I went to two different Dollar General locations this morning and they BOTH refused to let me use the store coupon in conjuction with a manufactures coupon.
They also required me to do two transactions with the store coupon. Quite frankly, they were rude and acted like I was doing something unethical.
This same thing happened to me last year on the Gain Fabric Softener!! They refused both Q’s and I even had the flippin Store Coupon Policy w/ me!! Still would not do it!! They were also very rude!! I have not been back since!!!
That just happened to me not 5 minutes ago. I was going to ask if you could use both a store and manuf. at Dollar General. They also had to do 2 transactions. My cashier was very sweet and apologetic and since I didn’t know their policy I paid the extra dollar… bummer!

Just got back with 2 bottles……
I had issues with the DG by me also, but had the coupon policy in hand & stood my ground. The manager was very rude & not happy with me. I only ended up getting 1 bottle.
You have to only buy one bottle at a time, or the register will kick out the repeating coupons. Worked like a charm in Cumming, GA–the manager told me she wished she could learn to coupon the same way!
i also live in Cumming Ga. Maybe we could get together and trade.
My DG is not very coupon friendly either, even though there is a sign on the front door that says – ‘we welcome your manufacturer coupons. Look for additional Dollar General savings throughout the store’

I’m saving mine for CVS as well. I pretty much leave Dollar General as a last resort for shopping. They act like they are put out to scan your coupons and it was to the point that every coupon I would try to use would beep or not scan, even their own that I would print at home. Plus my local store has really become rather filthy.
I also had a little trouble initially, when I went to buy the All detergent. However, the manager got involved, and apparently the cashier had to do two transactions. Persistence saved my day 🙂
I have not read a single positive comment about this deal. Everybody was complaining that not only it did not work, but the managers / employees were rude. Looks like there is a place worse than Walmart 🙂 And I find it crazy that people all over the country had the same problem. I think everybody should call their customer service and let them know. Maybe they will do smth about it. I am too scared to go try the deal… although I already printed the coupons. I jusGt dont want to ruin my day…. Good luck everyone!

Do it! I got 1 bottle and nothing else. The cashier was confused about me using 2 coupons but I explained that one was a store coupon so 2 could be used. He had to ask the manager how to get it to scan, but I just smiled and waited patiently and he was very kind in return.

I ALSO had trouble doing this deal. Cashier said you can only use 1 coupon per item, doesn’t matter if it’s a store/manu Q. I told her it’s their policy to stack. Unfortunately, I didn’t have it with me… So, she called the manager who called the district manager via phone, and “confirmed” their thoughts that it’s not allowed!
I had the same trouble using my coupons. The register wouldnt take more than one coupon per item. I sent a message to corporate and I think if everyone else did then maybe they would fix their registers and train their employees.
Im going to do that right now great idea i think if everyone did that we could take care of them rude cashiers
Ive done this deal a few times yesterday. I got 10 bottles total but had to do different transaction. My problem was the cashier didnt think they could take internet coupons. Had to explain that Dollar General emailed me the coupon. How was I supposed to print it?! lol

I think every time you “share” the deal with 3 friends (give them 3 email addresses) you get an email with the coupon in it. You are allowed to print each link twice … i think 😉

Yes it does….I just did this deal here in Florida this am and had no issues. I hate to see other people have problems with their coupons, but ladies make sure that you have your policy with you…if all else fails take your business elsewhere. I’m so glad where I live I don’t run into problems like some people do.

I worked this deal earlier today. You do need to ring up each bottle in a separate transaction and the cashier just has to follow the directions written on the store coupon. A manager will probably have to get involved. I don’t usually shop at Dollar General, but I received a $5 off $20 coupon by mail yesterday and thought the combo would make for a super sweet deal. Having to do multiple transactions makes the $5 off $20 DG coupon I received useless.
My DG wouldn’t take both coupons until I whipped out the policy. Thanks for posting. You would think that people who work for the company would know the rules.

