So, once again, I am not going to do my typical “Sunday Coupon Insert Preview” as I received yet another email from reader, Carol, with a list of all the coupons that she will be receiving in her Washington DC newspaper. As I’ve said on the previous posts, it’s interesting to compare the differences between the Washington Post coupon inserts and the coupon inserts that the Sunday Coupon Preview has highlighted.

Alright, so I am going to list all of the coupons that reader, Carol, will be receiving in her Washington Post newspaper tomorrow, 7/3. I would suggest checking the list below and also heading on over to Sunday Coupon Preview to get an idea of what coupons you may receive. Please keep in mind that NOT all areas will get the same coupons or coupon values.

There will be only one coupon insert available in the 7/3 Sunday newspaper due to the holiday weekend. You’ll receive one P&G coupon insert. Also, make sure to check your Parade Magazine or USA Today (depending on where you live) for coupons as well.

(To see the long list of coupons, click the link below “Read More / Post Your Comments”.)

* I have highlighted my favorite coupons in red!

Is the “only 4 like coupons” a new thing? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before and I usually get about 6 papers.. hummmm

    • mel

been like that for quite a while now…think Sept or Oct will make a year.

    • Angel B

Jamie, P&G has been doing this since April (I think?) Since that WONDERFUL show Extreme Couponing….

      • mel

nope. Its been well before “that show” that P&G put that wording on the coupons. Like I said above, its been since at least Sept or Oct of last year.

      • Kathi

@ Angel, This isn’t a direct result of that AWFUL (I meam wonderful, LOL 😉 ) show, but plenty of other things are, including negative attitudes, cpn policy changes and bare shelves. 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

All of the P&G coupons that I have received alwayd have limit 4.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        always…lol not alwayd

    • momwhocares

I first started seeing that on coupons about a year ago – I remember because the cashier pointed it out to me and I have been watching for it ever since.

  2. Elle

Since I’ve started couponing in January, I just watch the values on the coupons go further and further down. 🙁

    • mel

not me. my bounce/downy/charmin/bounty coupons have always been .20 or .25 off! Once in a blue moon they’ll offer a high value, like $1/1.

      • Adria

Same here in Texas. All the coupons I get for those products are .25

      • Bee

I have P&G coupons in my binder for $1 off Bounty napkins that was in an insert. Granted, that’s not usual but it’s good to stock up when they do issue the higher value ones.

    • Ronni

I agree…it also seems as if there are less coupons in the Inserts. I’ve also noticed that most of the good coupons are the print at home type, which I don’t like because I have to pay for the ink!

  3. topchief1

20 cents off Bouncee? Don’t hurt yourselves with those overwhelming offers P&G~!

    • Carol_R

I typically buy Bounce at Costco.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

@ Jami 4 Like coupons has been on the P&G since early last fall.

  5. Lena

The for like 4 started I believe in May or June’s P&G Prints. So you have to divide up your transactions by 4 per transaction of each particular item and set’s of coupons. A little annoying but if you have the patience and scare off other people behind you in the line like I always tend to then you will be able to get it done. They see coupons in my hand like I have a disease. Their loss 🙂

    • mel

you guys must be new are totally unobservant LOL. The wording has been on their coupons since last year!

      • Joanie

I agree P&G had the 4 like coupon wording since Nov that I can remember

      • mel

heehee.. Thats supposed to be OR nor ARE, gosh how one word makes a difference LOL

      • Lena

Not new, but I can see how you would have came to that assumption as I didn’t post a date. It’s been there at least a year.

      • Kathi

Why so RUDE??!! They just asked a question.

        Happy holiday, everybody!!

      • Kathi

BTW, I was talking about Mel being rude, w/ her non-observant comment, not everybody else!

        • mel

sorry if I offended 🙁 My sister and I joke like that all the time [about being unobservant]. I guess it doesn’t come across as funny if you’re just reading words, and assuming I’m being mean. Which I wasn’t.

    • Couponmickey

P&G putting “limit of 4 like coupons” has been on them for at least 6 months. It is up to the stores wether they will take more than that in the same transaction.

      • Valerie

If the coupon says “no more than 4 per transaction” that’s what you should be doing, no more than 4 per transaction. You know it’s there so why try to get around it by leaving it up to the store, can they not read either??

        • Couponmickey

I don’t usually use more than 4 in the same transaction, but I don’t see the difference in using more than 4 or using them in another transaction 2 seconds later.

          • mel

well, you might not, but apparently P&G does, that’s why they added that tidbit!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

They state 4 like coupons in one trip not transaction

  6. nikki k.

I miss you doing the coupon preview. I decide whether or not to buy a paper based on your lists of coupons. Last week, I bought a paper blindly and was not happy with the coupons. There were only 2 or 3 that I would actually use. Please go back to doing the preview.

  7. Annabeth

Does anyone know why we either get no coupons or very little (like this week) on holiday Sundays?

    • Valerie

I’m guessing because people are busy over holiday weekends, maybe…not sure I wondered that as well.

