After you download the app, open the app and register. At the time of registration you will then put in the bonus code “hip2save”.
Do I need to have Internet connection to scan barcodes?I have iPod touch, iPad but when I’m not home I’m not able to surf the net.

Yes. Once you download it, open it, and then you can register. At the very top is a spot where it says “bonus code”. Enter “HIP2SAVE”. It’s right above where you enter your desired username.

me and my sister are addicated to this app.. personally i use it to leave the toddler monkey with her daddy. and go to the stores with my sister… He doesnt get how we spent “so long” at the store.. yet i never come home with anything.. . hehe gotta have me time sometime

Once you download the app successfully, you’ll be able to click on Settings and then a registration screen will pop up. You’ll need to enter your email and password and then there will be a field to enter the bonus code HIP2SAVE. Hope this helps you!

Where’s the settings for android?
There should be Icon in your phone that looks like white shopping bag with Green Robot pic, that says “Market”. Click that icon, use the search bar to type “checkpoint”! Hope that helps:)

It sounds like if you already downloaded the app from before you won’t get the points, so maybe we have to uninstall & reinstall?
I just downloaded the app for the first time on my android and don’t see where to register or put a code
Once I installed, I just went to rewards( you can four icon on the bottom) and clicked “redeem” and it popped a window asking for registration. On the very top of the window was a space for “Bonus code”, type in “HIP2SAVE” and then choose your username, type in your e-mail and password:)
I guess this doesn’t work with a BlackBerry? 🙁
OK, can anyone tell me how many points i will earn when I check in a store, and then how many I have to earn to get, say, an Amazon gift card? TIA
Checking in to a store or restaurant or anywhere that is listed (sometimes gas stations and other stuff) gets you 2 points. Then there are some places where you can get points for scanning – usually stores like Walmart, Target, Kmart, Best Buy, etc. There are usually about 10 things to scan at each store and you get 10 points for each. Sometimes they have an item or two that is worth more, like this week at Kmart I got 35 points for scanning some almonds. With each scan you also get a coin, which you use to play a round of a bonus game. On those you can win points – the most I have ever won is 50 but you can win more. I believe a $25 Amazon card is 8,000 points. I have only been using this program for a few months and I have almost 20,000 points. It’s great!!!

I’ve been using this app for about one month, its great, my husband uses it too, he likes to go shopping with me, we both find the items and scan them.
The fun part of it is you get to spend your coins ( each product you scan you get a “coin”). There are games like a slot machine and a scratch off to see what more points you win. I usually get between 20- 50 points when I win the slot machines or scratchoffs, which is fairly often. Also they have a facebook that you can get even more coins, if you participate in posting on there. They have contests and so forth. Its fun I recommmend it to anyone who has a smart phone/iphone.
How do you redeem your points? I haven’t found the spot? I see the different options that you can choose from.

I have an iTouch too but I’ll try it. I did find before that I could take a pic of one box code with an app and when I got home, or in range of a WiFi, it would finish going through. It might be slower but maybe it’ll still work.
How do you scan products? With your phone camera? I don’t have an iPhone, however I do have an Android.
You need a barcode reader. I use QR Droid. It works with all the apps that I use that have a barcode (My book catalog, movie catalog, etc.) Then the app uses your camera and the barcode reader together.

I know that this is off topic, but this post reminded me. I downloaded the CheckInToWin app from a post a couple of weeks ago. I went to WalMart and earned 140 points. Redeemed for a $20 and a $5 gift cards before the points needed to earn rewards went up. The points are subtracted from my account, but no gift cards in my email and no response to my email. Has any one had any problems?

I redeemed mine for a $5.00 one and it took a couple of weeks to get my e-mail with the gift card. This is a new app has only been running for less than a month so they may be a little slow.
I downloaded the app but when I try to register it tells me my account has been banned for violation of terms and condtions! What did I do? I entered a username and email address and a password. Has this happened to anyone else?

that just means you didn’t win any “bonus” points. If you get 3 of the same item, you will receive 20, 50, 5,000 or more points HTH
Just an FYI. Checkpoints will ban your access if you scan things and checkin from your home. They use your location finder on your phone and can tell when you are doing this. It may seem like it is working for a while and then you will get an email telling you to stop or they will ban you from using this app. I wish they would fix it like the check-in-to-win app and not allow you to checkin or scan unless you are in fact at the store.
I have a Samsung Galaxy tablet, i just downloaded the app from the Android market. Once I opened it, someone else was already signed in and it will not let me create a new account. My tablet was not previously owned by anyone and I’ve never had a CheckPoints account. Any suggestions?
This is interesting. What’s the purpose for CheckPoint? Are they collecting pricing data from the different stores? Or seeing whether they carry the products?

i have heard alot of negative things about this app.. claiming you cheat and when you try to get a prize they dont let you and just ban you or take all of your points. Seems like more than just a few… Has anyone had any problems with this app?
