Serve.com: **HOT** Request a FREE $20 Check
Oh my word… how awesome is this?! Currently, you can score $20 in FREE cash! Yep… $20! And it doesn’t require that much work either! Here’s how…
* Go here to sign up for a FREE account with Serve.com, a next-generation digital payments platform that helps you organize your money, send and receive funds, and manage payment requests. Very similar to Paypal. Also, Serve.com is a legit site – owned by American Express. That means Serve uses American Express security, technology, and data protection.
* Note that you will receive a verification email after signing up. Click on the link in the email and enter your verification code that was sent. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t get this email (that’s where mine was).
* Once you sign up for a FREE Serve.com account, you will instantly see that a $10 bonus has been added! You can then immediately request a check for $10 to be sent to your home at no cost. Allow 7 to 10 business days for delivery.
* Even sweeter, you can head on over here to play the Serve.com Money Mover game! Just answer one trivia question correctly and you’ll score another FREE $10! And if you don’t answer correctly, you can keep playing until you do. Once you answer correctly, you’ll be able to enter your email address and you will receive an email within the next business day with directions on how to claim your FREE $10!
So after you complete all of the steps above, you will have scored a total of $20 with no out of pocket expense! It doesn’t get much better than that! Merry Christmas! 😀
And, if that isn’t sweet enough for ya, you can receive a $5 referral credit to your Serve account after each friend who completes registration and sends money at least once from their Serve account. A maximum of $50 in referral credits may be earned through this promotion. The referred friend must use the link in the referral email to register for and send money from their Serve account. Offer limited to legal residents of the 50 U.S. & D.C., 18 or older. Valid for new Serve accountholders only. Offer is subject to change or cancellation at anytime.
(Thanks, Suzanne & How About Free!)
Thanks for the easy money!!! wow the $10 was quick and now I’m waiting for the email for the $10 from the game!! Thanks for all you do Colin!!
Worked for me! It says “no credit check” when you sign up. I requested my $10 check and I played the game. Who can’t use $20 this time of year?! Thank so much!!
It’s taking a long time to get my verification email.
Hi Janell – I’m a Serve employee. Did you receive your verification email? It might take a little time, also be sure to check your spam just in case. We hope that you enjoy using Serve once you are all signed up!
change puters to sign hubby up
Why did you change computers? Is there a household limit?
No…me and my mom signed up on my laptop.
My credit isn’t showing up right away either, but I have to confirm my address first. I’ll wait and see if it comes through. Thanks for sharing, Colin, either way!
Go to the withdrawl tab to request your check… play the trivia game in link above to get an email. tomorrow that will give you 10.00 more.
thanks!
thank you! I’ve been looking all over the site for how to request a check haha 🙂
Thanks!
OT: Now that the numbered comments are back, will checking “Notify me of follow-up comments via email.” only forward replies comments I make rather than general comments on the entire topic?
It will send you every single comment on the post….. It’s frustrating to get get 200+ emails in a matter of minutes.
i think the goverment requires banks/financial institutions to verify identity, especially after 9/11. from the website’s point of view, we are signing up to use their financial service – WE know we’re just signing up for free $$$ – but they have to make sure they verify identity. also, using identifying information (and confirming addresses) prevents people from opening multiple accounts and getting multiple checks/cards for free $$$.
So you think we need to put in a Bank Acct # or credit card?
Hi Sharon – I’m a Serve employee. You do not have to link a bank acct # in order to receive the $10. Once you fully complete the sign up process you will receive a Serve Card w/in 5-7 days. The card can be used anywhere American Express is accepted and you can attach and add funds by linking your credit/checking account.
Should we wait for the $10 bonus game to show up and request $20 or just request the $10 sign up first and then later request another one again? Any thoughts?
I got the initial $10 for signing up then went to the trivia question. I answered correctly but my Serve acct still shows only a $10 balance.
did you enter your email address after getting the question correct? Is so, then they will email you directions (within 24 hours) to get your extra $10.
i didnt give the $10 for signup, but i didnt get a code yet, and i played the game and no money for that…hmmm
Mine too. I thought I did something wrong so I played again and it said I already scored the $10 so I guess I’ll wait!
