How many times can one vote AND get the coupon, once?

  5. Valerie

Thanks Collin! I love shopping at CVS now because the deals are set up so nicely!

Was wondering if anyone else got the invite from CVS Advisers to compare CVS/Wags ad tomorrow morning?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I did not get this invite this time, but have in the past. Its a nice easy way to get some ecb’s! Lucky you! 🙂

    • Blairerynn

I got it two weeks ago 🙂

    • Kathy

I didn’t, but would LOVE to get this, maybe I will another week!

    • Collin

      You’re so welcome, Valerie! 🙂

  6. Karina

Thanks for sharing the deals 🙂

    • Collin

      You are welcome!!

  7. Lisa

Anyone know if the gas can image buy the Excedrin in the ad means that it’s included in the gas deal? It doesn’t look like the other “free gas” images and it’s not on Collin’s list of included items…

    • Collin

      Hi Lisa,
That’s a good question. Honestly, I’m not quite sure if that’s a participating item or not since it doesn’t mention the Free gas like the other items. I’m guessing it’s not a participating item, but you may want to ask your local store just to be sure!

  8. Alisha

Ok, quick question. Does CVS allow for coupon overage? They will have similac ready to feed bottles 4.99….. I have a ton of $5 similac checks, will they adjust the price down or will it allow a 0.01 overage? I only ask because in addition to the checks I have a few $2 similac coupons and would like to have a $2.01 overage if they allow it. If not FREE similac is grea too! =D

    • Bridget

CVS unfortunately does not allow overages. But free is awesome!

    • Emily

CVS does not allow overage. Most cashiers will adjust the coupon down, but some don’t know how to do that (or will tell you they’re not allowed to do so) and that can get complicated. Ask for a manager if needed – they’re usually happy to adjust the coupon down.

    • Marie

They accept overage at my CVS. Maybe it’s not part of their coupon policy and some stores accept it? It worked for me more than once, in different stores.

      • Carol_R

They accept overage in the CVS stores that I’ve gone to – but I’ve purchased other items so that the overage can flow over to those items.

  9. Lisa

Another question: is it true that the gas promotion items accumulate for a few weeks? what’s the time frame? I had some on my receipts for a while, but it never got to $30 and then it disappeared and started over.

    • Melissa

The gas deal resets each each week. It has not been carrying over. So if you don’t buy $30 worth by Saturday, it drops off and you have to start over the next sales week.

    • Collin

Yep, unfortunately it restarts every week so if you haven’t reached the $30 threshold by the end of the sale week, it will reset the following week!

  10. MaddyCruise

On my insert today , I found $0.75/1 Diet Pepsi 12pk and I’m sure the Diet Pepsi is included on this deal:
    Pepsi 12 oz cans 12 pk 3/$10 = $3 Ecb (limit 1)
    Final cost $2.33 each!

Woot..woot..I should say that’s a pretty cheap drinks!!

    • Kathy

I know soft drink deals are regional, but I think it might be 3/$10 get $3 ECB. I sure hope so, and I hope we get that cpn in my area, too!

      • MaddyCruise

Yeah,,, it’s $3/10. When you go their site and on their weekly ad,just put you zip code to get an accurate weekly sales…

  11. Diane

I don’t see the $10 ECB for John Frieda advertised. Is that normal that it wouldn’t be advertised? How much do you have to spend in products to get the ECB?

    • Kathy

It is a monthly deal. Spend $20, get $10 ECB. I just paid $7.49 ea last week. 🙁 I wish I would have waited, but at least I found them, most stores have been out.

      • Heather

Does a monthly deal mean you can only do it once a month?

        • Suzana

the limits will vary with monthly EB deals, but I can confirm that the limit for this is 1 because i bought 4 shampoos @ $5 (i had a rain check from earlier), used (4) $5 coupons, and got the $10 EBs (money maker!!). checked my receipt and it said offer limit reached…

    • Collin

      Hi there,
It’s an unadvertised monthly deal…spend $20 in John Frieda hair products and get a $10 Ecb! Should make for some pretty good deals this month, especially with the $5/1 coupon 🙂

      • Lina

I didn’t get the $10 ECB! How do I bring it up to the manager?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I spent $24 on John Frieda….2 shampoos and 2 foam things and didn’t get the $10 ECB either…..what can be done?

