Serve.com: **HOT** Request a FREE $20 Check
Oh my word… how awesome is this?! Currently, you can score $20 in FREE cash! Yep… $20! And it doesn’t require that much work either! Here’s how…
* Go here to sign up for a FREE account with Serve.com, a next-generation digital payments platform that helps you organize your money, send and receive funds, and manage payment requests. Very similar to Paypal. Also, Serve.com is a legit site – owned by American Express. That means Serve uses American Express security, technology, and data protection.
* Note that you will receive a verification email after signing up. Click on the link in the email and enter your verification code that was sent. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t get this email (that’s where mine was).
* Once you sign up for a FREE Serve.com account, you will instantly see that a $10 bonus has been added! You can then immediately request a check for $10 to be sent to your home at no cost. Allow 7 to 10 business days for delivery.
* Even sweeter, you can head on over here to play the Serve.com Money Mover game! Just answer one trivia question correctly and you’ll score another FREE $10! And if you don’t answer correctly, you can keep playing until you do. Once you answer correctly, you’ll be able to enter your email address and you will receive an email within the next business day with directions on how to claim your FREE $10!
So after you complete all of the steps above, you will have scored a total of $20 with no out of pocket expense! It doesn’t get much better than that! Merry Christmas! 😀
And, if that isn’t sweet enough for ya, you can receive a $5 referral credit to your Serve account after each friend who completes registration and sends money at least once from their Serve account. A maximum of $50 in referral credits may be earned through this promotion. The referred friend must use the link in the referral email to register for and send money from their Serve account. Offer limited to legal residents of the 50 U.S. & D.C., 18 or older. Valid for new Serve accountholders only. Offer is subject to change or cancellation at anytime.
(Thanks, Suzanne & How About Free!)
I did this a couple months ago. Just watch your email (and maybe your Spam folder) for the codes and you will get your credit. They will mail you a prepaid “Serve” AmEx card, so no you don’t have to have a bank account to use it 🙂
Also, you can see the fees listed on their site ($0 for this promotion at least) – https://www.serve.com/legal.html#Serve_User_Agreement – search for “Schedule of Services and Fees.”
Do you remember how long it took for your card to come in the mail?
Why are some getting the $10 and some not? I didn’t get it either. I am really disappointed because I would not have even signed up for this without the $20 bonus. There is nowhere to complain to either…
Hi Abby,
Did you see the part where you put your special code in? Then you should be able to request a check. It’s not real detailed, but as you click on the options you can see what’s available. HTH!
I have the same problem. I got both the welcome email and the email verification (in my inbox, not spam). I verified my email and there was no $10. My account balance says $0, so there is nothing for me to request a check for. Really disappointed. I looked int he FAQs and it says if you qualify you will get the bonus, that’s it, no details!
I received an email with a special offer but when I went directly to the Serve site to register and did not receive my bonus. Why?
To be eligible for a bonus, you must click directly on the link in the email or online banner where the offer originally appeared. Only accounts created directly through promotional links are eligible to receive the special offer.
from FAQ on site
Check your email or under Notifications, you may not be getting the money because you have to verify your address on some accounts, you just upload a utility bill through the email they sent you – and they will give you the $10.
I did not receive the $, I emailed them and they are wanting a copy of my social security # and address…Seems extremely suspect to me!!
Don’t waste your time trying to complain. You win some, you loose some, just let it go. Why worry?
I never got any codes…but I did see the $10 in my account immediately. Therefore, I requested a check to be mailed to me and it says it was completed.
I called and they told me it can be up to 72 hours depending on why you didnt get it right away and if you dont get it by then you just call (:
Love the whole concept- Love American Express-Love the $20 bucks- thanks Collin! AE is the best company to deal with, their customer service is soooo outstanding!
This is what I got “we are currently reviewing your account information and cannot complete your request.
Make sure to check your email including your Spam and/or Junk email folders, and contact us if you do not receive an update.”
Do I just wait? or I did something wrong in the sign up process?
I’m getting the same thing. I didn’t get the $10 for signing up but I was able to play the game and it says I should get $10 from that sometime tomorrow. Oh well, I guess $10 is better than nothing!
