Kmart Deals: $0.40 Chinet Plates, $0.99 Schick Hydro Razors…
So, I headed to Kmart yesterday for the Double Coupon event and let me first just say ummm… high prices?! I mean, seriously, I could not believe how high some of their prices were. For example, the Reach floss was priced over $3… and at Target and Walmart the same floss goes for under $1?!
Anyway, I did end up finding a couple great deals… but I will say it took a little while to find those deals because most items were just way too expensive – even after taking into account the discount from double coupons. 🙁 Alright, so here are the deals I did find…
Chinet Casuals Plates on sale 2/$3
Use the $0.55/1 coupon found in the 4/17 SS (will deduct $1.10 when doubled)
Final cost only $0.40 per package of plates!
Nestle Candy Bars $0.67
Use the $0.50/2 coupon found in the 5/1 SS (will deduct $1 off 2 bars when doubled)
Final cost $0.17 per candy bar!
Schick Hydro 3 Razor $4.99
(Unadvertised, temporary price drop through 7/11 – *HOT* price)
Use the $4/1 coupon found in the 6/12 SS
Final cost only $0.99!

I don’t understand how the Kmarts in my area stay in business.
They’re never busy when I go in to them, and they’re extremely overpriced.
The only time I ever go there is if I need something late at night (it’s the only 24 hour place in the area), but it’s a last resort, as their eggs/cold medicine/toilet paper is over double what it would be at Walmart/Target.
Eggs at my Council Bluffs, IA store was $.85 and at my Omaha, NE store it was $1
the store we went to (lansing MI) did not have anything on the shelves, and what was there was overpriced and often expired by several months. When we went into the store we stopped at the service desk to verify the double coupon event and not even the store manager on duty had a clue what we were talking about and wanted to see the e-mail that we were sent to verify, which we did not have, I left the store without anything in my cart as I don’t have time for that garbage.
It’s not the best price I have ever gotten on cereal, but I got 2 boxes of Corn Pops which were on sale 2/$5 and used 2 of the $.70qs so I paid $1.10 each plus got a free reuseable bag for buying 2.
That’s why I rarely ever shop at Kmart. I can’t understand A) how they’re still open and B) why people still shop there. What a waste!
My mom never shopped at K Mart…and that was over 25 years ago that I remember her saying it wasn’t a nice place to shop. I think they survived by joining with Sears, a store that probably only survives on its lawn, garden, and tools sales.
The sales associates at my store did not know about the event either, although my coupons did double. They did not want to give me my overage in cash and after conferring with a manager and giving me my money, she proceeded to bad mouth ‘couponers’ and ‘taking’ money from the store… Boo! Still, I got paid for my 5 softsoap liquid hand soap .79c in store coupon w/ .50/1 coupon found in a military flyer = I got paid .21c for each one! 🙂 Yay! That + the free hand sanitizer in their circular made it worth the trip! A few other <$1 deals were on the clearance shelves but were 'on hold' for clearance?? Hmm…
As far as I knew you don’t get overage at Kmart with the doubles. As long as I’ve been doing it they only double to the price of the item.
The manager was the one who told me they give the overage in cash… I had no idea what the policy was but the cashier was not wanting to listen to the manager. She said that was the policy?
I haven’t bothered with Kmart’s double coupon days in years because of their extremely high prices…I think our local store has stayed in business because it’s in a part of town where a lot of older people live and they are used to going to the same store and they have no idea how over priced Kmart is. Also, the store is walking distance from an area college so that probably helps them too.
I don’t even remember when was the last tie I shopped there,for obvious reason! their prices are shockingly high and I simply never liked that store! Everything they have you can get at TArget or Walmart – I don’t know how do explain it but feel weird at that store it’s not likable..
No one I know shops there so yeah it makes me wonder how they are still in the business?
I didn’t even bother checking if ine doubled coupons, it would be a waste of time , gas and everything to go there. I’d rather go to Walmart or Target, shop in a nice store and I always find some bargain or something cool..
Thanks for posting this deal. I went for the chinet plates and surprisingly they had a bunch left. I got 4 packages of plates for $2 + tax, not too bad!
There are a few reasons I still shop there. Not often, but every once in a while. They have great sales on kids clothing… and I admit I love putting my kids in character (Mickey Mouse, Cars, Sponge Bob) clothes. And they do clearance a lot of items… They put Capri Sun on clearance for .50 each and other juices, cereals and snacks for the same kind of prices. I know the expiration isn’t far away, but usually it’ll last for a bit over the expiration. Recently I’ve found that the clearance prices are not dropping down like they were. I think they realized people would buy it if it had a clearance sticker. But I’m sure not buying it if it’s only dropped .50 and expires next week! But I have no idea how they actually make money, since all I buy are sale and clearanced items!
I had no issues at my KMart! The clerk was not aware of the promo, but everything went smoothly. I was able to get 4 Mr. Clean (magic eraser, spray cleaner, bath cleaner, liquid cleaner), 5 Chinet plates, 2 Weber Marinade pouches, Betty Crocker Cake & Betty Crocker Frosting. Saved $20.68, paid $8.65 Thank you 🙂
I got the crunch bars, cake mix and frosting, brownies and always liners as mentioned above.
I also got MnMs “sharing size” bags. They were 10/$10 and I had a tearpad coupon a gas station for 75 cents off 2.
No paper plates or speedstick at my store
I actually found an amazing deal today at Kmart, mind you it was an accident! I had .35 cent coupons on Nabisco cookies that I found at the local gas station. I had been picking up a couple here and there in hopes that I would find the perfect time to use them! I found it today. Kmart had just marked a bunch of oreo cakesters down to 5o cents. So I got 18 of them for free after my coupon doubled! Score one form me! The only other really go deal I found there was Juicy Juice for .94 cents.
yes, the FL stores are doing the double coupon sale as well, until 6/25….sorry to hear all the kmarts do in fact suck as bad as mine here! wow, what in the heck happened to them? i undertand having difficulty competing with the other big chans, but puh-leeeeeze with their prices!! ugh, i got a $50 gift card for xmas that has been a source of misery for me ever since! lol I can’t seem to get rid of it & have made soooo many trips to my local kmart trying to do so….IF & WHEN they have a sale on something that is cheap enought that I will actually buy it, there of course is none on the shelves when I get there, the store is dark, dirty & so overpriced, even their clearance items, paired with a coupon are still more expensive than the regular price at target 2 blocks away! booo!

