Jessica

I went this morning and bought 5 packs of Wags Brand Sleep Pants and the rebate did not print, they were not pictured but the manager said for me to try it and if it did not print she would give me a $10 gift card, which she did. They also did not let me use the $2 diaper coupon on the sleep pants and they have every other time I have gone in.

  19. Bev

Does anyone have any 10 off or 20% codes for amazon.com that they are not going to use? My email is rlcb888@gmail.com. Love to get some diapers for my nephew. Thank you so much!

  20. Lisa

I was able to purchase 5 packages of diapers and got the rebate to print.

    • jess

      Did you use any coupons???

I bought 5 packs, but the coupon wouldn’t work so they price modified it for 2 dollars off each pack, so the coupon didn’t print. I asked about it and the manager ended up printing me one out and said I could send it in but she didn’t know if it would work.

      Any thought?????????????????????????????????

  21. Marcia

These are suppose to be good until 12/31/2011… I have used these codes and they have worked 🙂 These are the items out of the infant care booklet

    Here are all the codes:

    * $2/1 Enfamil Infant Powder (22.2 oz. or larger) 5516
    * $2/1 Similiac Advance or Sensitive (23.2 oz.) 5517
    * $2/2 Playtex infant products 5518
    * $2/1 Huggies Diapers Big Pack or Wipes (184 or 216 ct.) 5519
    * $2/1 Children’s or Infants Advil Suspension (.5 oz or 4 oz.) 5520
    * $2 off 1 Pampers cruisers, Swaddlers, or Swaddlers sensitive Diapers big packs or jumbo packs 5521
    * $2/1 Triple Paste Medicated Ointment for Diaper Rash (2 oz. or larger) 5522
    * $2/1 W brand Diapers Jumbo pack 2844

  22. Love Coupons

Hey! Does anyone have a 20% code they are not using? It can be expired! I am in need of one if someone has a extra. Sorry for asking. My email is taylorc213@gmail.com. Thank you!

  23. Shannon

Well I guess I lucked out that my RR would not print at all for the Hershey candy. The manager tried a few times and it would not work so he just gave me a $5 RR out of the register. Of course that was about 10 this morning and I am just seeing this now at 9:30,

  24. cathy

If your Walgreens isn’t coupons freely during the day and if it’s a 24 hr store try it at night.

The 24 hour Walgreens by me isn’t coupon friendly, so normally I don’t go there. Well, tonight a stopped by at 9pm, hubby forgot to pick up his blood presure meds.
I decided to do a little coupon shopping and what a difference. The nice young man at the count saw my coupon book and asked very politely. “How many transactions?” I told he only one. Then he pointed at the two .29 eggs and said, “Do you really want them or are you using them as fillers for your RR. You don’t need fillers. I’ll just force your RR.”
I gave him a shock look and he smiled and replied, “Night shift rules are different.”

  25. stephanie

There is a better deal next week at Wags. The $10 rebate is advertised in next weeks ad. They end up being 2.50 each after rebate so I would hold off people.

    • Samantha Booker

If you are able to buy 5 packs of diapers – the $2 Infant care coupon ($10) – the $10 rebate, that works out to 1.99 pack. Am I missing something?

      • Stephanie

I’m going by the fact that they are $7 next week and you would need 4 pks to get to the $25…it takes you to $28 – 8 =$20-$10=$10 /4=$2.50 each. In my opinion that is too much for diapers. I haven’t paid for diapers in 3 years. I watch for really good sales that have instore coupons with mfg coupons and then use my store rewards to pay the difference. Can’t do that with this deal bc I’m sure the rebate is one per household.

      • Stephanie

I was also going by the fact that everyone was saying it wasn’t printing….I looked ahead in the ads and seen it advertised.

      • Stephanie

Since the rebate wasn’t printing it would have cost $3.99 per pk…with the rebate printing it s $1.99 pk like you said, but I put that on here when it wasn’t printing and since I didn’t see it until next weeks ad I thought maybe it got posted too early.

