Wouldn’t you love to find a one-stop shop for the tangled mess that is growing kids + limited trade options + I want to spend less money on clothes?! If so, then you’ll definitely want to take note of The Baby Clothing Network (BCN). BCN is an online trading community where moms/dads connect to exchange kids clothes. Simply pick a box of clothing when you need it (view available bundles here based on sizes newborn to 5T and gender) and/or ship a box of clothes when you don’t. BCN determines how much your too-small baby/kids clothes are worth and gives you equal or better value back in an online swap. It’s easy, fun, and completely free to join!

BCN Tags are the website currency of Baby Clothing Network. When you have a BCN Tag, you can purchase a bundle provided your tag level meets the price of the bundle you are requesting. You can earn BCN Tags in a variety of ways but primarily by trading your own bundles. For example, if you trade a bundle that is worth $58, you’ll earn the $51-$75 tag. You can exchange the $51-$75 tag on any bundle in that category (or any lower category). Your BCN profile will automatically keep your tag balance; you can save BCN Tags or spend them whenever you’d like.

Here’s the best part…BCN is offering all Hip2Save readers a FREE BCN tag with a value of $75-$100! Simply head over here to register and use the referral code H2S. Your BCN profile will automatically reflect your tag balance of $75-$100 once you complete the registration so you can immediately go shopping! How cool is that?! Please note that the buyer is always required to pay shipping and transaction costs which are a flat-rate of $18.

And BCN is not done with their generosity…

Thanks to BabyClothing.net, 5 lucky Hip2Save readers will each win a $50 gift card to Target.com.

I would so do this if my daughter was in the size range. Unfortunately she is not. But it is a fantastic idea nonetheless.

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Would love to win!! I know lot’s of people having Babies, This would be great!!!

  3. Brittney

    Awesome! I got a 76-100 credit!!! 😀

  4. Ann

I got the credit, but there aren’t too many choices for bundles right now. Hopefully all the Hip2Save readers will send in some bundles to choose from.

  5. jill

I agree that the bundle choices were quite limited for the sizes that my three boys wear. The couple of bundles there were for them weren’t worth the shipping price, especially since garage sale season is starting up around here! The credit is quite generous, however! Thank you!

  6. Brianne

Unfortunately there are no bundles left in any size for now 🙁

    • Anikka

There are bundles – you have to pick a gender though

  7. Ashley

Hope this is ok to post this but I have some enfamil checks, some of which expire at the end of the month and some in june. THey are worth $26 I believe. Was hoping to find someone that would trade me either similac checks or coupons. I would like to do this so that us hip2save readers can help each other out. Please email me harnish1102@yahoo(dot)com

So the $76 credit pays for the $3.50 (cost of box), but then you pay $18 for shipping? am I understanding this correctly?

    • Gabrielle

Oh nevermind, I don’t think it pays for anything it just allows you to shop. ok….

  9. Ashley

It seems like the credit isn’t actually credit to use. You still pay $3.50 for box and $14.50 for shipping coming to $18.00. The box I was thinking about only had 5 items in size 3/6 months. No way can I afford that. What happens if you sell a box though, then do you get credit to spend?

    • Gabrielle

The way I think it works is that when you sell a box you don’t get credit to spend, you get credit to buy another box which you then pay for the cost of shipping. like if I purchase a box that is worth $35, I get a “credit” of $35 to buy and pay for another box that is worth $35. If this is how it works, then I’m out. Sorry, BCN.

    Is this like ThredUp?

  11. codysmommy

No clothes in my little guy’s size either. 🙁 Will have to check back!

Here are some answers to commonly asked questions by BCN

What is the $75-$100 Tag? Easiest thing is to think of it as a voucher. You can redeem it for a box of clothing valued up to $100. If you find a box of clothing you like for less, you get to keep the remaining balance.

Why $25 increments? It’s our twist on providing something needed in baby clothes swapping – having confidence you’re getting a fair trade. With the BCN Tag system if a mom has $60 worth of clothes she’ll get a $50-$75 BCN Tag. At the least a mom can get her money’s worth. Most likely she will be able to do a little better.

What are the shipping + transaction fees? BCN uses the largest flat rate box (so we can build big boxes of clothes). The shipping costs break down to $14.50 (USPS) + $3.50 (BCN) = $18.

Do BCN Tags cover shipping costs? No, they cover the value of the items of the goods in the box. Just a note: BCN is currently looking into providing more shipping options (such as small, and medium boxes).

If I pay for shipping am I still getting a good deal? Yes, absolutely. The out of pocket costs ($18) per item of clothes you request should be anywhere from $.5 to $2.00 per item. In most cities this is better than garage sales, thrift stores, consignment and more.

    • Ann

Can you also explain how we build boxes? I would love to do some spring cleaning and build a box. Does it cost anything to list a bundle? Do I have to take individual pictures of everything I bundle? How do I determine value? How do I get the box to ship – do I just use USPS flat rate box. Thanks for the info.

      • Baby Clothing Network

There’s no cost to list or to ship your bundle. Even the boxes are provided free (at your local US Post Office).

You don’t have to take individual pictures but you can. If it’s easier you can just take a picture of everything your boxing up. Lay it out on your bed or on the floor.

The values are determined by our users and adjust with the voting scale you see when viewing bundles. They move when a trend is identified by the community.

Building boxes is easy just click on the Build A Bundle link in the Trading Center and go through two steps 1. Describe sizes and # of items 2. List the brands and articles.

        Thanks!