Keep reading farther down on that email you got, you have to send them a utility bill to verify your address, you will then get your $10.
Where did you see this?
How can I delete this account? with what others have said about it, I’m spooked and want no part of it. Thanks for any help 🙂
Call them.
What have others said?
lol what do you think they are going to do?
Signed up and got an email asking that I send in a copy of a phone or utility bill and government issued ID. Not sure what that’s all about, but I think I’ll forgo my $10.
Got the same thing they want something with your full social security number and personal info. I think I will cancel my account, just to be on the safe side.
Did not get the bonus either 🙁 Bummer.
I didn’t receive the $10 either. Once you sign in, under your name there are several links you can click on…one of them is cancel account…I just cancelled it.
Here’s the deal about not getting the money right away: According to Customer Service, some may be flagged for additional identity verification. In my case, I use my middle name and not my first name. Signed up using middle name. Will get an email in 24-48 BUSINESS hours to verify the correct info. If you haven’t received the $10 yet, wait a couple of days for this email.
I feel this is a pretty secure thing to do. Not using full ssn and not asking (yet) for account info. No difference at all than Paypal.
Mine went right through… went to my e-mail and got the verification code. Went back to my account and requested my check; said it would be here in 7 – 10 days!
Lynne, thanks for your report. Makes sense!
I just signed up and received $10 which is coming in the mail. I played the game and won another $10.
Did the $10 deposit into your account right away?
yes; then I requested it be sent in a form of a check.
where is the request button for it to be sent in check form. I have looked everywhere in my account and cannot find any such request. Can someone help please!! My $10 is stranded! Hee-hee. But seriously help!!!!
After the $10 shows up on your account, you need to verify your acct at the top of the page. You will get an email with a code and then you type in that code in the blank at the top of the page. Then under the part where it says $10, there is the word WITHDRAW. You click on that and then follow the instructions that says Mail Me my Check (or something like that). Hope that helps (but I probably confused you. LOL)
Thank You, that was a lot of help!!
I signed up and verified my account with the email code, played the game and now I have $20 stranded in this account. There is no “withdraw”. There is just add, request, and send. And REQUEST just asks you to send an email to someone to request money. I can’t figure it out.
I’m a little leary of something that asks for the last 4 digits of my ssn – would really like the $20, but not sure it’s worth it….
I agree Amy 20 bucks is not worth risking my identy.
They are asking the same things that Paypal asks when you originally set up an account through them…plus, this one is sponsored by American Express which is a very legit/secure company. I really feel like this is safe by reading all the fine print.
awesome. enough said 🙂
Can my husband and I both sign up for this?
Don’t see why not, as long as you each use your own SSN and email. I referred my husband, so hopefully I get the $5.
Only if they use their account to pay, etc for something.
i signed both my hubby and myself up, and requested both checks– no problem!
How do you requested the check?
Can you use the Serve card on Amazon.com? I see the $10 in my account, played the game for another $10 (that email with verification will arrive tomorrow), but did not enter the $1K drawing as I don’t Tweet. I did refer some people, so maybe there will be more cash, but I’d like to spend it on Amazon, so let me know if that is possible.
you get the money in the form of an AMEX card, which I’m pretty sure Amazon accepts as a form of payment.
n/m I misread.
I didn’t get the $10 either after signing up. I did get the $10 for answering the survey questions correct. I’m good with $10!! <3 free money! And if American Express is backing this, it should be secure.
I just signed up and got $10 and an additional $10 for playing the trivia game. Easy as pie !!! Thanks so much 🙂
I got the first ten but i cant find request a check but oh well no complaints. It more money than i had 5 minutes ago 🙂
You hit withdraw to request the check.
I dont see withdraw, it doesnt give me that option. It says ADD, REQUEST,SEND. Where is it at??
you’re looking in the wrong spot. Look further over where it has your name/Wallet, where the $10 is available, little further down is a – sign in the right corner, underneath that is Add >> Withdraw. From there you can transfer to a bank acct or req a ck.
It took me a few minutes to figure that out too. It’s in your account information, above your total balance. It’s not the side bar where you send money to others. HTHs! 😀
You can connect Serve with your bank account, allowing you to transfer the money directly to your account. Takes 2-3 days, like Paypal, and is a free service.
how can i do that i added the card how do i transfer it.
