Walgreens: Cottonelle Register Reward Deal Update (Only Purple Packages Work!)
So I thought I would do a reminder post to make sure you all don’t forget to snag your cheap Cottonelle toilet paper at Walgreens! Also, from reading through the comments on my previous post, the Register Reward is NOT printing on the blue packages 🙁 …however, on a positive note, the Register Reward is in fact printing when you purchase the purple packages. I am sorry for the confusion on this.
Alright, so here is a recap on the deal:
Buy 2 Cottonelle 12 packs $5 each (regular price) – BUY THE PURPLE PACKS ONLY
Total = $10.00
Use the $1/1 Walgreens Cottonelle coupon found in the October Coupon Booklet (Will deducts $2)
Use 2 $0.75/1 coupons found in the 9/11 SS (Exp.10/23!)
(Or use the $0.50/1 coupon found here or in the 10/2 SS
Pay as low as $6.50
Get back a $3 RR (for buying 2 packages – valid through 10/30)
Final cost as low as $3.50 total – just $1.75 per 12 pack… only $0.15 per big roll! Awesome price!
I have 2 cottenelle MQs for $1/1 that say redeemable at Family Dollar. Does not say only at Family Dollar. Would made for an awesome deal, but Walgreens would not let me use them! 🙁
I had those too, but I was buying the purple Cottonelle and the coupon was for the blue Cottonelle. I didn’t see that b4 I gave the cashier the coupon.
Guess what? I literally walked to Walgreens a few minutes ago…,
1st. You MUST purchase the “purple package”.
2nd. Use the $1.00 coupon from the October book
3rd. I used a .50 cent coupon, any manufacturer coupon that you have for Cottonelle.
Both coupons were doubled , and a $3.00 RR printed!

My total after the RR for 2 – 12 packs = $4.00
The deal goes till the 30th, BUT, the coupon booklet in-store coupon is only valid till 10/22, just FYI.
even tho it says “use at Family Dollar” its a MANUF COUPON!!! they *have* to let you use it! it’s not a family dollar coupon! push on to a mgr and get the good deal!!! call wg cust svc @ 1800WALGREENS and tell them of your couponing trouble!!!
I can tell you…they don’t HAVE to let you use it. I had a manager come over and argue with me. It’s his choice and he would not take coupons that have another store’s name on them. Instead of using a 2.00 and a 1.00 coupon, I had to use a .75 and .50 coupon. Still a great deal, but not what it should have been. I really am sick of Walgreens 🙁

I bought the purple packs this morning and it did not work. There were no signs in the store that said I should get RR. Is there a place online that tells you what will get RR. I also bought some Cascade and Post cereal that I read online I should be getting RR and nothing printed out. Do they only work at certain stores.
Sometimes that RR printer thing just doesn’t work….. make sure the green light is on.
The post cereal. I bought 4 of the post raisan medley and the Register reward worked. I went back the next day and spoke to the woman at the cosmetic counter. I explained the post $3.00 RR that I got the day before and ask her if it would work on fruity pebbles. she did not know and said she would do a test. She tested it before she rang up any of my purchases. She did 4 post raisan medley and the $3.00 RR printed. She then did 4 fruity pebbles and the $3.00 RR printer. She did 2 raisan medley and 2 pebbles and it did not work and it did not work on the other huney bunches of oats flavors. apparently you have to buy 4 of the exact same cereal. At my store the cascade is posted.

Went this morning to a store in Ca to purchase the two purple packs. The register reward did not print. The machine was on because it printed a reward for another item I purchased. Discouraging:(
In Wisconsin, got 4 purple ones in 2 seperate transactions and got register rewards both times! I have also never seen the purple packs in stores up until now. My coupons also beeped at first and that cashier thought they weren’t allowed to take both the $.50 and WAGS coupon. However, she talked to another cashier and she just said to make sure to ring up the MFG coupons first and it should go through – and it did! Thanks for the heads up on these awesome deals. Anybody know where these unadvertised deals originate from, besides word of mouth (or blog!)?!
I don’t doubt that this is working, BUT I am wondering how because the savings booklet coupon says limit one coupon per customer, per offer. It doesn’t say it will take $1 off of 2 packs…
Marilynn, I wondered the same thing on the granola bar coupons, it states limit of 2. I went yesterday and bought 6 granola bars in 1 transaction and it took off 3 dollars so I think this one will work the same.
I emailed Walgreens they said the coupons in the book were manufacture coupons but in the ad (at least here in Houston) it shows that you can stack the coupon from the book with a manufacture. Strange lol
Ok So I’m a bit confused, so like where it says under register rewards, 2/8.98-$3= like paying 2/5.98, am I gonna be charged at the register 8.98 for the 2 and then a 3.00 reward isgonna print out or am I only gonna pay 5.98 plus a $3 dollar reward toward my next purchase and of course if I have 2 coupon let’s say 1.00 off each product, would that be 3.98 or 5.98 that I would paying, PlZ help me, my brain isn’t letting me work today