Has anyone seen the $0.55/1 coupon found in the 4/17 SS in Southern California b/c i can’t seem to find it among my 4/17 SS coupons.
I love Kmart because they are nice there. It is usually not busy and I like to support a store other than Target or Wal-Mart. I do go to Target and Wal-Mart, and other stores, too, but I do like to have as many options as possible. I hope Kmart sticks around so I have lots of options.
I found Shick Hydro Gel on sale for $1.99, used a $.75 Q for it making it only $.50.
I usually never shop at Kmart because they are so expensive, but I decided to stop in. I got the Schick razor for $0.79 after my $4 coupon. Plus on the package there was a coupon for free Schick Hydro shave gel when you bought the razor. So for $0.79 I got a razor and shave gel. Pretty sweet deal 🙂
My Kmart also had the Schick Hydro Shave Gel on special, it was marked down to $1.99. I had the $.75 coupon from 6/12 SS which the register doubled (even though the lady at the desk said they were not doing that) so they came out to $.49 per can.

yes, i see that kmart is extremely expensive that why i do my shopping at walmart. Since they have this deal going on i will try my best to get those savings. i have an question for u all since they’re dbl coupons for .99 will they dbl the 1.00 coupons?
I had (2)$0.50 off 5 Kool Aid packets from their Facebook page. Right now @ KMart they are 7/$1. With them doubling I used two coupons to get 14 packets free. Their ad also has coupons for each week in Jun/Jul for free items when you spend over $25. This week is a box of Capri Sun. It is on sale for $2.50 & the coupon scanned off $2.99 I asked first @ CS desk if our store was participating. The register automatically doubled coupons.
Well over all the sale I got was pretty good I saved 28.56 on my 41 dollar bill. However the experiance was TERRIBLE. When I walked in they only had 2 registers open. Also as I walked in half the lights where off and a couple were actually dangaling. How they get away with this with the fire marshal i have no clue. I ende up at the registers with 10 ban deordants (2/4) with a $.75 coupon makeing all of them 5 dollars together and then 3 shrick quatro razors for 4.99 but I had a 4 dollar coupon making it only $1. as I got thru the check out they try to tell me the sale was last week. I firmly told them that it states on there website that its this week. Then they try to tell me i can only use 1 coupon per trasaction “because that what the coupon says” I then began getting angry and say ” no mam its PER PURCHASE which mean one per Item not transaction” she keeps trying to tell me no no Im like listen here I am with my 3in binder full of coupons and your gonna tell me how to coupon I think not to I tell them to call the GM. So of course she gives me what i want and I am happy. But then the lady Forgets to scan 2 of my coupons and tell me to go to customer service to get it fixed I was suppose to get 3 dollars back but they only gave me a dollar. Needless to say I will not go back to Kmart.
