Serve.com: **HOT** Request a FREE $20 Check
Oh my word… how awesome is this?! Currently, you can score $20 in FREE cash! Yep… $20! And it doesn’t require that much work either! Here’s how…
* Go here to sign up for a FREE account with Serve.com, a next-generation digital payments platform that helps you organize your money, send and receive funds, and manage payment requests. Very similar to Paypal. Also, Serve.com is a legit site – owned by American Express. That means Serve uses American Express security, technology, and data protection.
* Note that you will receive a verification email after signing up. Click on the link in the email and enter your verification code that was sent. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t get this email (that’s where mine was).
* Once you sign up for a FREE Serve.com account, you will instantly see that a $10 bonus has been added! You can then immediately request a check for $10 to be sent to your home at no cost. Allow 7 to 10 business days for delivery.
* Even sweeter, you can head on over here to play the Serve.com Money Mover game! Just answer one trivia question correctly and you’ll score another FREE $10! And if you don’t answer correctly, you can keep playing until you do. Once you answer correctly, you’ll be able to enter your email address and you will receive an email within the next business day with directions on how to claim your FREE $10!
So after you complete all of the steps above, you will have scored a total of $20 with no out of pocket expense! It doesn’t get much better than that! Merry Christmas! π
And, if that isn’t sweet enough for ya, you can receive a $5 referral credit to your Serve account after each friend who completes registration and sends money at least once from their Serve account. A maximum of $50 in referral credits may be earned through this promotion. The referred friend must use the link in the referral email to register for and send money from their Serve account. Offer limited to legal residents of the 50 U.S. & D.C., 18 or older. Valid for new Serve accountholders only. Offer is subject to change or cancellation at anytime.
(Thanks, Suzanne & How About Free!)
Ladies, I signed up for an account and only after that, I called customer service because they needed the lat 4 digits of my ss# on the initial registrationβ¦of course, they pull a credit check..the customer rep said βitβs a soft pullβ whatever that means I regret I even did it
How do they run a credit check on only the last 4 of your social? Don’t you need a full social?
It’s a soft pull. I was concerned and that’s why I called and asked. With the last 4 digits of your ss#, they can pull a soft credit because they have all your personal information..birthday, address, etc.
Even a “soft” hit can effect your credit report for two years, fyi. If you’re currently in the process of getting a home loan, this can possibly put that in jeopardy.
WOW! My house closes on Jan 6. I am glad I didn’t sign up!!!
Yes, the loan company (as you know) pulled your credit report to pre-approve and approve your loan. They will pull it again right before closing to make sure nothing has changed. So you should never do anything that could even possibly affect your credit, because if it changes it for the worse, it may be just enough for the mortgage company to change its mind about your loan.
(Also, congrats on your new home!)
It’s our first house and we are very excited! Thanks Coco! π
Oh, I’ve never heard of that before! Guess you learn something new everyday!
It depends on the bank most of them do not do a second pull credit usually is good for 60 – 90 days. Every once in a while they will do a credit check. This should not affect you getting a home because you are not opening a credit card or another loan. I’m a realtor and have been for yrs.
As a credit specialist, there are many things that can lower your score. One of those things is the number of inquiries (hits) on your credit report. Every time your credit is pulled, your score goes down. It may only be a few points, but if your bank uses a bracket system and those few points knock you down into a lower bracket, the bank may re-assess. Regardless, it would be foolish to risk your new home for $20.
I’m sorry but I tend to agree. I worked as a mortgage loan banker for years and any pull on your credit report (soft or hard) between application and closing caused a “hit” and it could affect your loan app. We had people sign a letter to put in their file why they had so and so pull credit, etc. Soft or hard, don’t do it if you are in the process of a mortgage loan.
Yikes. I’m definitely not typing that online on a website. I’m sure it’s safe since it’s part of American Express, but I’d rather not take the chance. Thanks for the heads up!
Yikes is right. No soft pulls for me!!
I agree; no way am I giving out that information for $10 or $20; so not worth it.