I love this, and it came just in time for me! My paypal account has been acting screwy! Thanks Collin!
Thanks Collin, just scored my free $20…
thanks I love free money!
wahoo thanks colin!

These are the things a person needs to obtain a credit card, loan, etc….
Smell’s like a scam to me!
I can honestly say that $20.00 is NOT worth ruing my credit or having someone STEAL MY IDENTITY!
Thank God i did not sign up for this.
If scammer’s can make a web page look like the real thing, then i am sure they can make this American Express webpage thing look legit.
Did anyone every think to check with the BBB first? That is what i do first before i give out my social security number even if they only want the last four digits!
Come on people think first before doing this!
Thank God i did not sign up.
If u are truly web-security sàvy you’d know BBB is little assurance when verifying legit sites. LOL
American express is about as legit as a company can get. They are providing am alternative to PayPal. My $10 did not post so I called customer service and spoke with a real person who added the $10 immediately. Don’t call people stupid if you haven’t thoroughly investigated.
Thanks! $20 in less than 5 minutes!!
Thanks got the $10 still waiting for the email for the second! I love FREE money!
I thought I was being oh so smart by “referring” my husband but when I used my referral link to sign him up, he didn’t get the $10. Does the referral program only make money for the person who refers and not for the person who accepts the referral?
Thanks for this info Collin! 😀
I’m wondering as well….
You will get referral money ONLY if the person sends money from their account. Always read fine print 🙂
Thank you for referring a friend or family member to Serve! Let me explain exactly how our referral program works. If you sign up for Serve and refer someone during the sign up process, you’ll get the $10 as soon as you complete registration. The person who you referred will get an email and when they complete registration, they too will get $10 in their Serve account. However, you will not get the $5 referral bonus unless the person you referred completes a send money transaction. So tell your friend or family member to try out the service! Hope that clarifies the process.
Thank you so much for the reply Serve Employee. It took a bit for my husband’s account to send a confirmation email and it looks like I’ll have to send in info with his social and additional documents for him to get the $10. Thanks for all your help. 🙂
Thanks so much. The $10 credit showed up right away. I played the game and am waiting for the email. Hope this all works out. Merry Christmas INDEED!!!! Ha, ha. (Love nerdy words!)
I didn’t get anything in mine. What am I doing wrong? I signed up at 2:30pm and had to rush to work thought something would be in there by now. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thank you.
You must complete registration to get the $10. If you’re still having problems you can call Customer Service directly at 1-800-954-0559.
Purdy dang cool. 10. check is on the way. We’ll what lays in wait tomorrow on the other 10. Thank you Collin
These are the things a person needs to obtain a credit card, loan, etc….
Smell’s like a scam to me!
I can honestly say that $20.00 is NOT worth ruing my credit or having someone STEAL MY IDENTITY!
As i am reading some of the comments, i guess one has to send some type of payment in order to get an additional amount of money.
That right there is the first RED FLAG people. If someone requests money from you before you can get your money then they have access to your information.
I received last year a piece of mail and it said that i won a prize which was some money. Inside was a check for about $2000.00 or something around there, BUT on the so called statement it also said that i had to deposit this check right away and pay some type of up front cost first before i could receive my so called award money.
I knew it was a scam, but called the number and talked to someone….i asked him question’s like how did i win this money, where did i sign up to obtain this so called award….he could not answer me and hung up.
All i am saying folks, don’t be in such a hurry to give out your precious private information and have something happen for $20.00. Especially when they want your utility bill, SS# etc….
It is the holidays and the scammer’s prey on this time of year.
They didn’t ask me for a utility bill, nor was I asked to send in any money. I don’t believe this is the same thing as the scams like you mentioned with the fraudulent check. I think it’s good that you are diligent about protecting your identity, but I wouldn’t be so harsh to judge everyone who is signing up.
Agreed, Kristin.
Completely agree with you Kristin. I wasnt asked for any further form of identificiation, so I’m not concerned. And btw…
“As i am reading some of the comments, i guess one has to send some type of payment in order to get an additional amount of money.
That right there is the first RED FLAG people. If someone requests money from you before you can get your money then they have access to your information.”
