I went because I’m taking the kids to Sunday school and then to Winnie the Pooh movie. 😀 Nevertheless, I was very fortunate to meet those in charge of the out of stock when I go later during the day and man what a mess. i might try this again if deals are worth it or have plans on Sunday, but I sure hope I don’t become one of those extreme couponers… poor kids (3 to be exact) sitting in the car alone at 1am while mommy coupons. I heart couponing but an eye opener to people: saving money is great but my children’s well-being and safety goes beyond any freebie or deal 😀

      • vanesza

That’s terrible =( i feel bad for those kids!!!! Couponing is suppose to be fun & beneficial, but its DEFINITELY not something to drag your kids out (& leave them in the car alone) at 1 am.

      • Kodi Namco

You are a horrible person to even consider/joke about leaving your 3 kids in a car at 1AM while you coupon. WTF!?!

        • Vanesza

If I’m not mistaken she was making an observation of something she saw, not joking about doing it herself.

        • Kathi

Read more carefully before you call someone a horrible person!! I also think she was talking about what she observed.

          • Kathi

BTW, I was talking about Kodi’s comment. Sorry it wasn’t clear the way it posted.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Kodi don’t you think you own her an apology instead of acting like you never said anything wrong? Now that’s make you a horrible person.

          • Kodi Namco

I am sorry for misreading. Didn’t think an actual apology was needed once everyone figured out I am an idiot. But I do feel bad and hope you didn’t get too upset or were too bothered by what I said. Sorry again 🙂

            • Kodi Namco

And on a side note…I would have def. stood by that car and called the police. There is no excuse for whoever left those kids in the car did.

  2. Caryn

I’m sure this has been posted before or is currently posted somewhere that I’m overlooking, but if I print the coupons off of cvs.com and then go and print some off of another coupon site for the same amount and same product can I stack these coupons?

    For instance..
on the CVS site: $2 off any Visine (but says redeemable only at CVS)
on the general coupons.com site: $2 off any Visine (does not say only good at a specific store)

Can I stack and get $4 off? Hope that wasn’t confusing.

    • ketsy

Yes you can … usually at any store, cvs, publix, target, you can STACK… use one manufacturers and one store coupon. Watch out for lettering…. if it says use at Cvs on the corner but manufacturer on top then no… because they would be two manufacturers… Hope this helps…

      • Kodi Namco

Ketsy is right. I checked the “CVS” coupon out and when you print it the top reads “Manufacturer Coupon” so it is NOT a CVS coupon but a manufacturer coupon making it non-stackable.

  3. Stacy

I tried to get the gas deal this past week by purchasing neutrogena naturals bars (I had 4 B1G1 printables) thinking that they would fall under the “cleanser” umbrella. it was also advertised that the neutrogena “cleansers” were B1G50%off. THE BARS DID NOT SHOW UP AS COUNTING FOR THE GAS DEAL OR THE SALE. I called cvs customer service and they informed me that none of the bars are considered cleansers. Just an FYI, it might happen again this week if someone tries that.

  4. Christine

For those wondering, I went to cvs tonight and the cream gel was included in the sale ($2.19). I bought 10 and got the EB. Also, did two transactions for the Aussie/herbal essences. Though my total for the gas deal was 20 cents short of $30 the reward still printed. So FYI, you could do Colins awesome deal without the gum purchase. 🙂 thanks for the deals Colin!!

  5. Blairerynn

The moisturizing cream shave by Skintimate was $2.19 @ my CVS and part of the ECB deal 🙂 HTH, sorry if this is a repeat!

