This is an awesome deal! I got a pair of Jones New York glasses to have as a second pair and I love them so much they are my main pair! Basically the frames are free, but I only spend $40 for the extra scratch and UV protection and thinner lenses, usually cost $300 at the doctor’s office.

* Certain frames are NOT eligible for the promotion. If you see a “Coupons not applicable” message on a pair of frames, then it is excluded from the promotion.
* You will need a copy of your current eyeglasses prescription (it’s different from your contact lens prescription) and your PD measurement. Sometimes your PD will be on your prescription, but if not, watch this instructional video on how to measure it.
* After you have chosen your frames and selected your shipping method, you’ll go to a “Order Review & Payment” page, where you can enter and apply your coupon code. After applying your code, you will see your order total before you choose to check out (remember that you will have to pay shipping/handling charges of $10-$15)
* If you would prefer to order a pair of prescription sunglasses, you can use the coupon code and then you can add a tint to your lenses and simply pay for the cost of the tinting, which is about $30.
* Your free pair of glasses will include the standard 1.5 index lenses, which accommodates up to a -8.00. However, if your prescription is over a + or -2.00, you may want to upgrade to a thinner, lighter lens. If you choose to upgrade your lenses, or have selected progressives, Transitions or a tint, you will see the cost of the upgrade in your order total.

I checked your website this morning and saw this promo. I was able to head over and pick out some frames before EVERYONE got there and jammed the website. AND, had an eye dr appt a couple weeks ago and got a printed prescription for glasses and contacts for the next time a great promo like this came along.

Just ordered mine! Does anyone know if they confirm the prescriptions? I thought they would but there was no place in there to put info for my eye dr
only certain states require that they confirm an Rx for glasses.
I just ordered a pair! I felt a little apprehensive about it without getting to try them on, but it looks like they have a good return/exchange policy so I figured what’s the harm. I’m sorry but I don’t think that the glasses are such a great a deal. The shipping is probably 3-4 times actual shipping and the insurance has been inflated the same amount. We ship a lot for our business and most large businesses get big discounts from shippers. They are probably paying about $3 to $4 max for shipping and their insurance probably costs them about $.50. I have no problem with a company marking up shipping costs, but I get a little leery when I see those charges grossly inflated because it usually means the company is making their money “on the back end”.
They are selling frames that are discontinued that they ger got for pennies on the dollar. There are other online companies that also sell inexpensive Rx glasses created from discontinued frames for about what Coastalcontacts is making in profit just from their shipping alone. You may want to do an online search for “inexpensive eyeglasses” and compare the end total before ordering from Coastal Contacts.
I have to disagree. This is an awesome deal! I always pay well over a hundred for frames alone, not to mention lenses. I already received mine from the last offer in just a few business days shipped fedex and they are perfect! I picked out a pair of bebe frames. I couldn’t be happier! I paid $18 dollars and some change.
I would have to disagree. I ordered last time and got NEW frames. The same frames I got were at the eye doctors for $250 and after doing my research they are the manufacturers new frames. I paid extra for thinner lenses that would have cost me an additional $57 at the doctor’s office. but cost me less than half that price. I am willing to pay $16 for shipping and insurance for the product I received. The last pair of glasses I purchased cost me over $500 just for the frames. I worked for an eyeglass company for years and this is a good deal.
I, too, have to disagree. The last time I bought glasses, it cost me almost $400. I ordered a pair of Lucky frames that were exactly what I was looking for, and it doesn’t matter to me whether or not they are discontinued, and I only paid $16 for them. I don’t care if the shipping is inflated, $16 is an unbelievable price to pay for a pair of glasses!
Wow! This worked out great! A few months ago my dogs got a hold of my glasses. I didn’t wear them often but I needed them at night when I was driving and to watch movies. I had to re-new my license and I got a restriction on there because I couldn’t pass the eye test without my glasses. I didn’t have any money to get new glasses so I just settled for my glasses that sat a skew on my nose and squinted through all the scratches. Thank you for posting this awesome deal! I was able to get a $88 pair of glasses for free and only paid $9.95 for shipping.