  26. K.C.

My Wags had a display with diapers, wipes, soap and other W brand products labeled with the $10 rebate sign. I bought 4 diapers and a soap for 25.95, when the rebate didn’t print the manager gave me a rebate form. On the form was an apology because their registers weren’t programmed to print the rebate yet.

  27. Lisa

whenever you’re buying the walgreens wipes, look at the tub-box ones, there’s pealies for an additional $2 off walgreen diapers/training pants, and for some reason it says it’s manufacture, and it can be stacked with the infant care booklet walgreens diapers/training pants coupon!

  28. Anna

I tried and it didnt worked for me either….
    this is what i did
    i bought…
    4 diapers for 5.99
    1 pack of wipes 78ct for 2.99
    = 26.95
    -$8 dollars from infant booklet
    -$2 peelin coupon from wipes
-$5 RR from my alway deal ( i also bought gum for .50 cents as filler for my RR..not sure if i even need it)

  29. Erin

I am surprised after last week that all of you aren’t having trouble with that $2 infant care coupon! Last week when we had the B1G1 and stack w/the $2 infant care coupon the first time I went in, early in the week, no prob. bought 4 got $8 taken off, blah blah blah… The next time I went in, end of the week and the cashier, my fav. BTW uber coupon friendly!, said they received an email from Prevention & Loss folks saying they could only use that coupon 1x so they were required to ring in 1 diaper then the coupon and that was it… so I’m pressuming here that their coupon protocol w/the coupon books, or maybe even their system? may change how they accept these coupons!!! IDK, maybe y’all will have no problems? But on a side note, maybe just something to keep back there and look out for! Good luck couponing! 🙂

Are Walgreens brand diapers pretty good? I like Babies R us brand, Sam’s Club generics, etc. Do these things leak? Thanks!

    • vmm

I was using mostly huggies before so not the ones you’ve mentioned but we really like them. Their tabs stretch more than huggies(more like pampers/luvs do) yet they absorb more like huggies(ie: don’t get so huge and puffy like pampers/luvs do)

so far, no leaks. we like them. my daughter was only leaking at night with huggies and overnight diapers though. we were using the diaper booster pads from babies r us(like diaper doublers) inside the overnights to avoid the mess but the boosters work great with the inexpensive walgreens diapers too & so much nicer than overnight diaper prices!

      • Dianne W.

What are the diaper boosters? Can you send me a link to them? I’d like to know more about them. My email is wood dot online at verizon dot net. Please mention Hip2Save diaper boosters in the subject line so that I will recognize that the message is not spam. Thanks!

        • vmm

i’ll email this too like you asked but in case others are wondering about DIAPER BOOSTER PADS…

the booster pads are actually like a maxipad only without the plastic backing (or sticky part) you just lay them inside the diaper before you finish putting it on the kid.they never seem to shift of fold or anything once they’re in there either which i wondered about at first. they soak up most of the moisture but then allow the excess to continue thru the pad and into the diaper.

this is a link to the giant box of the brand we get.
i’ve gotten 30 or 40 packs for $3.50 normally or 2 for $5 on sale at babies r us.

      • cara

Thanks for that info. I’m gonna try out this deal then! I’m so pumped to get some cheap diapers!! (It’s like cheap diapers or cheap cheese makes me happy! lol!!) I had never heard of the diaper boosters so I’ll keep them in mind if we need them in the future. Again, thank you for that info.

    • Lucinda

I have had pretty good success with Walgreens diapers until recently. I noticed that once my son gets to the midpoint of the weight specs for the diaper, it stops working well.

That being said, he has leaked out of every single diaper in this last pack. I might be done with Walgreens diapers after this week because I am definitely not saving money on the laundry. Gross.

