WARNING: It seems that as of today (May 5th) this deal may no longer be working. 🙁

Wowza! If you are wanting to stock up on batteries, then you need to jump in your car or hop on your bike and head over to your local Rite Aid. Reader, Maura from Everett, WA, emailed me about the fact that she was able to snag the Duracell Coppertop AA and AAA batteries 10 packs for ONLY $2.24 each (without coupons!)!! Keep in mind that these 10 packs are NOT marked at the sale price (they actually appear to be priced at $8.99,  so I strongly and I mean strongly encourage you to ask for a price check.

As soon as I received this email from Maura, I sent my sister in Boise out on a shopping mission and she was able to confirm that these 10 packs were also ringing up at her Rite Aid in Boise, ID for ONLY $2.24! Even better, she discovered $1/1 Rite Aid peelie coupons on several of the battery packs (pictured above), so paired with the $1/1 coupon from the P&G Everday Savings Book, she only spent $0.24 for a 10 pack of batteries! Yep – $0.24!

Run to Rite Aid!! 😀

…And let us know if you are able to snatch up this *HOT* battery deal!

(Thanks, Maura!)

Yesterday at the commissary, they were on sale for $1.99!! I had a coupon for $1 off, let’s just say, I am stocked up on batteries for awhile!!!

    • mel

thanks for posting this tip! I went to the comm today and they were 1.96! Such a good price and it’s funny b/c the 12 packs were like almost $5.

  2. melony

I got the 20 pack today!! It had the $20 in P&G coupons in it that has $1 duracell!!!! so only $1.24 on the next one:)

    • Erin

The 20-pack was also $2.24? How strange!

      • Laura

I think she’s saying she bought a pack (regular price) that had a coupon for duracell soooo her next pack will be $1.24

        • melony

The 20 pack was $3.24 but I also got a $1 up with it.. So that made it like $2.24 and next time I will have the $1 coupon so it will be like $1.24 after up reward and coupon:)

  3. Ashley

I just got back from RA and am bummed i missed this. Can’t drive 4 kids back 30 mins just to check.

    • Keisa

I know what you mean! I have three kiddos and just sent my husband to work in the van because I “didn’t need it tonight.” AHHHH!!!

    • momwhocares

Same here – don’t plan on loading up 3 kids to get there just to see them gone. Funny thing is the ones of us with a lot of kids need these the most and there will be people with one or no kids buying them all up at once. I miss those days when I only had my older child. Now with 2 more a 1 and 2 yr old, man coupon shopping is so hard with the little ones. But, hey – I bet there are days I am able to get things the other people miss out on 🙂 So, it works out in the end 🙂 .

      • Suszy

There was a full display when I went there. I only took 2 packs of each and I had to take my 8 year old. I cannot imagine having to take more with me because he was all over the place, trying to play with the machine that you upload your pictures on, playing with the pen on the credit card machine… I left sweating bullets from the anxiety but.. I did get 4 packs!

  4. Nicki

Too bad there aren’t any Rite Aides in MN

    • Kathy

      I second that!

    • Lysandra

Same here! No RA in TX =(

  5. Andrea

Ok, people, don’t take all the batteries, I can’t get to RA until tomorrow so please leave some for me, ha,ha,ha !!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      🙂

    • Molly

LOL! Yes, leave me some too!

  6. Jessica

Darn we just moved to NV for 3 months and there are no rite aids, wish I was back home in Oregon. We use batteries like crazy.

  7. Heather

I’m stuck at home w/ 2 sick kids and the hubby is working late! I just made a 911 call to my MIL and sent her out. Between toddler toys and my camera, I think we go thru a 10pk of AA batteries a week!!

  9. faith

I was so happy. Called my mom and she was on her way in Rite Aid. OMG I am so happy.

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  12. mrslauriemclean

Just left Rite Aid where I used my free Breathe Right Strips coupon! Gah! Hope the hubs gets home soon so I can run back out. lol

  13. GNMiller05

Thank you so much. I’m not usually a Rite Aid shopper, but went for the batteries. Only had 1/$1 coupon, but at $2.24 it’s still a great deal!!

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

No RiteAid in Western Montana!! 🙁

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Mine say they expired from the P&G on 4/30 were there more in a different one? Help Me PLEASE!!!!!!

    • Jennifer

in the book you had to request from the P&G website, the everyday savings booklet they had three duracell coupons, the last one expires 6/30/11 and is still good

  16. jsturtle7

No RIteAids in South Dakota either – Bummer!!

  17. Yvonne

Does anyone know if its that price in Southern California?