      • Diane

I didn’t get it either. Unfortunately it’s not in the weekly ad, so I wasn’t able to have them manually print out the ecb. 🙁

        • Sanjita

I didn’t get the ECB either. I called and spoke w/ the manager of my CVS. He was extremely helpful. He told me that the sale this week overrides the monthly deal. However, he said there were some JF items that would still work. He told me that because it was misleading, he would give me the $10ECB if I brought in my receipt – so I did and got it!!! I hope your CVS does the same for you!

          • Lina

Is there a sales book for these monthly unadvertised deals? Otherwise how do you tell a manager that might not even know about it?

            • Kathy

There are usually shelf tags in the store, but from comments I’ve read here and elsewhere they seem to have stopped this deal?? If the signs are there, the store should still honor it.

            • Sanjita

I asked the manager if there was a monthly deal going on with the John Freida products and he knew right away what I was talking about. But he may just be a really good manager and knows his stuff! He seemed very concerned about making sure the customers weren’t disappointed.

  12. Andrea

I can’t wait to do the pantene shampoo deal because I got a $2 off pantene product coupon on the cvs coupon machine !!! That will make it 1.97 for both and still have 2 extra bucks to spend somewhere else , whoo hoo !!!

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am new to CVS shopping. Can I use both the bucks I get online and the bucks that printed out in the store if they are from purchasing the same item? For two weeks it allowed me to print them, but I was afraid that you were not suppose to use them both? Please help

    • Kathy

@ Annonymous, No, you’re not allowed to use both. They have them available online in case you lose the ones that printed at the store. HTH! Good luck w/ CVS shopping!

  14. Tera

I am new to CVS shopping. My question is can I use both the online bucks and the bucks printed out at the register if they are from the same purchase. I printed the online one and it has a different expiration date and scanner number. I just want to be sure I do the right thing.
    Thanks

    • Kathy

@ Tera, No, you aren’t allowed to use both. They are just available online in case you lose them.

      • mouni

I’ve been shopping at cvs for a while now and I’ve never heard of online bucks. I’m I missing something?

        • Collin

          Hi Mouni,
It’s a new feature that allows you to print your Ecb’s online as opposed to receiving them in store. They are the same ones that print in store – just another way to access them! 🙂

        • Kathy

@ Mouni, If you’ve registered your card and go to CVS.com, you can see your spending, ECB’s etc. Apparently you can now print the ECB’s from the website, but these are the same ones that print on your receipt. I think they are doing it to help if you misplace yours.

          • mouni

Thanks, Collin and Kathy! 🙂 Great idea on CVS’ part. I’m always afraid that I would lose my ECB’s. This way we don’t have to worry about that. 🙂
Thanks again , Collin for all your hard work. 🙂

  15. Mitch

CVS sent me yet another $5 coupon via the Internet this week, this time off of $25 instead of $30. I must be a good customer. Now to calculate the best way to use it.
3 Haagen Daz and the Pantene for starters, thats a better Pantene deal than Walgreen’s. I will probably do both to stock up while I have a load of $1 coupons.
I just wish they hadn’t run out of those Hershey’s aero bars when they were introduced and giving out free coupons!
    thanks
    http://www.gaynycdad.com

    • Kim

My CVS let you pick any candy bar that was the same price as the Hershey’s one that was free. I must say, the Stevens Mill CVS in NC is the BEST!!! I <3 Maria! She's the best cashier they have and is always so helpful.

  16. mouni

Edy’s site is a mess! I tried registering they said I was already registered. I logged in with my usual info, (after several attempts) it seems that I’m logged in but I can’t get the coupon or vote. GRRRR why make it so complicated?! I guess I’ll be sticking to Italian ice or ice cream.
Thanks , Collin for all your hard work. 🙂

  17. Bdm

The .75/1 Crest Coupon mentioned expires today so it won’t work for tomorrow’s deal. I do have another .75/1 Crest Coupon I got in a box of another toothpaste purchase that doesn’t expire on 2013(!) but I think I’m going to save it until I can get it for completely free.