I think it said it can take up to 1 business day so may show up tomorrow?
Wow – that was so easy and fun! I can’t wait to get my $20!!!!
Got the $10 credit, and got the $10 from the trivia game-answered on the first try!
how do they ask for SS# last four, dont like to give that out???
WoooHoo! Best deal ever!!!! Just cant wait for tomorrows $10!
done 🙂 got my money but i dont see the request check button
I’m not seeing it either.
Taty, I finally found it. Under “Your Wallet” you will see add and withdraw. Just click on withdraw.
Did you all take a moment to read all the fine print associated with this account? I’m not sure this is something I would do, based on the fees, and I really don’t want them to have my information just for a quick $20. Good luck to you all!
Seems comparable (or maybe even a little better) than Paypal to me. You can cancel online as well, no dealing with reps. See 310 Schedule of Fees – https://www.serve.com/legal.html#Serve_User_Agreement
I meant #10
My Mom and I both did it, both got the $10 for signing up and we both got a question right to get the $10, but it says it’ll send an email on how to cash in on that. If you read it after you play the game it says that. But we’ve requested they send the checks through the mail since it couldn’t verify my bank? I’m guessing since wachovia switched over to wells fargo. But that’s ok because my mom said I could have her $10 😀
Just did it, it’s pretty sweet!
I don’t see it on mine. I’ve done everything and it hasn’t shown up.
did it too, no $10 and no where to check to have the check sent to house,,,, i knew i shouldnt did this…??? i got code but , no $$$
i dint get my 10 rights away why
thankx!! signed up, got $10, played the game, got $10, WOW that was the easiest $20 ive ever made!! :):):):)
make your hubby or friend give u a penny after referring them cuz that counts as a “first transaction” and u get five dollars!!
As Colin stated this is legit. I was a little skeptical because they asked for the last four digits of your social. Since I am an American Express card holder, I contacted them to verify this. They verified the address with me. I also did a Google search. I just want to share my practice of how I proceed with anything requesting my personal information. We have to protect our entire identify not just our credit………. As stated this is legit. I love the customer service American Express provides, so I signed up using all of my credible information. Thanks Colin for the savings. YOU ARE TRULY WONDERFUL.
how can you request a check? i dont see that anywhere…
In the “My Account” section, find the “Recent Transactions” section and look to the right of the screen. There are blue links to Add or Withdraw. If you click on Withdraw, you have the option to request a check. HTH 🙂
Signed up and verified my email, but didn’t get the $10 credit 🙁 Does anyone know why/how to fix it?
sam here no $10 after signing up, verifying my account, and entering the code.
I didn’t get any $10 credit 🙁
They do request the last four digits of your social security number–I am going to pass. Apparently, they do a “soft pull” of your identity information for promotional and verification purposes, but that is just not worth $20 to me. Thanks though!
How long did it take to get your verification code? I got a welcome email, but no code after about 30 min. I checked spam too,
I am wondering this too if anyone knows. Wondering if I did something wrong?
Check your spam. The welcome email went to my inbox and the verification code went to my spam. It was sent immediately.
is this better then paypal?
Can you request the check and then cancel the acct after you get it lol
I refereed my husband and had him send me the $10 he got for signing up- got the $5 credit for referring him. Now I have $25 in my account ($0 in my husband’s) and hopefully we will get an email for each of us tomorrow for $10 for the trivia!
how did you transfer the money?
Do they charge you to send the money from your husband’s account to yours?? I’m a little skeptical because this can all be free to use!
Ohhhhh!!!!! Smart move Megan!! And I think I read somewhere that fees are waived until Jan 1st….but not sure if I dreamed that??
Mine keeps saying that they are reviewing my account or something 🙁
The $10 sign up credit doesn’t appear to be working anymore. I did it earlier for myself and it worked, then my husband tried to sign up and it did not work for him.
Got the $10 and $10! Thanks!
Signed up. Did NOT get the $10. Not happy.
I didn’t get the $10 credit….I’m upset now.
Thanks Collin this is awesome!!! Quick Question: How do you request the check? I see the option for getting a card sent to you.
I clicked on the withdraw link on the right hand side of the page, under the “my account” section. From there, there will be an option to request a check at no fee.
