UPDATE: After reading through the comments below, it seemed that there was quite a bit of confusion as to what constitutes a twin pack. As a result, I contacted Mr. Clean Magic Eraser at 1-800-248-1612 and the customer service rep stated that the twin pack is indeed just simply a 2 pack.

As you may know, Walgreens has a Register Reward deal valid on select P&G products this week… Swiffer, Febreze, Bounce, Cascade, Downy, Tide and Mr. Clean. Man, I just went shopping yesterday and used my Magic Eraser coupons! I will say that it looked like my Rite Aid only had the regular Magic Erasers as pictured in this post, but I got the Heavy Duty ones for $1 at CVS after EBs. My mom owns a cleaning service and in my opinion, these are much better, although I would have gladly paid .07 for the regular ones!

  2. Jennifer

Couldn’t you also purchase 6 of the Magic Erasers at 1.94…
    1.94 x 6=11.64-(6)1.50 coupons=2.64
    Total 2.64 and get a $3RR back

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The coupon states 4 per shopping trip.

  3. Kristy

Oh man I wish I ordered the 1.50 coupons not the .50 ones!! Hopefully they will go on sale bogo again soon.

  4. Krystle

Too bad my paper didn’t come with the pg insert …. **fail**

    • Kristen

Mine either. I bought 5 papers and none of them had it. I’m in AR.

      • Sarah

That’s strange because I’m in AR too and I got the P&G insert in the Democrat Gazette on Sunday. The Democrat Gazette that I got had 1 P&G insert, 1 SS insert (I think it might have had all the coupons that were supposed to be in both SS inserts), and 1 Pepsi insert.

  5. CassPerkins

I wish the box I got had the coupons inside it πŸ™ Oh well, it is still a great deal regardless. I wish Walgreen’s had more BOGO deals.

  6. chazmck

Collin, I believe the 2pack and the twin pack stated on the $1.5/1 MQ are different. So (2) 2pack =one twin pack. In this scenario you could only use (2) $1.5/1 in lieu of (4). Just my opinion. Thanks

    • amydot

My coupon says $1.50 off of one twin pack or two other individual Mr. Clean items. It appears by the wording that you could use one per 2-pack of magic erasers.

    • Laura

I’m with you – I thought a twin pack was 2 regular packs packaged together – this pack states 2 pack. I used a coupon for every 2 packs yesterday and still thought it was a great deal.

    • deepndeals

you’re correct .. it was confirmed with mr. clean yesterday .. a 2 pk is NOT the twin pack.

      • Kristen

It appears that the coupon is not for this item. Wild for Wags is telling people that it doesn’t beep so use it. Just because she can’t find a twin pack online doesn’t mean they don’t make one.

        • Karen

I see that Collin and Christy BOTH called to make sure this is a valid coupon for this item. You make it sound like H2S and W4W are telling people to do something wrong when that is not the case.

          • Kristen

It depends on who you talked to. I called twice and was told two different things so I’m not doing the deal since it’s not really clear either way. I only meant that Wild for wags said that she couldn’t find a twin pack and it doesn’t beep so it must be right.(it’s in the comments) It just made it sound like she didn’t know. If she called and says shes right that’s fine with me what I had a problem with was they all posted it as fact before they knew if it was right or not. It could have just as easily gone the other way.

  7. Christina Casey

Plus I see theres a $3.oo worth of coupons too. Collin

  8. Carol_R

The coupon for Febreze Set & Refresh that came in the 5/1 inserts is $1/2 not 1 so you would have to buy 2 of that item.

  9. Nadia

My Walgreens had the regular one sale for $2.06 and heavy duty for 2.69…But it was still a deal for me.