    • Agnes

I believe when the kids are in school, there are more coupon inserts. And during the summer months they slow down because sales are down. That’s what I’ve noticed through the years.

  8. Marcie

I don’t understand why everyone is trying to one-up each other and be pretentious and demeaning. Let’s all get along, just because you think you are the best and most observant couponer on the blck, doesn’t give you an excuse to make others feel under you.

    • Kathi

I AGREE! I think there might be some feelings about whether we were adversely affected by the Extreme Couponing show going on here. Mel seems defensive. I’m not saying the show affected the P&G wording, but it has had neg effects regardless. 🙁

  9. Tia

I hope they give the Everyday Savings booklet out again. I gotta lot out of deals out of that

    • Meridith

Absolutely! Me Too! They all expired on 6/30. I got to play “coupon fairy” in the store w/ the ones I knew I would never use.

    • Kathi

      That would be sweet! 🙂

  10. GlorinFlor

Wow, I don’t even know if it’s worth buying the paper this week!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Then dont buy it…Wow..First time ive ever read these comments and some of yall sound really mean.Just sayin.

      • Lena

You are correct Anonymous, there should be better taste in our wording. Some people can’t get past the bashing of others. We should all just be happy that we have a site like this one to be able to find these great savings’ that NO one has to give. They are a privilege like everything else in life and many take it for granted. Just be happy, safe, and enjoy saving a little not downgrading anyone. Happy 4th EVERYONE!!

      • Kathi

Agreed, no need for negative, we’re here to help ea other!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yea our paper is only 99c though so I’ll go ahead and buy it, but I don’t know if I’m going to use any of them. I guess it depends on how good the sales are the next few weeks.

  11. jes

I don’t know why people continue to complain about coupon values. Any savings is a savings and is better than none at all. They don’t HAVE to put out coupons. It’s best to appreciate what you are given than complain that it isn’t enough. That just sounds so entitled.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      AMEN!!!!

    • CA

For me it is more about whether I am going to spend gas money to drive to get a paper and then pay for a paper. If I am not even going to break even then there is little point to getting the coupons to begin with.

      • Katie

Why don’t you just get a subscription?

        • CA

Our local paper doesn’t carry most of the coupons. The paper that does is in a large city in our region, but doesn’t deliver to my area. We can only purchase it at the store.

    • Carol_R

You’re right that they don’t have to put out coupons. But the ridiculous prices that many of the items are priced at in stores is a huge issue that without some type of deals I don’t see masses of people buying the products.

      • Bee

I agree. There’s always an option to buy a product that is more value-priced. In many instances, the quality is just as good.

The normal price of the Tide stain product for 18 packs is $5.99. Minimum wage for an hour’s work is $7.25. Even people who make far above minimum wage (say $20 an hour) may have a hard time justifying buying a frivolous product that costs them more than 15 min of work to purchase.

  12. Elizabeth

Does that mean 4 of any P&G coupons per trip……for example 1 oral b, 1 pepto, 1 proglide, and 1 bounty??

    • mel

4 like coupons per P&G product. So you can use 4 tide, 4 oral b, 4 downy, 4 pampers, etc. But if you have different values, you can use 4 of each, so 4 $1.00 off q’s and 4 $1.50 off coupons for the same product.

      • Elizabeth

        Thanks! 🙂

    • dani113077

No it is 4 like coupons per transaction. 4 like oral b, 4 like pepto, etc..

      • Elizabeth

        Thank you! 🙂

  13. Jamie

When do these coupons expire? P and G already set us up until the end of July with the last insert, I’m wondering if these go until August 31 – or if I can just skip getting the paper this week!!! Please reply!!

    • Jamie

K – so I’m an idiot!!! I just saw the expiration right here on Collin’s wonderful post!!!! SORRY!

  14. bonjohn

Most of the time in Iowa, we don’t get half of the coupon inserts everyone else seems to get. When we do get Red Plum and Smart Source, they don’t have the ones listed on coupon websites. Usually not worth messing with.

  15. julie10

Hi everyone! Happy 4th and to the military that fights for our freedom. I just wanted to post a question
I thought that stores such as Target and Walmart were regional and close on prices and specials nationally. I have inquired of a couple of specials that I learned from Hip2save and the employees had no idea. Therefore I could not receive such specials. So correct me if I am wrong, do I need to pretty much use this as a guide other than to the penny ( so to speak) I love this site but want to know are the specials all over or limited to certain areas? Thanks for your comments in advance Julie

    • Lena

Do you reside in the U.S.? There are certain deals that have state restrictions on them but not many that I’ve acquired.

    • L

Julie, I’ve found that the stores around me almost never have the prices or deals that are listed on here or many of the other blogs. When they say product X is on rollback at Wal Mart for $1.99, when I go to my store it is usually $2.49. I have 3 Wal Marts within about 20 miles and all three of the stores are like that. You may live in a bad area, like me – we get very low value coupons when we DO get them, and most of the time we don’t even get a fourth of the coupons listed in the preview. And the sales around here suck. You just do the best you can and take advantage of saving where you can. Every penny you don’t spend is a penny saved.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I live in Sacramento Ca and I find the prices are usually a bit more. It tends to be about .50 cents or so. Sometime I luck our and it is less too. So you do have to check everything and I never count on a deal for anything important.

