If you’re planning on snagging the AppliedNutrition Triple Calcium this week at Walgreens, unfortunately it appears the $5 off Walgreens coupon found in the June Coupon Booklet beeps.  Honestly, I’m not quite sure why…isn’t Calcium a supplement?  However, on a positive note there are $1 off coupons found inside the AppliedNutrition Triple Calcium boxes that will pair nicely with this deal!  Here’s how you can use that coupon to score a great deal this week…

AppliedNutrition triple calcium 90 ct $10 = $10 RR
Use the $1/1 coupon found inside the box (from previous transaction)
(*Keep in mind that the $5/1 Walgreens AppliedNutrition Supplements coupon found in the June Coupon Booklet coupon beeps, so you may or may not have any luck using that coupon)
Pay $9
Get back a $10 RR
Final cost FREE + $1 money maker!

This beeps because the coupon is for 30 ct, this is a 90 ct box. 🙂

I emailed Wags and a local manager called me this morning about this. He said this coupon is for the items pictured on this particular one because it is such a new product line. I told him one store has the coupon taped to the shelf and another store says it is for pictured items. He says that rule does not apply to all their coupons. Even the stores are confused by this. I told him that we couponers usually go by the written word not just pictures. He says they are aware of the confusion and they are “working” on a solution for the confusion on their coupons. So basically if you have a good cashier they will override the beep.

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Both of the Walgreens I went to price modified this supplement so it rang up as $5.00 Both times the coupon beeped and both times the managers agreed the calcium is a supplement. Good luck!

    • Annie

Were you able to get the RR?

  3. Kelley

I bought the applied nutrition calcium yesterday and when the register beeped, she just adjusted the price of the calcium to $5 instead of $10. I suggest asking them to do this for you too, worth a shot!

  4. jmartcougar

I asked the manager and she said the register wasn’t taking the 5 off only the one on the picture which are like 25+ bucks lol

  5. Jenny

No luck here. None of our 3 Walgreens would go for this no matter how hard I tried. They are def. going by the picture on this one!

  6. Ellen

I bought the calcium pills and was told I couldn’t use the $5.00 coupon because it wasn’t for the one in the ad….

  7. Rhianna

MINE BEEPED AS WELL AND APPARENTLY THEY ARE GOING WITH ONLY THE ITEMS PICTURED IN THE COUPON BOOK ARE WHAT THE COUPONS ARE FOR…..:(

  8. alicia

At my Walgreens they adjusted the price down to $5.00 and the $10 Rewards still printed out. Wish I would’ve realized there was a coupon inside the box too because that would’ve made it a $6 money maker instead of a $5 money maker. Either way I still scored $60 Rewards for buying 6 boxes of these, 6 icy hot naturals, and 5 goody’s headache powders! =]

    • Mackenzie

I’m assuming these were in 6 separate transactions? The wags closest to me is pretty nice about letting me do say 2 transactions but the one 5 minutes in the opposite direction has a “Coupon Hater” that I try to avoid when possible. So I have to make multiple trips in multiple days. Just wondering if others are able to do more in one visit.

    • Kristine

How can you buy so many of the deals? My walgreens limits to whatever the coupon says or one!!

      • LitlebityP

It just depends on the manager on duty or the store, I work at one and it is 2 limit for one manager, 3 limit for another, and 6 for another, so it could vary depending on what time of day also.

  9. Frances

Same thing happened to me. I asked the manager, and she said that the coupon in the June booklet is for a hair and nail supplement and it cost like $25. So ultimately, I couldn’t use it! Booo, but I still bought it.

  10. Maddie

I bought the calcium pills but now regret it and don’t think I’ll be using them.

I’ve been reading “Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy – the Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating” and they have a whole chapter on how there is no “calcium emergency” especially in the States and if you take a daily multivitamin (Yes!) and eat even an ok diet you’re probably getting enough. It also says the 1,000mg / day recommendation is unfounded.
Also, evidence suggests that too much calcium leads to higher rates of prostate cancer and ovarian cancer. It says there’s little proof (meaning, not enough) that boosting your calcium intake to the high levels that are currently recommended will prevent fractures. Strategies that really work are exercise and hormone replacement therapy (for post menopausal women). Just putting it out there…
    And Happy Memorial Day everyone!