  10. Dawn

Um, yea my Walgreens had these on SALE for $2.64 (!?!) and they were cleaned out. I’m tempted to start calling ahead to see what the actual price is in my area. Grrr…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

There are 2 different kinds of erasers at Walgreens. The higher priced one is the Extra Power one. The cheaper one is the original. I think the other posters are correct about the twin pack being two 2 packs bundled together because when I tried to use the $1.50 coupon on the 2 pack by itself it beeped.

  11. deepndeals

it was verified yesterday that a twin pack is NOT the 2 pack. A twin pack is 2 sets of 2 shrinked wrapped together. This decision came directly from the Mr. Clean company and therefore will not be valid on this particular deal.

  12. Jo-Ann

These comments about the twin packs were helpful–thanks everyone!

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My stores in No Cal the price was not $1.94. They had 2 varieties $2.24 (for original the one pictured) & $2.99 (extra strength)…

  14. IAmom

My walgreens said you had to buy $10 worth of products including any coupons. So say I had $1.50 off, I had to buy 11.50 worth of product to get the RR. Is that not correct for the rest of you?

    • Darlene

IAMom, You are correct. I purchased 5 boxes at Walgreens yesterday and my total came to $ 10.38 (including taxes) The manager told me that Mr Clean would only allow RR for totals over 10.00 before taxes.

    • K

No, that is not the case. You do not need to include your coupons.

  15. Liz

I just did the deal in my area. I am in Wa. Thanks for posting great deals!

  16. Kristen

That is not the number for Mr Clean. It’s for Jones and Frank a Petroleum company.

    • Collin

Sorry! I spoke with one P&G rep who then transferred me to Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and gave me the 800# that I originally posted above to use in case I got disconnected (and apparently, it was the wrong direct number). In any case, I have updated the post with the correct #.

  17. Kristen

I called twice and was told once that yes it will work and once that it’s not right so I’m still a little confused they also said it’s up to the store to decide to do it or not.

  18. Diana

Is everyone finding the magic eraser for $1.94? I live in South Florida and every time I see a deal like this I go to my local store and it’s never the price posted on here. It makes me not want to go and even check.

    • candice

Diana, I’m in S. Florida also. It was marked $2.69, but I went up front and got a price check and it came out to be $2.01. HTH

  19. Kelli

Thanks so much for this alert! We shared it with our readers and linked back to your site. Wa-hoo!

  20. jami

I tried this the other day and it didnt print out my RR… the lady said it has to be $10 after all the coupons….Really???

  21. Heather

I just got back from my first-ever Walgreens trip, and I am a little overwhelmed with the Register Rewards (I got 10, totaling about $19). First the expiration date was a surprise (May 19th), and then by reading the fine print about them I learned that I cannot use a manufacturer’s coupon and a Register Reward coupon on the same item. So this leaves me a little unsure about what to go spend these on-items that I don’t have coupons for, that are at least the price of the Register Reward? That doesn’t seem like such a great deal to me, as almost everything I buy I use a coupon for. Any hints or tips??? Thanks!

    • Kristen

RR will be applied to your total purchase. What the wording means is you can’t use it on a product you’ve already used a coupon for. The way most people do it is pick a cheap filler item that the RR will attach to. HTH

    • Carol_R

You have to buy “filler” items – items that you are not using a coupon on. I didn’t understand it at first but I believe I do now. Walgreens treats their register rewards like manufacturer coupons and only allows 1 manufacturer’s coupon per item being purchased. It really threw me at first and it takes “A LOT MORE EFFORT” in my honest opinion to plan your purchases. I’m guessing they do it this way since it makes it a lot harder for people to redeem their register rewards on items and it is impossible to purchase all items and use manufacturer coupons for them.

I suggest that you try to plan on purchasing some other items on sale that are a good buy but that you don’t have manufacturer’s coupons for (Walgreen’s coupons don’t count in this restriction just the manufacturer ones). For example, I recently used the Walgreen’s bleach which was on sale for 2/$1.99 as 2 filler items.