100% agree with you Sue. I am very, very frugal, but I honestly think people are crazy to give that out for $10-20 bucks.
According to lendingtree.com, a soft pull does NOT affect your credit score, and is done by all kinds of companies without your knowledge, like credit card companies that send you offers for “pre-approved” cards.

signed up and played the game. Don’t see the option for requesting a check
i got my $10 and played the game….and you DONT have to request the check! at the top of the page it says
Activate your card
Look for your Serve card in the mail. You can use your Serve Pre-Paid Reloadable Card to access your Serve funds and make purchases across the U.S. wherever American Express Cards are accepted.
I don’t think that’s correct.
Correct me if I’m wrong…..anyone??
Thank you so much! Hip2Save is definitely my favorite site, and all the recent free money is making me love it even more!
Yay! It worked for me. I am going to request having it transferred to my bank account instead of a check because there is no fee attached to either. I am now just waiting on the $10 from the game.
I did the exact same thing & it works just like Paypal with 2 deposits before the account can be verified. What a great deal!! Thank you to the OP.
I got mine! Thank you so much!!
Thank you !!! I just “made” $ 20!!!
Ive had serve for a good while now. Its very legit its by American Express. They send you a card and you have to use it just as you would american express. American Expressanswer to paypal basically. I like it alot.
I got the $20 credit by signing up and then playing the game. The link for the $10 from the game is emailed tomorrow, but the $10 automatically showed up in my acct. Maybe people are using the wrong link to sign up from the original post?
I didn’t have any credit check (they can’t check your credit off of the last 4 digits of your ssn and you would have to authorize it even it they could) and they didn’t reqire anything further like a w2 from me.
Ditto π
Thanks for this great deal! Just wondering how to redeem the money in your account (who do you request the money from in line 1??).
Thanks Collin! I requested the check π
Just signed up and got the credit instantly.
And Thank You!
My browser doesn’t trust the site so I guess I’ll play it safe and skip this one.
My anti-virus program flashed there is not a legitimite certificate for this site so I am staying far away.
I’m eeping even the last four digits of my soc a secret!!! I never ever ever give that out. Especially for twenty bucks. Identity fraud costs A LOT more than that. Be careful sending even bits and pieces of your social over the internet. π
You have never given out your social security number to anyone? What about employers? Insurance companies? Credit card companies? Your bank? Even college? Not sure how anyone can never give it out to anyone.
good point
don’t think that is what she was referring to
Right. I highly doubt that’s what she meant.
Well the “never ever ever” would make it seem that way π
why do they want veritification of your social security number that is an illegal practice it is not that you work for them. im not joining
they don’t ask for verification of your SS number. They don’t even ask for your entire social security number on the application. Also, there is NO credit check required. I’m not sure where everyone is getting their information on this. Its very much like PayPal.
Paypal did not ask for the last four numbers of your social security number.
Paypal asks for your whole social security number now for tax purposes.
and you give PAYPAL your bank account and/or credit card number! I really don’t see what all the fuss is about.
I’m almost positive this is a requirement for any financial institution.
This is off topic but for anyone who signed up for the Open Sky deal a while ago through Mypoints…have you received all of those points yet? How long does it usually take?!
have not gotten mine either. I never would have made a purchase at all if I wasn’t going to get the points. I am hoping they actually do it and don’t come back and say you had to spend a certain amount to get them.
NO! I was wondering the same thing!
No, but other things have taken up to 4 weeks to receive the points. Hope that helps π
Havent gotten my points either or the stuff I ordered.
Hey to get more cash why not refer you 10 people then send on anything above those 10 to the next people. Its the holiday season sharing is caring.
I didnt get the $10 for signing up and I did verify π
I called and they told me some peoples account can take up to 72 hours to get the 10 dollar sign up.. but i dont understand why its only some people my hubby got it right away…
I wish they did not ask for my last four of my SSN.. thanks anyways!!
Couldn’t get this to work! Finally just canceled my account.
Me, too. Its not worth the worry to me.
