UPDATE: According to reader, Katherine, you may be able to find this same Pepcid 8 ct. at Dollar General priced at $4 so free after the coupon! 😀

If you snagged the $4/1 Pepcid coupon in yesterday’s SmartSource coupon insert, then you may want to clip that coupon and head on over to Walmart. Pair this coupon with the Pepcid Maximum Strength 8 ct. box which should be priced at $4.38 and you’ll pay only $0.38! Keep in mind that this $4/1 coupon is only valid for a week (it expires on 11/13!).

It’s free at Dollar General. The 8 count is ringing up at $4 this week, so I only paid 0.24 each (that was my 6% sales tax)

Dollar General & Riteaid are the only stores I have in my town. Everything else is 5 miles or farther away. Hopefully they have it. I need this stuff in my first aid kit for allergic reactions. I was told at the ER to keep it & Benedryl on me at all times

    • Moe

      Thanks Katherine! 🙂

    • nickyB

They were $4.50 at my Dollar General. I still got one & it saved me trip tp Wal-mart where they probably don’t carry the 8 ct.

      • retireewannabe

        $4.50 at my DG too.

  2. Melissa

The coupon says its for 42 count.

My bad…I was looking at the Prevacid coupon. Can’t find a Pepcid one in my SS.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

no coupon here either only Prevacid.

omg im so getting this deal

  4. Venesa

Does anyone use coupon clipping services? and if so, is it worth it?

    • marie

When using coupon clipping services, make sure to add the total you spend for the coupons and shipping to the out of pocket expense for the products you are buying to see if its actually worth it. When coupons become HOTI( they can be part of a really good sale or getting the items for free or close to free) they “clipper” mysteriously raises the clipping price so much it isn’t worth it.(Ebay does this all the time).

does anyone else have problems with Dollar General and “free” items? i had a supervisor tell me that it is Dollar General’s policy that if a coupon makes an item “free” (i.e. the above scenario), that they do not take it???

    • Alison M.

I had the same problem. You have to explain to them that they take coupons that make the items free just not the coupons that say for a free item on it.

  6. Jeremy

is the 8 ct considered trial size?

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

THANK you so much for this deal! I bought four newspapers so I was able to get four boxes of the 8-count for $2.75 (after tax) total! My brother uses these A LOT, so this is such a great saving! Thanks again!

WalMart is SUPPOSE to price match to other stores. Tell them about it being $4 at Dollar General, and they should price match to that price, so it would be free there, too.

    • Katherine

It is advertised in this week’s sales ad (at least in KY, on page 10 at the bottom middle of the page), in case someone wanted to check their ad to make sure it’s that price in their region.

    • Michelle

When price matching at Walmart, you have to have the actual ad with you. They won’t take your word for it and in fact, I even printed an ad from a competitor’s website and they wouldn’t even take that…said it had to be the actual ad from the paper, store or mail.

    • heather

where is the all town garage sale? sounds fun, where at near houston

      • guest24

Wallis, Texas, By Richmond/Rosenberg. There are 2 $ Generals on HWY.36 North, on the way to Wallis. I love It…. Come on over. Also, Needville has All town Garage Sale March and September, Bigger, Better. See you there 🙂

I don’t want to be annoying, but isn’t buying coupons fraudulent? I’ve never used a clipping service for that reason, even though I’ve heard they claim “you’re not BUYING the coupons, you’re BUYING our TIME to clip the coupons”…where do you all’s opinions fall on this? I know that the Coupon Regulation people (can’t remember the acronym) says that it is illegal and subject to prosecution (mail fraud)…thoughts?

    • Michelle

Lori, I tend to agree with you. I really don’t know anything about the clipping services, how much they cost or how the work…but if you are paying a service for someone to clip coupons for you but not paying for the actual coupons, I don’t understand that at all. I think you are paying for the coupons by paying for the clipping process….them saying you are only paying for their time is just a way for them to get away with it and not get into trouble because it IS illegal to sell coupons and illegal to sell and/or purchase coupons from ebay or any other way other than getting them from the newspaper inserts. I read a really good article about all of this. I’ll have to find the website again and post it. I never have because I know this is a very touchy subject for a lot of people….but I coupon honestly and love seeing that others do too. Sorry to get on my soap box…I’ve stepped down off of it now. But thanks for your post and for opening this up for discussion with Collin’s readers! Take Care!

I got 2 boxes at my Dollar General for $1.16 total, including tax, as they were originally priced at $4.50. Good price and good to give away or donate. My local food bank takes OTC drugs. Thanks for letting us know about this, Collin.

  12. tawchy

Thanks Collin, I was lucky to grab a box of 8 ct.from Walmart for $0.38 with the coupon .

  13. coupons

can you please do more walmart matchups? i shop there a lot! and giant eagle and target. #ilovecoupons #couponcrazyteen

  14. Jessica

can you do more walmart matchups, giant eagle, dollar general, target #ilovecoupons #couponcrazyteen #savingmoney!

  15. Lori

Glad to see someone else feels as I do.

Yeah the wording is a way to get around it. It’s just like how ticket scalpers will sell you a “baseball hat with two superbowl tickets thrown in for free!” Are you really buying the hat? No….

You aren’t just paying for their services because you wouldn’t have had access to those coupons by any other means (if regional coupons at least)…

And also, where do the clipping services get all their coupons anyways? I’m thinking they’re not buying it. It’s sad to see all the ethics people are sacrificing all in the name of saving a buck.

It’s just like Extreme Couponers profiling a woman last season who taught people to misuse coupons by reading the family barcodes. Or people stealing the inserts from other people’s driveways, etc. etc.

Interesting nobody else has an opinion on this!

  16. Amber

I got 5 boxes at Walmart for $.38 ea then 2 boxes at Dollar General for $.50 ea!