  11. Delaina

They just did a price modify on mine and out it down to $5.00. There are no size restrictions that management could see and it doesn’t even specify what product from that line, so there ya go!

  12. Lisa

I was able to use my $5 Q, bit not without a struggle first and the RR did print out for the $10. I didn’t notice a quantity limit on the Q.

  13. Barbie

I was able to use the $5 coupon today. It dis beep, but the cashier pushed it through manually. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that we’re both pregnant and she took sympathy on me. Or maybe because we’re Joplin, MO, and she was feeling extra benevolent.

  14. Ruth

Well ignorance is bliss. The checkout guy actually told ME about the $5 Walgreens coupon–so I got the deal and the RR. They also had the Crackerfuls in stock so I realize this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

    • Mackenzie

WOW! That’s awesome! I’ve had a few guys that look at me like I have two heads when I pull out coupons. I didn’t even notice the June coupon until after my trip (oh well) so I might have to try tomorrow 🙂

  15. lydia

Yes I work at walgreens this cpn beeped when I did it so I told my manger and they told to fix the price so could luck I’m going to try to get one when our truck comes in I like to find that dollar off cpn

  16. Araaidan

Just tried to print out the V8 coupon. The first one printed just fine at the top of the page all by itself. Then I flipped the paper (trying to save a tree) and printed out the other to only have it print an add and ruin the first coupon!!! Has anyone else run into this on their second prints! I guess I’m going to have to start clipping the first one off and then printing. Hope this helps someone else not ruin their V8 deal…

    • dropofrain

Dont’ feel too bad; i had similar experience just yesterday. Asked my hubby to print coupons for Clorox (we share a printer). There was a huge ad at the bottom of the page, so I hit the cancel button to stop printing. Got the paper out, flipped it over and asked him to print the second coupon. Well, apparently he didnt pay attention to what I was doing nor did he look at the Print preview that pops up on the window! It printed the ad over my first coupon, completely ruining it. And then there was a confused look on his face: I just did what you asked me to do… GRRRRR

  17. Jessica K

What a great picture. None of my 3 WAGS even had a spot for these. 2 of the managers looked up the product in their computers and said that they have never even had it. Ridiculous!

    • heather

Jessica, I totally agree! Mine were on the photo counter! Then they were out of EVERYTHING else! EXTREMELY irritated! She kept saying a truck would come tomorrow, but the Ritz are off sale tomorrow! I almost threw a temper tantrum, but decided it wasn’t worth it. Walgreen’s generally sucks anyway.

    • LitlebityP

unfortunately not all stores receive all products that are on sale, the sore I work at doesn’t normally carry this but we got a bunch in and made displays for it with sign, and my store manager put a fix in so the $5 coupon does not beep it goes thru.

  18. Jennifer

what is up with Walgreen not having any of the items in they have advertised????? So annoying!! I went to 3 Walgreens to get the crackerfulls and the kids aquafresh toothpaste and they had NOTHING!!!

  19. Carol_R

I did this deal once & the clerk manually entered the $5 coupon since I showed him that it is the same company & obviously a supplement so for me it was a $5 moneymaker.

  20. Sarah

It’s not necessarily Walgreen’s fault if the shelves are cleared…. My Walgreens has always been fantastic about keeping stuff stocked for good sales, until Extreme Couponing hit the airwaves!! Now the shelves are wiped clean by Sunday night and I have been told by at least 2 cashiers that 1 or 2 people are coming in and just wiping out the shelves. I LOVE my Walgreens, but lately I have hated shopping there because someone (or a couple of someones) is being so rude by clearing the shelves. I have NEVER bought more than 1 or 2 of a good sale item until the last night of the sale, and then I go in at about 11:30pm and buy several if there is still some left. (I don’t live in a large town either. It’s a town of about 18,000 people and there aren’t a lot of other places to shop.) Sorry to vent, but I have been really frustrated lately and my husband hates that I’ve been venting to him. :/