Thanks! I eventually found it. I could not scroll up to your post to inform you. Greatly appreciated!
I followed all the instructions to sign up, got $10 plus scored $10 playing the game. I love it. Thanks.
I didn’t get the $10 credit
Wow! How cool was that! You’re the best Colin. Easy $$ and Cool service, I really needed it.
Sorry folks,
but there is no amount of money that will make me give out my social security information NOTHING, other than then basics like a house, phone, heating bill etc…
Sometimes, we have too ask us if……is giving out our sacred information meaning a social security number sometimes too much just for a few dollars?
Just my opinion:)
Rosemary
Does anyone notice that at the bottom of the email it says (fees waived until January 12,2012) what FEES?! It doesn’t really specify what fees are waived…? Are there fees involved with this? Does anybody know?
I was curious to see this site and read your comment after making mine.
Here is what it says about Fees…..
After January 1, 2012 there will be fee’s for…..
~ Funding your Serve account with a credit card (2.9% of the amount transferred + $0.30 per transaction)
~ Getting cash from an ATM (first withdrawal per month is Free….after that, it’s $2.00).
Like i said….NOTHING is worth giving out your sacred information. Their will always be a catch somewhere, someway…..
Rosemary
I’m not getting this identity theft and fees issues. It’s American Express, not Billy Bob’s Online Store. Perfectly safe to provide your name and last four of your social. As for fees, fund with your bank account and don’t use the card at an ATM. Really a no-brainer…unless you don’t like free money?
how many times does someone just HAND you $20 for nothing? the company has to gain SOMETHING from it. Be it your information, fees, something. While $20 is fantastic, my identity is worth more then that
This is a gigantic company spending millions on marketing. Of course they’re looking to increase their client base and will email you further promotions. That’s probably the gist of it though. If you don’t want to participate that’s your call. All I’m saying is it’s a HUGE stretch that there will be any identity theft. And now I am unsubscribing because all these paranoid emails are clogging my inbox.
Oh, one more thing….look up American Express’ PASS promo from last summer. I scored a FREE $25 on each card for all three of my kids with no problems. American Express does these promos often.
And don’t forget about the free $25 American Express card that Collin posted about last month (that I received) AND also the $25 FREE CREDIT on my Amer Exp bill when I bought something for $25 on Small Business Saturday 🙂 🙂 🙂
So….$25 + $25 + $10 + $10 = one happy hipster 🙂 🙂 🙂
Is there an option to use it online like paypal lets you, instead of requesting a check? ( I don’t have a bank account so if this is an option it would be better for me)
I don’t know if you can use the funds directly from your account in an online purchase, but they will be sending you a card in the mail upon signup. And then you can use that card to purchase items online or in real life.
“Look for your Serve card in the mail. You can use your Serve Pre-Paid Reloadable Card to access your Serve funds and make purchases across the U.S. wherever American Express Cards are accepted. “
Just signed up and got the $10 credit. Make sure you check your spam folder for the verification email! Click on the withdraw button to request your check.
Seconding this. My verification link was in my SPAM folder.
I entered my info and got the e-mail confirmation but then I get a message that they are having technical difficulty????
Awesome! I signed up and got the first $10. I’m just waiting on the second one to show up. 🙂
Rosemary,
Re: Social Security number, the site asked for the last four digits, not the entire number.
Even so there are still ways for getting someone’s private information. Even when we all put in our names and address to sign up for something.
I agreed with you. There is something fishy about their website. Why would they want our social security numbers (even the last 4 digits)? And why would they charge fees? Really not worth it. Besides, I don’t want to deal with something unexpected or bad later. I do appreciate for all Collin has done for us but I will pass it.
Paypal requests the same info. Plus, I connected my bank account and my Visa card to Paypal (but not this Serve site…yet). I use Paypal all the time with transactions on Ebay, as well as shopping from sites that let you use Paypal to pay. This is basically the same kind of premise as Paypal. The fees that paypal charges is only when I receive money. They take a small percentage (that’s how they make their money). I have no problems using the Serve site for free money. Made $20 and also had my 25 yr old daughter do it and she was thrilled 🙂
No sign up credit ;( cancelled account!
