If you love fresh fish as much as I do, then you’ll definitely want to consider heading over to Whole Foods tomorrow, July 29th, where you can snag Alaska Troll-Caught Coho Salmon for just $8.99/pound. Troll-caught salmon are caught one at a time by trollers (trollers are small boats that fish by hook and line which means that there is little impact on the environment and minimal bycatch), cleaned by hand and packed in ice. This careful individual handling process results in top quality and superb flavor.

Sounds good to me! 😀

I love these occasional deals by Whole Foods! Not only do they accept coupons, provide recycling for so many things.. who can pass up sucha steal on WILD, individually caught salmon?!

I don’t think tits fair to say that happens at every Whole Foods. As a customer there, I have always enjoyed my experience. The store I shop at is always clean and organized. There is always staff to help answer questions and help me find things. They have good sales. Mostly though, I enjoy the health food products they carry. I am on a special diet, and this is the only store in my area that carries the special foods I eat. I always see the deli staff preparing food fresh, and they always list all the ingredients at the deli counter. I shop there because I enjoy it and it meets my needs. I honestly don’t care that much where they dump there trash.

You might want to read the expose on whole foods they just did on gawker. Store recycling bins are dumped right in the trash, ready made food is provided by Sysco, lots of other stuff too

I know for a fact that the food they serve is not made by Sysco. It is made thier in their kitchens and with thier products. And as far as the trash. Here where we live that is what we are told to do due to put the recycle in the trash as it is sorted in at the facility. I really dont think its right to post things without knowing all the facts.

If you need a alternative to broiling/grilling salmon – breading it in panko and cooking it in a non-stick skillet with a tablespoon of oil is really good! In Alaska we may have a hard time getting anything shipped here for free but at least I can go out fishing and get free salmon 😉

Our Whole Foods in Cary, NC was all sold out of the salmon by 1:00 pm! For those that work a normal 9-5 schedule, that means NO CHANCE to ever snag one of these great deals, unless it’s on a Saturday or Sunday. The guy behind seafood said they weren’t shipped as much as they ordered or they wouldn’t have sold out so quickly. Hopefully they’ll offer a similar deal in the near future.