  6. amc

i received a $5 off $20 on facial skin care, a $5 off $15 maybelline or garnier purchase, and $5 off $20 revlon or maybelline cosmetic purchase. does anyone know a good way to use these and can i use more than one of them on 1 purchase? thanks

  7. Jennifer

I received a coupon from the CVS coupon machine for $2 off any 2 shampoo or conditioner, so here’s what I did
Buy 2 L’oreal EverPure, EverStrong, or EverSleek shampoo or conditioner 8.5 oz or treatment 1.8-6 oz = $5 Ecb (limit 1)
My CVS had them on sale for $6 plus each came with an attached travel size shampoo and conditioner:
I bought 1L’oreal shampoo (with travel size included) and 1 Conditioner (with travel size included)
    Subtotal= $12
    used (2) $2/1 coupons
    used the coupon $2/2
    Paid: $6
    Received: $5 ECB
Final cost was 0.50 cents for each

  8. ashleyrose

Im new to couponing and I was wondering if for the gas card scenario can you use ECB’s from your other purchases towards the 15.XX total to pay less but still get the $10 gas card

    • Melissa

      Yep!

  9. Jan

Does anyone know if the palmolvie rinse aid $1 off (from P&G – exp 7/31) can be used on the .99 Palmolive? I’ve tried searching for ‘palmolive rinse aid’ but can’t find this as a separate product. any thoughts?

    • Melissa

Palmolive is not a P&G product. Its colgate. I don’t think Palmolive even makes a rinse aid, just dishwashing liquid and dishwashing detergent.

  10. Jennifer

Question about rainchecks and CVS…. If I get a raincheck for a product that has ECB’s associated with it, will I get the ECB’s when I redeem the raincheck?

    • kit

      yes 🙂

on one raincheck i got 2 extra ECBs on the revlon nail polish because i used my raincheck (4.99 get 4 ECB) and revlon nail was giving 2 ECBs that week. i don’t shop at CVS often because it’s 10 miles away, so that may have been a fluke. i don’t have enough experience w/ CVS to know.

    • Andrea

My CVS has given me rainchecks that do include getting the ECB back. There is even a designated space for ECBs on the raincheck. However, when I have had a raincheck with ECB on it, my awesome clerk at CVS has also just given me the overall price for the item. For example, if my raincheck was for a $4.00 razor with $3.00 ECB, my clerk would just ring up my razor for $1.00.

By the way, I have also called my store and corporate to acknowledge the courteousness and assistance this clerk has provided. I use many coupons and shop with a 3 year old and 10 month old, and he’s always been terrific. So many times people only call the store or corporate to ask questions or complain, but calling to acknowledge positive experiences can also go a long way.

      • Kathy

Jennifer, They do write ECB’s into raincks, which makes me much prefer CVS to Walgreen’s. I’m also told their raincks don’t expire!!
Andrea, What an awesome clerk! I think it’s great that you called to tell them too! They say the ratio of telling others about a neg experience vs positive is 4 to 1. We all need to work on that, the good needs to be recognized!!

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The Neutrogena deal did not work for me. The facial bars were not included in the ECB deal… south Florida.. OH well, will return them tomorrow. Thanks Colin!

    • Collin

Darn! Thanks for letting me know, I’ll update the post now. Sorry for the confusion 🙁

  12. Vanesza

Collin, was the crest pro health for me toothpaste part of the cvs deal after all??

  13. Jenn

Collin, please help! I know you also have a MacBook Pro so I hope you can help me figure my coupon printing problem. I have been trying to print coupons that uses “bricks” powered by coupons.com and everytime I click on “Print Your Coupons”, it ALWAYS says “We’re Sorry! It appears we don’t support your printer”. This is weird because it only does that with “bricks” system because i have been able to print coupons from smartsource or redplum sites just fine using my MacBook pro laptop. Any advice?

    • Amy

Hi Jenn (& Collin). I seem to be having the same issue as well, I’m not sure what it is. I thought maybe I was missing a plug-in or something, but I’ve tried everything I can possibly think of! Still no coupons from coupons.com site… 🙁 If you guys figure this out, please share. Thanks in advance!

    • Paige

I had the same problem with my macbook. I had to download firefox again and reinstall in, and then the coupons have printed from it fine ever since. however, i still cannot get coupons to print from safari. hope that helps!

