National Consumer Panel: Earn Cash AND More
Wow! If you’re looking for a way to get rewarded while shopping, you may be interested in signing up for the Nielsen National Consumer Panel! As a panel member, the Nielsen National Consumer Panel will provide you with a hand-held scanner and every time you or members of your household shop, you’ll use the scanner to scan the bar codes on all of your purchases. You can even have your kids join in on the fun and scan all your items while shopping. Then, once a week, you’ll send in your purchase information.
Interested? Head on over here and fill out the application and you’ll be on your way to becoming an NCP panelist! Keep in mind that not all areas may be needing panelists at this time, so you’ll need to first register to find out if they’re currently needing panelists in your area. If you’re a little hesitant about signing up, check out this email (and top picture above) that I received last month from reader, Melissa…
I went and checked my mail and wow was I super excited so many of my freebies came in, all at once! It was like Christmas in May. I am new to the couponing and freebies, so I was really shocked that they all really came! To top it all off I got a thing in the mail from Nielsen, it is a TV viewing diary, I am to record what I watch for a week and mail it back, its free shipping. This is to help with TV ratings!!! How neat!! Included with the information was five, crisp one dollar bills!!!!! So glad I didn’t throw that away without reading!! LOL! Anyways thanks Hip2save for posting all the awesome deals or I would have just had a normal mail check without you!!
Side note, I know the National Consumer panel is not for everyone as I have heard good and bad reviews. However, lots of readers have signed up and been really happy due to receiving surprise cash incentives in the mail. So, even if you don’t get accepted to be a panelist, you may receive a surprise just for signing up! 🙂
Ditto for me too on my experience being negative. I’ve been a member for 2 years now, have about 30,000 points racked up and basically that equals to about $30 bucks in rewards. LAME when it takes about 30-40 mins for me to scan my huge grocery trip each week. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME for $15 bucks a year!!
I’ve been a member for over 10 years. I take my scanner with me to the grocery and scan as I put the items in the cart. (I’ve gotten quite good at scanning one-handed and putting in info with my thumb while holding scanner in the same hand.) As to other purchases (at CVS, Rite Aid, etc.) these don’t take very much time when I get home. Plus my husband scans his own purchases or once in a while, leaves the item and receipt on the table until I get it scanned. I really don’t mind the amount of points needed to redeem for items – look at it as cash NOT having to go out of my pocket (as to the Cricut cutter that I almost have enough points for). Hang in there – it gets easier with time.
I was selected to participate and was so excited but I soon found out that it is a lot of work with an infant. i would suggest this when you have older children. I had to drop out. I would love to do it again someday though when my daughter is older and can help out instead.
