If you’re wondering what a House Party is…
Well, a House Party is thousands of parties across the country, hosted by people like us. Each event is sponsored by a leading brand (such as Kraft) and focuses on something cool that the sponsor wants its best fans to experience firsthand and share with their friends. Basically a House party let you share the products you like with all your friends, free of charge! Companies love to promote these type of events because it spreads the word about their products.

I was chosen to host a Weight Watchers Ice Cream Party. I was so dissapointed by what I received for my party guest after seeing all of the great stuff other readers had gotten. I received $1 off ice cream coupons and these strawberry markers that did not work. They ended up sending an e-mail that they would send different markers because the ones we received were not working. Good I thought until I received them. They were mini plain red markers. I thought I would have great things to hand out to my quest and I had plan mini markers and a $1 coupon. They sent the host a red polk-a-dot apron with a white ribbon. The white ribbon fell off before the guest even arrived. LOL! Then they sent a clear serving tray and pitcher. The tray and pitcher were nice but I would have preferred to have more things to give to my quest. None of my quest were dissappointed it was just me because I had expected so much more. Just thought I would share my experience.
I know EXACTLY what you mean, I was chosen for the GreenWorks party a while back. We got 10 (I think that’s how many) sample packs laundry detergent, 10 very small samples of burts bee’s lotion…some coupons (for some pretty expensive stuff-none of the q’s was used cause the items was to high to begin with & the q’s wasn’t very good) and a water bottle. They didn’t even send small gift bags or anything…..it all arrived in a giant ziplock bag.
Greenworks was my 1st one….now I’m waiting on the Velveeta one….and hoping it’s better.
The French Cocktail Hour houseparty was very disappointing! I combined my “swag” with a friend who was also accepted to host and had the party at her house, and everyone brought stuff to the party, so it was a great time, but the sponsor liquor companies provided next to nothing – the rebate was $3 off a bottle of wine that cost about $20, and the french cheese coupons were for a brand not even sold in our area. We couldn’t give away the give-away stuff at the end of the party – no one really wanted it. I was pretty disappointed and probably won’t sign up for anymore. But for those of you who get great parties with great goodies – congrats!!! 🙂
I also did the Weight Watchers House Party and I feel EXACTLY the way you did too! I felt like more should have been given to the guests. We all enjoyed the ice cream!! And what were the stickers and “mood” boards about?

I just was choosen to host a Budweiser backyard BBQ party!! I am so excited!
I am hosting the Expo Marker party this weekend. Really excited about this. I received 16 lap sized white boards, 1 big whiteboard (for myself), 16 dry erase-board erasers, 16 packs of fine tip washable dry erase markers and 16 packs of the bigger sized markers. I love House Party! I have filled out dozens of applications for House Party over the past year or so but this will only be my second party so if you haven’t gotten picked yet, don’t give up, you gotta keep on trying because it will really pay off!
I just got picked for the Budweiser party. We always have a party and cookout at my parents place so this works out perfect. YAY! 🙂

I was chosen for the Breakstone’s Sour Cream Party and was extremely disappointing to receive my Party Pack! Yes there were coupons for free containers of sour cream and dip (none of which are sold within many miles of me). Got some really small flexible cutting boards, a cheap chip and dip tray, a spatula that is seriously a 3″ rubber piece. Got some $1 off coupons also and some recipe booklets that are really small and honestly the recipes lack creativity and (from the sounds of it) flavor. Really disappointed. Isn’t the purpose to get others involved and network the company’s products? I shouldn’t have to pay out of pocket to travel downstate to buy containers of sour cream! Not sure if I will sign up for this again. I’ve seen others’ party packs and was very excited to invite my friends to the party but after seeing the load of garb I got in a tiny little box, I’m not even sure I’ll have the party. You would think they’d send you vouchers for ingredients for the recipes too. I’m not paying $50 out of pocket to host a party promoting a product none of my friends can purchase in the area. Yikes!
I was chosen to host a Breakstone’s sour cream flavor lover’s party and got my party pack last week!! It came with a chip and dip platter, spatula, 16 flexible cutting boards, 3 coupons for free Zesty blends, 3 coupons for free sour cream dips, 16 coupons for $1 off dips and 16 coupons for $1 off zesty blends. I also received 16 recipe booklets.
I was impressed with all the freebies; especially since this is my first time hosting a House Party!
I was picked for the Digiorno’s Pizza party and now my second party is the Velveeta party. Like others I can’t wait to try the party pack.

I don’t even apply anymore. I have a wide selection of friends/relatives, varied interests, love to talk up products I really like/believe in. I don’t know what they are looking for so I don’t bother anymore.
My mother got selected a few years ago – won’t say for which company- she got practically nothing- I think some low value discount coupons for the company’s very high priced main product- not even freebies maybe a full sized product or 2 for herself to use at the party. It was pathetic.
I’m pretty disappointed with house party as well. Expect I’ve never even had the ability to host one. Because of where I live I cannot apply. Because I only have a PO Box for my mail delivery my address is not valid. I called them, because I receive Fed ex and ups packages at my door no problem, and they told me they only go by what the USPS has in there system, yet they wont send to a PO box. So basically I’ll never be able to host a party.
I was picked for a Sauza party…we got small plastic pitcher, plastic margarita cups, an apron, and coupons that dont activate until after the party date..the host coupons are for $5 and the guest get $3 off. Tons of people complained and they are sending out new $5 coupons with better dates…People were still unhappy with the $5 off a bottle…and Sauza says its because thats all they give by law…well obviously they could have offered a rebate like Bud did…booo on them…I’m still having the party…but my impression of the company isnt so favorable

I was chosen for this one too! I was pretty disappointed in what we got. I got more when I was picked to host the Potty Dance party for Huggies!! And the stuff for that wasn’t all too wonderful either. I got a free package of pull ups but my guests only got like $2 off a package of pull ups!