After I ran out of my first few bottles of Dreft, I started using Tide Free & Clear (or whatever they call it) for my baby’s clothes. So maybe the All Free & Clear, which they say is included in the sale, would work for you, too?
All Free and Clear is even better than dreft or All baby. My son is allergic to most detergents but All free and Clear is the only one that works for us.

I quit going to that store and it’s too bad because I can walk to it from my house. They will only let you use one coupon. The manager is there most the time and doesn’t allow it so I don’t frequent their store….even if I just need a few things. I will drive to another. *sigh*
im curious how people are getting 10 coupons, since you have to share with three different people just to get one coupon. did you really share with 30 people? because i found it hard to come up with anyone to share with, since i think its rude to give out other peoples emails just to get a coupon. they give you their email info in confidence, not to spread it around everywhere and i wouldnt appreciate someone doing it to me. i sent it to my husband, and my junk account, and another old contact..but could never come up with 30 people to put out there like that. is there some way around that?
Maybe they are printing from 5 different computers? They email you the link, so I’m thinking I can click the link from my work computer, laptop, home computer, etc, and print it twice from each IP address.
Each coupon can only be printed twice regardless of computer. If you print it twice on one and then try the same link on another it will not print. You can however use the same email addresses over when registering for the coupon. If you have multiple emails and multiple computers to print from, you can receive the coupon to each email account.
You can look up famous people and send it to them: Letterman, David lateshow@pipeline.com, President Obama President@whitehouse.gov, House of Representatives E-mail list congress@hr.house.gov for a few ideas…

I can only get the $.50 coupon. I’ve tried several times to get the$1.50 coupon, but I only get an ad to keep sending the coupon. What am I doing wrong?
You should get an email with the link if you sent the offer to three people. Maybe check your junk mail if it’s not in your inbox? I got mine in my inbox immediately.
Is the ad that is sent to you the coupon? There isn’t a barcode. I’m stuck in a crazy coupon circle!!!
The email said “Thanks for sharing great savings at Dollar General. As a reward, click here to receive your coupon and start saving on your next trip to Dollar General.” When I clicked “here,” it sent me straight to the bricks coupons.com page where I could print two copies of the coupon.

I also had trouble using my coupons and the manager at my store was quite rude ~ Because the manufacturer coupon has one coupon per purchase (which I thought most coupons had) on it and he said that applied to store coupons as well. In other words, they wouldn’t stack it …
I was confused because I thought most coupons have one per purchase on it but that was referring to not being able to use 3 $1 off coupons for a $3 bottle of detergent.
you are absolutely correct! that is exactly what it means, i have had the same problem. its sad when customers have to explain policies to managers
i think i’ll just skip it. my grocer has all on sale all the time (no pun intended), and with a coupon i usually stock up at 1.99 so to me, saving 3 or 4 dollars is not worth giving them my business if they are this obstinate. this is how you change things. you vote with your money. there are other deals out there, i wouldn’t contribute to anti-couponing policies and attitudes.

OMG had a nightmare at Dollar General today went to do my deal and i was only buying “2” bottles off All i had my 2 D.G. coupons and my 2 M.C. coupons… the lady rang me up then told me her computer would ONLY TAKE ONE D.G. COUPON PER TRANSACTION…yeah… so i told her to split my transactions up… Mind you im the only one in line no one was in the store but me she turned into a coupon hater in 1.2 seconds once i asked her nicely to split my transactions up she threw a fit like my 6 year old then she wouldnt talked to me any more… Question what in the H*LL DID I DO THAT WAS SO WRONG?! For the life of me i can not figure out what people have against couponers Im a single mom trying to save money thats all and i dont know what cashiers have against people trying to save money is so sicking to me i wish that something could be done about them