They require you to send money to someone you KNOW or for a good or service to an online retailer. The site itself is not asking you to send THEM any money. Do some more research before insulting a group of intelligent, deal-seeking adults.
This is a legit site. Use google before you jump to conclusions.
Press Release:
American Express Announces Serve(SM), the Next Generation Digital Payment Platform
Serve Offers Person-to-Person, Online, Mobile, and Traditional Card Capabilities in a Single Account
NEW YORK, March 28, 2011 –
American Express today unveiled Serve(SM), a digital payment and commerce platform that gives consumers a new way to spend, send and receive money with services that go beyond the existing global payment networks.
With Serve, consumers can make purchases and person-to-person (P2P) payments online (serve.com), via mobile phones, and at millions of merchants who accept American Express cards. Serve unifies multiple payment options into a single account that can be funded from a bank account, debit, credit or charge card, or by receiving money from another Serve account.
Serve is an easy-to-use, digital alternative aimed at consumers who currently rely on cash, check and debit card. Serve accounts can be accessed via Serve Apple iOS and Android applications, at Serve.com and through Facebook. Through Serve, American Express aims to expand into new segments of the market that do not rely on traditional charge and credit cards to manage their day-to-day finances.
“Serve is a new type of payment platform that isn’t tied to a single card or mobile operating system. It’s a flexible, easy to use platform, which from day one brings tremendous assets to the alternative payments space and gives consumers an option to shop on-line and off-line at millions of merchants who accept American Express,” said Dan Schulman, Group President, Enterprise Growth, American Express.
“We intend to quickly evolve the Serve platform by adding new features and functionality as we learn from consumer and merchant experiences. To encourage a broad cross-section of people to experience the benefits and convenience of Serve, we are working with a range of partners to integrate Serve as a payment method and deliver customized offers, and we will waive most consumer fees for the next six months,” said Mr. Schulman.
How it works
Consumers set up an online account at Serve.com or through a smartphone app. Funds can be added from bank accounts, debit cards, credit and charge cards, or other Serve accounts. Customers can use those accounts to send and receive money to friends, pay bills and make purchases online. Serve bridges online and offline commerce – each customer will be issued a Serve reloadable prepaid card linked to their Serve account that can be used at any merchant or ATM that accepts American Express cards.
Unlike traditional debit card accounts, Serve offers users the ability to easily create, manage, and specify sub-accounts for their friends, family members or colleagues. Sub-accounts are linked to the master account and allow users to set spending profiles for everything from children’s allowances to dog walker fees.
The Serve platform evolved from technology obtained through the acquisition of Revolution Money in early 2010.
Serve is available immediately to anyone in the U.S. and is expected to launch into other international markets over the coming year. American Express will continue to evolve the features and functionality of Serve based on market feedback. To gain consumer and merchant insights about Serve and to help shape upcoming releases, a marketing pilot will also be conducted in Eugene, Oregon.
Partnerships
While payments are the foundation of the Serve platform, American Express is also announcing a number of partners who will use the platform to deliver relevant offers that drive spend and build loyalty. Three of the first partners are Ticketmaster®, Concur® and Flipswap.
“A cornerstone of the long-term vision for Serve is developing partnerships with commerce, gaming, entertainment, and social networking organizations,” said Mr. Schulman. Partnerships, with players such as Ticketmaster, Concur and Flipswap will introduce Serve to new customers and help build scale. These companies have loyal communities of customers, and we are thrilled to partner with them as we grow and expand Serve’s reach.”
Ticketmaster will offer Serve as a platform for customers to make and collect payments toward ticket purchases from other customers. Concur will utilize Serve as an expense management and reimbursement method for transactions processed via Concur’s small business expense reporting service, Concur Breeze. Flipswap will utilize Serve to issue refunds more quickly to consumers who sell or trade in their old mobile and cell phones for reuse or recycling.
Details around these and a number of additional partnerships will be announced over the coming months.
Giving Back Widget
Serve is also partnering with five major charities – Autism Speaks, Best Friends Animal Society, Malaria No More, Save The Children and Stand Up For Kids – to enable each organization to raise funds via a donations widget. Widgets can be downloaded on Serve.com and at facebook.com/paywithserve, and shared on other Web sites, including Facebook, to encourage donations. Serve will match all contributions via the widget up to $100,000 for each charity.