    • Mom of 3

Hi Cara! I actually am really pleased with the W brand diapers. They are soft, cloth-like with stretchy tabs…not plastic-ish at all. My son (2) wears them overnight too and has done great! He’s my third, so I’ve been through lots of diaper experiences and brands. I would give them a try, especially at this price!

      • cara

Okay, I’m sold! They sound like they’re worth a try and I’m gonna go this week! I’ve never followed Walgreen’s brand diaper prices. Is this about as cheap as they get? This might be my cheapest diaper trip yet! Thanks you guys for your tips!

        • vmm

I think they were a few cents cheaper a couple months ago(i dont’ remember for sure but considering the stash i have from then, they must have been cheap:)
but for $1.99 you can’t go wrong really. and if you decide you don’t like them, use them AS the booster pads we talked about earlier. i’ve only done this once in a pinch but it worked great. i cut the middle section out of the diaper(ie: tabs off and really anything outside the leg elastic off) and layed it inside another diaper for a good overnight diaper…worked great. (but that was a super nasty cheapo diaper from the grocery store so useless otherwise)

          • cara

I went this week and got 10 packs of diapers (the cashier just laughed at me and I told her no one was getting potty trained at my house! lol!) and so far…no leaks! Yeah! Thank you so much for your tips! You’re awesome! I even tried the Walgreens comfort baby wipes as I had read they were really nice. They seem like the huggies brand ones in case you haven’t tried them and we love the huggies natural care. Thanks again!

            • vm

              you’re totally welcome:)
              glad to help.

  31. Jessica S.

Where is the Walgreens diaper rebate mentioned? I’ve looked in the flier and I don’t see it. I need to have proof so if I don’t get the rebate form at checkout I can show them that I’m supposed to get it. Thanks for any help!!!

    • Mom of 3

Hi Jessica! It’s actually a page shown in the April coupon booklet, which just went active yesterday. It is for $10 after purchasing at least $25 of participating W brand products…key word: participating. The rebate form itself is supposed to print at the checkout after your purchase. I don’t know if the rebate is only for those items/categories pictured in the booklet or not. My store was such a mess today with lots of staff on ladders, fixing things, moving things, cleaning things, so many items were not tagged properly. HTH somewhat!

      • Jessica S.

        Thank you!!

    • Samantha Booker

Mom of 3: My local Walgreens stores are overhauling as well. I understand, but it sure does make it a challenge when they are working new shelving and displays, flooring and even blocking off 2 or 3 aisles completely. An associate had to go get something for me the other day because they had the “crime scene tape” up. lol

  32. Mom of 3

sorry if this was posted already, but the Walgreen’s training pants (ie. pull ups) do NOT work with the rebate. I tried this morning. The manager even tried it for me and no go, just the regular diapers.

  33. erin

deal posted at wags in peru,il. starting 3/27 buy 2 curel, jergens, or biore products get $5 back. 34. Anna

    I got IT!!!!!!!
Yesterday i posted that i bought 4 packs of diapers and 1 pack of wipes and rebate form DIDNT pring for me ….so i endup returning everthing..
so today i went different Walgreens and tried it again…..SO THIS TIME I GOT 5 diapers!! …..dont bother with wipes it most likely not print for you..Just get 5 packs of diapers
    so i bought
    5 PACKS OF DIAPERS $5.99
    used infant care coupons -$10
    used -$5 RR
and used -$2 dollars peeling coupon from wipes that i had( but i didnt buy any wipes this time– they will still scan it for you)

    so i payed 14.70 OOP
and REBATE FORM PRINTED for $10 =))))) so for me its like around 98 cents per pack!!!!! SWEET!!

  35. jess

I bought 5 packs, but the coupon wouldn’t work so they price modified it for 2 dollars off each pack, so the coupon didn’t print. I asked about it and the manager ended up printing me one out and said I could send it in but she didn’t know if it would work.

Should I return the diapers and try again or send the rebate????

    • Anna

Jess there is a phone number on rebate form you can call and double check but it should work, the number is 855-417-4256