    • Marie

Yes, we were successful in getting them for $2.24 here. 🙂

      • Marie

…but sadly, the coupons were all missing from the packages.

        • melissa

only the 20-pks have the coupon booklet (and they are specially marked on the front), not the 10-pks.

    • Rachel

Just got them in here too. You have to be really careful to grab the right packs. They are the 10 packs that used to be 8 packs.

  18. Sarah

Just got 4 packs of AA and AAA for $1.24 each after coupons….(check your EveryDay Savings P&G books or P&G home mailers). UPCs… 4133304864 for the AA and 4133317064 for the AAA…happy hunting!
Note** Be careful with the peelies…the ones in my store expired in Dec of 2010, so I didn’t use them. Make sure you find the 2011 ones!

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just came back from RA. I got them at $2.24 and I got 5 x $1.00 P&G everyday saving coupon. I paid $6.76 for 5 packs of them. Thanks Colin!

  20. Jamie Foster

Just got back from the store made the following transaction:
    (3) 10 pack AAA batteries $2.24 each
    (3) 10 pack AA batteries $2.24 each
Breath Rights strips (20% discount) $5.19

    Total $ 18.63

    Used:
    $3/$15 survey coupon
    $5.99 Breathe Right RA coupon
    $1/1 PG book coupon
$1/1 Duracell coupon (not sure where I got this one)

$7.64 for $60.43 worth of products!

P.S. I used my $4 UPs that I gained from the Revlon beauty tools money maker deal that I did on Sunday so I ended up paying about a $1 in tax. I went to the Longview WA store, and yes that had TONS left on the shelf.

Thanks for the deal, my little buddy will have working toys for a while! 🙂

    • Kelly

Overage is against RA policy, I hope you had them adjust the Breathe Right coupon to match your 20% discount.

      • Christy Lighthouse

If THEIR computer allows it, I don’t see why it’s our responsibility to check to make sure they aren’t giving us overage.

      • Christy Lighthouse

If THEIR computer allows it, I don’t see why it’s our responsibility to check to make sure they aren’t giving us overage.

        • momwhocares

It is not the customers responsibilty to check – its about how you are as a person. And lets not assume the cashier didn’t notice and allow it for that person. WIth that said: I recently found out a very nice couponer friendly manager got fired at our riteaid. He was awesome, but he was to nice and so lost his job.

Something to think about when you’re saving a buck and a register/cashier made a mistake. Sometimes not saving the buck and saving someones job is what makes us better people. I know learned this when I found out he lost his job because he was always trying to help couponers. Now he is jobless.

There is always posts about charity and donating the goodies we collect for free or almost free- what about the charity in doing the right thing when it comes to couponing. Let’s help our cashiers and managers keep their jobs and point out those sometime over looked human errors – we sometimes trust the registers to much. If they still allow it, great you did your part. If not, think about those days you went back to have them fix the error the register made by over charging you .45 and you wanted the difference back.

          • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

            Momwhocares… Good Word

          • Pam

Its actually automatically taking off 5.99 , we discovered that it was giving me overage and it didnt give her an option to enter a price it just took off the 5.99 so she sd oh well i cant change it.

          • Jamie Foster

Why is this FONT so big? Stop taking up so much damn room!!

Ugh you know it is people like you on your moral high horse that seals the deal for me.
I WILL NO LONGER MAKE ANY COMMENTS ON A COUPON BLOG AGAIN!!! It never fails when I am excited about a deal and actually post that I was able to get it here come the “kill the buzz” folks, and I am tired of it!

No I did not have the cashier adjust the coupon down. I was excited to grab a hot deal and I am not going to stand there and tell the cashier to do his/her own job. I will tell you than in my high school days I was a cashier and if someone was going to tell me how to do my job I would not have been very happy about it.

On a side note the cashier was a supervisor who rang me up and if she does not know the rules of RA then I am not going sit there and tell her how to do her job.

And by the way, how dare you question “what kind of person I am” because I did not tell the cashier how to do her job and that she was supposed to change the value of my coupon. Are you kidding me? I have exceptionally high morals and lead my life in a manner that I am proud of and one that I set a wonderful example for my family and for my son in particular.

I do thank you for leaving this comment though from now on I can save a whole bunch of time by just reading the lovely deals that Collin posts and skipping the comments section, because of people like you who feel the need to lecture me EVERYTIME I DO SOMETHING WRONG!!!

Collin you have a wonderful site and I appreciate everything that you do, and not to worry this gal didn’t kill my “i got a good deal buzz” entirely.

            • Suszy

Don’t stop posting your great deals! I am a newbie and it is pretty exciting to see and learn what others do to get a good deal. You just gotta ignore the haters!

