Have you used the *HOT* 75% off select items at Staples coupons that I posted about yesterday?! If not, check out this email that I received from reader, Kate…

Hey Collin, I just wanted to say thank you for posting about the 75% off coupons at Staples! I would never have thought of couponing there, but when I saw the 75% off coupon for HP paper I decided to check it out. I was planning on using my coupons on a single package of paper, making each package $2.15 after tax. Then, after some thought, my husband said we should “Think bigger.” We ended up buying a CASE of HP All Purpose paper, which contain 5 normal size packages of paper and have a regular retail price of $34.99, for just $9.47 for the case after tax! That’s $1.89 a package! I wanted to share this deal in case other Hip2Savers want to do the same thing. Thank you again!

How about you? What did you purchase with the 75% off coupons at Staples?!

* On a side note, there are even more Staples coupons available here – including 50% off Sharpie Permanent Markers, 50% off Staples Retractable Ballpoint Pens and more (all coupons expire 7/9).

(Thanks, Sarah!)

Hi! I used the 75% off envelope coupon yesterday at Staples and got 100 legal size , security lined envelopes for $2.19 regularly $8.99. The cashier was even impressed! Thanks Collin for all that you do!!

  2. Courtney

Office Depot carries the HP case of 10 packs and they will honor competitor’s coupons. Mine did! Thanks Collin!

  3. Lynette

I am a Thirty One consultant and have many customers that I ship catalogs to so I picked up a box of 100 9×12 catalog envelopes for just over $5 using the envelope coupon!

  4. yangzi

I guess I am going to Staples today! 🙂

  5. Wendy

Not a thing. I don’t need envelopes and the pens & paper were pretty pricey.

  6. Ktj

We did the same thing, i checked with the workers first then loaded the cart with cases of paper, we were going to get some for my mom and mother-in-law. She accidently put it all on my staples account and the coupon worked for all three!!!! I also used the maufacturer coupons for $1.00 off any hp paper on coupons.com and it was such a great deal i felt like i had just robbed staples haha thanks for the awesome deals. P.S. if you live in Utah in a small town like i do go get the paper before its gone.

    • MrsRockNRoll

Is the coupon for $1.00 off still open to print? If so what was the zip you used?

      • Ktj

        77079

    • J

did you buy the paper seperate or in the bulk box ? did they let you use the coupon on more then one ? hwo much per pack did it cost ?

  7. lineth velasquez

i cannot found the coupon for 75% can you tell me where to find it please.

  8. beebs2010

I’m headed to Office Max today to see what I can find with these Q’s…they always take them and they’re much closer to me. Thanks!!! =)

  9. yangzi

I wonder if Office Depot will let me use those Staples coupons plus my reward certificate? Does anybody know? Office Depot is a lot closer than Staples to me… And I have $90 Office Depot reward certificate.

  10. joeywishtoo

Wow! I hadn’t thought about getting a case of paper – duh!! Thanks for the tip!
So, can you use 1 of each of the 3 different coupons in one transaction?
The coupon says Limit 1 per customer, so I wasn’t sure…

    • yangzi

I assume “limit 1 per customer” means “One 75% off paper coupon per customer”, etc, so you should be able to use all the coupons in a single transaction. They are all different coupons after all.

      • joeywishtoo

That’s the way I thought it would be, too! Thanks!! 🙂

  11. Jane

the coupon for 75% says ONE HP product….how can you buy a case?

    • Jane

      Is one case one item?

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, a case is an item or else for a single pack its called Ream. Hope this helps

  12. clayton

Used the 75% off on file folders to get some very specific and pricey folders my husband uses in his business. Am back today to use the 50% off plastic chairmats as he has just enlarged his work space and had me price these. Will save $35!

  13. Mandy

Sad, I don’t have a Staples and I really need some paper.

    • Pam

Several of the women have said that Office Max and Office Depot will accept competitor’s coupons which means they would accept the Staple’s coupons (that is if you have an Office Depot or Office Max in your city).

  14. Jenny R.

We went yesterday and the case of HP paper was actually more expensive – for 5 reams it was 44.99 and for one ream it was 7.99. So, we just got two reams of paper – we don’t really need more than that anyway as it will probably take us over a year to use this up.

    • yangzi

“we don’t really need more than that anyway as it will probably take us over a year to use this up.”

Really? I am going though paper and ink like there’s no tomorrow by printing out cool coupons Collin has posted here! 😉

      • yangzi

Now, if I can find “75% off any ink” coupons somewhere…. LOL

        • MrsRockNRoll

          2nd this!

