Looking for some cheap/free entertainment today and for the next 10 days or so?! Then check out the 10 Days of Deals offered by Redbox. For the next 10 days (August 15th-August 24th), Redbox is offering up different daily discounts of either $0.10, $0.25, $0.50 or $1 off the first-day rental of anything at a redbox kiosk. To snag your daily discount, each day you’ll want to text DEALS to 727272 or check in on Foursquare at any redbox location. Once you do, you’ll be given instructions on how to get your promo code.
Today only (August 15th), you can check in on Foursquare at any redbox kiosk located at a Walgreens and you’ll then be given instructions on how to get your promo code good for a FREE one-day DVD rental (good only at kiosks at Walgreens on 8/15/11)!
* Fine Print: Daily deal codes expire at 11:59:59pm CST on August 24, 2011. Limit 1 code per day. 1 time use only. Valid for between a $.10 and $1.00 discount off the standard daily rental fee for the item rented at a participating kiosk for the first night of rental. i recently added 250 texts to my plan for $5. i have found it to be worth it. i don’t go crazy with texting, but it sure is convenient some times (and sometimes good deals come only thru texting also).
I am surprised it is just a dollar off to make it “free”. In the past month the cost has gone up to 1.30 after tax. Not a big deal obviously, just curious as to why.
where are you located? i hope mine stay $1 in northern maine. we don’t have many choices of places to rent.
I think I saw on their page that they were test marketing higher prices in certain markets.

Did anyone have trouble using the codes from last week that were posted from minute maid. It told me codes were not valid.
before i head out to a redbox, i want to make sure i understand the whole foursquare thing….do you do that on the kiosk itself? i have never seen that on my kiosk by wags, thanks! for any help

Is there a way to do this deal without texting or Foursquare? I pay per minute or per text – I think they just raised the rate for 25 cents a text, which takes away 1/4 of the “deal’ here IF they only send me one text per day.
I also have nothing that can do Foursquare at the kiosk, certainly not my 2006 Razor phone! I do have an Android tablet pc, but I chose to economize by going wi-fi only on that as well.
Does anyone know if there is a way people who don’t want to spend their lives tethered to technology out in public can get in on this deal?
I see increasing use of 4 square related to deals. Is there some post I can review about what exactly 4 square is .. I checked their website and it looks like only fancy phones can use it, I was hoping some technically savy savers had figured a way around that.. like how you can download free books and just read them on your computer if you don’t have a kindle.