i found the one in owensboro ky have real nice employees and she said if it scans and the computer allows it then we take it. but if the computer wont take it then they can get into trouble but my printed coupon scanned and she scanned my manufact. coupon and it scanned so they took it. they were friendly but some you get think the money is coming out of their pockets and are hateful or they just dont want to take the time to deal with coupons. but thats at any store. i have one walgreens at bowling green i will not go back to cause the manager is hateful and mean and does not like anyone using coupons.
Unfortunately, most people in this world do not want extra attention drawn towards them that may make them feel “different”. I LOVE couponing, it saves my family money, and allows me to have that feeling of having a shopping spree without the guilt of overspending. It’s funny how many cashiers (and managers) I have come across who despise me for the sole reason of, I use to many coupons for their liking. All that matters is you are leaving the store knowing you got the best deal you could, and your family is the better for it, who cares what anyone else thinks. When I am holding up the line I am doing it with my head held high. LOL

UPDATE: I called called the Dollar General headquarters. I complained about the way I was treated, and their refusal of my manufacturer’s coupons.
I read the coupon policy to the customer service agent. She agreed that I was in compliance with their compon policy.

I just wrote them a very long email i think more people should email or call and maybe we could get something done!
It’s my New Year’s resolution not to let people (cashiers and managers) make me feel bad about couponing. I’m not doing anything wrong and am not taking money from their pockets – I feel THEY need to get over it. Happy savings!
Just came back from doing this transaction. My cashier immedietly tried to say “I dont think I can take both coupons”, I whipped out “their” coupon policy and showed her what it said, She then proceded to check the conterfit coupon list, not finding it on there, she then whipped out her magnifiying glass and read both of the coupons thoroughly!! Finding nothing wrong she said, “well lets see if this will work”….Both coupons were accepted and she was suprised! LOL!!!! I just stood quietly with a smile on my face through this whole process, knowing that every thing was correct. I am going to do it again tomorrow….

THEY ASKED ME FOR MY ADDRESS AND ARE SONDING ME A DG GIFT CERTIFICATE/CARD TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE MONEY. IT’S THE PRINCIPLE OF BEING TREATED IN AN UNACCEPTABLE WAY WHEN I PRESENT COUPONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR POLICY.

YES, YOU CAN USE THEM BOTH AT WALMART AND PRICE MATCH. AT LEAST, MY WM DOES IT IN MT PLEASANT MI. TRY IT…THE WORST THEY CAN DO IS REJECT YOU AND ID RATHER GO THERE THAN DG IN THE FIRST PALCE!!
I tried to buy 2 bottles this afternoon and the computer would not accept the DG coupons. The cashier and manager were nice and tried to enter them manually but it would not go through. I thought about going back and trying to do 2 transactions but earlier when I was trying to get 2 the computer wouldn’t even take the 1st DG coupon. So I don’t know??? Is there a certain order they need to be scanned…DG coupon then MQ? The cashier scanned the MQ 1st so wondering if that was the reason.
i went to dollar store in owensboro ky and the clerk said if the computer takes the coupons we will do it. and there was not problems. but i did not have $1. manufac. coupon I use .75 and it worked great. i also had $1 off any aways panty liners and they had little packs there for $1 so i got them for free to.
did the cashier scan the DG coupon 1st or the MQ 1st?

okay, I am quite frustrated. Went to dollar general tonight & they would not accept the internet coupons because they were printed off a black & white printer. They said it must have the yellow tint on it and accused me of photo copying. I will be calling corporate tomorrow to see if something can be done. Any one else have these issues? I’m in Lansing MI
i used color but my sister used black and white. they may have trouble tomorrow when they take theirs.

Wow. After reading all of this about terrible stores i wish that we, as couponers, had a way to “blacklist” certain stores. I had this thought the last time i was treated terribly about using coupons, and I think its a good idea. If we all collectively told each other about specific stores that we as a group refuse to shop at- and were able to tell corp offices that these stores were being boycotted, I think that stores would be much more happy about taking our coupons and making employees follow thier own policies.

Had to do 3 transactions for each bottle to take both Q’s at a D.G. in 76201. They were unsure about how it works too. They’ve had some fraud issues apparently.
I never received my DG coupon after referring 3 friends. How long does it take to get the coupon emailed to you? My friend did the same thing and never got hers either.