          • brittany

            3rd it!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

buy generic ink from amazon or ebay. they work great are so much cheaper. i never pay more than $8 and thats for both color and black

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If you have a Costco Warehouse by you, they refill your ink cart. for less than $8. I have refilled the same cart. four times before having to replace it.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I print all my coupons on scrap paper. It saves trees, and it saves me money. I’ve never had a problem with a store not taking them with writing on the reverse side. And I use the least amount of ink possible (“draft” or “fast” mode depending on the printer).

        • Beth

My husband bought me a laser printer. Between nursing school paperwork and couponing, I go through a lot of paper. Ink, no! I have a high-capacity toner cartridge that I have been using for at least 3 months and have a ton of toner left!

          • Jess

We use a laser printer, too and we only have to buy a toner once every 6-9 months. Plus we get a generic that works just as well as the name brand but saves us 40%. Love that!

    • missdeally

oh man, the hp paper was on some kind of secret sale. it rang up for 29.99 at two different stores. you’re going to kick yourself if you ever come back and read this. so 7.50 for 10 reams.

  15. Treva

I just came back from Staples and got my case of HP paper! The cashier couldn’t believe that I paid under $10 for it!

  16. Lauren

Thanks for postin this deal! I told my mom about it and gave her the hip2save website 🙂 she teaches 5th grade and is starting to stock up on school supplies for her classroom for the upcoming year, so if anyone has any ideas on deals etc… Please let me know so I can help her get ready for when school starts 🙂 thanks everyone!

  17. Shelly

If you have a Costco Warehouse by you they refill the ink carts. for just under $8. I have refilled them four times before having to replace the cart. all together.

    • sahmom04

Where in Costco do you go for the refils? Customer service?

      • Felinda

In my local Costco they have the in refill station in the photo lab area

  18. Kate

@Jenny R. At my store, the “paper for inkjet or laser printers” was $44.99 for a case. We just got the cheaper, all purpose paper next to it for $34.99.

@Jane Yes, a case is one item.

We use a ton of paper printing out coupons and I wanted to try and cut the overhead cost on that. I’m glad my tip helped some people!

    • Jenny R.

Hmm, the sign definitely said it was the all purpose case for 44.99, but perhaps it was marked wrong – didn’t even think to have them price check it. But that’s okay, still got a great deal on what we did get! And glad so many others are finding the cases marked lower!

      • Kate

Well I guess it could have been more at your store. I saw someone else post that their price was even lower than mine! I sometimes forget how prices vary.

        • heyjules

Kate – thanks so much for the great tip! I didn’t even think about buying a case. But, I ended up getting a case for $8.75 – that’s without the $1 off coupon. I wasn’t certain whether they’d take it…should’ve just asked! 🙂 Got 3 uniball pens for $1.50, 100 security legal sized adhesive envelopes for $2.57. I used the $5 off coupon for compressed air. Just FYI – the price marked on the shelf at my Staples was $14.99 for a 2-pack, but it rang up at $12.90…so, with the coupon, only $3.95 per can. They also still had Charmin for $4.99 and I had a coupon. So, great trip to Staples – thanks for your help. And, Collin – thanks for all the great work you do! 🙂

          • Pam

I asked if I could use the $1 off MQ, but they wouldn’t let me because the Q said “off one REAM.” and I was buying a case. The manager then felt led to tell me “extreme couponing has become a theme around here.” (and the way he said it indicated he did not think it was a good thing!)

  19. Annette

Thank you so much!!! My husband and I just got back from Staples and each made a transaction and saved about $110 and spent about $56 (we bought a few things that weren’t on sale)… we used the 75% off on paper (bought the reams); off the envelopes; off the file folders; used the 50% off plastic sheet protectors…. THANK YOU!!! (Collin… my husband thinks I’m the best shopper ever and I definitely owe that to YOU!!)

  20. becky

i just got back and the case at my store was priced at $29.99, so i only paid $7.49. ALSO, I found coupons for $5 off ANY HP paper ream. So i bought a single one and only paid $1.50! It was one per customer but I grabbed some extra coupons, they are good until august 🙂

  21. sashagrace

I just got back from Staples. I headed straight over to the HP cases to load one up, and a manager came over and asked if I needed help. Then he saw the coupon in my hand and mentioned that it was working only on the reams, so I thanked him for the info, grabbed one ream instead and went about my shopping. A few aisles later (right near the envelopes actually…haha) he found me again and told me they had clarification and the coupons would work on the cases after all. (And they were already bringing one to the register to wait for me!) So he took the one ream I had back to the shelf and I made out like a bandit. Plus, HP media (CD-R, DVD-R) were 50% off, so I scooped up one of those too.