I’d rather not have the register rewards but just have an instant rebate but the purpose I’m guessing is to force you to come back into the store within a few weeks so that’s why they have a short expiration date on them. Also, I assume that a lot of people don’t make it back in within the short expiration date so that the manufacturer doesn’t have to pay out all of the register rewards (“rebates”) that were issued similar to the low number of people who actually mail in their rebate forms.

    • Laura

You just can’t use the register reward and get a register reward by the same company (say like the P&G one if you want to get more P&G register rewards). Otherwise you can use manuf. coupons and RR together – you just have to have at least as many items as manuf. coupons and RR together. Like this week Walgreens had tape for $.39 a roll – you can buy that as a filler item to use a RR. You just can’t have a negative balance. Hope that helps a bit. I also use them to buy my Sunday papers so I don’t have to pay out of pocket!

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Use 4 $1.50/1 Mr. Clean Magic Eraser twin pack coupons found in the 5/1 PG
Plus, use the $1/1 Febreze coupon found in the P&G BrandSampler or the Organize in Style coupon booklet
(Or use the $0.50/1 coupon found in the 5/1 PG)

You are using 5 P&G coupons that state Limit of 4 like coupons in same shopping trip. Does that mean only 4 coupons for same item, but I can use other coupons for different items in same trip? Hope I didnt confuse anyone, but I thought it meant only 4 P&G coupons per trip.

    • Kristen

It means 4 of the same coupons per transaction.

  23. Denise Kao

so when does this promo end?
this week or end of month? thanks a lot.

    • Kristen

      it ends Sat.

  24. wigglewomb

I just came back from Walgreens with 4 boxes of the Magic Erasers and 1 can of Febreze Air Effects. I only paid $3.46 at the register, and received the $3.00 register rewards!

I used 4 of the $1.50/1 Mr Clean products (NOTE: the pic on the coupon shows the 2pack of Erasers, hope this helps clear up confusion!) & $1.00/1 off Febreze Air Effects – these were all in the P&G insert. My insert had both a $.50/1 Febreze Air Effects AND a $1.00/1 Febreze Air Effects coupon on a previous page!

P&G limits 4 Like coupons in a transaction, so you can’t buy 6 of the magic erasers and make this a moneymaker (as far as I know). Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip Colin! With 3 kids under 4, these Magic Erasers come in handy – as does the air freshener, lol!

    • Agnes

I just got back from Wags and manager (she’s always mean) refused to accept 1.50 coupon for Mr Clean earsers, even though I told her it was confirmed by pg and it’s even on the picture, she said she wont accept it, so i got p..ed , left everything and left!

      she hates couponers

      • Kristen

When I talked to P&G they said it will work but it’s up to the store to decide to accept it or not.

  25. Esmeralda

I live in Texas and I tried to use more then one manufactures coupon at walgreens with an instore coupon and they told me that even if the coupons themselves do not state “do not use with any other coupon” they are still only allowed to only take one manufactures and one instore coupon together only. How and where do I find the stores coupon policies?

    • Amanda

You can never use more than one manufacturer’s coupon on an item, at any store. But you can use a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon.

  26. Kristen

I went the walgreens too. They only had 1 pack of the magic erasers left, but they had several of the 2 pack extra power ones for $2.61. So I looked at the coupon and it stated a twin back of ANY mr. clean product, so I bought four the the extra power ones which was a total of $10.44 – $6 from the coupons = 4.44 I had register rewards from the Noxema razers and Gum Dental Floss from earlier in the week so I picked up some clearance easter candy for filler which was $1.01 so $5.45 – $5 in register rewards = $0.45 plus tax $0.75 = $1.20 out of Pocket. And i got the $3 register reward so its a $1.80 money maker!

  27. Brittany

This 1.50 coupon wasn’t in my PG insert πŸ™

  28. Misty

Can you post a link to print those coupons? Or am I missing it?

  29. Christine

I just scored with this deal! This will be my first time trying these so I’m pretty excited.