    • Kathi

Julie, I truthfully stopped chasing WalMart or Target deals, the prices are way too different, even withing 10 min of ea other UNLESS it is an advertised price. It’s amazing though, I do see similar deals all over the country in some stores. The prices may not be the same, but chances are if it is a good price in one area, it’s a good deal in yours, though not always. HTH!!

  16. sandy

In St Pete Times, only the P&G insert was found. Called the paper and was told that today is a national block out day for Red Plum and Smart Source. What does this mean? Are they correct? If so why do web sites show differently?

    • Melissa

They are correct. Since its a Holiday weekend, we don’t normally get inserts. But we are lucky to just get 1 P&G. Collin even says in her post
‘There will be only one coupon insert available in the 7/3 Sunday newspaper due to the holiday weekend. You’ll receive one P&G coupon insert.’

  17. javersa22

Is anyone from Northern PA? There were no coupon inserts in our paper….

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I know! I am so mad….we are visiting IN-Laws and not one paper had the P&G….stinks big time.

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Im still new at couponing and was upset today about getting the Sunday paper. I’ve never got the. P&G cpn booklet before so I went to a local gas station. And tried looking through the paper to see if the cpns were there. I was told I wasnt allowed to do that even though I was going to buy the paper. I asked the cashier how many I could buy and she said she didn’t care how many I bought (very rudely) so I bought 3. I got in my car to realize there were NO cpns in either of them. I then called CVS knowing They sell a paper w/ rp and ss. They told me they had p&g in their paper. I drove 30 mins to closest one to see They were already sold out. This was @9am and they open @8. (Was told they were stolen) so this was just a badddd day for couponing. 🙁 any tips on where I could get any other deals or if its smarter to just get a subscription? There’s another gas station that sells them in store but they don’t have a limit and they let ppl buy 20 of them at a time. That’s so greedy. Any help would be great.

    • Kelly

That cashier was in the wrong. You had every right to know whether or not the paper had coupons before you bought it if that’s what you’re buying it for. Our local paper has been an editorialized joke for decades. If I give them money on Sundays for a paper just for the coupons, that’s my prerogative. Guess that cashier was power-tripping. Sorry you had a hard time. However, Wal-Mart here carries a Sunday paper here, so you may try and see if you can find one there. I’ve never had an employee there stop me from seeing that all parts of the paper were there (mainly because it’s not any of their business).

  19. JinniMc

Thanks so much for explaining the 4 like PG&E coupon thing. I’m just starting out and that was confusing to me. I came here to ask that question, but you experts already hooked me up! Thanks, again! : )

  20. Audrey

I didn’t get any of my papers this morning.. I wonder why

  21. rebecacha

    Hello all,

If anyone who is a current subscriber to The Boston Globe would like to use me as a referral for new home deliveries please do so. You will get a $20 gift card and I would get a discount of 50% off. I dont know what info I need since their website does not allow me to see the details since I am not a current subscriber, but my email is rebecacha at yahoo dot com. Thanks! 🙂

  22. Busy Mama

Another benefit of the “wonderful” couponing show –

We live too remote to get newspaper delivery and need to drive each Sunday to pick one up. A bright pink notice from the newpaper carrier was attached stating that in the last 3 weeks 21 papers were stolen from that one box alone, and as a result, beginning next week (unless the thievery stops this week) coupons will be a subscriber benefit only.

I agree that it seems coupon values are decreasing and fewer great ones are available through the paper.

I, for one, can’t wait until that show is over and things hopefully settle down again.

  23. owls_for_olivia

In my condo building, we have a few neighbors who toss out their Washington Posts. I have started collecting their coupons and have amassed quite a collection! I am still new at this, but I am so glad I found this site. Collin, your match ups are SO helpful and I just print them out and go from there. Thanks so much!
PS: Does anyone know what the “Savings Now” paper in the DC area is all about?

  24. karla

I live in Washington Dc and the were no coupon in my Sunday paper so sad.

  25. piercedcat

Anyone in the Vegas area get coupons in their Sunday paper? I went to pick up a Sunday paper at the am/pm and all 10 papers that were left had no coupons. I was thinking someone might have gone in and grabbed them but I went to Walgreens and went through 3 of their papers and no coupons. Now I’m thinking the paper forgot to add them. I’m bummed that I wasn’t able to get them 🙁

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you! I was so upset about It. I asked if I could possibly return two or atleast one and she said no. Do you know if Walmart carries the Raleigh observer? I know they have rp and ss and the daily news only has ss. CVS also told me a convenience store sells the Raleigh observer but ppl pre order like 20 at a time and there are none left for anyone else. So greedy. I think They should Have a limit. Happy fourth of July everyone!!!

  27. Polly

No coupons in the Sunday Paper here either!