You would pay $8.98 (plus tax, etc) & then after you pay, the little catalina machine should beep indicating there is something that printed out. You will then get the $3 RR good on your next purchase. HTH! 🙂

I read something and it said 3 or 4 products per transaction cause it won’t take off whatever the coupon says on the next item, hope u understand my funky question
Tried this today, had big problems. Register would not accept store plus manufacturer Q… Assistant Mgr told me that I had to choose EITHER store or manufacturer Q, I called corporate! Corporate said I was correct, and that the registers are dealing with a glitch with this deal, which is why we are all having trouble with our Q’s. PER CORPORATE, we are still allowed to use store plus manufacturer Q, do not let your manager talk you into using fewer Q’s than you know you are allowed to!
If you have the ad for this week it clearly shows you can stack the coupon from the oct. book (IVC) with a manufacture coupon!

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY! ughhhhhh! The lady totally flipped out said she didn’t want to deal with my coupons. Some younger kid came over said I’ll just do it and I’ll put my initials on the coupon so I’ll get in trouble if its wrong. He even looked in the ad and was like it shows you can use it right here… Very frustrating. Plus she wouldn’t let me do more than one transaction.(every other store lets me.. but she had to throw in there Walgreens policy.. Next time I will ask in advance if the person cares). The kid would of if she wasn’t standing right there. He told me he doesnt usually work at that store. Felt bad for him working next to her all day. After her attitude I just left my extra toilet paper on the floor and told her she could put it back then. (I know immature but I had two kids in tow and she was rude from the beginning.. I just wanted out) I will never go to that Walgreens again. Good thing there are 2 other ones right around me.

If the cashier doesn’t want to ring up her extra toilet paper, it’s only fair the cashier should put it back. I don’t think this is a bad example at all…Its hard enough shopping with little kids, let alone having to put back product they refused to sell you!! Are you serious?!

Wags policy doesn’t say that they limit transactions. Therefore allowing more than 1 deal per person.

If you pull it off the shelf, then you should return it to the shelf…come on people…be responsible…plus that cashier was merely following company policy (1 RR/person) thereby protecting the stock for others to have an opportunity to purchase some as well. Really, are you that greedy?

Okay, so… this would have been nice to know before I bought the blue packages earlier! 🙂 I wonder if they’ll let me exchange and get the RR… hmm.
Caitlin… I bought the blue ones (they were the only ones the store had). I was traveling to another town this afternoon and stopped at a Walgreens and found that they had the purple ones. I asked and the clerk said No Problem.. she called the manager to OK the return and he said No Problem. He took back the two for $5 each and rang up the two for $5 each and out spit a $3 coupon! He said that was pretty neat and I thanked him and left doing a happy dance in my head (I don’t think anyone would have liked to see it if I did it for real! lol)

I bought 1 blue and 1 purple and got the register reward.
I tried today in Wisconsin with one of each (I didn’t see the update on it only working on the purple ones) and it didn’t work. Oh well though, I will try again on Sunday.

Tried this deal today at my local Walgreens and the RR didn’t print out. 🙁 I made sure that I bought the purple packages. Bummer!!

My very nice cashier at Wags in Kentucky reminded me about the sale and told me it was only on the purple one. My coupon also beeped but she keyed it in. Ya!!
Worked for me today. The 75 cent coupons went through without beeping. Also the Honey Bunches of Oats deal is still working — as of today.

Sweet deal! Grabbed four packs this afternoon, they were right by the entrance. I did the first two in a separate transaction, used a $2 RR I had left over, and got my $3 RR back. Used the $3 RR on the second set of TP to lower the price (forgot RR’s don’t roll into like products). 4 packs for $8! Really happy with the haul. 🙂 Thanks guys!
I’m sometimes skeptical of the unadvertised RR deals (there was nothing in the store indicating I’d get a RR for buying the purple packs). However it worked!!! I’m in Waukesha, WI. I’ve noticed these packs have less sheets per roll compared to other packs…but combined with the RR I would say this is still a pretty good deal.