    • Andrea

The same exact thing is happening in my town. The cashiers even hate it. I complained about it and they said that when they tried to limit the two people that are doing it they became mean. I told her I didn’t care that it’s their job to limit people and that I’m going to be mean because I can’t get my two items because they took 80! 🙁 I’m calling corporate today to complain. I know it isn’t the stores fault really, but the manager has to put their foot down and say no and not let these same two women come in every week and clean them out. I know one store in our area did put their foot down and these ladies no longer shop there anymore.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i put my foot down we had people that tried to get them and i said u can have like 4 and thats it we have to keep for other people they got nasty with me but i stood my ground they asked for a mgr called one up and he told them same thing and that we have the right to limit anything they left in a huff and didnt buy nothing needless to say aint seen them since im in cincy so it all over

    • LitlebityP

That does stink and I suggest you talk to the store manager to see if they will put limits on these items that are on sale, because the store I work at used to be the same way until several of us couponing clerks talked to the manager and we now have limits as to how many you can buy each day. It’s definitely worth a shot.

  21. Terry

Not likeing my walgreen. Bought kids aquafresh, rightguard had wags coupons and manufact. coupons didnt take off manu.coupons for aquafresh went back in the store cashier argued with me –I returned the aquafresh—Grrrrr 🙁

  22. Molly

There is also $1/1 Applied Nutrition Supplements in the “Answers at Walgreens: Vitamins and Supplements” booklet. I also bought Off Clip Ons and the IVC didn’t work for that either, but the cashier knew about the problem so she price modified it. Some sale items are also not ringing correctly and Wags knows about the issue.

  23. Jennifer

I went to my Walgreens and tried to buy the calcium and I wanted to use the $5 coupon. The cashier told me that I could not use the coupon because it states “one offer per item” and that it offers RRs so I could not use the coupon too. I was disappointed. My Walgreens was also out of half the items that I was looking for as always. If I don’t go in Sunday morning I don’t get the coupon deals. 🙁

  24. Amanda T

The cashier at my Wags said the coupon beeps because the product is so new it’s not in the computer yet. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but she manually entered the $5 off. I didn’t notice a size restriction or I wouldn’t have even tried to use it.

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just wanted to say thank you for pointing out the coupons inside the box. I wonder how many years it would have been before I found them for myself?

  26. 1337wifey

I thought maybe the coupon was beeping because it is in the June book and this is still May. So maybe it will work on Wednesday?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The front of the coupon book says “offers valid 5/29-6/25/11” so it should be working now.

  27. Claire

I got some today and noticed on the box after I got home that it says there’s chemical in them that the state of California has found to cause birth defects of other reproductive harm. Don’t think I’ll be taking them right now…

  28. Crystal

There was a sign posted at my Wags by the calcium stating that the $5 off coupon will not work for this item. I believe a memo was sent out to the stores. Just a heads up 🙂

  29. Marie

I went to my Walgreens in Tallahasse and the coupon just beeped and they would not honor the coupon. The manager said I’m getting it for free anyways and can not honor the coupon. When I returned home I called Walgreens Corporate Offices and explained the situation and she told I should be receiving a phone call from a Senior Member in Walgreens Offices. I received a phone call on Monday from Walgreens Manager wanting me to come back into the store to refund me back my $5.00 (for the coupon) from which they should have took in the first place. I just recommend you callling and speaking with someone in corporate.

  30. bethany

When I went to walgreens they just price modified it for the $5! It doesn’t matter that the picture is different it say “supplement” on the coupon… so they had no problem changing the price! 😛

  31. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This just shows that the managers and employees at Wags have NO idea how their systems work…the cashier told me its bc the item would be “FREE” after RR they wouldnt allow the coupon on it…they’re truly clueless…

  32. LILY

HI, HAS ANYONE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TRY THE $5 Q? DID IT WORK? WHAT STORE?

  33. Becky

Bought the Calcium last night-no go on the coupon in eastern Washington-called corporate-they’ll be calling me back….we’ll see what happens…..

  34. Nick

Totally off topic, but my cousin found (on another frugal website) that if Walgreens has a fresh produce section, they have a wag coupon code 5352 if the cashier is willing to punch it in. Some cashiers will let you and others may not. I think it is a for a $1 off an item.

  35. Molly

Where can we find this coupon for food?