Withdraw and have a check sent is different than the “Activate your card” button.
I did the withdraw and they are sending a check to my address, not in the form of a card as some here are suggesting. I may be wrong though. Anyone else???
Also, my $10 game bonus has not shown up yet. Anyone have any info on that?
Thanks for any replies π
It can take up to 24 hours to get your game money.
is in 24 hrs for the next $10 the game one
Signed up and got my $10 – also did the trivia game and won. Waiting on the confirmation email on the extra $10 π
It’s definitely valid: https://money.cnn.com/2011/03/28/technology/american_express_serve/index.htm
I got my $10 credit right away and the game takes 24 hours. Thanks Collin.
It is a legit site.
I got my $10, but when my husband went to sign up he didnt get it, anyone else?
Same thing. I got it, hubs didn’t. Might be 1 per household.
My husband and I both got it :/ Not sure what would have caused a difference or if there is just a delay on some that were done later.
Scratch that. Just refreshed and hubs got the $10 too!
Yay! π
I didn’t get the $10 credit even after verifying my email. π please help
I didn’t either and I don’t know why or what to do!!! HELP!
Hi! I’m a Serve employee and hope I can help. Once you verify your email check your account to see if the $10 was added. This may take up to 24 hours so please be patient. If you still have not received the $10 after that period of time, please call our customer service department and they will be happy to help. 1-800-954-0559
I just put in 1234 as my 4 digits and it went through…no $20 yet, but I’ll be patient…
I also put in a different four digits than my own.
everything worked for me. thank you so much Collin!
I made my account but I don’t know how to get the 10.00
I signed up – got my $10, it was very easy. Will hopefully get the email confirmation tomorrow for the bonus $10. Thanks Collin!!
Thanks that was easy!
Will not let me withdraw or send a check did anyone else get this message
Verify everything
We are currently reviewing your account information and cannot complete your request.

Yes, I got the same thing. Still no $10.
No $10 credit for me. I don’t get it. π
I didn’t get a $10 credit either. :/
not for me either π Idk why!!!
I’ll have to pass on this offer because I simply do not need an alternative to Paypal. I have made well over 1,000 paypal payments with 100% satisfaction.
I got the 10 from the game, but not opening the account…what gives?
Didn’t get mine eaither
Thanks so much, Collin!
Anyone seen referral credits yet?
I was hesitant to sign up, then decided to try it as long as it doesn’t ask for ssn. As soon as I got onto the site, I got a popup saying their Security Certificate expired on 9/29/2011. Made up my mind, I’ll pass on this. Thanks anyway, Collin π
I think the trivia game is only for people who haven’t signed up. I got the $10 for signing up and played the trivia game but it says in fine print “Note: You’ll have to register for Serve to receive $10”. So I wonder if the trivia is just another way of getting the $10 sign up bonus? Either way, free money is free money! Collin, did you actually earn the whole $20 yet? Just curious.
Hey! Question, how do you receive the credit in a form of a check? Thanks in advance!
Got my credit and a check is on it’s way!! Thank you so much!! I have not yet received the email for the $10 from the game yet, though.
Hey everyone it worked just fine for me and I even scored the extra $10. I like anything tied to American Express!
where should i look for verification token
I did it but will most likely do some research of my own before I link any checking accounts.
where do I see the option for requesting check?
I didn’t get $10 for signing up, and there was no option to request an additional $10. Just another account I’ll never use and more worthless emails. This one was a waste of time π
Well now I have uploaded documents for them to verify my address (as they asked in an email to me), so hopefully it will work out.
How do you send the check? I don’t see the button anywhere.
sent this to my daughters email for the 5.00 credit. She didnt get anything for signing up? I dont see anywhere , where it says 1 per address?? anyone else?
FYI the verification token email went to my spam, and the welcome email went to my inbox so definitely check your spam folder. π
Guys if you did not get 10.00 credit check emails they may need to verify additional info… π They needed to verify my addy. So I did one in husbands name and they dont need to verify with his so 10.00 showed up asap.
Thanks! Did this now!
