keep meaning to try this (and probably should before the temps get any warmer!). should be great both for cooking and soap-making 🙂 Thanks for posting, Collin!

  2. Ashley

We melt a little coconut oil in a pan on the stove to pop our popcorn kernels! So yummy and we’re just about out, too! Thanks for the Amazon deal!! 🙂

Besides cooking with it,I make my own deodorant with it that works better than any deodorant I’ve ever used before.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Me too! I really like my homemade deoderant. I was hoping to catch this deal because I use coconut oil for my homemade soap also but I missed it=(

  5. Ree

though we haven’t used this brand… coconut oil is wonderful for cloth diapering. have not had a diaper rash since starting to use it… and it smells great! Great deal!

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This is an exceptional price on a great product! I ordered this oil the last time you posted this deal, and I LOVE it! As a price reference, it would cost slightly more per oz. to order a gallon of this same oil through Azure (a national health food coop). This is truly a good price.

To get the health benefits from coconut oil, it really does need to be exactly what this product offers: extra virgin, organic, and cold-pressed. You can use this oil in almost any baking/cooking project in place of butter. It can also be used instead of butter spreads for bread, etc.

You can also use this oil as a natural skin moisturizer. It’s light coconut scent is really quite refreshing. There are many benefits to coconut oil (it’s a GOOD saturated fat, btw), including the fact that it is a metabolism booster! (Our family doctor drinks a shot glass of coconut oil every morning)!

Thanks again for posting this deal! Affordable organics are definitely a “hip” way to nourish our families!

I use ours as a substitute in quick bread recipes that call for shortening. Does anyone know if this particular brand comes in glass or plastic jars? (I’m a bit of a freak about fats packaged in plastics.) 😀

    • Renny

      Comes in plastic containers.

    • Amber

I ordered this the last time it came up and the jars are plastic.

    • Mo

      Thanks ladies!

  8. Stephanie

It’s plastic. I was going to order too but changed my mind. I’ll wait for a glass jar.

Thanks Colin for all the great deals. I think I’m obsessed with Hip 2 Save, I check it like every half hour! 🙂

  9. Cina

awesome deal! I love coconut oil! I use it for cooking, my hair, skin, and oil pulling.

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

thanks Collin! Just ordered a couple of these 2 packs! great price!

  11. Carla M

I think you can use it as any sub for butter or shortening. I use it as a moisutrizer for my daughter’s eczema and as an oil treatment for my hair. This deal is perfect because the other jar can be for food.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Does it work well for treating eczema?

      • Priscilla

coconut oil is good for the skin, especially put on ASAP after a warm bath (path skin, do not rub & leave the skin a little moist). Please check out heavenly homemaker blog for things she did to help her son’s eczema

OT – did anyone get their free coffee samples – I did Saturday – Lots of little samples of coffee but I didn’t get what I wanted – I ordered decaf but receive house blend. I will give to my mom – just wondering if anyone else got what they ordered or not?

  13. Lydia

Thanks so much Collin!! I just ran out of coconut oil this past weekend!! I’ve been making ALOT of your coconut popcorn recipe!! My whole family loves it!! I used 2 amazon giftcards that I got through swagbucks, so I am only paying $1.66 oop to have this shipped to my door!! Yay!! 😀

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Love this stuff! Great as a skin moisterizer mixed with shea butter. Also, works nicely in hair.

Just went to $22.95. When I CAN get it to go to $13.72, it won’t let me click on the Subscribe & Save. Will keep trying. LOVE this stuff!

  16. Joy

  17. Kaitlin

    • Alicia

Same for me…not showing the awesome deal???? I wonder why????

    • Julie

Elizabeth, those look awesome! I just bought 15 pounds of various varieties of dry coconut (large family, but still, we are a bit in love with coconut 🙂 ), so I will be trying these for sure! And I was given a dehydrator, so i will try the dehydrated version!

  19. Amber

You have NOT HAD BROWNIES until you make them with coconut oil. Wow.

    • Maribeth

      do you have a recipe?!

  20. Rhonda A.

  25. TXWife

I am almost out of this oil and was going to place an order on Amazon today….but it looks like the price is back up. I’m sure they’ll have this deal back up again. 😉

  26. Lydia

Boo, my order got cancelled as well…I used amazon giftcards through swagbucks…wonder where those are going. I was so excited about this deal too! Oh, well I guess I will try again next time.

  27. Mimi

    Mine was cancelled too.

  28. Stacy

Mine cancelled, too…soooo sad! I’ve been wanting to try this product so bad!

  29. Ann

My order was cancelled also – I complained through live chat and got $5 credit added to my account for inconvenience. I would have rather had my order honored. But $5 is better than nothing.

I’ve had this on Subscribe & Save for a half a year now at the good price and just last week they cancelled my subscription saying that it was no longer available from the seller. I found out on here last time this deal posted that I can get a different brand at the Commissary (in a glass jar) for a little less $$, so I guess it’s not a big deal but it was nice just having it delivered to my door. I love to slather it on my twins after they get out of the bath!

  32. helen

I just bought 2 jars of coconut oil (29oz each), free shipping, $10 off order off order $29.97 with code (FB11FAN-1Z) for a grand total of $33.98 on nutiva.com !!
