restaurant.com certificates don’t expire at all…used to be 1 year, but they changed it a while ago!

  2. Christine

It wont let me use the promo code to just buy a restaurants.com gift card! I know it has in the past…. what am I doing wrong?

    • tanicksha

On the site it says “restaurant promo codes do not apply to the purchase or restaurant.com gift cards”….I guess they changed it.

  3. Lisa

    Wouldn’t 80% off a $25 gift certificate be $5.00?

    • Lisa

Oh, I see. Some of the $25.00 gift certificates are sold for $10.00. So 80% off that is $2.00. Now I understand…took me a minute! LOL! Thanks Collin…I check out your site several times a day & love it!

Thanks Collin! I’ve never ordered a restaurants.com gift certificate before, this will be my first one. For $2, actually $1.50, how could I NOT give it a try!?! Thank you!!! πŸ™‚

check out the menus if not familiar… I bought 12 before used 9, other 3 were not worth it to me so I wasted my 2 didn’t leave time to find someone to use them…. some require you to mention coupon to honor.

      • couponmom31

Thanks! I just bought one gift certificate to a local restaurant we’ve been wanting to try. If all goes well I’ll come back for more! πŸ˜‰

I can’t get my order to go through…..what am I doing wrong??????

    • tanicksha

Are you trying to purchase gift certificates to 1)specific restaurants or 2)just a restaurant.com gift certificate? If 1, it should go through after you enter the promo code at the top. If 2, then it’s because they don’t allow that anymore.

      • Anonymous

Yes I was trying to purchase $25 GC for specific resturaunt and it gave me the discount and I entered in all my info and credit card info and hit submit and it took me back to checkout????? I don’t know what happened….. I tried a couple more times and same thing.

I must live way out in the boonies, because it says there are no restaurants in my area, even expanded to a zip code 2 hours from my house, lol.

  7. tanicksha

Thank you so much for posting this!! I’m impatiently waiting for my husband to wake up so he can pick out which restaurants he wants to try. My favorite local Chinese food restaurant is on the list! I’m so excited! πŸ˜€

I called and placed my Order that way. The lady was so nice and told me they don’t ever expire and they also had $10 cards for $1 πŸ™‚ she even told me about the promotion right up front-even though I already knew lol πŸ™‚ I got $6 worth of stuff

Wow what a good deal! Unfortunately, I would have to drive 2-4 hours to eat at a participating restaurant – therefore, not a “hip” way to eat out. Oh, well.

  11. shannon

Be careful with restaurant.com. I purchased many last year and the restaurants in my area that were participating refused to honor them. Had a huge sign posted on the door that said “due to overwhelming response we are not honoring restaurant.com gift certificates”.

For 1.50 or 2.00 it might be worth the try but I wouldn’t go crazy buying a ton of them.

Well how about this! City Maps is running a twitter contest for restaurant.com and you win a $50 gift certificate just for tweeting their name! That would go very far with this website!!

  13. KM

I’ve contacted customer service in the past and they’ve either reimbursed me or substituted it with a general gift certificate equal to the value I initially had gotten if the restaurant I picked was unable to honor it (one restaurant was no longer in service). This has happened to me at least a couple of times so I was ok with them.

  14. Robin

When do the gift certificates that you purchase expire?

    • hoovla78

      Never!

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just bought TWO $25 gift certificates for $6 And they are both local restaurants I go to all the time!! Thanks Collin!

  16. hoovla78

So I used one of these over the weekend when my friends were in from out of town. The first time I used one at this place a few months ago it went great. This time they said they don’t accept them anymore and if they’re still on the site to not buy them anymore. The waitress claimed that they were a scam and that the restaurant never got reimbursed from the website when they accepted it.

I don’t know if this is true or not, but I wanted to give a warning and tell my experience. In the end they still let me use it “this time”, but to not bring them to the store anymore. uggh!

I still have more to use that I bought before, so hopefully I won’t have a problem with those!

  17. serena

    Collin,
Try to check out with one. The gift certificates aren’t eligible for promos at this time.

  18. Michelle

I bought a certificate a couple of days ago just to check it out, and it worked without any problems. I went ahead and bought several more today. What a great bargain! I spent $18 tota and will get back $4.50 from shopathome.