In the coming months, Serve will offer selling widgets that give customers the ability to sell items through their own social networks.
Highly Competitive Fees Waived for Launch
Serve consumer fees will be highly competitive. There are only two fees for consumers and we are waiving the fee to put money into the Serve account for the next six (6) months. The two fees are:
Putting money into a Serve account: 2.9% + 30c/per load, discounted to 0% for cash, debit and ACH.
ATM cash withdrawal (after first one each month free): $2.00
Unlike some other products in the market, Serve has no fees to open an account, no monthly fees, no fees for P2P transactions, no fees to set up sub-accounts (up to four accounts) and no fees to use the widgets.
Merchants who accept American Express cards will pay a prepaid discount rate for transactions made both in stores and online with a Serve prepaid card.
Investor Conference Call – Live Audio Webcast
A conference call with members of the investment community will be held today March 28, 2011, at 11:00 am EDT. The call will be hosted by Dan Schulman, Group President, Enterprise Growth, American Express.
Live audio of the conference call will be accessible to the general public at https://ir.americanexpress.com. A replay of the conference call will also be available at the same Web site address.
About Serve
Serve, by American Express, is a next generation payment platform designed to deliver emerging payments and services to address the changing ways consumers interact and exchange money — with one another — as well as merchants. Learn more at serve.com and connect with us on facebook.com/paywithserve and twitter.com/serve.
this site is just like Paypal (where you send/receive money) I was not asked for any additional information (bill, ID, etc), got my $10 bonus + $10 from playing the game. For those that have to send in additional information, maybe they put in the wrong birthday or something just didn’t match up like, they recently moved, different phone number, so Amex wants to verify. I don’t think Collin would steer us wrong when it comes to personal information!
WOW! Take a chill pill! Collin would NEVER post anything that would put her readers in any type of danger! They only need to verify you are who you say you are.
I was not asked to send in ANY MONEY nor was I asked to send in any utility bill, but some are being asked because there is NO record of them living where they say they do! It’s the same thing ANY BANK would do!
AMERICAN EXPRESS is behind this and they are a very reputable company! I do believe you owe Collin an apology for blasting like you did!
If you got scammed by a check in the mail that you had to send money to before getting what you won, than that’s on you! I got 2 of them, called the cops! I didn’t bother with depositing it or sending any money, I called the authorities! They thanked me and it was on the news the next day warning people about that type of scam!
Collin does not post anything like that! If you’ve been a reader for a while, you should know that! Again I say you owe an apology!!!
First and foremost if some people think i was insulting them, then they need to learn how to read what i posted. It is a proven fact that some American’s do not read articles properly and then turn around and say that someone is saying something mean in their post. Which i did not.
I NEVER SAID ANYONE WAS NOT INTELLIGENT, OR STUPID!
I was only thinking about the security of people’s credit! Period!
I quess it is in your court now….good luck folks!
I completely agreed with your post. I did this offer but with the full knowledge that they DID actually conduct a credit check. But my credit is sky high and I am not applying for any lines of credit anytime in the near future so I wasn’t worried about that.
But this IS a risk for identity fraud as indeed, this site allows monetary transfers and just like you explained others who draw funds from you can have access to your info. I weighed the risk and did it anyways but I appreciated your post for sure!
Sweet deal!!! $20 for hardly any work at all!!! Merry Christmas to us!!
Thanks for the easy-peasy cash, Collin. Worked like a charm for $20, and I’m actually looking forward to receiving (and possibly using) my brand-new Serve card.
I am happy to get a heads-up on this company. Paypal’s fees are a real downer, and RME just changed names/never really took off. If the early bird gets the $20 worm, I am ok with that! And, I am glad they require more identity confirmation from people who flag the system because I am trusting them to keep everything legit if we complete a buyer/seller transaction together!
But, man, step of that game took like 10 minutes to load. Crazy! And it’s 1am, so I don’t think it’s slammed or anything.
