I double checked but I didn’t get this coupon in my RP. =(

    • Michelle

Darn! This coupon is not in my 10/30 RP either 🙁

      • Jessica

        coupons.com has $1/1 coupon printing 🙂

    • Anna m

I’m pretty sure I have about 50 of these

    • Ashley

      me either 🙁

My Walgreens is unfortunately kind of squirrely. I’m sure they will say they can’t honor the coupon because it’s more than the value of the item. Does anyone know what does their policy says?

    • Rei

This is exactly what the Walgreens’ coupon policy states –
“The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).”

With that said I found that many cashiers are hesitant to adjust the price since the coupon beeps…

Thanks Rei….Hip2Save readers are the best! I will try that and see if it works 🙂

    • mdlex

That happens to me every time in Walgreens. I have tried several different offers with coupons and because the coupon exceeds the value they say they can not honor it. How does everyone else do it?

      • coupondaisy

The policy I have says word for word ” in the event that any items selling price is less then the value of the coupon, walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price”
I figured this ment that they would adjust the coupon down to the price of the product. Well while at Walgreens just two nights ago I busted out my policy to the manager who told me that it only means that if the coupon has a price box (such as on a free product coupon where the casher is to write the price of the product) they can accept the coupon. They do not have a way to adjust the coupon down. Then again after in the middle of my polite argument with this guy he just walked off balling his fist. Ugh! It was a bad night in other words and now I’m not sure what the hell that line in the policy really means???

The way it had finally worked for me after about 8 months or so of couponing is that if your coupon exceeds the item just request the manager check you out. Supposedly, the only persons or people allowed to input or modify a coupon amount is from the management staff. I go to one Walgreens in particular and make sure I have established a friendly relationship with the managers and as I walk in if I am gonna bug for one, 5, or 10 coupons to be adjusted they will be happy to and know the drill with me and it just becomes a usual to them that I think/hope isn’t such as hassle as it was for either them or myself like it was in the beginning( for them because they didn’t know they could do that but being the handy-dandy couponer that I have become, carrying the coupon policy came in handy several times to reassure them). Hope this helps! Good Luck!:-)

My Walgreens doesn’t have to call a Supervisor to adjust a coupon down- cashiers do it for me all the time by themselves. There isn’t anything “special” they have to do.

  3. Missie

I know at my Walgreen’s they always have to call a supervisor who will treat me like I am trying to rip them off and give my snears and rude attitude.

  4. shelle

My RP this week had exactly 0 coupons in it -all ads. I had to laugh. Thankfully I get my coupons free from my neighbor:)

    • Amber

I love neighbors, and grandmothers who don’t use their coupons!

    • kim

call and you may get another one when that happens!

  5. Ana

will this beep still if we have a filler item?

  6. Sarah

I got a lot of stuff from Walgreens, and I definitely got all those sneers and rude attitude. The cashier had to call over the assistant manager who then called over the store manager. Why don’t people understand if I want to save money, I’m going to use coupons?

Also, the Walmart that I go to, even though on their website it clearly states you don’t have to have the ad with you, told me I couldn’t ad match unless I had the ad. Any comments??

    • MA

Call corporate, with names and times of the incident-if you have them. Let’s make them aware that some stores are NOT honoring their own policy, and it does make it difficult and very embarrasing to those of us who are using coupons and thinking we are following the rules of couponing and store policies-only to get to the register and be embarrased and ridiculed. Of course we will be very nice about it…sugar will get you further and more than vinegar. 🙂

      • kari

        GOOD IDEA

  7. Sarah

Thanks MA! I actually told them that in store about how their company website states that and they were like “yeah… well not here, this store makes their own rules” or something along those lines.

  8. Racheal

I tired to get mine (san diego ca) and they didn’t let me. They said that it doesn’t take the coupon on a travel size. She tried to scan it three times and it still didn’t take it. ;-(

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

got mine today today no problem

  10. angela

got mine today with no problem. I had 4 coupons and bought 5 so that the coupon would not beep or be adjusted down. came to just .95 cents for 5 tubes.

  11. Jodie5148

I have the other problem where I have the coupons but I couldn’t see any lotion that size for the .99 cents.

    • angela

I found them around the beaty counter checkout on an end cap, not with the travel size section.

      • Jodie5148

Well I talked with my walgreens and they are actually a smaller store and told me that they dont carry that size but I might go try another store that is not far away, I guess it is a bigger store and they might have that size. Thanks for the help 🙂

  12. Nancy

I got 2 sample size today at Walgreens. They were not in the travel size section they were more towards the front of the store in the beauty section. Used my coupons, no problem.

  13. Alexcia

Sadly, my Walgreens has the Carmex priced at $1.99, I will have to pass on this one. Must a regional price, ugh!

  14. rachel

Thank you so much for this info. I picked up my 40 free pictures and two carmax for .17 cents (tax) They had these sitting on the cosmetics checkout counter. The cashier didn’t know what I was talking about to adjust it down so the manager cane and told him how to do it without any issues.

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My walgreen do not have this item.