  14. Amanda

How would we break the Aussie into two transactions and still get the ECB? Do they track the reciept, or rescan it?

    • Jennifer

If I am right, what you purchase is all tracked on your ExtraCare card. So, you can make the transactions back to back or spread them out throughout the sale week. It will still be tracked on your ExtraCare card and will print your ECB once you meet the purchase requirements. Hope that helps!

      • Amanda

        Thank you!

  15. chrissy

If I buy two of the CVS value vitamins (approx. 19.29 BOGO), would my total towards the gas rebate be 19.29 or 38.58?

    • Jennifer S

BOGO items on Gas Card deal you only get the amount for the 1st item not the free item. I tried that a few weeks back with the Nature Bounty vitamins.

  16. stepc

Well it was my first trip to Cvs, and hopefully the more experienced shoppers could tell me if I did well or not.

    Transaction 1
    2 edge shave gels @ 2.19 = 4.38
    1 renu sensitive contact solution @ 7.89
    1 hydro 5 razor @ 7.99
    1 shick intuition @ 11.29
    then I used
    2 .55 Q
    1 3.00 Q
    2 2.00 Q
for a total before tax of 23.45 and I got back 16 ECB’s

    Transaction 2
    3 boxes of cereal $6.00
    2 colgate toothpaste $5.00
    4 dish soap $4.98
    2 2pk of pilot g2 pens bogo @ $4.29
    used Q;s
    1 1.00 q
    2 .75 q
    4 .25 q
    and my 16 ecb’s
for a total before tax of -.25

So did I do ok for the first time? any advice?

    • Jenn

I’d say that if those are all items you need and use, you did great! $7 for 3 boxes of cereal, contact solution, and a bunch of other items–that’s great:)

  17. Sarah

I’m having the same problem printing coupons from coupons.com. What’s weird is I have 2 macs and one works and the other doesn’t??

  18. coupon newbie

I have a question not necessarily related to CVS. I was actually at Kroger this morning and purchased $0.60 worth of items (subtotal, after coupons) and was taxed $0.20! Is there some rule/law about taxes and coupon use? I never noticed this before. I guess because I’ve never had a total so low, it just jumped out at me this time.

    • Melissa

I know that in my state/county we are reponsible for the tax on the full amount of the product prior to coupons.

      • coupon newbie

That’s kinda what I figured. Man that’s gonna bug me now! Ignorance really is bliss 🙂 Oh well, still getting great deals. Thanks for the info!

        • coupon newbie

OK, now I’m more confused. Was at CVS today and was only taxed on the sale price. Apparently not a state/county thing. Could it be a store to store thing?

  19. Jennifer S

Anyone else notice free or almost free Nature Made vitamins this week? Magic coupon machine is giving out $2/1 Nature Made vitamins. If you go 2 days in a row stack two of the CVS $2/1 with two $1/1 Mfg coupons from Nature Made’s website and you get two bottles for free or almost free!

    • Jennifer S

Forgot to mention they were already on sale this week as BOGO.

  20. Lisa

When I scanned my card, I got a $10/$50 coupon from the machine. I bought:
    1 ReNu contact solution – $7.89 Used $2/1 printable
    2 Crest Pro Health toothpaste – $2.99 Used (2) $.75/1 (7/3 PG)

My total before coupons was $51.40 + tax
I used $14 ecb from last week
    I paid $5.16 + tax ($7.05 including tax)
I received $25.99 in ecb WHOO HOO!! and another coupon for $10/$50 on my receipt that doesn’t expire until 08/05/2011.

  21. Nicole

Does anyone know if you can get more then 1 gas card if you spend 30 in another shopping trip?

    • Kathy

      No it’s one per week.

  22. Lisa

The Magic coupon machine printed off a $4.00 off any Huggies Jean Diaper coupon making it 3.50 for a pack if you combine the 1.50/1 MC this week.