    • zelene

YOU can use a .75 crest coupon that was n pg coupon 7/3 and the one listed has a pic of 3D Crest bx but it says one crest toothpaste 4.0 oz or moe

    • Collin

      Hi there,
      I’m showing the coupon doesn’t expire until 7/31? There’s also a $0.75/1 coupon found in the 7/3 P&G 🙂

  18. bubulanddias

So I got my cvs ad today and in the front page it said nothing about the 3 ebc back.. it said 3/10 .. is the sale regional?? Or is my ad wrong??

    • Carol_R

My ad (Washington DC area) for Pepsi on the 1st page has

      you pay with card 3/$10
      —————————–
      extrabucks reward on 3 $3

It’s like getting it for 3/$7 after extrabucks.

    • Melissa

could be regional. I am in the south (NOLA) and its in my ad.

      • Collin

Yes, it looks like this is a regional sale so yours may vary slightly. Sorry for the confusion!

  19. Adrienne

I voted on the Edy’s community and it didn’t link to a coupon 🙁

  20. Amalia

Does anyone know hot to get the coupon after voting on Edy’s community?????

    • Janice

First you register, then you click vote, after you vote there is a button that says “Download coupon” click that button. Should be smooth sailing from there. HTH

    • Collin

      Hi there,
After selecting your state you’ll see a green “Vote and Save $1” link underneath a purple Register Now link. Hope that helps!

  21. Kara

Does anyone know if you can use two manufacture coupons and two CVS coupons for a buy 1 get 1 half off at CVS? Buy 2 Schick disposable razors for $12.75 total (online), use 2 store coupons $2.00 each, use 2 online coupons $3.00 each. This would bring the cost to $2.75 for both packs.

    • Collin

      Hi Kara,
Normally you’d be able to use 2 dollar off single item coupons (as long as they’re not $1/2 coupons) as well as 2 CVS store coupons for 2 items during a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off sale. However, I think the Schick online CVS coupon states it can’t be combined with other coupons, so you’re mileage may vary on that one? Please correct me if I’m wrong…

      • Kara

The one that I printed from CVS does not state that it can not be combined with other coupons or deals, but I could be reading it wrong. Thanks for the info

    • Lisa

I did this deal today. My store had the 8ct of Schick Extreme 3 for 14.99. I used the B1G1 coupon so I got the second $7.50 razors for free. I also used the $2 CVS coupon and the $3 Schick coupon I printed awhile back. That was used towards the $14.99, so I received 2 packs for $9.99. The register kept beeping, but the cashier got it to work out in the end!

  22. Christina

The Dial coupon that is printing is for Lotion not body wash, is lotion included too?

  23. ania165

Hi! For this deal, what is the coupon specifically for? toothrush or tooth paste?

Colgate Multipack manual toothbrushes 2-4 pk, regular, total or advanced whitening paste twin pack 11.6-12.8 oz total = $2 Ecb (limit 2)
Buy the Colgate Extra Clean Medium Full Head Toothbrush Value Pack $2.99 (based on online price)
Use the regional $1/1 coupon found in the 6/26 SS<—— ?????????

  24. DP

    @Collin,

This may have been mentioned previously, but did you see where CVS is giving you the option of loading the coupon they send to your card? What are your feelings on that?

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The ad for tomorrow shows that a mystery coupon is supposed to print. if anyone gets one let us know what u get. I am curious what it could be.

  26. Donna

Quick question. I have a $4 off $20 in store coupon. Could I use this with other coupons? For instance if my total is $23 before coupons? Would I give the cashier the $4 off $20 coupon first and then my additional coupons? Sorry if I’m sounding a little confusing! Thanks.

    • Margie

Yes, you can use it with other coupons. I like to give the cashier the 4/20 dollar one first (as some cashiers try to refuse to take it after), but I’ve had it work after giving them the other coupons (and the total’s gone down below the $20) when I’ve forgotten. Just to be safe, I would give it to them first.