            • momwhocares

Jamie: Don’t stop posting your deals. Also, don’t get to excited when people discuss things either. My post even said – if the cashier allows it – great. And we shouldn’t assume that the cashier didn’t allow it. I was sticking up for you – about any one making assumptions about your deal

I didn’t assume you did anything wrong, my responce was in responce to Kelly and Christy. And, to tell others who would find what I learned as a learning experiance. The cashier told me how there are those people who come in and do not care if they cost them their jobs just to save a buck. So, I shared this story to let people know – it really does happen. People really do lost their jobs.

            • Christina

Jamie, first let me say “I am sorry there are some people whom have issues with themselves that they feel the need to belittle someone on a blog”. I find it very crazy at times to when I have posted an opinion and been attacked. I found that I took a step back and felt sorry for the person whom felt the need to type such negativety to someone they will never meet. Maybe they have no one for them nor have they learned the ability to control anger. Maybe they are the cashier whom faced trouble at work for errors they made, or are the cashier whom does not like to see people get a deal. However, not appropriate, please do not stop listing your happiness or things you have learned. For the most part there are great amazing people on here, whom will help with questions or share in your frustrations, whom you may mail some Q’s or they may help you get your Q’s. Hope I get the deal too, and I certainly will not be angered torwards the people who do. Woo Hoo for you, have a great evening 🙂

  21. rosy

Got them in Atlanta GA. No coupons but still a great deal

  22. AmyH

    Love you Collin!!

  24. Chantel

I went to two Rite Aid in Oregon and did price checks but no luck 🙁

    • Gina

I went to the one in Pendleton OR., and they wouldn’t allow me to do it even though it rang up $2.24. They said I had to pay the price on the shelf, and that it was a mistake.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am glad I read this far down, I am in Pendleton, too. Bummer! What jerks… :S

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Why? So that they could buy them all up for themselves as soon as you walked out the door?!? No WAY would I have walked out without my batteries! You should go back and have corporate on your phone waiting to talk to the manager when you get there. Ridiculous!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad I read this, I was gonna go to the one in Pendleton, but now I won’t. Bummer.

    • Molly

  30. Inna

Don’t have Rite Aid in Florida. Florida barely has anything even if it does not so much of a saving, but we still trying. Love your Website Collin. Thank you So much, for a lot of free info.

    • Kelly P. in AL

But you pay no tax on food or meds in FL. I consider YOU to be the lucky one. 🙂

  31. lana2201

Got some here in SC. No qpn and no peelies on the package, but who cares!! Thanks SOOOO much!

  32. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sitting in the Rite Aid parking lot after scoring 3 packs ofthese for less than the cost of 1! Thanks Colin, you ROCK (AS USUAL)

  33. Jim Carlson

Check the expire date on the package of batteries you purchase.
Batteries lose power just sitting around.
Consider what you reasonably plan to use in the expire time +3 months.
Buying batteries with a limited life, is not a good deal.
    Jim

Note – Even if never taken out of the original package, disposable batteries can lose 8 to 20 percent of their original charge every year. Storing them in the fridge or freezer will help.

    • anon

The batteries I got all say March 2016 on them….plenty of time to use them!

      • Jim Carlson

Great! I just saw that someone said the peelie was expired…
Didn’t want anyone to buy batteries with only 75% of their charge.
Keep them cool and they’ll last longer!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

thanks i will be shure to remember this

    • AllThoseThingsILove

and, the expiration date is printed ON the batteries, not on the package. The date you see on the package is the date the battery was made.

      • Jim Carlson

Thanks.. you are correct.. and manufacture date is probably more important.

  34. rick

just got 4 packs for 2.24 each and my breathe right strips for free in lewiston, maine. on the down side i gave the cashier an up reward for $4.00 and she said it was invalid because it was used before. i just got it the other day for buying thermacare and it certainly had not been used. anyone else ever run into this problem? it was my first time.

    • Amanda

If your Up+ reward were used would the cashier at the store not have it????

    • Christy Lighthouse

I’m pretty sure they aren’t tracked since I’ve had to have them void an order after it was completed for not getting Up Rewards and they’ve redone the order, scanned the same Up Reward and it worked.

    • Christy Lighthouse

  40. Colleen

Thank you! Worked here in Michigan 😀

    • Suszy

in Michigan, for me too! Yay! They weren’t hanging like they are in the picture – they were in a stand alone display with one side being duracell batteries and the other some off brand – I made the very UNHAPPY Rite Aid lady price check 3 times…. oh well.