I will stick with Paypal. I only use it to transfer my survey money and have not any issues. I do not let my money sit, as soon as it goes in Paypal I transfer it to my bank. I do not want to give my social security number out online (even just 4 digits). I got the $25 Am Ex gc from facebook in November. I am going to pass on this deal. Thanks for posting Collin because I am sure most of us would not have known about this.
Ok I read some more on another site. Since I did not have to send anything more to verify address or put in any bank info, then I did do this and make $20. Already asked them to send me $10 since other $10 from the correct trivia question is not there yet. After I read the long thing from Joe and thought it out I knew Collin was careful and would not post a scam on here. Free money works for me. American Express did good with sending the gc from the facebook promo.
Not happy I just received an email asking for copies of confidential paper work to confirm my SSN and my address. Don’t think so
That was easy!!! Thank you!!! Free $20 for me, yahoo! (No request for paperwork for me)
Can’t find the link for the game
Worked for me, the $10 went right into my account and I requested the check! (I have a hotmail account). It takes a day for the game, so just going to wait until then for the $ to show up!
I was one that didn’t get any credit to my account right away. Today, I got an email from them asking for my full social security number and a proof of mailing address. That is NOT happening. I’m glad others seem to be having luck without having to do that, but giving out my full social security number is not worth $20!!
This is AMAZING. Thanks so much!
could not even sign up because it refused to take my 10 digit password which contained 4 numbers and 6 uppercase letters

In addition, you can link it to you checking accounts, debit or credit cards, so you can instantly reload your card.
-The Serve Team
Thanks for the info! However, I haven’t received the bonus $10 email from the Money Movers, so I haven’t been able to confirm it. I don’t think I deleted anything accidently (out of my email)….how can I get another confirmation email sent?
I did not receive the email from the money maker game…
Collin, have you personally tried this offer? If not, would you?
Yes, I tried to offer. In fact, I got my $10 when I signed up yesterday and then I checked my account today and noticed that I received my bonus $10 from playing the game yesterday. So I was able to request a $20 check to be sent to my house…all free of charge. Can’t beat that! 😀
Cool, thanks for answering so quickly! 🙂
Thank you so much for this oppertunity. Customer service said to wait up to 48hours to get your account credited due to the high volume of people signing up right now but it will be creditited for those who are wondering.
The free $10 from the game says the only way I can accept it into my account is to link my credit card?!
I think not.
I didn’t have to link any information to received the $10 game credit??? I just accepted the $10 and it posted to my account along with the $10 bonus sign up 🙂
I too got the same thing – that I needed link a bank account number or a credit card in order to accept my $10 from the game.
I just called customer service to see why exactly they wanted a copy of my social security number and utility bill. The agent as very friendly and informed me that they DO perform a “soft credit report.” I’m not exactly sure why this would require my address and ssn but I thought I would let everyone know that there is some type of credit report ran when you open an account.
I received the first $10 automatically yesterday when I signed up and the second $10 today (for the trivia game I played yesterday). I received all the notifications, but I think it is odd that you have to approve receiving money. Also, I probably would have deleted the email without reading it because a header that says “You Have Received Money From a Friend” usually is a scam or has a virus in it. Anyway, it was the easiest $20 I have ever had to put any effort into.
I received my $10 when I singed up, right away. Then I played the game yesterday, but did not get the $10 until today. I just an email a few minutes ago and now the money is credited to my account. Cannot complain with $20 free. And even if I would have just gotten $10, that is $10 free. No complains.. 🙂
Just wanted to chime in and pass the info that I got my $10 bonus for playing game and just requested my $20 check!! It was very easy and didn’t have any problems with signing up or getting the credit!
Thanks a lot Collin!
And BIG thanks to all Hip2Readers for your comments assuring that this is a legit site! Thank you 🙂
I signed up yesterday and played the trivia game then, but the extra $10 hasn’t showed up in my account yet. Hmmm.
I just did the quiz again, and it says I already played. The site recommended that I check my spam folder, but it wasn’t in there. Waiting for free money is so hard!
I haven’t gotten my Email yet either. Played the game again and it said it was sent.
I signed for an account and got the easy $20! I also had my husband sign up for an account through my referral link…then he sent the $20 he got to my account (sending money is a requirement to get the $5 referral credit). I now have a $45 check on the way! AWESOME and SO easy! Thanks!