    • Kathy

I give it to them first too, it just makes it clear you had the amt.

      • rebecacha

These Qs are actually my favorite feature of CVS and the reason I shop there all the time! If items were already free (after Qs and ECBs) you have a MM or if the items were a few dollars you may get them for free! 🙂

        • Kathy

Mine too! All they have to do is send me one, and I’ll start hunting deals! Might not be a money maker for me, but sure helps bring cost down. Great marketing strategy, win-win! 🙂

  27. Shelly T.

    On this deal:
Buy 2 Poise Very Light Absorbency Liners 16ct $2.49
    Minus 50% off = $3.74 for both
Use 2 $1/1 coupons found here
    Final cost $1.87 each!
Shouldn’t the final cost be $1.74 for both/ $0.87 each.

    • Collin

Oops, you’re right! Thanks for catching that! 😉

  28. Hanh

    thanks Collin

  29. Jen

Hello fellow CVSers! So, don’t forget to scan your card at the magic coupon machine….I got $5 off any $20 Revlon or Mabelline purchase….should make for some good deals!

  30. Jen

Wait! I also got $5 off Facial Skin Care purchase of $20 or more…..should/maybe work toward the Olay B1G1 50% PLUS rebate mentioned in add…plus coupons….oh the head spins with possibilities!!!!

  31. Kelly

Hi, i went to CVS today to do the exact same scenario as Collin’s to get the free $10 gas card (for last week’s offer) but after I had paid and was expecting the $10 gas card coupon to print along with it, it did not. They said that this was because I had used coupons that had brought me below the $30 and was counted as only having bought $18 worth of qualifying items. Since Collin has put up this scenario with coupons, I am assuming that you are allowed and can use coupons to get this deal. How do I go about getting it for next week? Am I doing something wrong?

    • Jen

That is VERY strange because it should have triggered the $10 gas card. They go by “pre-coupon” totals. It is possible that an item rang up lower than what Collin had and that brought you below the $30, but I don’t see how it could have brought you to $18!! You may want to check on CVS website to see if there is anything said about pre-coupon vs post-coupon totals and print that out to bring with you. I have been way under $30 after coupons and still was able to get the gas card.

      • Kelly

Thank you for your quick response! I thought this was very strange also as I believed it to be “pre-coupon” also but they kept telling me that it was going by “after-coupon” total. I double checked my calculated list to match up with Collin’s and even the cashier calculated it with her calculator also. I am not sure what to do. 🙁

        • may

just call the cvs customer service number. they should be able to help you..i had that happen before and i was able to print the extra care bucks from the red machine.

    • Kathy

It is definitely $30 pre-cpn, I’ve done it two other weeks. What does it say for your total at the bottom of your receipt, it should show the amt toward gas reward. I’d call, but I’d check your receipt and add it up so you can tell them what you spent on what. Good luck!

      • Melissa

The cashier was incorrect, the total has nothing to do with using coupons. I did the gas card deal twice, used q’s and ECBs and got the coupon both times.

Can you list what you purchased? Maybe we can figure out if something didn’t count or rang up a different price.

    • Tina in east Texas

There is probably an item that wasn’t the exact right one… someone else had a good idea – list your items for us and we’ll see if we can help!

    • Kelly

Thank you all for your support and help with this problem. my transaction was as fallows:
      -2 fuze drinks $0.99
      -2 Pantene hair care $5.99
      -3 Colgate toothpaste 3/$5
      -2 twizzlers $2
-1 Nice & Easy Clairol Foam hair dye $7.99
      ——–total equals to $30.95 (pre-coupon)
used $3/2 Pantene hair care coupon
used 2 $0.75/1 Colgate toothpaste coupon
      used 2 $0.75/1 twizzlers coupon
used $3/1 Nice & Easy Clairol Foam Hair dye coupon
      ———total equals to $21.95 (after-coupon)
on the bottom of my receipt, it says that i have only purchased $18.97 toward the Gas Card and that I need $10.98 to receive this reward.

the cashier also called the manager over and even the manager said that it was only valid ‘after-coupon’ meaning that I would have had to spend $10.98 more to receive this reward.

did i miss something? any help would be much appreciated!