Good trip! I think the total was $98 before coupons, and after, it was $33. (I picked up a few small sale things toward the front too, and the cheapest colored Uniball pens for my proofreading!)

Plus I printed those 3 coupons on three of my last 4 sheets of paper…haha. Perfect timing!

  22. Bree

I got HP Photo paper, regularly $21.99, paid $5.50 for Ultra Glossy 5×7 sheets, but they wouldn’t allow me to use the Envelope coupon on padded envelopes…bummer. I still only spent $10 and my total before coupons was $43. Thanks, Collin!

  23. Deb

Thanks for the info about the paper deal! Got a ream today for cheap! Will not have to worry about paper for a while. 🙂

  24. Krista

I got a 19 pocket expanding file WITH A HANDLE for $4 to store my inserts in! (orig $15.99) I got 100 security envelopes for $2.13 (orig $8.49) and I got a pack of red, blue & black uniball pens for $2 (orig $7.99) YAY!!! Thanks ( :

  25. lcrowe

Where are you all finding the 50% off coupons?

  26. Freddie

I just got back from Office Depot and used the 75% coupons for the paper, pens, and envelopes. I paid $7.94 for the case of paper, $2.19 for a 12 pack of pens, $2.65 for 500 envelopes. Thanks Collin

  27. mamat-head

Can you use the HP paper on any printer?

  28. LisaMW

Great deal! I just went to my WA Staples and got the box of HP multi purpose paper (5 reams) for $8.58 using the 75% coupon + the $1 manufactuer coupon found at coupons.com.

  29. Barbara

I just came back from Staples and got 2 cases of HP paper, uniball pens and envelopes. The paper was $34.99 x 2, pens $4.99 and envelopes $.25. I spent about $20 for everything!

  30. Ktj

  31. Tam

    Ready to save

  32. Tam

I used the HP $1 off coupon and the 75% off and ended up with a ream of HP Multipurpose (originally $7.99) for $1.04!! Thanks for the awesome deal!

  33. Michael

I used the 75 % off coupon today at staples and I had the sales clerk order me a 10 ream(5,000 sheets) box priced at $48.99 for only $13.05. I gotta go back to Staples and pick it up this weekend.

  34. Patti

I went to Office Depot and purchased a 10 ream case of HP paper for $7.49 before tax. (It was on sale for $29.99 with $17.00 instant savings.) They said I could only use 1 coupon per purchase. I thought this was a better deal than my pens or envelopes I was going to get.

  35. Tam

Are we able to do these deals twice? I went a couple days ago, but didn’t get paper. I would like to go back and get paper, and wondered if I would be able to get more pens as well?

  36. Emily

I had awesome luck yesterday with this deal!!! I called th elocal office depot since Staples is 30 miles away and they said they would match the coupon. I went in after work planning to just buy one thing of paper. The manager was acting as cashier and I gave him my 75% off coupon and after trying to figure out how to enetr it he got it ready then I said I also had my manufactures coupon for $1 off that I wanted to try and use since it expired yesterday. Once I showed it to him he gave me my coupns back and said you know what Its probably easier and will even out so why dont you just take the paper and we will call it even.

Im not sure if he was a coupon hater and didnt want to really deal with it all or if he was just being extra friendly but I got my paper free and tahts an awesome deal in my book!!

  37. Sara

Hey! I wanted to say thanks for posting this deal! We got a box of paper for $12 after tax with the 75% off coupon. Then later today we used the 50% off coupon on a floor protector for under the computer (those things are usually so pricey and we’re about to move and don’t want to damage the floors in the new house like we did here). I also purchased the 15% off coupon and used it on something my hubby bought and am only $3 away from it paying for itself and we haven’t even started shopping for school supplies yet. Thanks so much to all the posters for the great ideas!

  38. Amy

Made my trip to Staples today and found 5 pks of Bic Brite Liner highlighters ($4.00) and Staples photopaper ($14.99) that are both free with the Easy Rebate. Thanks Collin!

  40. Mozella

    Thanks Collin! I got mine!

  41. Lovetosave

This was an awesome deal. Especially printing a ton of coupons all the time! Our stores 5pk of HP paper was $47.99 and with the coupon..myself and a friend paid $12.84 with tax! Wooohooo!