I was choosen for the Redbook house party and received my box of stuff yesterday. The box was huge and heavy-definitely going to be a fun party to host, in the past I hosted a Flatbread party which was fun but not the amount of giveaway material that this party has. Good Luck to Emily with her party!
I hosted the captain morgan party and i liked my kit. Overall i would do it again. This redbook party takes the cake though. Look at all of that free makup and beauty stuff. The long island iced tea was faily inexpensive and the coupons did help. Everyone loved it and I will buy more of it again for the future.

Who doesn’t like getting stuff for free??? I was just chosen to do the Budweiser BBQ one. This will be my third House Party. The first one I did was Dominos pizza where we received a gift card, enough to try like 10 new specialty pizzas. Then I did one for Cloud Cakes and got a case of cakes plus other stuff. Can’t wait for the Budweiser one! The Redbook one looked awesome!
I was picked for the Redbook house party also. I was shocked at all the goodies in the box. My girlfriends are going to have a great time and I liked that they included something for the small children.

i love house party!!! i have been selected to do a few. my first one was the playstation move and i got the eye camera and 2 move controllers and a dance game as well as stuff to hand out and a gift card to help cover food. I have also done a pullups party and it was ok. had alopt of nice coupons to give out and the potty dance dvd. I also have done the durex party and that was a really nice pack. had lots of condoms, lube and even 2 vibrators as well as other things. My friend just got choosen for the breakstones sour cream party and she just signed up, although i tried for a year before i got one. I alos just got picked for the budweiser backyard bbq. The best way to make sure you get picked a lot is to stress to your guests to take the surveys after the party the more involvment the better your chances.
I have never been picked to host any of their parties, I tried to have several. Then I got an e-mail saying if I sent in a video to them, they had a few last chance spots for the Budwiser party…. no thanks, I sent an e-mail to them saying thanks, but no thanks..I don’t think they like my profile or something. No big deal I’ve been asked to participate in other things. I know they are very busy and get a lot of requests, but I won’t do anything over and beyond
Yeah, I have applied to about 10 of these house party things and never gotten chosen. I gave up on them long age. They are very selective. I think they should choose different people every time. I see people on here that have been chosen many times for parties. Yet, people like you and I have never been chosen. Sounds a little strange to me. Oh well, one less thing I have to worry about doing.

Before you sign up for a party, you should be able to see what’s included in the pack. If you don’t like it, you can always skip signing up for any particular one.
Free is free to me and for the five to ten minutes it takes to fill out the survey, I will take whatever they want to send!
I was just choosen for the Bud party…super excited! This is my first party so I can’t wait. I always have a BBQ for the 4th anyway so this fits perfectly with our usual plans.
Am I the only one who has applied for at least five of these and has never been accepted to host anything?? It’s not because of where I live and I don’t have a PO box. Are they more likely to choose you if you say you’ve never tried or heard of their products?

I got choosen for the Budweiser party today too! It sounds like a great party pack so I’m looking forward to getting it. This will be my 3rd House Party that I’ve been chosen for. My mom and sisters have been chosen before for other parties so it’s great to be able to try lots of new things for free!

I just received my Redbook party pack yesterday and was so excited to see everything inside! This is a really good party! The last one I had was for Shutterfly, which was also awesome. I have applied for many others and not been chosen – wish I would have gotten the Bud party, that one is awesome and my husband would have been thrilled!

I just got chosen for the VeeV Summer of the Superfruit Cocktail House Party! My Party pack will have a coupon/rebate for $25/2 bottles of VeeV, napkins, bracelets, 2 pitchers, $5 rebates for guests and recipes. Not too shabby! I was chosen for the Playstation Move Party last summer, we had the playstation already and they sent us 2 move controllers and the eye camera, a demo game, a subway gift card, pop can holders, frisbies, bracelets and buttons.. was a great party pack!

Yeah, they emailed all the selected hosts yesterday afternoon and let us know we had been selected.
So I keep seeing these house parties and always wonder about signing up but am nervous to because I don’t know what to expect. I was hoping someone could tell me what the requirements are (just from your experience, Im sure it varies) to the host after the party. For example what if you intend to have the party and not a lot of people show up? Or do they ask for the names of your friends, I feel bad potentially having my friends be solicited. Anything you know will help 🙂
I applied for like 8 house partys in the past month and finally got chosen for thr budweiser backtard bbq…so apparently all the guests have to sign this release form and you have to email them back or fax them before the party..has anyone whos had a over 21 party doen this before?

It’s a cheap and fun way to get together with good friends and try out great things! (The KY party had “balloons” and games, we left trials for later)

i just got my redbox houseparty box too…the best one yet! the box was sooo heavy and there is an absolute ton of stuff in there to give away! including 15-large packages of seattles best coffee-really surprized at that! This is my fourth one…did shutterfly first, then digiorno pizza and bare minerals. Def worth it! To all who are disappointed with your packs…just make sure you apply for the ones that are worth it. you can check what you get on the website before you sign up. I didnt even sign up for the ww icecream or bs sourcream ones because i knew there wasn’t much in them…