      • Erika

It seems as if the register did not count your pantene items towards the promo, if you add up everything else, the total comes to $18.97. Maybe there was a glitch in the computer?

      • Kathy

It does seem like the Pantene didn’t count, not sure why. It could be a glitch, though I bought the shampooo and it counted. Did you buy the 25.4 oz shampoo or conditioner and/or the 10.2 oz Restore treatment on these?

        • Collin

          Hi Kelly,
From what I can tell, the Pantene is not part of the Gas promotion this week so that’s probably why it didn’t trigger 🙁

          • Kathy

Collin, I think she did the deal last week and is trying to figure out what went wrong.

  32. Kathy

If any of you get cpns mailed from CVS, check your stash, I have a $5 store cpn on Zantac, so w/ the $5 manuf, it’ll actually be a money maker! Hope some of you have it!

    • Melissa

      Kathy,

How do you get CVS coupons mailed to you?
      Melissa

      • rebecacha

Yes, I want to know too! 🙂

      • Kathy

Melissa and Rebecacha, I’m honestly not sure why I occasionally get cpns, except I am registered for e-mails and for the CVS Advisory Board. It isn’t a lot of cpns, but I’ll take it! Sorry I can’t help more.

  33. Paige

I have a question. In the ad, there is a spend 20 get 10 ECB on benefiber, gas-x,etc. If i bought two benefibers (total of 19.98), do you think that’s close enough to trigger the ECB? I know the gas card triggers at 29.95, so maybe?

    • Kathy

It might, but unfortunately you only know if someone else does it. If you buy one, it’ll tell you how much you still need, but I know that isn’t helpful if you don’t want to do it if you have to buy more. The gas cards have been printing .05 short, but…

    • Amy

Hi Paige, I’m new to couponing and wondering if two Benefibers (valued at $19.98) would trigger the $10 ECB as well. Please share your experience if you’ve tried the two Benefibers.

    • Amy

Hi Paige and Kathy – I tried the Benefiber spend $20 get $10 ECB deal and I DID get the $10 ECB even though my total came up to $19.98! Score! But the bottom of my receipt shows “Amount Towards this Reward – 19.98; Amount Needed to Earn Reward – .02”

  34. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went to CVS today and the Fusion shaving cream was 2.37 for the small bottle. I still got the $2 ECB and had a $1 off coupon that expired at the end of the month so I got a MM of 0.63. My CVS did accept the 2x$3 off coupons for the schick razors from facebook and 2x$2 off CVS coupons for a total of $3.84.

  35. Marie

Went to CVS this morning and the wonderful machine gave me 3 great coupons. $4 off $20 grocery purchase, $5 off $20 Facial Skincare, and $5 off $20 Revlon/Maybelline cosmetics. The facial and makeup expired tomorrow so I used those but the grocery doesn’t expire until 7/31. Love CVS.

  36. nikki

I got the rudest cashier at my CVS! People, if your in customer service, and your MISERABLE, find a different job, if you ENJOY being rude to people…theres plenty jobs for ya out there! The manager was “suppose” to write the cashier up after the little incident, I went in today and she was there, next thing I hear was…”additional cashier needed” LoL! don’t tell somebody your day will get better as soon as you leave! terrible attidude!

Sorry for venting on your page Collin! 🙂

  37. Sadie's Mom

Any other links for the Clean & Clear coupons? Says no print available.

Keep up the great job – love your site!!!!

  38. angie

Can you use a extra care coupon with a free mq?

    • Kathy

I’m not sure of you question. Could you be more specific about what cpns, and we’ll try to help

  39. Steph

Okay, with all the toothbrush deals going on lately, there is absolutely no reason for people to be running around using old toothbrushes! 🙂

  40. Kristy

I got my pepsi 12 pk cans and did not get my ECB….did anyone get theirs?? Not really complaining because they were still a great deal, just curious.