I bought the purple pks today and had 2 $1 mc from the sunday paper and then the $1 WC. And got the $3 RR. Did the deal 2 times. Wish it would have worked on the blue pks yesterday. But thats ok, I am now stocked on toilet paper for AWHILE! 🙂
The $1 coupon worked on the purple pack, scanned right thru. Didn’t have a problem, believe it is up to the cashier.

I also made the mistake of buying the blue packs… but I used the walgreens in ad coupon and the manufacturers coupons so I paid $5.00 for 2 packs of 12 and the machine gave me a register reward….. so I went back yesterday armed with more manufacturers coupons and the walgreens coupon and did it again this time with the purple packs and got the register reward again!
I did this transaction twice. The 1st one worked perfectly and printed a $3 “cottonelle” RR. On the second transaction, I used my $3 “Kimberly Clark” RR from 2 wks ago and my cottonelle RR didnt print. The cashier told me that cottonelle is a KC product! Arrrgh, I unfortunately didn’t catch this. To make matters worse, I kindly asked the supervisor if I can void this tx and just pay without using that specific RR. With so much attitude she asked me if $3 really was worth all that trouble and told me “no, I won’t do it cuz it’s too much work!” 9 pm on a fri night with no other customer in the whole freakin store and she was too busy to help me!! sorry had to vent. Hope this prevents anyone else from making my mistake

I went to Walgreens yesterday. I bought two purple packs, I used 2 $.50/1 coupons and the $1 off in the Wags coupon book. I received the $3 RR. I then in a separate transaction bought 2 Nestle waters. They are on sale at Walgreens…. I used the $1/2 coupon and used the $3 RR. I was so excited I bought 2 packs of toilet paper and 2 waters for $10.00….that’s including tax!! Thanks Colin. I love this site.

Just got back from walgreens…I should have split my order up but my coupons were for 1.00 off 2, so I bought 3 blue packs and 3 purple packs. so 30 minus 6 wq= 24.00-3.00 in Mq’s= 21.00. And I got a 4.00 catalina 🙂

I bought 2 purple packs, no problem with coupons but did not get any RR. 🙁 On another note, I tried to purchase 3 bags of Chex and 3 bags of Bugles advertised in the circular at 2/$3 (prices good 10/2-10/8) the same one they advertise the Cottonelle deal with stacking coupons. I wanted 6 bags and pay $9. On the shelf it states 2/$4. So I ask the cashier about the advertised price, he askes the manager and she says they are on sale for 2/$4. I even showed him the ad in his own circular and he told me the maager said no. HUH!??? Walgreen’s does not honor advertised prices? So I told my daughter to put all 6 bags back, I did not want them if they would not honor the pricing. I had $3.20 in coupons I could have used making the price $5.80/6 with each bag being $.97. Not bad for Chex and Bugles if it worked. Oh, well.
I had the nicest cashier and manager at my walgreens. Apparently, the coupons will beep if you don’t scan the manufacture q’s before the store q’s. I was also able to get the deal on four peanut sweet n salty granola bars. My one-year old loves them! Thank you, Collin!!!
Yes I bought the blue on Friday and I didn’t get the $3 reward. Now I know why, I wanted my rewards. Didn’t get them but I got them for free.

Does anyone know where the catalina info is. I bought purple packs and turns out the machine was down. The manager couldnt do anything due to not being able to confirm the deal. I went to another Walgreens to confirm and worked perfect. When I tried to return the ones I bought at the first store the manager said he could only give me back what I paid. Since I used register rewards to start with I wouldof lost those and wasted my time. Not happy with Walgreens
Can you use a catalina coupon that was received from another store at Walgreens? I have a $2 off and $1off coupons that I received for this product last month from Food Lion. It does say “Manufacturer’s Coupon” on it. Can I use it on this deal?
I was wondering, I was at my Walgreen’s today and they have a sign up that says Buy one Cottenelle at $5.00 get a $1.00RR. Does anyone know anything about this? I wanted to do the buy 2 get $3.00RR. Now I am not sure what to do.

I just scored an awesome deal on this! My husband shopped at Kroger this week and he got a Catalina for $2.50 off the purple Cottonelle (manufacturer q)! So I used the $2.50/1, $0.50/1, 2-$1/1 wags q. So my subtotal was only $5!! And I got back $3RR! How sweet is that?