    • Kristy

oops, sorry. I just read the above posts, looks like my region didn’t have the ECB on pepsi. Oh, well! Thanks Collin for posting all the amazing deals each week!!

  41. Ashley

The magic coupon machine gave me a coupon for $2 off any 2 Pantene, Herbal Essence or Aussie Hair Care products. Can’t this be used as well to get the items free? If you were lucky enough to get it that is.

    • Melissa

My sister did this deal today. She bought 2 Pantene, used the $2/2 coupon from the machine, a $2/2 Pantene home mailer coupon and rolled a $2 ECB, so it came to .97/2.
Free if you have the $3/2 insert coupon, which our area didn’t get. I gave my sister the $2/2 home mailer b/c I am stocked on shampoo for quite a while!

  42. jmartcougar

I just got back from CVS with a ton of essentials for 5 bucks after coupons and ecb and got a 10 gas card thanks Colin!

  43. Audrey

For the haagen dazs, my weekly ad doesnt state the $3 ecb. It only says 3/$10, do you think ecb can be regional?

    • Janice

Apparently it is regional. I just checked my ad and there is no $3 ecbs attached to it which I was on my way to get these when I stopped to look more closely at my ad…frustrating. No point in going now.

  44. Luke

I’m kinda new here, and maybe this has already been discussed, but wouldn’t it be possible to buy say 4 Cottonelle Bathroom Tissue packs, get the gas card coupon, use it, and then return the stuff you bought? I know it may not be the most morally correct idea, but… is it possible?

    • zrb1976

Might not be morally correct??? It is definitely NOT moral at all. Pride yourself on saving money for your family while also being true to the spirit of couponing. Those of us who have to coupon to make ends meet will not survive if stores have to stop giving out the deals due to these kinds of problems. I don’t know if they would let you anyway, but in my opinion…don’t try.

      • Kathy

I agree, we are going to lose good deals if this type thing occurs! My pride is worth even more, so I wouldn’t try it, anyway, but this affects us all in the end.

    • Kathy

It is absolutely WRONG! I doubt it would let you because your card tracks your spending, but this type stuff is what gives all of us a bad name!

    • Janice

Dishonesty doesn’t pay. There are always consequences to our actions that are sure to pop up in the most inconvenient time.

  45. Tara

I just want to thank you for the many hours and all your hard work to help all of us Mommies out here conquer our fears of couponing bc you take all the hard work out of it and make it FUN!!

  46. zrb1976

I didn’t get a $2/2 PG coupon on 7/3. Mine is for $2/1, which still works for the Oral-B Indicator, but I get one for free, not two. Does this coupon differ regionally.

  47. Diana

Got the Pepsi deal yesterday….bought 3/$10, used $6.79 in ECBs I had from a previous transaction, paid $3 + change out of pocket, got $3 ECB back so the three 12-packs only cost me less than a dollar! Awesome deal on drinks! Thanks Collin!

  48. Kauana Jackson

I did not get the $3 ECB when I bought the 3 boxes of Dreyer’s fruit bars. Any ideas?

    • Kathy

Kauana, Double check your ad, I saw a comment somewhere that the deal was regional. If it is in your ad, either talk to them at your store, or call the # on the back of your card. If you call them, they can’t see the transaction for 24 – 48 hrs, though. Have your car # and receipt ready.

  49. rebecacha

I have a question about the wonderful coupon machine. Can 2 of these coupons be combined on the same transaction? It is obvious one can not use in a $20 purchase a $3off $15 and a $4 off $20, but what about my case:

    $4 off Revlon Mascara
$3 off $15 or the $5 off any $20 Revlon cosmetic purchase

Can I use both on the same transaction? Thanks for your help! 🙂

    • Kathy

I think you should be able to use both as long as you are buying the correct $$ amts on ea, though it could depend on the cashier. That should make for a sweet deal!

  50. Kathy

FYI: From comments I’ve read here and other places, they seem to have pulled the John Frieda buy $20 get $10 ECB. If you have the $5 cpn, it’s still a great buy, but if you are only doing it because it’s a MM, I wouldn’t, unless your store has a shelf tag. Hope this helps someone.
